Yulippe Island Arc - One Piece RP (II) Empty
PostSubject: Yulippe Island Arc - One Piece RP (II)   Yulippe Island Arc - One Piece RP (II) EmptyMon Jun 22, 2015 6:51 pm

Still clinging to life the day retained it's light, the sun having not yet begun to set, though it was early evening. The taste and smell of salt lingered in the air, a permanent accompaniment to the gentle sound of the ocean's waves. The occasional presence of gull or two and their accompanying wing flaps would only serve to complete the picturesque view.

Shiori sat with her legs dangling over the rail-edge of the fishing boat, her bright green eyes hidden behind her eyelids. The tawny haired captain found herself breathing in deeply as she took in the atmosphere of the ocean around her with her other senses. The scents of the ocean were those she had come to associate with a sense of freedom, and with their constant presence since they had left Carat Isle two days ago, Shiori felt content.

A sharp tug on the rod she clutched in her hands brought Shiori back to reality, her eyes flying open as a broad grin spread across her face and she hopped to her feet. Despite the dangers, Shiori managed to balance quite skillfully on the rails, as if she'd done it a thousand times before.

"Oi Caim! I think I finally caught something!" she grinned, "I bet it's gonna be massive and it'll kick the asses of all the fish you've managed to catch!" she laughed, tugging back on her line and hopping off of the rails and onto the deck so that she had a larger surface area to brace her feet against.

The afternoon-to-evening fishing competition had been Shiori's idea, since the fishing boat they'd 'recycled' had happened to have a few spare rods on board. However the odds were not in her favour so far, as she'd managed to fish up exactly nothing. It wasn't much of a surprise that she was beginning to get bored of reeling in an empty hook, but each new tug on her line seemed to bring new hope that she might finally catch something.

Since the two had departed from Carat Isle two days ago Caim had been at the wheel for the majority of the time, only having taken short breaks to rest and sleep when he was sure they were in a safe area. Of course he had noted Shiori's somewhat reckless habit of hanging her legs over the safety railing, however he'd left it be, she was the captain after all.

Once the two had eventually stopped and found themselves fishing Caim viewed it as a sensible idea, he'd been sailing for hours without a solid break after all, as the helmsman his job was to ensure they reached their location after all. In comparison to Shiori's rather poor fishing performance Caim actually was doing rather well, having already fished up a variety of large fish, possibly for lunch... he wasn't much of a cook but he was decent enough as to not give anyone food poisoning.

"Maybe... or you'll just miss again" Caim chuckled, having been standing behind the railing a short distance further up the boat.

Shiori ignored the urge to respond to Caim's little taunt and instead focused her efforts on tugging the end of her line back out of the water. Eventually with one last tug, the line broke free of the waves and Shiori toppled backwards, landing in a sitting position on the deck as the rod clattered to the ground in front of her.

With a groan, Shiori grabbed the end of the line and held it up so she could get a good look at what she'd caught. The tawny haired captain had finally managed to catch something but it was the smallest fish she'd ever seen in her life and couldn't have been more than an inch or so long in length.

With a sigh, Shiori lay back on the deck in defeat, the hook and attached fish still held in the air.
"A tiny fish like that couldn't pull on my line that much, surely!?" she wailed, her lips curling into a slight frown that bordered along looking like a pout of disappointment.

Sitting back up with a small sigh, she watch the tiny fish, still attached to the end of the hook, wiggle in the air in front of her.
"Well~, at least it's something," she relented with a small chuckle, freeing the fish from the end of the line and wandering over to Caim, "What do you reckon? Tiny mouthful of tastiness? Or should I just throw it back?"

PostSubject: Re: Yulippe Island Arc - One Piece RP (II)   Yulippe Island Arc - One Piece RP (II) EmptyThu Jul 02, 2015 10:37 am

Caim looked towards the Captain and chuckled as she toppled backwards, had she truly caught something decent? Or had she just pulled up a old piece of garbage that had been dumped, he'd it amusing if it as the latter, just the image of Shiori fighting with an old boot or something. As she began to complain about the size of her catch Caim had to fight the temptation to burst into laughter, after all the suspence she caught something so tiny.

