Behind Those Eyes...

Ashe sighed, and kicked up a leaf, looking up at the forest, its pine canopy stretching out above him. Behind the Flames flickered, a reminder of how bad his skill with a clockwork plane was, luckily he bailed before the crash, but his main project was now lighting up the area in its orangish-yellow glare.
He winced as his head pounded, something had shot him down, he felt the tearing of the plates covering the bottom of the plane shear from something. He sighed again, and pulled out a facade cigarette (Think Dr.Stein from Soul Eaters Cigarette), he was trying to kick the habit anyway..... Might start by using up his supply.... The faint glow from the cigarette illuminated his eyes, blue, a contradiction to his messy flop of spiky red hair. "Alright.... Well, downed in this place.... Middle of nowhere, few supplies, ones that haven't burned at least.... A Clockwork Pistol, broken.... And a Tiga (Broad-Bladed Dagger)...... Lets..... Try not to die alright Ashe? We can do this..... Trained for it after-all...." Muttering he walked into the blackness of the forest before him, leaving behind the red glare of the flaming wreck.

There were many creatures in the forest. From rabbits to birds, but there were also predators out here. Tigers, jaguars, but also wolves. Wolves were a rare thing to see in this sort of forest. Many had thought that they were extinct, however the wolves that live in the forest aren't your average wolves. There was only one that stood out from the others. This one was jet black with icy-blue markings that almost looked like lightening. With purple eyes, it had it's sight on a two legged animal that was walking through the forest. What a foolish creature. It must not be from around here if it is wandering around during the night. the wolf thought as she climbed down from a small cliff. This wolf was almost as big as a Mustang horse. She was one of the wolves that lived here.

His trench-coat brushed the ground, and he reached down, picking up a stone, looking at it, he sighed shaking his head, and tossed it back down. He had been walking for awhile now, he looked back, and the flames of the crash had either died down, or he had walked a long way, he couldn't tell. He took in a breath of smoke from the cigarette, and exhaled the cloud, almost unseeable, even with his eyes having adjusted to the darkness of the forest. He knew of what people said about this forest, why no-one wanted to be near this place. And feared it, probably for a reason. But, Ashe didn't mind, he thought they were flights of fancy, or just stories told to frighten people. He knew there were predators. But, even with this, he was confident in his ability to ward them off. He chuckled aloud, and climbed a rock, sitting down to rest, his boots now dusty and worn from the long hike in the rocky forest.

Walking through the forest the she-wold could smell burning flesh near by. With a low growl she started to move away from the smell. Where there other human's in the forest? Where any of them Poachers? The She-wolf was always being hunted by the humans. How ever every time they had her in their sights she always managed to give them the slip. With a soft chuckle she started to climb up the rocky trail, she wanted to see the moon.

Leaning back he marveled at the moon, or at least the view of it from his rock. Smiling he flopped back, looking into the night sky. Putting his hands behind his head, he sighed in relief, "I guess this couldn't gone worse... I'm alive at least, Planes down though.... Guess that......It....Wasn't....Meant....To....." He murmurs the last few words before falling asleep on the large protrusion of rock. Snoring softly, he stretched out his arms in his sleep, his head gently resting against the mossy stone.

Finally making it to the top. She was now away from the trees. Walking towards the edge of the cliff she looked at the moon, the stars reflected in her eyes. She could not remember much about her past but she did remember a soft melody her mother used to sing to her as a pup. Closing her eyes she began to howl. At first it was soft hardly noticeable, but after a few moments the howl grew louder and louder. The she-wolf was singing from her heart.

The sudden howl jolted him awake, he lay there listening to the song, smiling, then it hit him, he was merely five feet from the howler, he crawled to his feet, squatting nearby, watching the massive wolf howl at the moon, he swore under his breath, and drew his dagger, and started to sing a wordless chant, that he usually sung when under stress. His blue eyes continued to watch the wolf, the soot on his face lending to his ability to hide in the shadows.

Hearing something move from behind her the She-wolf turned her head and let out a snarl. Her eyes seemed to be a darker shade of purple then before. She could smell a human near by, maybe it was a hunter? Or it could just be a human, either way she could not take a chance of getting caught. Getting low she started crawling towards the human that was on the other side of the rock face.

He continued to do the wordless song on his lips as he leaned against the rock face, hoping the wolf didn't see him. He absently twirled the Tiga back into its sheath, and squatted, then deciding to check if the wolf went away, he looked around the rock face, right into the wolves' purple eyes, he sat there for a moment blinking at the wolf. "Uhhh....... Hi?"

The she-wolf just growled and stood to her full height. She wasn't sure of what to make of this human, why was he covered in black mud? He had the smell of burning flesh around him. Was he the one from the fire back near the forest? She showed her teeth and folded her ears back but she didn't make a sound. She wanted answers, she pointed her head towards the smoke and turned back to the man.

He blinked for another moment, staring at the huge wolf, then noticing the head-shake at the plume and orange glow, he smiled apologetically. "Sorry I crashed into your forest..... But something shot my plane down...." He shrugged, continuing his wordless humming under his breath. He smudged his face, trying to wipe some of the soot of, but he only got it in his eye, and so it started to water.

The She-wolf tilted her head as the human started wiping it's face. With a small huff, almost a chuckle she padded closer and started licking his face. How they actually clean themselves she never knew but at least the strange mud would be off. What did he mean someone shot down his plane? Once she was done licking the mud off she stood back to let him breath. The moon was full and her fur seemed to glow, even the blue markings seemed to shine brighter then before.

He falls backward in shock after the wolf finished licking his face clean. "H-Hey.... I.... Uhh....... Those...." He stared at the markings, his blue eyes, and red hair, illuminated in the light of the full-moon. He blinked again, his face shining brightly. "Did ya' have to.... Ya' know.... Lick my face clean of the soot.... And doesn't it taste horrible?" He stammered out.

The She-wolf laughed, "I have tasted worse then that." she said with a wolf version of a grin. She noticed he was starring at her blue markings. "Is something wrong?" she asked twitching her right ear.

"Yeah, its just that you have these Blue-White marking on you, and they are kinda glowing.... Wait uhh..... Did you just talk?" He looked up at her quickly, a panicked a look on his face.
