Energy: 37 - 30 (entrance) = 7
Items in Use: Defense Scarf (-1 energy to all pokemon rolls)
Inventory:

Zorre chuckled to himself, looking around the dark crevice. The call had gone out to him from across the void: a call from the Lord of Darkness and Chaos himself, Lord Giratina. He'd heard the rumours stretching across the darkened world and he picked them up like juicy pecha berries from the vine.

He heard of a dark seer by the name of Synd'r, who'd gotten a message from Lord Giratina about a patron, who was supposedly hiding in secret, encircled by obsidian. There was no better place than the Obsidian Crevice dungeon to find the patron, in Zorre's opinion. Now he just needed to find the patron and bring him or her back to the place of worship, where then Lord Giratina could rule over all and bring this world to its knees.

Then and only then could Zorre be allowed to express himself like he needed too -blood, gore and delicious flesh spread across the horizon like an artist's painting. He salivated at the very thought.

[Energy: 38 - 30 (Entrance Cost) = 8]
[Exclusive Item: White Silk (Reduces cost of every other Pokemon rolled by 1)]

After hours of flying across the entire region, Pilot had finally arrived at his destination: Obsidian Crevice. Between the rumors and the long flight, there had been a ton of buildup to this moment, and he had to admit, the place had definitely lived up to his high expectations. It looked dangerous as hell! Just as the little Taillow had been told, the dark abyss looked bottomless, meaning that one wrong step could easily end his life. Well, not really his life, since he could easily fly to safety, but the perilousness of the journey still remained. The bird could already feel the respect that his friends would have for him if he managed to make it to the bottom. And if he didn't make it out alive... Well, you only live once, right?

...Oh, and there was also something about an object or Pokemon hidden within an "Obsidian Chamber" that would allow "freedom to reign"... Pilot honestly hadn't been paying attention to what the Vulpix seer was saying, but it all sounded pretty good, which is why he had made the trip in the first place. Perhaps she was referring to a treasure of some kind at the bottom of the dungeon! If that were the case, then Pilot would certainly make a name for himself in the Grassveil Guild if he found it. And maybe, if the discovery was significant enough, he could transfer to the prestigious Aileron Guild! The thought of accomplishing his life goal in a single dungeon exploration made his tiny heart race.

Pilot could make out a figure in the distance, one that was as black as the scenery. Hard to see at first, but the bird's fantastic eyesight meant that nothing escaped his gaze. Grinning, he hopped over to the Pokemon, waving his wing. "Hey, you here to find the Obsidian Chamber, too?" He asked, glad that he would be getting a partner to travel with. Not that he couldn't handle the dungeon himself, he just enjoyed having company.

Energy: 7 + 10 (oran berry) = 17
Items in Use: Defense Scarf (-1 energy to all pokemon rolls)
Inventory:
-Oran Berry (3)
-Sitrus Berry (1)

Zorre dug through his bag and popped out an oran berry, sticking it in his mouth. He was hungry after the long trek out to the crevice, and oran berries were good for increasing one's stamina.

He was aroused from his internal musings when a voice called out to him. He turned to see a purple-feathered taillow fluttering to the ground a few paces away. Zorre broke into an evil grin at the sight of the pokemon.

This was the perfect situation, to the black scyther's cracked mind. He'd lure the bird into the crevice with him, and when they encountered the recruit, Zorre would slit the bird's throat as a sacrifice to the recruit. Then his thirst for blood would be fulfilled, and the recruit would have a reason not to mess with him and join Lord Giratina's side, lest Zorre kill the recruit, too.

Of course, the scyther had no way of knowing whether he'd be completely outmatched by either the taillow or the recruit, but even if he'd known, he wouldn't care. His insanity was too great for his ego to allow him to even think that he could be beaten.

