A House of Leaves - Page 2 Empty
PostSubject: A House of Leaves   A House of Leaves - Page 2 EmptyWed Jul 08, 2015 10:52 pm

First topic message reminder :

"Well...it certainly feels like a house..." Shintara mused to herself, her head angled towards the somewhat imposing mansion-like structure in front of her. Of course, she couldn't see it per say, but with the breeze the dark clouds overhead seemed to be whipping up, it was clear for her that the shape was that belonging to a large-albeit falling apart-structure.

The Absol paced back and forth a couple of steps, muttering to herself as she thought things over.
"Yeah, yeah...I mean, there probably isn't going to be a lot of wind in there to see with, but still, this seems like where that guy said this stuff was coming from..." She glanced upward once more as she spoke, as if she were looking at the clouds. They gave off a bad feeling to her, something odd, unnatural almost. If the key to helping things was in there, then really, she felt like she should be going.

Really though, even if she wanted to turn back, she couldn't really, considering...

"You know, Tara, it might be better if we stick together." She turned around at the sound of the voice, noticing as Nate seemed to catch up. The Pikachu gave a bit of a wry smile as he walked, stopping and waiting to make sure his second companion was keeping up. Truth be told, the electric type wondered if this was a good idea. After all, he had never really met either pokemon before. He had literally just met both Shintara and Synd'r in Grassveil, and decided to tag along with them.

Was it not smart? Probably. Was it better than going to some creepy possible source-of-darkness mansion alone? Definitely.

"R-right, sorry about that. I got a little bit excited, I guess..." The Absol sheepishly nodded and chuckled, looking away in embarrassment. Shaking his head as well with a chuckle of his own, the Pikachu turned back and glanced around.
"Synd'r? Keeping up?" He questioned, looking back to see if she was still with them. He had given Tara some crap for running off, but admittedly, he sorta had too once the Absol had.

Nate: 8/29 (-16 for entering, -5 for escorting.)
Shinatara: 6/22 (-16 for entering.)

Though Synd'r's words were a genuine attempt at comforting Tara, the Vulpix couldn't help but internally rationalise that Shintara wouldn't be any use to her if she kept blaming herself for a stupid accident. They couldn't exactly change what had happened, all they could do was move on. She wasn't just doing it out of the kindness of her heart, but either way it seemed to have worked somewhat, at least temporarily.

Turning her attention away from the Absol and letting the uncomfortable topic drop, Synd'r listened to Nate's words, glancing to the two doors and nodding to herself. She glanced back to the Pikachu, following the movement of the Dusk Stone with her eyes before she answered.
"Might as well ask. If they don't help, they don't help," she shrugged, flicking her ear out of habit before taking a step towards the two ghosts that remained awake.

"Might you two know which the best door to start with would be?" she asked them, head tilting to the side in curiosity. She wasn't entirely sure if she could trust any answers that they might give, but she could always pick the opposite route if she doubted their intentions so much.

The two pokemon seemed to blink and looked down to the Vulpix as she interrupted their conversing, taking a moment to think. As they did, both Nate and Tara seemed to turn to their general direction, awaiting their answers.
"It doesn't matter, you see..." The Gastly remarked, as the Yamask picked up quickly after.
"The rooms here change. There's no one way to..." It paused and seemed to wait for another pokemon to pick up the speech, though after a somewhat awkward moment of glancing around, they realized they were two members down of their usual quartet.
"Move around. Go any way." The Gastly finished, picking up for the slack of the other two.

"Right, then..." The Pikachu remarked, still tossing the evolutionary stone the other Yamask had been turned into.
"I guess it doesn't matter then. So, how about the closest door?" He suggested, looking over towards the door on the part of the balcony they were standing by. As he mentioned the idea, Shintara didn't respond at first, still faced towards the other two ghosts.
"Nate...uh, could you, w-well, y'know...stop tossing that thing up and down, since it used to be, well, y'know..." He paused for a moment, a confused expression evident on his face, before he realized what the Absol was saying.

"Oh. Ooooh. Right, uh...yeah." He responded, dropping the stone in his treasure bag and rubbing the back of his head. Truthfully, he really hadn't recognized what he had been doing with the rock. Turning back to Synd'r, he simply shrugged slightly, taking a few steps closer towards the Vulpix.
"So, what do you say? Onward?" He asked with a smirk, quickly getting over his accidental disrespectful behavior with the evolutionary stone(previously a Yamask).

