PostSubject: [RP] Articles of Grimm   [RP] Articles of Grimm EmptySun Sep 28, 2014 1:02 am

Silent Night, Holy Night.
All is Calm, All is Bright.

The small town's speakers chimed the song onto the abandoned streets of a small off-the-map town in Britain. The town may have been small, but it was well kept. The streetlamps were lit with the lights of Christmas, the roads were empty, excusing the few lone souls upon the road, grinches, and drunks.

This narrator, will follow the story of two souls that had been traversing this path. One body they resided in, but completely different personalities and minds. The girl known as Nyx and the boy known as Callix. The two had the unfortunate stumbling upon a strange Grimoire, which had changed and bonded their lives for all eternity as far as they know. The book had placed a curse upon them for not reading the lines it wore carefully, and entrapped the soul and body of Nyx within Callix.

The complete story of their childhood is for another time, as for now we focus on the present. Nyx, a beautiful young adult of the age 18, was walking down the lone and dark road. In her hand carried groceries, pineapple, meat, a strange book, and some soda for those curious, as she traversed her way to her home. Nyx was seated in the back of her mind, neither of them speaking to one another as they continued down this desolate road.

Round yon virgin, mother and child
Holy infant, tender and mild.

It would have been lonely and frightening for any other person, especially with how drunkards usually acted in times around Christmas this late at night. However, in the back of her pocket lay a rather dangerous weapon, one spray in the eyes would send anyone crumpling to the floor in agony. Pepper Spray was anyone's best friend after all.

She stopped though, watching as a horse carriage ride drew past with a family inside. A mother, father, baby, and a small child. All of them laughing and giggling at some joke she had failed to hear. She blinked as she watched the palomino draw the family close and then away without even noticing her. Brought to her memory, was the "pact" she had made with Callix. A promise to forever be entwined in each other's lives as brother and sister despite having no blood-line relationship, both the verbal one and the ritual that had ruined their lives.

"Knock it off, you're just going to get yourself depressed. Past is in the Past Nyx.." spoke Callix at last, not being audible to any that might have been within the area. Despite his words, Nyx couldn't help but feel guilty. She heard a "tch.." in the back of her head as Callix fell silent once more. He was usually quiet, that's just how he was, but he was nice.

Sleep in heavenly peace,
Sleep in heavenly peace.

Nyx continued on, still a bit lost in her own thoughts with her head in the clouds a bit. What was it like to have a real family? She was quickly pulled from them as a phone in her pocket suddenly beeped, her shift was coming up at the diner. She squeaked in fear, not wanting to be late, and began to run.

In her rush, she didn't quite notice an ominous figure behind her. One with a rather strange mirror in their hands. The figure reached out the mirror to reflect Nyx, a strange image of a book appeared on the mirror, before a sudden blast of wind erupted from the mirror and shot towards Nyx.

The strong wind was intercepted though, as she had crossed an intersection, and a rather large semi took the attack unknowingly. The cargo of the semi creaked as a dent was made in the holder, and the box began to tilt, dragging the entire box over. Nyx turned and screamed, as it seemed that the truck was about to tip over on top of her. As it grew close, everything went black for the young 18 year old girl.

[RP] Articles of Grimm Empty
PostSubject: Re: [RP] Articles of Grimm   [RP] Articles of Grimm EmptySun Sep 28, 2014 8:48 pm