"Well, you did win a way, you caught the smallest fish" Caim spoke, if there was a trophy for smallest fish ever caught she'd definitely be a contender. As she moved over with the fish and asked for his opinion Caim shook his head. "Throw it back, it's just a normal fish and it'd just be a bit awkward to use, it's more bone and scale than meat... Do you want to call that the end?" Caim responded, it was getting to the point they probably should get the fish into the hold and get moving again.

"I suppose you're right," she chuckled, as if satisfied with the title of catching the smallest fish. Ever. Turning to the side of the ship once more, she cupped the tiny fish in both hands, preparing to throw it back into the ocean.

"You know it's a shame we don't have a fishbowl or something to keep it as a pet," mused Shiori before she threw the small scaled creature back out into the open water. It was so small that once it hit the gentle waves it was hard to watch it as it swam away, back into the depths of it's home.

Turning back to Caim, Shiori grinned, "Alright you win this time. I hereby name you expert fisherman of the Chime Pirates until further notice," she laughed, grabbing some of Caim's much larger catches and starting to take them into the hold.

As she wandered away Shiori couldn't help but wonder how they would go about cooking these fish. At least they wouldn't be running out of food anytime soon.

"Alright, I'll pull up the Anchor and get us moving again. The map indicates a civilian island not far from here so I'll head us in that direction" Caim spoke as he walked over towards where the Anchor had been set down. He merely stared at the chain, which quickly began moving upwards as if it had it's own will. As the chain pulled upwards the Anchor quickly rose. Making sure that it'd land safely without damaging the vessel, he turned and headed back up towards tone wheel of the vessel.

Using his telekinetic prowess to make the Sails unwind and enter the correct positioning. Spinning the wheel once to reset it's positioning, the vessel began to move. He didn't realize he forgot to alert the captain, he was having one of his more 'forgetful' moments.

Yulippe Island Arc - One Piece RP (II) Empty
PostSubject: Re: Yulippe Island Arc - One Piece RP (II)   Yulippe Island Arc - One Piece RP (II) EmptySat Jul 11, 2015 11:38 pm

Having headed down into the hold, Shiori missed Caim's words but came back up onto deck empty handed now that the fish were stored away and grinning to find that the ship was moving again. She settled down in a corner of the deck for the time being and took out a white notebook with a silver wave pattern on the front. t looked a little worn around the edges, having been in Shiori's pocket back at the marine base, and multiple previous scuffles in the last few years of the her life. Leafing through the notebook's filled pages, the captain realised that there weren't that many empty pages left in the small book.

Glancing up to Caim, the small frown that had appeared on her face at the space in her notebook running out was immediately replaced by a small smile. Her first crew member. Perhaps she could buy a new notebook now that she really was a captain of her own crew.

Placing the white notebook open on the deck on an empty page and hovering over it to protect it from the ocean's spray, Shiori rifled through her pockets until she found what she was looking for. The small pencil looked like it had been sharpened using a knife point, the uneven edges of the wood at it's tip giving it quite a messy look. The pencil was barely an inch in length, but somehow the tawny haired captain managed to scrawl on one of the last few pages in her, surprisingly rather neat, handwriting.

A few minutes and some very necessary doodling later, Shiori grinned, happy with her work and tucked both pencil and notebook back in her pockets. With one last look at the pencil she figured maybe she could do with a new one of those at some point too.

Roughly half a day later, Shiori was clinging to the wood that held up the sails, having climbed up to get a better look at what lay ahead of them on the horizon. She excitedly called down to Caim, pointing forwards.
"Island ahead!" she called loudly, grinning at the sight of the small island. The lack of a crows nest on the fishing boat hadn't deterred Shiori's wish to act as lookout, and it looked like the idea had paid off - at least for her.

Yulippe Island Arc - One Piece RP (II) Empty
PostSubject: Re: Yulippe Island Arc - One Piece RP (II)   Yulippe Island Arc - One Piece RP (II) EmptySun Jul 12, 2015 12:13 am

It was a peaceful day, a few clouds dotted the bright, blue sky. The air smelled of salt, fish and many herbs and spices. Just another day on the bustling island known as Yulippe. The island was small, but very rich in fertile soil. There was only one main town, with the rest of the island giving its inhabitants their cash crops. The farmlands here could grow just about anything, which is why trade was plentiful, and why pirates came and went everyday. Usually the pirates didn't do much to the townsfolk, most just doing their business then heading off. But every once in a while, there came the ones that didn't care about prices, always harassing the citizens for lower prices. They usually complied with them, as to avoid trouble.