Listening to the words of the two that remained of the quartet, Synd'r figured that neither of them really had any reason to lie. Either way the information didn't help them and so the Vulpix held back a small shrug of indifference and turned back to Nate and Tara, making sure to pause for a short moment and dip her head to the two ghosts in acnowledgement of the information... or lack thereof. It was a surprisingly polite gesture.

Synd'r's brown eyes followed the path of the Dusk Stone into the air on it's final toss after Shintara had finally voiced her discomfort about the Pikachu's actions. She was curious as to whether the Yamask that had become the stone was still privy to their every move, or whether it's consciousness still existed at all. It really was a little hard to buy that someone had been completely wiped from existence like that... but who was she to question the inner workings of the world.

Nodding to Nate as he turned to her, Synd'r flashed him a somewhat predatory grin as she wondered just what else the house had in store for them.
"Onward," she agreed before heading towards the door nearest to them.

Well, he couldn't really lie; the grin that the still fairly unknown Vulpix flashed Nate was a little bit more than off-putting. At first he winced with a visible frown, but managed to shake it off and force his previous smirk back on his features.
"Right, yeah. Let's get moving then, huh?" The Pikachu nodded as he spoke, turning away and stepping over to the nearby door, absentmindedly bringing his free paw up to touch the one he held the torch in. The predatory look of the grin he had been given brought him back to that day in Shadowhue, where he and another explorer had gotten caught up in some trouble with more than a few angry pokemon, some Mightyena included. One of them had given him a little something to remember, and even though it had long since healed, sometimes his paw still twinged a bit when he was reminded of it, the pain of the bite coming back to him.

As she heard the other two move on, Shintara blinked and turned towards the two as they moved, completely unaware of the current social situation. After all, even if she had a good source of an air current in the room, she wasn't good at picking up the more complex bits of other pokemon, such as facial movements. Moving to catch up with the other two, she picked her steps carefully, moving with an almost unusual caution and meticulousness as she went on her way. The Absol also noticeably kept her head angled so that her horn was pointed ahead, just in case she bumped into anything, having learned over time and experience that hitting something with her horn hurt a lot less than hitting it with her face.

Stepping up to the door, Nate pushed it open with his free paw and stepped inside, holding his makeshift torch out ahead so he could see where he was going. Very quickly, he found himself glad he had done so.

The room may have been a sort of observatory at the top of a tower of some kind back in the day, but now, like the foyer, it had found itself a victim to the adverse effects of time. Old planks of wood seemed to form a cone shape of sort by the roof of the structure, and continued down about five stories, a spiral staircase running down the circumference of the area with a small balcony at every door each story down, including the one Nate found himself standing on.

At the bottom of the five stories, what appeared to once host a wooden floor had all since completely eroded away, the only traces of the rotted wood left being around the edges of the floor, not even wide enough to be walked around on. Instead, with the floor gone, there only seemed to be a hole there. One that went further and deeper down, not seeming to have a visible end in sight.

"Alright, well, that's creepy." Nate simply remarked, stepping to the edge of the balcony he was on and holding the torch out by the edge of it, looking down the giant hole, while Shintara took a few steps over by him, seeming to show a bit less caution. After all, whatever was at the bottom of the giant hole in the ground, there seemed to be a bit of a breeze coming up, one that made it easier for her to see.
"I don't suppose you can see any further down, can you?" The Pikachu asked, turning back and looking to the Vulpix with a shrug.
"I don't suppose you're willing to try out the staircase while I'm at it, are you?" He added, the addition having a more light-hearted tone to it as he joked with the fire type.

Synd'r's brown gaze glanced around the new area, almost amazed at how it managed to still stand despite how worn the area looked. The dungeon was definitely deserving of the name Ruined Chateau. She could feel a slight breeze on her fur, and the sensation was somewhat pleasant after the stuffiness of the chateau's foyer.

Peering over the edge of the wooden platform, Synd'r parted her jaws and used Ember, firing a small fireball down into the depths of the hole. As it whizzed down the centre of the room, it alighted the walls for a split second before eventually hitting the bottom and fizzling out.

"Well at least it's not a bottomless pit," Synd'r chuckled, taking a step towards the staircase and gently pawing at one of the steps as if to test how sturdy it was. She appeared to be the lightest out of their current group so it would make some semblance of sense if she went first, she supposed.

"If the stairs break and I die, just know i'm going to come back and haunt both of you," she commented pleasantly before placing her weight fully on the stairs and taking a few tentative steps downward.

Standing by the edge of the balcony the trio currently stood on, Nate watched as the fireball shot down the hole, dimming before seeming to come to a halt and disperse at the very bottom. Shintara, on the other hand, jumped at the sound of the whizzing fireball making its way downward.
"Wh-what was that?" The Absol took a step back and kept her would-be sights on Nate and Synd'r, the old wood creaking slightly as she did so. The shock in her voice surprised the Pikachu a bit as he glanced back at her.

