Spooky Scary Skeletons

Well...this was odd. The Lucario looked at the door of the cheatu, wondering just what mysteries this place could hold. She had only just learned of this place, it was strange really, this place had been here for years and yet it was only just recently discovered. She placed a paw on her hip, before looking over to her much larger red beast of an ally, "Well, here we are..."

The gyarados stared at the door, luckily the mansion door was absolutely huge, so he would be able to fit through it. He shrugged with the whiskers that hung from his face, incapable of shrugging with shoulders considering he had no arms or anything in general that could have assisted him in showing his current emotion.

The two had met at Grassveil, Proteus had looked bored, and Kira was looking for someone to go to this strange tower with. She was not one to socialize, but she wanted to go see what treasures this place had to offer. She definitely was not going to make a mission, that would just stick her with an exploration team!

The gyarados moved forward, grabbing onto the knob of the large door with a whisker and pulling the large door open, the door giving a loud and eerie creak, showing the insides of the house to seem like a large and empty room. Guess it was time to get moving...

"Please?" "No." "Please?" "No." "Please?" "No." "Please?" "No." "Please?" "If you don't shut up I'm gonna drag you back to Grassveil and lock you in my room." "Isn't that kinda kidnapping?" "Probably." "...."

"PLEEEEEEEEEEASE?" "I f*cking swear-" "LOOK THERE IT IS!"

This bickering had been going on for a while, an eevee having recently discovered that the glaceon who insisted on stalking her had something she wanted. A Soothe Bell. After an ordeal to get her Lunar Ribbon back, it was revealed that this glaceon had the other item required for the eevee to evolve into a creature of the night, an umbreon! This would have been good news, if the glaceon would just GIVE IT TO HER, but no, he was keeping it and forcing the eevee to not run off on him if she wanted it.

To Sova's relief, the bickering finally ended when they reached their destination. Dusk had bugged him that she'd heard of some new place that'd been recently discovered and she just HAD to go. Since revealing he had something she needed, she was much less interested in escaping, which was nice. However, it was kind of the opposite now, with the eevee not wanting to go anywhere without him. It wasn't all bad, though, since this place interested him as well. It was a new place to explore, one that seemed confusing and dangerous enough to be worth his time from what little he knew about it.

Dusk was a bit disappointed that the glaceon hadn't given in to her constant bugging yet and just given her the bell, but she was determined. She would get that bell eventually, whether it was from begging, being such an annoyance that the glaceon preferred throwing the bell at her rather than keeping it away, or proving she was "ready." She wanted him to be with her at all times so that she could succeed in one of these, though she figured that anyone being worth of anything in Sova's eyes was unlikely so she wasn't counting on that one.

As the two approached the door to the chateau, Dusk looked it up and down. However, Sova simply stared blankly at the crack in the middle that signaled that it was a double door, opened from the middle. He didn't bother looking it up and down like his eevee "friend", as he had seen the whole door from farther away and already knew it was big. He didn't care. What he did care about was what was inside, so he hurried up and opened it.... or tried. He pushed on it with a paw, but found it was a bit heavier than one paw could easily open due to the size, so he pressed his right shoulder against it and pushed. He made sure to open the door just enough to allow Dusk to get in while he held it, then he moved out of the way and into the chateau himself, letting the door creak behind him until it shut.

The room was dimply lit by candles on the walls and there didn't seem to be anyone else there. It didn't really look like what either of them expected from an entrance room, it seemed more of just.... well.... an empty room. There was a doorway in front of them about the same size as the main entrance, though it didn't actually have a door. Unbeknownst to the two, there was another pair of explorers who had entered the building just moments earlier.... through the same entrance.... yet they'd ended up in a completely different room.

Kira and Proteus had entered their room, ready to face the horrors this mansion would reveal to them.

The lucario did not seem nervous, she was calm and carefully analyzed what she saw. There seemed to be metal candle holders on the wall, they occasionally had a candle, but the candles were small, as if they had been burning for hours. However the wax did not seem to be going down any more, there were two doors in the room, three counting the entrance. She looked around, before...wait...there was only two doors now. She looked to where she had come, the entrance was gone!

