Pure Darkness

Noel stepped into the large opening may called the Obsidian Crevice, Noel reached inside her pack and pulled out two sitrus berries, both for her. Noel stood at the entrance eating the berries, the trek here wasn't kind to her, she really needed those berries right now, as Noel did this she looked down to the seemingly bottomless Crevice, Noel picked up a rock and threw it down just to see how deep it went. Noel waited a few moments, then at least a minute and still no noise to indicate it had hit the bottom. "Well, that's comforting." Noel muttered out and began her trek down into the darkness.

"Maybe i should of asked Jak to come along, Nah i bother him enough he has his own problems to deal with." Noel spoke to herself while making her way down, best worry someone too much, Noel even slightly doubted Jak would follow her here, this wasn't the kindest of places to be.

Energy 59 (59-30+30 2 Sitrus)

Lumina squinted as she saw the metalic shine of something in the low light. She took a step closer, trying to tell what it was. Noel picked it up, and after a moment, identified it as a Metal Coat. "Hang onto that. Certain Pokemon can use it to evolve." She advised. It was useless to them, but who knew? It might fetch a good price on the market. Onyx and Scyther could use it to evolve, she remembered. If there was another Pokemon besides that, it slipped her mind for the moment. She glanced at the small patch of ground where Noel had found the Metal Coat. "I think there are some more items?" She pointed out, squinting into the darkness.

Energy: 8 (+2, Heal Ribbon)

Noel tossed the item up and caught it again. "Ya, though if i recall correct there is another item required to allow them to evolve, if i could find that i could sell them as a set, it'd be great." Noel said with a smirk, while she was normally not one to put a price on things she wasn't stupid enough to pass on a chance like this. "Ya a few items in fact." Noel said walking over, she made sure not to go to fast considering Lumina needed the light from the torch as much as Noel did. Noel bent down and picked up a small disc.

"Dark Pulse." Noel muttered out looking at the disc, she didn't know why it just came to her. "I think this is something i can use." Noel said putting the TM away, that left them with two scales and another Tm. "See anything you want?"

After a moment of staring at the items, the vixen picked up an orb and placed it in her bag. "I'll just take this, if that's okay." She offered. "Maybe the seed, too." She thought it was a Reviver Seed at first... but after a moment of inspection, something seemed off about it. The shape was a little bit wrong. Maybe she was being paranoid, but she was not in the mood to do something as stupid as eat what could be a Reviser Seed. Still, even if it didn't heal her, she might be able to find some use for it. It could take out an enemy, as well as puzzle any remaining foes. It would be distracting if someone suddenly fainted from laughter in battle... and it might just be a little entertaining, as well. It might end up coming in handy, she figured.

Noel bent down and picked up the gummi and scales, she didn't know what the scales did but it was better to just take em, they looked interesting. "Right now lets get movi-" Noel didn't finish before she heard a sudden sound of something charging up, not taking the chance she jumped back avoiding an attack that went a bit to quickly for her to identify, skidding backwards she stopped and looked towards the direction of what attacked, nothing but darkness. "Wait a minute." Noel said before resorting to her Aura sense, what she saw did slightly surprise her, in the darkness were several Auras, all malevolent in nature. "Darn, we're surrounded." Noel said backing up towards Lumina.

"Guess It's always like this when we're together, just a couple of Monster house finders." Noel said with a smirk, no way all these items would just be theirs for the taking, hindsight can be bad sometimes. "I'd say at least 8" Noel said getting her Bone Rush to appear, it was going to be a tough fight.

Though she held a neutral expression, the Vulpix internally cringed. "Great. A monster house. Exactly what I needed after being pushed off a cliff." She muttered, digging her claws into the ground. She took a small back towards Noel, her orange fur bristling up behind her. She tried her best to look intimidating, but more Pokemon found a Vulpix 'cute' than 'frightening'. She could hardly wait to evolve. She'd be more powerful, and she would stop looking like a child. It would be nice to finally be taken seriously. She even had a TM that she planned on using upon evolution. Still, she tried her best to look commanding. She wasn't sure if the Pokemon would understand her, but it was worth a try. "We only planned on passing through. We were attacked and knocked into this cavern, now we're just trying to find our way out." She offered an explanation. Okay, so Noel wasn't there, Arceus knew what brought her here. But Lumina was at least attacked, so it counted as a half-truth, she thought.