A young man with chocolate-colored hair and sparkling, sky blue eyes was walking down the road filled with people, looking to get some spices for dinner tonight. Once he started to sweat in the heat of the sun, he found a nice tree to sit under for shade. The dark clothing he was wearing didn't help much, but he didn't really care. Soon, his mind wandered to the dream he had just before waking up. Or rather the nightmare he had before awaking:

A young girl and a young boy were at a stall, selling multiple goods. The pirates that had appeared earlier had wanted some spices, but at a fraction of the original price. The young boy was about to give it to them, when the girl stopped him, asking for the full price. Her light brown hair blew in the wind, silence falling upon the nearby area. One of the pirates talked about the dangers of disobeying them, and how high his bounty was. The girl didn't seem the care, demanding to full price.

"Zoe, please, just do as they say." The boy said to his older sister, fear obvious in his voice, She didn't listen, continuing to ask for the full price. It seemed the pirate was going to attack, when an older man jumped in front of him, telling him he would sort it out.

"Too late, she disrespected me, she pays the price." Said the burly pirate , slashing the man with his sword. He then walked up to the girl and boy, but his cutlass on the girl's neck. "Any last words?"

She nodded, careful of the blade, and turned to her brother, and wiped away his tears. "Everything will be alright, Hayes, don't worry." He couldn't take it, his sobbing became harder, his tears flooded his face, and his eyes became bloodshot. Then it happened, the color draining out of her face, blood flowing down from her mouth and neck, the image burned in his mind. The once lively , green eyes were dead, yet she still smiled, almost looking happy. He hurried and gave the man the spices for free, took the rest of the goods and ran home with his sisters body.

Then he woke up in a cold sweat.

Yulippe Island Arc - One Piece RP (II) Empty
PostSubject: Re: Yulippe Island Arc - One Piece RP (II)   Yulippe Island Arc - One Piece RP (II) EmptyWed Jul 15, 2015 10:12 am

"Affirmative, proceeding to Dock" Caim called to Shiori, his tone seeming relatively calm and collected, especially when taking the situation into account. "Turning to Port, be prepared" Caim called once more to the Captain, wanting to keep her updated on what was happening... He wouldn't want her falling off after all, especially since Caim couldn't swim.

Approaching the Island that the map identified as 'Yulippe', Caim slowed the ships speed and slowly eased the vessel into port, coming to a perfect stop within the harbour. "Process complete, now get down from there" Caim spoke, a chuckle being detectable within the last part, they didn't need her up there any longer after all.

Quickly getting up and heading onto the dock, Caim took a moment to look around. It seemed relatively peaceful at the moment, if a little noisy due to the presence of so many people, much unlike his home or the previous island. The smell of the ocean combined with crops and spices was a new one to Caim... This must've been an island focused upon trading procured or produced crops, herbs and spices... Perhaps they could get some more supplies here to replace what they had used during the trip.

PostSubject: Re: Yulippe Island Arc - One Piece RP (II)   Yulippe Island Arc - One Piece RP (II) EmptyThu Jul 16, 2015 11:13 am

Shiori had an almost overwhelming urge to leap into the ocean after they docked at the island's port. Her high position on the boat's sails was almost perfect for a makeshift diving board, however the captain held off as she realised she'd end up sopping wet as they explored the island as she didn't really have any other clothes with her.

Hopping neatly down from her perch and landing on the deck, she patted down her coat to check that she had everything that belonged to her.
"You don't have to be so formal about landing the boat if you don't want to, by the way," she commented with a small chuckle, glancing over to Caim, "It's not like i'll call you out for it or anything."

Stretching her arms into the air, she wandered towards the edge of the boat and hopped off, stepping foot on the island with a grin and she looked back at Caim who had done the same.
"That said, if you prefer it that way I don't mind that either," she shrugged, her arms dropping back down to her sides now that they were thoroughly stretched.

Shiori paused as she too smelled the air, closing her eyes for a brief moment to fully take in the scent of various herbs and spices that tickled her nostrils. With a thoughtful look, she spoke aloud.
"I wonder if they have any exotic fish stalls on the island," she mused as she wandered towards the bustling market area, "Anything in particular that you want to find whilst we're here?" she continued, asking Caim with a curious smile.