Proteus had noticed the disappearance of the entrance before the Lucario, he had nervously looked behind them, only to see that the door closed automatically and swiftly sunk into the ground as if they had been elevated up. He had attempted to tell the Lucario, but she had already noticed.

"That's not a good thing is it?" Proteus asked, looking down to the lucario, a bit fearful.

The lucario crossed her arms, "No, but I guess that means there's no turning back now. Let's go, we're probably not going to find anything just by standing around. There's treasure to be found isn't there?" she smiled, the thought of the treasure making her rather giddy. If not for the morals that had been installed within her, this little lucario's greed might just get the better of her, and force her to the side of the outlaws.

The dragon like fish opened another door, pushing his way through it. Thing is, these rooms seemed to become much larger than the mansion itself. It looked more like the size of the submerged tower than how it looked on the outside. This was both struck a sigh of both relief and a feeling of fear. He would not have to be cramped, but then again he had no idea how this was even being possible. He opened the door, and looked to see what was in the next room...

Mere moments after entering the mansion, Dusk just couldn't help but dart off towards the big, open door in front of them. The room wasn't very large, so it only took a few seconds to get through the door. She stopped and looked around the room, larger than the last with a candle held on each corner, out of her reach and doors on every side. Then, she looked back through the open door to the glaceon who was taking his sweet time moving. "Hurry uuuuuuuuup!", she whined as she waited for the glaceon, quickly growing impatient as she just wanted to explore the rest of this place as quickly as possible.

Sova watched as the eevee bolted off ahead of him, taking a moment before following along. He took his time, not wanting to trip or fall into any traps. Supposedly, this place was extremely confusing and rumored to be haunted, so he was expecting some hidden dangers. The eevee attempted to rush him, but he wasn't going to let it work. "You can wait. Besides, you should be more careful in a place like this anyways, I don't want you getting hurt.", he replied as he reached the doorway to the larger room.

"You aren't my dad.", Dusk retorted.

Sova tilted his head to the left and looked down at the eevee. "....So?", Sova questioned.

"So don't act like it.", the eevee replied before turning and continuing to walk.
She was just contemplating which door to take when she noticed the ones to the left and right were.... gone. "W-.... where'd the doors go?", she questioned, mostly to her self as she looked back and forth between the left and right walls where doors had once been. They were closed this time, so she hadn't even gotten to see what was on the other side at all!

Sova rolled his eyes as he passed the eevee who had stopped in confusion. "Like I said, this place is dangerous. It supposedly makes no sense, sooo you should start expecting it not to go by what you call logic.", he explained to the eevee, eliciting a slight growl from her.
Despite seeming a bit annoyed at having to have something explained to her, the eevee still followed along.

Dusk growled as the glaceon explained to her why the rooms had disappeared, or at least did what he seemed to think sufficed as an explanation. "I wasn't talking to you....", she muttered, though she didn't receive a response.
Technically she wasn't lying as she was actually just talking to herself, but that wasn't the reason for her stating that. Honestly, the real reason was that she didn't like how the glaceon seemed to know so much more about this place than her, not being surprised at all by things like vanishing doors. She was a bit jealous.

As they entered the next room, they both looked around to see what awaited them. An even larger room, this time to the point that they were beginning to question the logic of this place. The only light was a chandelier holding more of the familiar candles hanging in the center of the room, but the room was so large that the walls were impossible to see through the darkness. Actually, they couldn't tell if there were walls at all since they couldn't see the walls, but they were both just going out on a limb and assuming that this place wasn't breaking quite THAT many laws of physics. "Stay close.", Sova requested of the eevee in a genuinely worried tone, albeit only slightly worried.

Dusk looked up to him for a moment, then to the chandelier. "Yeah.... don't worry.", she replied, not really being interested in wandering off into the dark unknown of this place alone. She wasn't scared, it just seemed really dangerous.