Finally everything that needed doing had been done. It had been quite the exhausting day but even though the sun had already set behind the horizon Harmony still wasn't quite willing to go to bed.
Sure, all this work had taken its toll on her, but not even feeding the horses, cleaning the stables, putting up christmas decorations, sweeping the floors, training swordfighting and anything else her father had thought of today would be able to stop her from indulging in her favourite activity.
May there come hail, wind, snow or snarky magical quills, Harmony would-...
Oh yeah, I kind of forgot to tell you about that, didn't I?
Of course she was carrying that annoying piece of stationery with her as well.
I have no idea how she manages to put up with that thing and she probably doesn't know either.
Sure, it is an useful magical artifact or something, but it seems to have made a sport out of being unhelpful. If it was I who had that thing I'd probably have thrown it into a fire or cut it a-...oh, I am terribly sorry. I have been trailing off, haven't I?
Anyway, Harmony had finished doing all her chores and went into the stables, leading Soishin, one of her horses out into the open. The frigid winter air was chilling both of them to the bone, but still it wasn't going to prevent her from going for a ride.
The glittering snow was launched into the air as Soishin gallopped through the icy wastes, soon passing through a forest. The surrounding area may not have been the brightest, but it was nothing compared tot he darkness within this arboreal accumulation.
Yet it wasn't going to stop them. A flashlight in one hand and the reins in the other, they rode through the eerily silent woods. Only occassionally the sound of the hooves hitting the ground was interrupted by some snow falling off of a branch or a lone owl's cry.
But all good things had to come to an end and this little excursion was one of those things.
Her parents would probably be worried if she were to take much longer to return home.
They always worried so much. Couldn't they see that she was a big girl and could decide for herself already? Well, that's what she kept claiming at least. I wouldn't be so sure about that. Her recklessness would certainly get her into trouble more that just a few times in this little story.
And so she turned Soishin around and began to head back home. Home quickly became visible again, the only illuminated spot for quite some distance after all. Of course living this far away from the cities allowed for one to have vast spaces for riding and other activities, but it could get annoying when needing to buy something. Especially since the streets in the larget cities had not been designed with equestrian traffic in mind.
Quietly Harmony returned Soishin to his stable and slipped back inside the house. It certainly had been an exhausting day.

The air seemed to hum with excitement over the festivities being held that night. Children playing with their families inside warmly lit houses, parents making sure these children did not sneak a peak at their presents too soon that rested peacefully under the Christmas tree. All of it was beautiful, a sense of magic to it almost.
Except for one lonely soul who wandered these streets, not being one of the drunkards or a caroler, but simply a 16 year old girl making her way from from her day at the library.
This girl was Cherry.
Such an odd name, Cherry was, yet so was the circlet she currently wore upon her head. Not many people chose to wear a circlet upon their head these days, unless floral.
But the power the circlet contained was what was even stranger.
That can be saved for a later time though.
Cherry had no fear as she walked the snow covered streets tonight, her dark purple jacket pulled tight around her little body as the hood was up to guard against the sharp bite of the wind that would blow by every so often.
She hated winter, she really did. Cherry would much rather be inside one of the warm houses right now, enjoying a delicious cup of cocoa with little marshmallows melting slowly in the deep brown liquid.
Oh well...she would just have to suffer the last five blocks home.
She lets out a long breathe, watching the heated air from her mouth turn into a mist from the cold air surrounding her, smiling a bit at the slightly amusing sight before she continued on her way.
Sounds of clopping came up behind her as she turned to see a carriage turning a corner and walking up the street she was on.
Such a beautiful horse...possibly a palimino?
Either way, it seemed the driver of the carriage had no customers currently, as there was nobody in the back at this moment.
She always wanted to ride in a carriage.
With a sigh, Cherry turned and continued her way home, this wind was going to turn her into an icicle.

Below the rooftops of buildings, the streets were filled with dim streetlights and not much else really. The occasional person seemed to be walking by, and a car or two would pass sometimes. Chase could see these rare occurrences from the top of one of the buildings just on the sidewalk as he sat down near the edge, legs gently swaying off as if he were sitting on the edge of a pier over the water. In one hand he held an old looking compass, almost like one that somebody would find in a museum. In the other was a phone, held up to his ear as the dial tone rang.

"Hello, you've reached the Morrows, please leave a message..." Chase immediately hung up the phone, a sound almost like a low growl emitting from his throat. The needle on the compass seemed to point back and forth behind him, as a semi-transparent figure seemed to pace back and forth. Of course, if anyone were to look over, nobody would be able to see her.

"Are you still checking to see if they're home?" The ghostly woman asked curiously, sitting down beside Chase.
"You're just getting your hopes up, you know they're not-"
"Thank you, Will. I'm aware." He interrupted her, his voice enunciated and sharp as he spoke. The woman huffed as she leaned backwards, laying down on her back. She was well aware the situation with his parents was one he had initially told her was off limits, but that didn't mean she was going to accept his rules of staying quiet about the matter.