"Uh...that was the fireball Synd'r just shot down there. You know, to see how deep the hole is. It was pretty bright...are you okay...?" He questioned, rubbing the back of his head as he glanced back to the Vulpix with them, giving her a shrug of sorts.
"O-oh, right. I'm fine, don't worry, it's nothing..." Tara responded, quickly throwing on a somewhat forced grin and nodding her head. Nate watched her for another moment, before looking back to Synd'r with a bit of a chuckle.

"Yeah, it's not bottomless. But it's still a bit deeper than I'm comfortable with. Wouldn't want to fall down there." He responded, walking over to the stairs by the Vulpix and standing by her as she tested them, before she started to gently walk down them.
"Yeah, yeah. I'll be awaiting my inaugural possession. Just try not to get yourself killed." He answered her prior comment fairly calmly, glancing back as Shintara cautiously stepped over by him, noticing that Synd'r seemed to be heading down the stairs.

Shintara's reaction to her fireball being dropped down the hole was most curious, but Synd'r shoved those curiosities inside to better concentrate on looking for weaknesses in her path and.. you know... not dying.

She did crack a small smile at Nate's response to her comment though. At least her chosen companions for this trip weren't entirely insufferable, she supposed.

Synd'r continued another few steps down the staircase, completely avoiding one step that had a large hole in it and a crack going through the rest of the wood. After poking it with one paw, a few splinters had come loose and she hadn't really been willing to risk it.

"Honestly, if you're slow and careful I think it's fine," the Vulpix called out, turning to face the duo who had remained at the top of the staircase, "Though there are a few steps here and there that definitely won't hold Shintara's weight. The sixth one will probably collapse and I can see one a little further down which looks pretty rotten."
Synd'r reported her findings back to the Pikachu and Absol, leaving them to make their own call as to whether to join her on the winding, not entirely stable staircase. She'd gotten this far though and wasn't going to call it quits because of a few unstable steps. She was going to reach the bottom and see what was there.

A few steps further, and Synd'r caught sight of something round and blue, caught between two halves of one of the broken and rotten steps. It was an orb of some kind. The Vulpix paused on the step above, observing the hue of the blue to figure out that this was in fact a Decoy Orb. Taking a moment to prise the orb from between the wood, Synd'r then curled one of her tails around it, keeping hold of it in case it came in handy in the future.

Nate nodded his head as Synd'r reported back on her findings with the steps, trying to commit what she had said to memory.
"Right, right. Slow and careful, watch the sixth step..." He remarked, as the Absol beside him seemed to think about what they had just heard, taking it all in.
"...when she said t-the sixth step, did she mean like counting the first step down as the first step, or the first step to the top as the first step?" She questioned, not looking to the Pikachu as she did. Nate opened his mouth to respond, but paused, thinking more about the question and letting it process.

"Well...uh...wait, what? Who counts the top of the stairs as the first step?" He questioned in bewilderment, rubbing the back of his head. She blinked and angled her head downward, clicking the wood a bit with her claws as she made a bit of a shrugging motion.
"I mean, I do...you never know..." Sighing and shaking his head slightly, the Pikachu stayed quiet for a moment.
"Alright, I'll go first, and I'll tell you if you're wrong. Sound good?" He settled on that solution to the problem, and the Absol nodded her head in response, agreeing with it.

The Pikachu took a deep breath and began to step down the stairs, moving carefully as he did so. He winced slightly as the wood creaked under him, but nevertheless continued onward, making sure to take each step gingerly as he caught up to the Vulpix, making sure to skip over the sixth stair. He caught sight of the item she had curled up in her tail and noted that it was another orb.
"Yeah, because we've done so well with orbs here already." He remarked, chuckling a bit as he did so, but still a bit worried about what kind of orb it was.

Behind them, Shintara sighed and nodded her head, figuring it was her turn to follow them down. Synd'r had said that some of the steps might not hold her weight, but it was either that or getting left behind up there. Taking each step one by one, she counted each stair down to the sixth, the wood creaking and shaking more under her than it had for either of the former two. She counted from the top of the stairs, since Nate hadn't gotten back to her. She figured it must have meant she was right. Getting to the sixth step, she carefully stepped over it and put all her weight down on the one just after it-

-and immediately fell through the real sixth stair, the wood cracking and breaking as she let out a surprised yelp of sorts, falling down to the next story's balcony. The sound was quick to get Nate's attention as he whipped around, looking down through the broken stair at the next story down.
"Tara! You alright?" He called out, as the dark type seemed to groan slightly and stand up, shaking herself off.
"Y-yeah...I'm fine..." She called back up, nodding her head as she stayed put on the balcony. The Pikachu nodded and looked to the stairs, before suddenly remembering what he was supposed to do.