Noel looked at the Pokemon to see their response to Lumina, the retort they had to what she said was to fire another one of those attacks at them, this time Noel used her free arm to fire off a Psychic wave to cancel the other attack out. "Looks like talking it out of the question, guess we have no choice, time to fight." Noel said throwing up her bone, she then spun around and kicked it back at the Pokemon that decided to attack them, it hit dead on and knocked the Deino back, he ended up falling off the platform he was sitting in and knocked himself out on the fall, though not according to Noel's Aura sense.

The others wouldn't let that happen to them, they made their way towards the rather large platform Noel and Lumina were on, a perfect battlefield, great. Noel instead of saying something cocky just stabbed the ground with the back of her paw, this made a hole big enough for the torch to sit in, she placed it there and got into her normal fighting stance.

"Lets go." Noel said catching the Bone and pointing it at one of them, she waited for them to make a move.

"Why does talking things out never work?" The Vulpix lamented as she got into a fighting stance. Noel had blocked an attack sent her way, and the fire type silently nodded in thanks. Alright, so what were her options? She could throw the Reviser Seed, or she could use Flamethrower and hit as many of them as she was able. Flare Blitz would be nice, but she was still too injured to risk the recoil... so Flamethrower it was. She once more summoned her inner fire and spewed a bright beam of flames as her foes. Many feral Pokemon had been born here, and had never traveled out of this pitch-black Mystery Dungeon. They were unused to the light she shot forth. Some Pokemon squinted or hid their eyes, and Lumina took the oppertunity to direct her fire at the two Skorupi. They survived the blow, but sufice to say, fire and bugs don't mix very well. They took some heavy heavy damage before some of their allies came in to intervene.

The three Carbink seemed to come to a silent agreement. A trio of rocks shot at the Vulpix. One was aimed directly at her, the second to her left, the third to her right. She supposed their idea was to make it so if she dodged the middle strike, she'd just get hit by one of the ones to her sides. Thankfully, the Carbink weren't exactly perfect shots with their rock attacks. Lumina managed to narrowly duck the middle blow, sending the three shots flying over her head. "You wouldn't have a steel attack to deal with the Carbink, would you?" She asked, already beginning to pant again.

"No steel but i got something else that'll work." Noel said before jumping towards the three Pokemon, Noel threw the Bone rush attack and hit the one on the left, she angled it right so it'd bounce off the first one, into the second one and go up, Noel caught the Bone and slammed it into the middle one, instead of continuing her assault on the three she jumped back to avoid sticking around them for too long. As Noel went back into the air the other Deino fired another Dragon Breath at her, Noel raised her arms unable to do anything else in the air, she took the hit and sailed backwards.

Managing to recover in the air she went to her feet and slid backwards, Noel placed one arm on the ground to slow herself. "Heh, that actually hurt." Noel said standing up straight. Noel looked at the Deino and ran towards it, it took this opportunity to fire another blast at Noel, this time she was prepared, Noel fired a Psychic wave blocking the attack, the wave went through towards the Deino, out of the attack Noel came and slammed a Force Palm right into its head causing it to go flying back, It landed somewhere near its allies and wasn't knocked out, just wounded.

The Vulpix watched as Noel fended off the Carbink, but she didn't have too much time to spectate. It was only a second later when a pair of razor-sharp claws were slashed across her pelt. She bit back a pained yip and craned her head around to face her foe. The feral Pokemon - a Sableye - got a faceful of flames for his troubles, but Lumina didn't get to check if he was still up after being hit with her Flamethrower. A burst of blue energy was shot towards her from the distance, and the fire type narrowly managed to duck it. Her orange fur would've been singed, had she not been immune to fire and burns. The second Deino fired Dragon Rages at her as the Sableye scrambled back to his feet. She fired another Flamethrower in the direction of the Deino, but she didn't have much time to aim as the Sableye was slashing at her again. Her attack passed by the dragon type, she'd aimed a bit too far to the right.

She couldn't keep fending the two of them off like this. What could she do, though? Thinking quickly, she grabbed the torch she and Noel had created from it's slot in the ground. It was a little awkward to carry in her mouth, but she had to make do. She only had ranged attacks right now - even for Flare Blitz, she needed a bit of room to gain momentum if it was to be effective. Even if she had enough room, the recoil made using the move risky. So, she needed to improvise. As the Sableye aimed another wide slash at her, she jumped towards it and jammed her makeshift weapon at her foe. She felt the claws dig into her fur, but a moment later there was a pained howl from the ghost-typed goblin. It scrambled back awkwardly, a hand over it's chest. Finally buying herself a moment to aim, she dropped the torch and shot a Flamethrower at the Deino who was firing Dragon Rages at her.