Proteus traveled through the door, slipping his way through into the next room. The large fish had moved completely through the door, looking around in case anything decided to attack. He turned to tell Kira that the coast was clear, but the door was gone! Panic rushed through him, where did she go? Nonono! His job was to be with her, help her out. This would be no good! He gave a loud and enraged bellow, a purple aura coating him as rage flowed through his body. He heaved into the wall and door, the entire wall gave way, crumbling at the large creature's strength and size. He opened his eyes in hopes of seeing the Lucario, but instead there was a small light blue thing. Where was she!? The Outrage was gripping him, causing his mind to become fogged. He gave another bellow of Rage, the attack making it difficult to keep calm, cool and collected.

"Well that's unfortunate..." Kira blinked as the gyarados disappeared behind a door before the door disappeared all together. She sighed, well, there went the point of bringing the gyarados along in the first place. She made her way over to a door, opening it only for a brown fur ball to rush past her legs and into her room. She cried out in surprise and let go of the door, only for that door to disappear and reappear in a different place on the wall.
"What the...?" she spoke, looking towards the brown creature, "Aww it's an eevee!" she chuckled. The fluffy creatures were commonly known, and rather adorable in her book, "What are you doing in such a scary place?" she asked it.

The two eeveelutions made their way to the center of the room, dimly illuminated by the chandelier. They both seemed to silently agree to just keep walking and hope to reach a door as they continued forward. To their relief, there was indeed a door. However, they couldn't SEE it. Dusk trying to take the lead ended in her bumping into a wall. However, upon feeling around, she could tell it was a door. She put her shoulder against the door and pushed it open just barely enough to slip through, then waited for Sova to follow. However, that didn't happen. Actually, the opposite happened.... the door seemed to just run away from her, quickly moving to the left faster than she could chase it and eventually disappearing into the corner of the room she was now in. She backed away, actually beginning to get a bit worried at this nonsense....

Sova followed the eevee, seeing that she was trying very hard to be the leader and figuring he would just let her. When she finally found a door, he followed her through it of course.... or.... he tried to. However, he simply hit a wall. He tried pressing onto it with his paws, but to no avail. The door was gone! "Oh.... o-oh no.... OH NO, no no no no!", he frantically muttered to himself as he quickly began to panic. His fur flash-froze into a spiky coat of armor and he bolted along the wall, scraping his tail against it in an attempt to feel for a door. He found one and immediately burst through it, but to his dismay, there was no eevee. There was just a room with a few candles scattered about on the ground. Some were tipped over, though they didn't seem to be threatening to cause a fire, just sitting there and continuing to harmlessly burn.

Dusk looked to the left, then to the right, finding no doors, just more candles. She then spun around and to her relief, there was a door. She bolted off towards it, though the room seemed to.... stretch as she ran, confusing her. The door was dragged away from her and for a moment she was worried this was going to go on forever, trapping her in an endless loop. It did stop after a moment, though, allowing her to ram into the door, or try to. As she tried to just run through the doorway and probably hurt herself, it was opened for her and she came blazing through and right past what ever had opened the door. She managed to come to a stop and turned around to see a lucario. Wait, a lucario? Wasn't this place supposed to be a ghost haven? Lucarios weren't ghosts as far as she knew....

"Uh.... hi....", she replied, not sure how to react.
On one hand she was kind of being complimented, but on the other hand she felt like the way the lucario was talking was a bit.... belittling. Still, she was kind of down an ally at the moment, so she didn't exactly have much room to be picky and the lucario seemed nice enough. "I'm exploring. I've got a.... friend.... but we.... uuuuuuuuh.... got separated.", she explained, choosing to leave out the part about them just getting separated because she wanted to lead the way.
It wasn't her fault if her ally couldn't or didn't want to keep up.

Sova immediately bolted through the room towards the center, where most of the candles seemed to be. It was a bit creepy, actually. They were arranged in what seemed to be a rather circular pattern, with a gap in the middle with no candles at all, right where he was standing. He tried to decide on which path to take, doors being located both to the left and to the right. He looked back the way he came, only to see the door he'd come through was gone, which honestly was to be expected at this point. Just as he'd picked a door and bolted towards it, it vanished, prompting him to stop only a few feet away from the wall. Before he could even turn around, the majority of the wall came toppling down to reveal.... a gyarados? A shiny gyarados? What was a shiny gyarados doing here?