"Hey... Are you gonna answer me or not?" Pilot asked, tilting his head in confusion. The Pokemon had a strange grin on his face, which was sending some mixed messages. He couldn't tell if the bug was insane, socially awkward, or just really happy for some unknown reason. Well, whatever the reason, I really don't care, as long as he's here for the Obsidian Chamber like I am... The Taillow thought, impatiently staring down the dark crevice. He couldn't wait to see how difficult the dungeon actually was... He was hoping that it would live up to its dangerous reputation.

Of course, he was also curious as to what was going to be within the said chamber. Maybe if I had payed attention to that Vulpix, I'd have a better idea of what I'm here to look for... The bird mused, cursing his short attention span. He was under the impression that he was hunting for a treasure of some sort, but what kind of object could "allow freedom to reign"? Something wasn't adding up, but Pilot knew that the only way to figure out what he was looking for was to find it.

Zorre tilted his head to the side and advanced upon the taillow, his scythes glinting dangerously in the distant light of the sun. "Well then, what a surprise," he purred, a chittering noise climbing into the back of his throat and releasing into the air upon finishing his sentence. "What brings a lovely specimen like yourself out to such dangerous territory in times like these?" Zorre wondered aloud, red eyes narrowing upon the other.

He had to be careful how he handled this situation, lest he scare the taillow off before it was too late for escape. He didn't want to lose his sacrifice, now did he?

Wow, this guy is kinda creepy... Pilot thought to himself, an uncomfortable expression forming on his beak. He didn't know whether to be flattered or concerned after being called a "lovely specimen"... The bird shrugged. Weird or not, the large bug Pokemon would undoubtedly be useful to keep around. And as long as they were here for the same reason, he wouldn't have to worry about anything, right? Even so, he made a mental note to keep an eye on the mantis.

"I'm here to find the Obsidian Chamber~!" Pilot chirped with a confident grin. "Y'know, for absolute freedom, and all of that..." He continued, trying to sound like he had some clue what their objective was. The avian zoned out for a moment, attempting to recall some more bits and pieces of Synd'r's speech, but came up empty. "Honestly, I wasn't really paying attention to the Vulpix when she was talking... Could you shed some light on what we're supposed to find down there?" The Taillow inquired, staring down the seemingly bottomless abyss.

Zorre's eyes widened. So the taillow was here for the same purpose he was... how strange. The taillow didn't seem affected by the shadows at all... but appearances weren't everything, were they? Well, he'd reserve judgement for now. Perhaps there would be no need for a sacrifice? It would depend.

"Do you not know, lovely? Why, we're searching for the recruit of course... the one that our gracious Lord Giratina needs for his war against the petty light creatures..." Zorre chittered, clicking ominously.

"Oh yeah, the recruit..." Pilot murmured, nodding in understanding. He recalled the prophet Vulpix mentioning the need to find someone and "show it our worth". While he was a bit disappointed that there wasn't some sort of hidden treasure at the bottom of the dungeon, a legendary Pokemon was just as good, if not better! Very few could say that they had seen a legend in their lifetime, so meeting one up close would give him some serious bragging rights. Even more alluring was the possibility that the two would end up fighting the recruit to show it their strength. If he ended up defeated it, he would surely become an overnight celebrity at the guild!

Perhaps a bit too caught up in his ambitious daydream, the bird wore a stupid smile on his face. "Alright, let's go get 'em, then~!" He suddenly chirped, striking a dramatic pose. Wow, I can't believe I'm really doing this... I mean, going to a place like Obsidian Crevice and facing a legend...! This is gonna be awesome! The bird told himself, already feeling a rush of adrenaline from thinking about it. Without a doubt, this mission was the most dangerous thing he had attempted in his entire life.

Zorre gave the cheery bird a glance out of the corner of his eye. Why was the bird so cheery? He hadn't expected any companions of the darkness to be happy go lucky like this bird obviously was. He'd expected more like he was, dark and shadowy to match the dark clouds that traveled across the sky and the disease across the land. But no matter, all the better to sacrifice to the god beneath the crevice.

