- Pickup - One roll is made at the beginning of each page in a thread. If that roll is an item, the item is kept as the one that the character has 'picked up'. - Pikipek can strike 16 times per second with it's beak, allowing is to drill through wood and even shatter stone.

» Personality:
Valen is quite confident and optimistic – overconfident, honestly. He is proud of himself and his abilities, and generally believes that when he does something, he is exceptional at it, or at least soon will be. He avoids thinking about things he doesn’t like or that he isn’t very good at as much as possible. He can be impatient; especially when the opportunity for adventure presents itself, he is eager to take it.
Besides his love for adventuring, Valen wants to help others as well, although he can be condescending at times. He tends to feel pity for those whom he considers weaker or less fortunate than he is. (Often, this means Pokémon that cannot fly). He has learned that talking about how badly off others are can offend them. He doesn't intentionally want to make others angry or sad, so now he tries not to say things such as his thoughts on how unfortunate it is to be a creature stuck to the ground in front of landbound Pokémon, even if sometimes the impulse is difficult for him to resist.
Valen tries to not be afraid of anything and to show his fearless demeanor to others. However, he does, in fact, worry about permanent injuries happening to him. Next to death itself, his greatest fear is that his wings could be injured, leaving him unable to fly. While he isn’t as fearless as he would like to be, he still shows bravery. Especially if others were in real danger, he would likely muster up the courage to try to save them even if it would put him at risk as well.
» Likes:
- Flight: Valen really enjoys soaring freely through the air. He feels lucky that he was hatched into a species that has this power, and somewhat pities those who were not so gifted.
- Adventuring: Valen has heard many stories of wonderful adventures and would like to have those kinds of stories told about him eventually. The fact that his own mother is an explorer makes him even more excited to follow that path himself.
- Sour foods: Among all flavors, Valen just likes sourness the most. He particularly enjoys eating sour Berries.
- Mirror Move: He likes knowing this move because he can use it to copy nearly any other move, even extremely powerful ones. It is very situational, and Valen generally can’t use copied moves that well, but he doesn’t really think about the downsides much.
» Dislikes:
- Siblings: Valen doesn’t actually have any siblings, but he dislikes even the thought of having any. His worry is that if it happens, he will constantly fight with them, or that his parents will stop liking him.
- Having to learn about type matchups: Valen isn’t the best at remembering all the interactions between types. He can pretty much always remember that Flying is weak to Electric, Ice, and Rock, because his parents considered that particularly important and were insistent that he remember his weaknesses, but there is a chance that he might forget any of the other matchups at a given time. He knows that types are important to know about, so he tries to remember them, but it still annoys him.
- Stories in which serious injury or death outright happen to the “good guys”: They remind him of the possibility that something like that could happen to him. Adventuring does carry risks, and Valen isn’t too worried about minor injuries or fainting by themselves, but he doesn’t want to think about terrible and potentially irreversible things that could happen.
- His ribbon: It feels uncomfortable, and it doesn’t do anything useful either. He still wears it because it is a gift from his parents, whom he does love, and he would have trouble trying to take it off by himself.
» History:
Valen’s mother, Naara, and father, Meso, were Toucannon who lived in Aileron Village. Naara was an independent explorer who went to various locations looking for treasure and new places to find. Meso enjoyed living a simple life in the village, but he was enchanted by Naara’s stories of her adventures, eventually leading to them falling in love with each other and having Valen.
Valen grew up hearing stories of adventure, especially those of Naara. Although Naara wasn't actually affiliated with a guild, Valen became particularly interested in the Aileron Guild from some stories about others that he heard and thought of joining it. However, Meso said he was too young and weak to go out exploring, and convinced Naara of this as well. Valen wasn’t particularly content with this, but he loved his parents and didn’t want to disobey them. He decided to train himself in his free time outside of school by doing things such as sparring with other young Pokémon, helping with small tasks, and learning his way around many places in the village.
He tended to do fine at those things, although generally not exceptionally well. For instance, he lost about as many battles as he won. Also, while he could fly normally, his single attempt at doing some fancy, difficult flying stunts ended with him crashing into a building. He ended up making a full recovery, but he never tried doing stunts like that again. He also had some times when he accidentally said something that offended others, most notably when he told a Joltik visitor to Aileron, as he was helping her get around, how terribly sorry he was for her because she was so small and couldn't fly. As he grew older and the Pokémon around him taught him, Valen did learn not to outright say things like that.
Finally, Valen was old enough that his parents ended up agreeing that he could go out on his own. They gave him a sky-blue ribbon as a gift to remember them by, and with the help of a Gligar who lived in Aileron Village, the ribbon was tied on his left leg so he could keep it easily. Valen then started to wonder whether he should immediately try to apply to the Aileron Guild or try exploring some actual dungeons before applying.
» Other:
The sky-blue ribbon on his leg is purely decorative and has no real effects.