Whatever this thing was doing here, it didn't exactly seem happy and he didn't really have time for it. Still, he didn't really have time to FIGHT it either and it hadn't attacked him yet or even said anything threatening. "Well hello to you too. I can see you're having a bad day, but so am I, so if you wouldn't mind moving so I can find my friend that'd be great.", he tried to reason to the beast, REALLY not wanting to get into a fight with a gyarados in the middle of a living maze when Dusk was lost somewhere and probably needed help.

The Outrage clouded Proteus's vision, he gave another ear splitting roar, before turning away from the glaceon, trying to focus the rush he got from Outrage onto finding Kira. He bashed into another door, knocking down another door. He did not quite hear what the Glaceon was saying, but luckily he managed to fight the urge to attack the first thing he saw. His resistance did not quite do as well when it came to the second thing however, when he bashed into another wall, it revealed a Sableye merely standing there. The energy of the outrage took over and he slammed his tail into the sableye. The ghost type cried out as it was thrown, and some if its friends popped out of the wall, not looking too happy.

Kira's ears perked, "Lost a friend? I did too, he's kinda big so it's kinda hard too lose him, but this house is strange..." She looked to the door, wondering what had happened to Proteus. She looked back to the eevee, finally resisting the urge to squeal over how adorable it was.
"I would ask if you had seen him but I kind of JUST lost him so it's kind of impossible for you to have seen him, are you okay though?"

"Oookay then.... have fun with that.", Sova commented, mostly to himself as he watched the gyarados simply turn and hit things, first another wall then a sableye. For a moment, he was just considering leaving, as even though a good fight would normally be something he would readily volunteer for, he needed to find Dusk. However, after a moment of consideration he decided that having a friend who could literally tear walls down could be useful in finding Dusk. What better way to earn such a friend than to help the gyarados beat random things half to death? Besides, all of the doors in the room seemed to have disappeared, the only one left being what used to be a wall. However, there was a door on the other side of the next room....

He bolted in front of the gyarados as creatures began seemingly phasing through the walls. Of course, Ghost-Types with their ability to just walk through things. He bolted into a drifloon, biting onto one of its leg.... things as it tried to escape and pulling it to the ground with a "thud" sound. A sableye attempted to slash him with a purple glow around its hands, but he simply backed up slightly to avoid the Shadow Claw before retaliating by spinning his tail into its side and swatting it out of the way.

Since there were no more enemies within his immediate reach, the glaceon bolted forward and bit onto an arm coming out of a wall, pulling the yamask out and tossing it to the ground. As it tried to get up, he slammed his tail down on it and ceased its efforts. He then fired a Shadow Ball at a shuppet that seemed more interested in the gyarados than him, striking it directly and knocking it out of the air. Then a gastly rose up from the ground in front of him, which of course prompted him to spin around and swing his tail at it, though he simply phased through it and didn't really seem to hurt it much. Great, that meant Ice Shard probably wasn't gonna be easy to hit this thing with. Before he could prepare another Shadow Ball, however, it.... IT.....

LICKED HIM. IN THE FACE. He recoiled in confusion and wiped his face with a paw as he tried to register what'd just happened. "D-.... DID.... DID YOU JUST.... LICK ME!?", he questioned in his confusion.
It didn't exactly hurt, it was just.... REALLY confusing. He'd never really just been licked by something out of the blue like that. At least not that he could remember, and he was fairly certain he would have remembered something like that happening in the past. The gastly simply stared at him with its tongue out, as if it was prepared to lick him again.

Dusk shrugged at the question of her health. "I'm not hurt, so I guess I'm fine. I just lost my friend too, he's a glaceon and you'll know if you see him. His attitude.... ah.... sticks out.", she replied to the lucario, though her words weren't entirely true.
Honestly, the glaceon wasn't really her "friend", he just happened to have a certain bell she really wanted and if she lost him, well, she couldn't really get the bell. She wasn't at all worried for the glaceon's safety though, he could take care of himself.