He peered over the edge of the giant hole in the earth, wondering how on earth they were going to get down. Zorre had wings, it was true, but they were made more for hovering and gaining a quick speed than true flying. As it was, his wings buzzed against his back noisily as he considered their choices, the bug's feet leaving the ground, almost absent-mindedly.

Pilot followed his travel companion to the crevice's edge, gazing down the seemingly endless abyss. How would they make it to the bottom? Perhaps he could glide all the way down to the basement floor (assuming there was one), but his temporary partner didn't seem nearly as well-equipped for long-distance flight. Besides, that would be considered cheating, right? What would be the fun in bypassing the entire dungeon without facing any opposition? I guess we'll have to find another way down... The bird thought to himself, scanning the area for any platforms they could begin their descent on.

Sure enough, just a few meters below them, there was a large track of rock jutting out of the side of the giant fissure. Pilot immediately recognized that it would be a perfect landing spot. "Hey, Scyther~," He chirped, prodding the mantis Pokemon's side. "We could land over there," He told him, pointing his wing towards the mass of black stone.

Zorre cast a glance down the abyss at the taillow's chirp. He nodded, buzzing his wings. He used his claws to propel himself forward, over the abyss, and glided down towards the platform of black stone.

"I wonder if this place used to be a volcano," He hummed to himself, glancing upwards at the taillow, who was still on the platform above. "Obsidian comes from quickly cooled lava, after all. Hopefully we won't run into any lava. Or fire pokemon..." he added, shuddering. He wasn't the best typing to run across a fire pokemon, after all.

Pilot curiously watched as his insect travel companion glided towards the large protrusion in the crevice, taking note of the large Pokemon's flight capabilities. It's pretty impressive that he can fly despite being so heavy! I guess those wings aren't just for show... Anyways, now it's MY turn. Time to show this guy what I'm made of! He thought to himself, grinning. The tiny avian was well aware that his partner was probably skeptical of his usefulness given his petite proportions, but perhaps if he did a few aerial tricks, the Scyther would gain some faith in him... Looking down the edge of the abyss, he sighed, mentally preparing himself for a flashy performance of his skills.

The Taillow leapt off of the the cliff, and spread his wings wide! Then, he swooped down to gain momentum, using it to perform a variety of stunts, including complicated flips, rolls, and other maneuvers. Once he felt as if he had done enough, he made a sharp u-turn, and headed towards his partner.

...All just to land on a piece of rock that had only been a few meters down. Once Pilot skidded to a stop, he looked up at the mantis with an inquisitive expression.

Zorre looked up as the Taillow flipped and maneuvered in the air skillfully. Zorre couldn't help but admire the ease with which the bird flew through the air.

"Very aerodynamic," He said as the taillow landed. "Must be fun to be so acrobatic in the air. The best I can do is get myself into the air. Not those fancy tricks," He said, rolling his eyes.

He looked around warily, feeling the eyes of malice upon him. "Watch out, there's trouble coming," he warned, spotting an absol glaring at them from a rock not far from their landing area.

Pilot wore a prideful grin on his beak, obviously pleased with his own performance. "Heehee, yeah, it's pretty fun being able to fly like that~!" He sang, unaware that the insect had rolled his eyes at him. "Helps a lot with battling, you know. Makes me hard to hit..." The bird trailed, subtly hinting at his polished combat skills in an effort to seem useful. Now, all he had to do was prove himself... But were there even any enemies around? Looking around, all Pilot could see for miles was black rock.

...That is, until his more observant companion pointed out an Absol, who had been glaring at them from a rock only a few meters away. He looks pretty tough... But I could probably take him! The Taillow thought, suddenly fluttering his wings and darting at the canine! He let out a high-pitched screech intended to make the Absol flinch, but it seemed completely unphased by the action, giving him a calculating glare.

Just as he was about to collide with the feral, Pilot felt a swift jab to the side of his head, causing him to miss his target and skid to the ground, until he finally met the wall of the abyss. Ugh... What the hell just happened...? The bird groggily mused. I guess that stupid Absol must've hit me with a Sucker Punch or something...
