The marsh was looking awfully marshy on this day of days, completely normal in every way. It was a marsh, as usual. There were cattails covering the area, which made it difficult to navigate, even in the more open areas. Being in a fluctuating body of water with plants that were taller than many 'mon likely wasn't very appealing to most, but then there were the few who didn't care. There was one such individual who had made his way to the area, and while he hadn't intended to end up in some marsh, he wasn't complaining. The only thing that really worried him was that it looked like it was going to be getting dark soon, which meant he would need to sleep eventually. The idea of sleeping in the marshy water wasn't particularly appealing to him for some odd reason.
A black glaceon waded through the water, talking to himself as he went along. The area he was in reached his neck, but it felt kind of warm, so he didn't mind. In fact, he wanted to find a deeper area and see if he could swim in it! He was bored and making no effort to hide it, hoping that someone would come along to entertain him. However, even he could see that the area he was in didn't seem to be particularly popular. Plus, it was getting dark, so a lot of things would probably be going to sleep! Sure, maybe to someone else, the solution would have been to turn around and head back the way they had come. However, to him, it just meant he would just have to wander through this potentially dangerous landscape until he found something fun.
"I wonder if this goes against Rule Five.... Naaah...." Fenris spoke idly to himself, contemplating his decision. It was fairly easy to make up an excuse to keep going: why not? He hadn't found company where he had previously been, and he wasn't currently finding company, so the only solution was to keep going forward until he fixed that. "Besides, I'm supposed to be social! Can't be social if I don't find someone to be social with." He was being awfully loud; the opposite of cautious. Fear wasn't quite something that registered in his mind, and while he was in a particularly sane mood, he still wasn't overly sensible.
While the coming darkness would threaten to shroud him from view among water and cattails, nothing could truly "hide" him.

| (It's white like your pasty ass)
Gauel scratched his head at the mention of "melon disorder." What did that have to do with his fur being black? Just as he was about to speak, one of the Greninja behind him spoke up. "Melanism is the word you're looking for," he said, causing the Grovyle to jump and turn at the sudden newcomer.
"Say hello before sneaking up on somebody!" Gauel growled, the leaves on his wrists twitching from the scare. The Greninja waved his arms a bit, "Sorry not sorry, we live here and can move about as we wish."

| (I checked the color code on the in-game sprites and the official art and everything, it's blue, damn you.)
Fenris tilted his head back to see what was speaking from behind him, but he quickly found that his neck wasn't quite flexible enough to allow him to look directly behind him that way, forcing him to turn around the normal way. There he found a frog-thing, and one who was courteous enough to remind him of the word that'd been lost to him. Before he could thank the blue man, his new friend responded, seemingly agitated. He didn't really get what there was to be upset about; it wasn't like the frog was attacking them, and it was even being helpful!
He giggled at the "sorry not sorry" bit of the frog's response, finding it funny. This didn't exactly mean much, though, since he found many things funny. "Yeah, that's the thing. What he said, uh... melon-ism. It makes me look all edgy!" he proclaimed in a thrilled manner at his disorder. It wasn't like it held any real health risks or anything, and it even helped him hide in the dark, so it was no big deal. "Thaaanks, froggy," he waded over to the creature as he gave his thanks, wanting to inspect it. New things were interesting to him, especially when they looked so cool. And it seemed there was more than one...

| Gauel blinked at how trusting the Glaceon was of the Greninja that just popped out of nowhere. With a quiet "tch," Gauel stood there quietly observing the newcomers. Besides the two Geninja, there was also a Frogadier not far behind. Gauel shifted slightly where he stood, mentally groaning at the thought that if the three turned and attacked Gauel and Fenris, it'd be an uphill battle. Gauel's type advantage meant little when facing two opponents who were at least twice his strength each, plus one who was somewhere between Gauel and the Greninja's strength.
However, there was nothing he could do, and all he could hope for was that Fenris could either be canon fodder or keep the trio, at the very least, neutral to the pair.

| Fenris' attention jumped around between the three frogs, taking in all the subtleties of their forms with an extremely high degree of interest. He had never seen anything like them before, so of course he was interested in what they looked like! He also wondered how their bodies worked and what kinds of neat things they could do. After all, most species had interesting little quirks and skills, like his own ability to be really cold! Well, cold in the literal sense, but not in terms of personality; he liked to think he had a very warm personality. If being emotionally cold was an ability of glaceon, then he certainly hadn't gotten that one. Come to think of it, he didn't really know too much about his own species outside of what he had learned on his own.
But this moment was for focus on the newcomers, not himself. "So, what are you all?" he questioned as he swam circles around one of the greninja, its gaze following him with its arms raised to avoid obstructing his path.
"We're greninja, and the shy one back there is a frogadier," the large frog who had made himself clear as the speaker for the group responded, pointing to himself and the other greninja, then back to the smaller frog behind them.
Fenris followed the directing arm of the large creature, his focus entirely drawn to it as if it were the most interesting thing in the world. At the moment, it really was, at least for him. "Okay, froggies! So, where are we going?" he swam idly toward the water between the group of frogs and his other new friend, looking back and forth between Gauel and the others. He expected them all to travel together since they were clearly now friends, and surely had nothing better to do, but the other group seemed to disagree.
The frogadier let out a sigh and crossed its arms, apparently not content with the implication of traveling with strangers. Or perhaps it was just bored from having to stop, but either way, it clearly was not enjoying the situation. The greninja who had delegated himself to speaking responded once more, this time rubbing a hand behind its head sheepishly as it did so. "Um... what?" he questioned, clearly confused. "At what point did I say anything about traveling together?"
Fenris' attention was immediately focused back on the newcomers as he turned around in the water to face them once more, giving his head a questioning tilt to the right. "Well, do you have anything better to do?" he asked.
The greninja looked around the area, as if searching for anything "better to do." After a moment of silence, it spoke once more. "No, but-"
"Then it's decided!" the glaceon exclaimed without even waiting for the frog to finish speaking. He gave a lighthearted giggle as the greninja simply stared. The frogadier walked a few feet back toward a tree and leaned against it, arms still crossed. It seemed to think this situation was going to last a while, or at least, longer than it was interested in standing around for.