She looked around the current room, seeing that the doors had changed from what she'd remembered them being during the brief time she'd looked at them. Now, the only door was.... on the ground? "I don't think this house likes us very much.", she commented as she stared at the door in the ground.
Were they expected to just.... open it and jump through? No more doorways seemed to be appearing anywhere else. It was starting to seem like the house was alive and just trying to mess with the two groups.

Kira knelt down and turned the knob of the door cautiously, only for the door to suddenly become unhinged and drop to the floor below. It gave off a loud clattering noise and then fell still. Kira looked down, she figured she would be able to take the fall without breaking anything, but what about the Eevee? She looked around, checking to see if there were any more doors, before taking a deep breath. She closed her eyes and focused, releasing pulse of aura to try and look at what was in the room. It seemed to be...completely empty!
"I could carry you down...I don't think it would be safe for you to just jump down there without breaking something," she offered and voiced her concerns.

Proteus, still in Outrage mode, gave another furious roar as more enemies popped up from the ground, a Drifblim lowering itself from the ceiling to meet the Gyarados. However, it merely was struck down by a strange blue flame. A Flamethrower had gone about, roasting the leftovers before being Bitten and tossed about like a rag doll by the outraged gyarados. Once everything seemed to stop moving except for those fleeing and those still fighting the glaceon, the purple aura around him faded and the fog cleared his mind. He blinked, feeling light headed, "Wha?" he spoke before the drifblim rose once more, not happy at all by this situation. The drifblim then began to prepare a shadow ball, ready to fire it at the Confused and Dazed Gyarados.

Sova fired a Shadow Ball at the gastly in front of him without hesitation, knocking it out quite easily. He then continued wiping his face with his paw for a moment before noticing that his new ally had stopped attacking. It seemed like there was still an enemy who was standing and interested in fighting, but the gyarados didn't really look prepared for the attack. He sighed as he realized he needed to help this thing out, though it wasn't all bad, since this would probably get him on even better terms with the "dragon." Honestly, gyarados weren't really dragons.... more like.... tofu dragons, or diet dragons. They didn't have Dragon typing, but everyone seemed to consider them dragons regardless.

The glaceon fired one more Shadow Ball, hitting the drifblim in the back and enveloping it in a dark explosion. When the dark aura cleared, the Ghost-Type was on the ground, knocked out. "Some party.", he joked as he cautiously approached the gyarados, still not knowing if it was actually friendly.

"Hmmmm....", Dusk sounded as she considered the option presented to her, looking down through the doorway and being careful not to fall in. Honestly, she didn't WANT to jump, but she didn't really want to accept some stranger's help either, at least not if she could do it her self. It didn't seem like too far of a drop, one that would probably hurt but if she did it right, probably wouldn't cause any serious injuries. Still, it seemed much easier to just allow the lucario to pick her up.

"Alright, but not because I can't do it my self.... I CAN do it my self.... Just.... it'd hurt.", she finally replied, allowing the lucario to pick her up.

"Wha...? What party?" Proteus blinked, his mind still dazed from the confusion caused by the attack. He looked to the glaceon, wondering what had happened, "Kira...did you evolve or somethin? De-evolve? No..that's not possible..." he mumbled to himself, trying to set his own mind straight so that he could understand the situation.

Kira picked up the eevee, ignoring her babbling about her being able to do it on her own. The eevee would probably go splat if she did, but Kira figured she was trying to retain her dignity or something. She hopped down, the landing being rather harsh and causing her to flinch, but no broken bones or snapping and cracking sounds to be heard. She put the eevee back down, before spotting a strange chest. The curiosity and greed took over as she neared the chest, it seemed like one of those old family heirlooms that had not been touched in ages and was abandoned. She opened the chest, to find many items within.

"Oh...Treasure!" she smiled, satisfied with her find.

Sova almost instantly came to the conclusion that his new ally either had memory problems or was a complete idiot, not sure which one to hope for. "Uhg.... yeah, sure, lets just go.", he agreed, not caring if he was mistaken for someone named Kira. Though Kira sounded like a girl's name and he was fairly certain his voice didn't sound girly, so he wasn't sure how the gyarados could mistake him for who ever Kira was.
Maybe she was an eevee or another eeveelution? Clearly, this Kira must have looked similar to him in some way to be confused for him.... right?