"You know, it's almost Christmas. Maybe you should do something nice for some person. Namely me." Will spoke, a bit of pep in her voice as she stood up, her feet seeming to hover slightly above the ground. Chase stood up as well, starting to walk over to the other side of the roof as he rolled his eyes. She was good at annoying the crap out of him, if nothing else.
"Not interested. Besides, you're hardly a person." He bluntly replied, climbing over the edge to the fire escape and beginning to climb down, heading back to the ground as Will followed, floating beside him.
"Aw, you're no fun. Maybe you could take me home for a little visit."
"Yeah, I'm sure you want to see that good ol' alleyway again." He muttered, hopping down from the last level of the fire escape and landing on the ground, standing up and walking out onto the sidewalk as the ghost followed him. The comment seemed to shut her up, at least for a few seconds.

As he walked down the street, he shivered somewhat, the cold December air starting to get to him.
"Maybe you should have worn something warmer."
"Shut up."
"That's not going to make anything better." The ghost wagged her finger back and forth, the familiar sounds of a tsk, tsk following close after.
"Will, shut up." He repeated, gritting his teeth as the combination of the cold and Will's presence began to get to him. To anyone else, it must have looked and sounded like he was talking to himself. After all, Will wasn't exactly alive, and his compass wasn't exactly a normal one. It seemed to have provided him with this "gift" of being able to talk to certain ghosts.

"Man, it's a shame that girl is about to get crushed by a truck..."
"Will, I swear I-" It took him a second to process what she had said as he looked upwards, taking notice of the intersection a few steps ahead. He couldn't tell what, but something seemed to have made contact with a truck as it had been going across, hitting it hard enough to tip the back of it, which was well on its way to falling down.

"Hey, can't you see it's coming down?" He yelled out to her angrily, breaking into a dash as he headed towards her. What the hell? God, why are people so stupid? Chase thought to himself, none too pleased at having to help out the person who seemed to just be standing still and watching as she was about to be crushed, half tempted to let natural selection take its course with her. Instead he lunged forward at her as he neared, throwing himself at her in an attempt to push her out of the way, and get himself out of the way as well.

[RP] Articles of Grimm Empty
PostSubject: Re: [RP] Articles of Grimm   [RP] Articles of Grimm EmptySat Oct 11, 2014 2:09 am

The girl-no boy. She was different, she was no longer a she, but a he. The long blonde hair was gone and the clothes were different, replaced with a male with shorter hair of similar color, the difference being it was lighter than the girl's.

"Idiot! Why would you stand there?" the boy seemed to shout at nobody. He looked to the other guy that had saved their lives, "Thanks," he spoke, hoping that the man didn't see Nyx but just a person when he had leaped to the rescue. He didn't quite want to have to explain the whole situation between him and Nyx.

Callix looked to the wreck, seeing the driver door still closed, he flinched as he saw that the entire truck's side had a large dent in it as if some kind of large dinosaur had plowed right into it. The doors in the back were bent open and supplies of grapefruit were pouring out.

"The hell was that?" he whispered to himself. He picked up the groceries bag holding the grimoire, and hesitated in moving forward to inspect the scene. It was likely the driver was dead, due to the lack of activity within the actual car bit of the semi-truck. He wasn't exactly a fan of seeing dead bodies, especially with how ill the boys used to get back at the orphanage.

His eyes widened with surprise as he heard a clicking sound, and was surprised to find the door suddenly open, and a man climbed out. He seemed to stand there and dust off his pants, there was a bit of blood, but he seemed perfectly fine out of some kind of miracle.

Callix sighed in relief, okay, no death. This was cool.

Another blast of the strange wind, and the man was sent flying out of sight.
'Well fuck, So much for a happy ending' Callix thought.

He looked towards the source, seeing a figure in a strange coat with a baseball cap, the collar of the jacket covering the bottom half of its face and the cap placing a shadow across its face. It was a bit difficult to tell from the figure whether it was a man or a woman, but it seemed to be holding a strange mirror...

The figure seemed to be cradling the mirror, as if it were some kind of precious object. It seemed to stare at them for a moment, in the center of the road. It was like something out of some kind of horror film, didn't help that the rustic light post nearby seemed to be flickering. It seemed to just...stand there, watching them.

It kind of irked Callix, this felt rather strange, he felt his eyes being drawn towards the reflection on the mirror, curiosity getting the best of him as to why this person was holding the mirror so dearly. Was this one of the town drunks? There was no way the blast came from him, it wasn't logical.

