Joy to the Forest, and Everything Else

The small, berry filled Pecha Forest. It was just as normal as it was when Brian first came there a while back. The trees were still covered with berries from leaf to leaf, bushes were still flooding the area, and the sunlight coming through the trees gave everything a cool little shine. The main difference between the other time Brian had been here and this time were what was around his neck. Brian was wearing the Joy Ribbon he obtained from some Pokemon in Blackmist, and he couldn't be happier.

"Man, I still can't believe that I actually got one of these ribbons. They're so rare, but I managed to get one so easily. This will make my road to becoming stronger go so much smoother." Brian said, fantasizing about how much faster this whole process will be now that he has the Joy Ribbon. Maybe he'll encounter something else just as interesting as he continues his walk through the forest.

Energy: 24 - 5 = 19

The Tepig was walking throughout Pecha Forest, knowing that he could find some more ingredients there. Oh, the Pecha Berries were good, but what he really needed was much rarer here.  He needed Apples.

"Why did I even go here to search for Apples," Jake muttered, "Probably because I could get here easily."  The Fire Pig was so lost in his thoughts, he almost ran right into a Chimchar that was walking along.  He only brushed into the shoulder of the other Fire type.

Jake's daze was then lifted and he said, quite calmly,  "Oh, sorry, didn't see you there.  Really didn't see anything.  Lost in my mind, you know?"  The Fire type turned around and stood quite proudly, as if he was declared Supreme Ruler of the World, and introduced himself.  "Hey, I'm Jake, and you are?"

Energy 25-5=20

As he continued to walk, Brian felt something bump into him from behind. He turned around to see that a small pig like Pokemon had been the thing that bumped into him. He recognized the pig as a Tepig, due to being friends with one in his youth. It was nice to finally come across a Pokemon he actually knew the name of, made for a nice change of pace from all the other weird encounters he's had.

"Oh, don't worry about. These things happen sometimes. I know I'm guilty of bumping into people on multiple occasions." Brian said, chucking as he remembered some humorous moments started by this same act of bumping into other Pokemon. "Name's Brian. Nice to meet you Jake. So, what are you doing out here?" Brian said.

Jake nodded, and started to speak all about his plans. "Well, I want to make a Restaurant, name it 'Jake's Hog Fest', you see. But I can't open it until I get enough ingredients for basic food. So I've been traveling around, trying to find all of the things I need. Right now I'm trying to find some Apples and some Oran Berries, probably gonna grab some Pecha Berries, too."

The Fire Pig looked around at the tree, hoping to find what he was looking for in the branches. Sadly, none were found, not even some Pecha Berries. "That's weird, I can't even spot any Pecha Berries." The Tepig said confused. "What do you think, Brian?"

"A restaurant huh? That's a cool idea. Though I'm not really an expert on constructing those sort of things...or fine dining....or anything or the sort, but I can help you find berries here if you want. That is something I can do." Brian said as he made a wide grin. Growing up in a battle focused village, he never really learned how to do anything but battle and survive. However, he could at least use those skills to help out this Tepig. He looked around the area trying to find any berries he could, but was coming up empty handed.

"Hmm, I can't really find anything either. Maybe we just have to move to a different part of the forest or something. Maybe then we'll find some berries." Brian proposed.

The Tepig nodded in agreement, and started to lead the way deeper into the forest. "Hope no wild Pokemon attack us," Jake voiced, probably a little too loudly. "Oops, I think I jinxed us, sorry, Brian."

Jake stopped suddenly, looked around, and listened for an rustling in the bushes. "Doesn't seem like anything's here yet." He said, still looking around. "Be alert for anything that could be dangerous, OK, Brian?" He looked over his shoulder quickly at Brian, but saw something else in the dark green bushes behind him. It disappeared before he could get a good look at it without sound.

"Be very cautious, I thought I saw something in the bushes back there." The Fire Pig said, with an hint of fear in his voice, but he looked even more energized. "It might be closer now, but I can be sure. But if there is something, it's definitely trying to be silent and hidden."