He began walking, expecting the gyarados to follow him and not really interested in wasting time trying to explain the situation if he didn't have to. The door on the other side of the room was still there, as were the wrecked remains of what used to be a wall. He was just hoping this door wouldn't run away from them.

Dusk was happy to not have to be carried for too long, the drop not taking very long. It seemed like her new friend didn't have much of an attention span, immediately getting sidetracked by a treasure chest. She wasn't really interested in the treasure, but still wanted to know what it was, so she peeked inside to see a few interesting things. The first thing that caught her attention was.... boxes.... "Chests within a chest, because that's not pointless at all.", she joked before noticing some weird berries she didn't recognize.

"Hey, are those berries? I've never seen any berries that look like that before.", she questioned, figuring maybe the lucario would know since she didn't.

The confusion at last cleared, and Proteus was able to think straight. He looked to 'Kira' to find that she was in fact a he and it looked nothing like a lucario.
"O-Oh! Sorry about that sir," he spoke, "Outrage kind of messes up my mind when I use it."
The gyarados moved along with the glaceon, hoping he was not too angry with him. Proteus looked around at the fainted pokemon, giving a slight sigh. He had lost it again, outrage was such a powerful move, yet he STILL lacked control of it! It was pathetic really, he was pathetic, the oshawott handled it so easily, and yet he had such difficulty with it! It was just so stupid.

Kira picked up and examined one of the berries as she was questioned on their appearance. They seemed to have a reddish pink color to them, and reminded her of Cheri Berries except they held a more floral design to them rather than cherry.
"Not sure," she spoke, wondering what the berry was herself, "I'll take it to the library and figure out what it is when we get out of here," she decided, placing the item in her bag, "Here, you want some of it?" she offered, thinking that Dusk should get part of the share considering technically she helped her discover this treasure.

"Outrage. That explains a lot. Well, don't worry about it, I don't really care how many random things you hit. Just, if you see an eevee, don't hit her.", Sova replied to the gyarados, clearly not bothered.
He wasn't really one to judge for something like that anyways, considering he had a slightly similar situation that was probably much worse.
He didn't waste any time in pushing his way through the door, coming out the other side. Unbeknownst to him, the shattered wall on the other side of the room seemed to disappear, with another door appearing along with it. As he went through the first door, he came out through the new door on the other side of the room, seeing the gyarados from a behind view.

"That.... is NOT fair....", he stated in annoyance, mostly talking to the house as at this point it really seemed to him that this place was very much alive and had a sense of humor.
Well, he wasn't going to play this house's games, because he didn't have to. There was a GYARADOS with him, one who'd already proven capable of breaking down walls. If the doors were going to lead them in circles, the gyarados could just make a new one!

Dusk nodded in agreement at the lucario's decision to take the berries to get checked. They could be toxic or something, anyways. Then it was offered for her to take some of the treasure, which surprised her, since she wasn't the one who'd found it. Still, she wasn't going to turn down such an offer! "Really? Yeah, thanks!", she happily accepted the offer, picking up a few little orbs and.... realizing she had nothing to keep them in. "Oh.... I don't have a bag....", she muttered. "Can you carry them for me?"

Proteus knew what he must do, he reared back before slamming his head-ornament into the wall. The wall cracked and snapped like glass before shattering and falling. Proteus found that a rather long passage way had appeared before him. He blinked, and then realized that this was probably the Ruined Passageway. He looked to Sova, "Over here, found something," he spoke, "By the way, my name is Proteus," he spoke as he realized he had not yet introduced himself.

Kira nodded and placed the items in her bag to carry them for the little eevee. She noticed that another door had appeared in the room without their knowing. She stood up and moved towards it cautiously. She opened it and found a room with a large red gyarados and a Glaceon, "Proteus!" she called, happy to see her friend again. She looked to the eevee, "Come on, my friend is over here,"

Proteus looked towards the source of the familiar voice, "Oh, there you are Kira," he spoke, "I found the way to the next place," he motioned towards the large wall he had caused to crumble with seemingly a never ending passageway.