The Deino must've been young, for it was using Dragon Rage instead of the more powerful Dragon Breath. It also went down in that single Flamethrower. But the Sableye was a bit more hardy. Lumina picked the torch back up, glaring at the diamond-eyed Pokemon. There was a dark mark over it's chest, where it had been hit by her torch. It shot her a look that Lumina could only describe as pure contempt before backing away from the battle. Apparently whatever it was trying to guard here wasn't worth another burn. Slightly relieved, the Vulpix jammed the torch back into the ground and looked for her next enemy.

Noel saw Lumina was having no trouble fighting herself, this left Noel able to think of her own fight. The Carbink had decided to make Noel their new target, doing the same thing they did before shooting three rocks this time in a cross patteren in a hope to hit Noel with all three, Noel smiled at this and produced her bone rush attack, instead of dodging she ran right for the three Pokemon, Noel managed to deflect two of the shots but the third one hit her right in the leg, wincing from the pain but not deterred from her course she held the bone horazantally and caught all three of them with one blow, this forced them to go flying back which gave Noel a chance to finish them.

Noel kept going forward hitting them again and dragging them along as she ran, Noel eventually reached a area where a small wall was in place, this served as a great place to slam the three Pokemon in effectively knocking them out from the super effective moves. Noel backed off making sure that was the end of tha, Noel didn't finish her train of thought when she was hit by some strange purple liquid, Noel looked at the Skorupi that did it but laughed. "Picked the wrong target." Noel said with a small laugh, poison didn't effect steel Pokemon.

Noel thrusted her paw at the Pokemon and unleashed a strong Psychic wave at the Poison type Pokemon

The battlefield was surprisingly empty when Lumina looked back up. The other Skorupi, still badly wounded by her flames, tried to attack her with a Poison Sting but the vixen deftly dodged. She shot back a short burst of flames in response, finishing off her last foe. Noel seemed to have the other Skorupi handled. The Fox Pokemon sat down, trying to catch her breath. She thought she'd handled that pretty well, but those scratches she'd gained from the Sableye still stung a bit. She kept an eye open as Noel fought the last bug, ready to jump into action if she saw the need to.

Once Noel was done with that she walked back to the area with the torch, she didn't like to admit it but getting hit with those attacks was slightly painful, in her arms and left leg, though she didn't show this. "Well, looks like We're done fighting for now." Noel said unsure of when another Pokemon would attack them, Noel sat down near Lumina with a small smile on her face. "For someone who got pushed off a cliff you seemed great while fighting." Noel said still having her small smile, she had no idea but for some reason she was happy, despite being in a dark cave like this.

"... and if I wasn't pushed off a cliff, I would've done even better." The Vulpix said jokingly, though it would've been easy to think she was genuine if one wasn't familiar with her. There was a somewhat haughty tone to her voice. She glanced down at the ground, though, and shook her head a moment later. "... in all seriousness, though, I wouldn't have done so well if I hadn't grabbed the torch." She admitted. She wasn't sure how she'd been fended off the Sableye if she hadn't had a weapon nearby to take advantage of. It didn't seem all too fazed by her Flamethrower attack. She took a few steps forward, glancing this way and that. "Now, there's usually items where you can find Monster Houses. Do you see any, Noel?"

"'m sure the person who pushed you off'd be in a lotta trouble if he failed, something tells me burnt face." Noel said picking up on the small joke. "I'm sure you would of found a way, you're always good at that sort of thing." Noel said trying to boost the foxes confidence, after getting pushed off a cliff that was something anyone could use. Noel stood back up and looked around, she saw a few items, another one of those metal coats, some gummies and another TM, Noel picked up the TM and it was the same one she had picked up before. "Similar stuff as we picked up before, a Revive seed though so that's good." Noel said with a smile, can never have to many of these things. "What do ya want from the loot?"

The orange fox silently nodded. In truth, she did feel a little better with Noel being confident she would've been able to find a way. She was proud of her quick wit and use of tactics. She pawed at one of the Gummis. It was a bit of a struggle to tell in this low light, but it seemed to be silver. "Silver gummis are for steel types, right? You'll have more use for them than I do." She remarked, looking around at the gathered items. But, after a moment, she saw something strange. A pair of blue scales. "Hmm. I... don't think I know what these are." She admitted. Unknown to her, these were Gabite Scales. "Do you know, Noel?"