Well, then again, it wasn't exactly logical for him and Nyx to be in the same body either. He wrapped his hand in the plastic bag, drawing the grimoire closer to his hand and in a tightened bag. The strange figure was unnerving him, he decided it was time to stop staring and studying before turning to the savior that had unknowingly saved two lives at once, "You okay?"

Cherry wasn't the least bit concerned with what was happening to the others. In fact, she didn't even know who they were, what happened, or what was currently going on.

At least that was until a mans body skidded to a halt on the street in front of her.

Gasping, she ran over to the man and knelt beside him, checking him over for injuries and to make sure that he wasn't dead. There was blood...his clothing torn a bit from hitting the pavement as he seemed bloodied up from something else as well. He seemed like he would live though.

She frowns as she looked up the street, angry as she felt he must've been thrown and didn't like the fact people were bullying others on a night like this. It was so happy and joyful, but now of course it had to be ruined by some JERK.

Three people at the end of the street caught her attention as they stood next to a truck that looked like it was hit by an elephant or something. She might've been more wary that it was three men standing there, one deffinitely being rather ominous while the other two seemed...not so scary, but she was angry that this man got hurt as was confused why nobody bothered to even get up.

Plus the circlet she wore was not helping her logical thinking as of right now.

"Hey! Is anybody going to help or are you all just going to stand there?" Her eyes glanced back to the man she was kneeling beside. She had no phone on her..she couldn't call for help. She only hoped that the unconsciousness of the man would only remain temporary unconsciousness

PostSubject: Re: [RP] Articles of Grimm   [RP] Articles of Grimm EmptySun Oct 12, 2014 2:37 am

The boy stumbled as he shoved what he thought had been a teenage girl out of the way of the falling truck, stumbling and nearly tripping over himself as he moved out of dodge as well.
"Oh no, goodbye cruel world!" A voice only Chase could hear caught his attention as Wilma floated out through the top of the fallen truck, holding her hand to her forehead.
"Alas, poor Yorik! Death makes equals of us all!" The ghost fell to her knees and floated next to Callix, her every word exaggerated in a dramatic form as the one who used to be Nyx thanked Chase. Not that Callix could properly appreciate it.
"Oh my god, shut up!" Chase yelled out, gritting his teeth in exasperation. To anyone else, it would have appeared that he was screaming at the boy who had almost been hit by a-
Wait...boy?

He took another look as Callix stepped closer to the fallen truck, more taken by the person he had saved. The one he had thrown himself into was a girl, albeit a somewhat similar looking girl. Whoever this was, they definitely weren't the same one he had saved.

"What the hell was all that about anyways? You almost got crushed by a truck because you couldn't, what, do some basic leg movement and get yourself out of the way?!" Chase walked up beside Callix as he yelled, obviously mad at his actions. Or, lack of. Whatever he had been thinking about the sudden change from a girl to a boy would have to wait on him blowing off some steam.

"Come on, Chase. Calm down a bit. Where's your Christmas spirit?" Will hovered behind the aforementioned teen, laying on the air at his head level.
"Don't get involved in this! He can't even see you!" He complained in a harsh whisper, completely exasperated by everything as he turned away from the wreck, yelling at what seemed to be absolutely nothing to anyone else. As he did, he had missed the man exiting the vehicle, along with the man getting hit by another blast of wind, sending him out of sight.

"Am I okay? You almost got both of us killed! No, I'm not-" He had started to go off on Callix, turning to face him and suddenly stopping speaking. In the middle of the street, he saw the strange figure holding a mirror. The figure didn't do anything else, simply...standing. Watching them. It gave off an eerie feel to Chase as the figure cradled the mirror in its arms, showing no sense of concern with being in the middle of a road. He felt a chill run through him, not just from his poor choice of clothing in the cold night.

"I'm going to suggest we take this conversation somewhere else. I'm not done talking to you, and I'm going to assume we both want to get away from Jason Voorhees' baseball loving, antique collecting cousin over there." Chase took a few steps backwards and pointed at the unnerving figure, Will staying silent for once as she saw the figure as well and landed on the ground. They both turned away and walked towards Cherry's direction, heading over her way quietly and not paying any attention to the man that had landed near her.