PostSubject: Re: Yulippe Island Arc - One Piece RP (II)   Yulippe Island Arc - One Piece RP (II) EmptyThu Jul 16, 2015 11:47 am

Back in the present, ice blue eyes started examining the herbs at the stand. Damn, they don't have the spice I need for tonight. Although, we are almost out of cilantro. And our basil supply is running low. Hayes thought to himself, running a hand through his coffee-colored, shaggy hair. But then I may not have enough Beli. This is a predicament and a half! In the end, he decided to buy a little bit of cilantro and basil, just in case, and moved onto the next stall. Still no cinnamon. It was so hard to come by this time of the year, why did his mom want to have the one dish that uses a whole tablespoon of the damned spice? And he needed to make it five times for the party tonight.

He continued to search around, but couldn't find a grain of salt. Or cinnamon, rather. It was already almost noon, and he couldn't keep looking for them. The dinner he had planned took a while to create, and he needed to make a lunch. No one told him be a chef would be this hard, but he loved it anyways. Around a half hour before noon, he decided to go home, when the scent of something got his attention. It smelled like... Cinnamon! He was saved! He rushed towards the stall the smell came from, not laying much attention to what was in front of him other than the smell.

"I prefer it since it allows myself to alert others upon the ship to brace themselves... It's how I was taught. Regarding if there would be anything of interest, not at the moment, I'd rather see what we can find first" Caim responded, shrugging somewhat as he stepped forwards, intending to explore what he could of the island.

Considering the strong scents of many forms of spices, Caim understood that this would be a decent enough place for the acquisition of supplies for food and such, he had to remain focused on the task at hand. "Shall we, captain?" He spoke as he motioned for her to lead... He intended to follow her lead and keep her out of trouble.

"Fair enough," Shiori conceded before continuing to head towards the busy market, vaguely aware of Caim trailing behind her. As she walked she lost herself in her thoughts, reaching the market and glancing around, wondering if the place was always this busy. If it was, it must be a somewhat popular stop for ships so they should probably be at least a little cautious in case there was some form of marine presence on the island.

It wasn't like they had bounties yet or anything, but marines definitely had their ways of communicating when necessary and if there was a marine base on this island it was entirely possible that they could have been alerted to the possibility of them docking here. Then again, in all the chaos of leaving Carat Isle it was also possible that the marines hadn't really noticed and they were perfectly fine-

The tawny haired captain was thrown from her thoughts of caution by a head on collision with a guy who appeared to be somewhat taller than her. He appeared to be in a rush and Shiori hadn't noticed him in her thoughts. This was what observation haki was for... she really needed to work on that when she got chance. The captain caught herself before she was knocked over and stumbled a few steps backward in her recovery.

She grinned up at the brown haired guy curiously.
"You alright there?" she asked, more concerned about the stranger than herself. Though he looked to be okay it was always worth checking, especially if it prevented some unneeded tension between the locals.

Hayes was in too big a rush to really watch where he was going. His only sense working was his sense of smell currently. That was until reality came back from the realm of cinnamon when he suddenly bumped into a girl who seemed to be around his age and a bit shorter, too, although it was hard to tell, in that moment. He almost didn't hear her when she asked if he was alright. "Yeah, I'm all right. I'm sorry about that, Miss." He said politely with a smile on his face. Anywho, I've got to buy some cinnamon for something I'm making tonight. Have a nice day!"

As he turned away from the girl, the sudden coolness of the sea breeze washed his face on a salty smell. It was pleasant, blowing his brown hair around, making it look a bit messy, but in a neat way. His sky blue eyes shined once more as the smell lf cinnamon overtook him once more.

Caim slowed down, looking at the small scene before him between his Captain and what appeared to be a civilian. Seeing how the Captain and the Civilian were basically fine, he turned his attention to the stalls amongst the market. Finding himself wondering over to a certain stall that had drawn his attention, he began looking through the wares.

The said wares were actually books written about the many recorded events of history that remained, a topic that greatly interested Caim. "Interesting..." Caim mumbled... He'd lost track of the time and who he had been following though, Shiori would probably end up finding trouble in some form.