"Don't worry about it. If any Wild Pokemon come at us, I'll be able to take care of them with no problem at all." Brian said confidently as a response to the Tepig's caution. Truth be told, Brian knew that in reality he couldn't handle everything that could potentially come out of these bushes. However, what he did know was that this forest seemed to be the tamest when it came to the wild Pokemon that appeared. This meant that regardless of what appeared, the two Fire types could most likely handle whatever came to face them.

"Okay, you just make sure that you can be alert to just in case a wild Pokemon decides to attack you first." Brian said as he resumed searching for the berries, keeping an eye on his surroundings.

The Tepig heard the Murkrow rush at him through the wind, and before it could attack, Jake jumped above it and landed on it.  The Flying type looked up at him, and the Flamethrower hit him full on in the face.  Jake looked back quickly to see another Pokemon flying at Brian.

"Look out!"  The Fire type called out to the Chimchar.  "Hoothoot coming right at you!"

He looked back at the Murkrow, and got pecked on the nose, where a scratch had just appeared.  The Tepig jumped off and used Rock Tomb on it, but only got one wing.  Fortunately, that meant the Murkrow was grounded.  The darkness Pokemon looked at Jake, obviously angry, and used Pursuit.  The Fire Pig couldn't dodge it, and got hit hard into a tree.  The leaves fell off and landed on his head.  The fire in his eyes was getting stronger as he got weaker.

He saw the Murkrow going in for another Pursuit, and he let loose another Flamethrower, and it was much stronger than before.  Jake's ability Blaze was finally ready to be used, the Murkrow was almost knocked out, now.

Energy: 16

Brian heard what Jake said and turned to see a Hoothoot diving right at him for a Tackle attack. He jumped out of the way of the attack and countered with an Ember, sending a flurry of small flames at the bird Pokemon's back. The flames hit the round body of the bird, causing it to flail around in the air as it attempted to get rid of them. Seeing his chance to attack again, Brian jumped at the bird and ignited his fist for a Fire Punch. He lunged it towards the wild Pokemon and sent it flying after the impact, eventually hitting a tree and falling unconscious.

"Well, that was easy. A bit too easy..." Brian said, slightly dissapointed at how quickly that battle went by. But that didn't fully matter right now. He would probably find another opponent to fight eventually, and that battle could last longer. With that battle done, Brian headed back towards Jake to make sure he was okay.

Energy: 19 - 4 = 15

Jake saw the Murkrow was panting heavily, knowing it was almost over, but so was he, he needed to act fast. The Darkness Pokemon was preparing for another Pursuit, knowing the Tepig couldn't dodge it in his current state. Jake knew it would do that, so he used Flamethrower one more time, finally knocking out the Pokemon. It was like roasted chicken, just that it was still alive.

"Looks like you're toast, now, Murkrow!" Jake chuckled at his joke, looking over to see if Brian was finished with the Hoothoot, and sure enough, he was coming over to Jake. But there was something odd about him. There was only supposed to be one Brian, but instead, the Fire Pig saw three. "Why... are... there so... many... of... you?" He asked before he fell onto the ground, almost fainting from overuse. He scolded himself silently for using so Flamethrower so many times, especially using it twice while he had a short time span of energy from his Blaze ability.

That was his last thought before he drifted of to a dreamless sleep.

As Brian ran over to Jake, he saw that the black bird Pokemon that was attacking him had been defeated. At first he was glad that his new friend was able to triumph over his opponent. However, his thoughts quickly changed once he heard what Jake said. "What do you mean 3 of me? There's only one...me here." Brian said, curious as to what he meant. He then realized exactly what this meant once Jake fell to the ground and closed his eyes.

"Oh no, Jake! Wake up!" Brian said as he finally reached his fire pig friend, scared that something had happened to him. He tried to shake him to wake him up, hoping that Jake was okay.