"Oh. Yeah. You were wrong, she was counting the way I was." Nate added, laughing sheepishly and rubbing the back of his head. Looking back to Synd'r before he could catch Shintara's reaction, the Pikachu shrugged a bit to the fire fox.
"Well, Tara took the express way down...I'm going to say we should probably stick to the stairs. Do you want to keep leading the way?" He asked, staying put as he waited for the Vulpix to decide.

Synd'r glanced behind her at the Pikachu's remark. She supposed he was right, after all the one orb that had been used by their little group had basically erased the poor unsuspecting Yamask. However she shrugged and replied promptly with, "This one's just a decoy orb," before turning and continuing a few steps down.

The Vulpix startled at the yelp that signalled Shintara breaking through the sixth step, abruptly turning to look upwards and spotted that the Absol was no longer on the staircase with them. She watched as Nate looked down the hole where Tara had presumably fallen through. He called out to her and gained a response, which meant that the Absol was at least still alive.

"Perhaps I should have been clearer..." the Vulpix conceded at Nate's sheepish laughter and shrug, although she nodded to his next words, agreeing to lead on.
"I can't say that the express route looks at all appealing," she commented with a small smirk of amusement. Switching positions on the stairs now would also be a bit of a hassle despite their smaller size, and so she turned to merely continue her way downwards, assuming that the Pikachu would follow.

They seemed to make it down to the next story without much hassle, Synd'r warning of loose or broken stairs as she went down in order to prevent another of her companions from having to rely on luck to avoid an untimely death.

The Pikachu couldn't help but chuckle at Synd'r's last remark she had made, continuing to follow along as she moved down the stairs. He made sure to watch each step carefully in accordance with her warnings, glancing about at their surroundings as they moved.
"I'm not a huge fan of taking the stairs when there are other options, but if that's the alternative, I guess we just have to take things step by step here." He stated, pausing for a moment as he glanced around the room. He wasn't sure if the staircase was the best place for this kind of theorizing and discussing, but admittedly he was curious.

"Speaking of, though, there are a lot of stairs here. You have to wonder who lived here before. Think this was part of the original house, or some kind of weird piece that came about after it became a mystery dungeon?" He decided to ask as the two reached the next story balcony. Reaching the spot, the two found a somewhat disgruntled looking Shintara, standing around and glancing over herself, taking turns moving each leg individually as if to check for any serious damage.

"N-nothing's broken that I can tell, b-but...can't you take things a little more seriously? I c-could have...well, missed the b-balcony..." The Absol turned away from the other two as she finished speaking, frowning and giving a sigh as she seemed to be looking towards a door in the wall. The Pikachu blinked and rubbed the back of his head with a paw.
"Right, yeah...sorry, I'll try and keep an eye on that." He apologized, stepping over by the door and glancing at it.
"Th-the stairs continue going down, but I think th-there's a door here too..." Tara added, her head somewhat lowered so that she could angle her horn towards the section of wall she suspected was a door.

PostSubject: Re: A House of Leaves   A House of Leaves - Page 2 EmptySat Mar 26, 2016 10:46 pm

Synd'r listened intently to the Pikachu's theorising. It was certainly something to consider, though of course without the ability to time travel there was no way they'd every know the truth.
"It's possible that there could have been a spiral staircase like this, only it was originally much shorter and less treacherous," she replied, adding her own thoughts into the mix as they finally reached the second balcony, Synd'r eagerly hopping away from the last step and onto more event ground.

The Vulpix watched Shintara as she checked each of her legs, and then revealed that none of her limbs appeared to be broken. She blinked as a guilty Nate apologised and slipped past them towards the door that the Absol had mentioned.

"At least you're not badly injured," the Vulpix said, pausing before pushing at the wooden door.
"I think we should go this way first. It'll be less likely to cause any injuries than following the stairs further down," she continued, glancing back for a moment before poking her head through the door to see what the room inside was like.

A House of Leaves - Page 2 Empty
PostSubject: Re: A House of Leaves   A House of Leaves - Page 2 EmptySun Mar 27, 2016 2:43 am

Synd'r's level of sympathy left much to be desired, causing Nate to raise a brow at the Vulpix, before focusing on a different matter at hand. The Pikachu was more than a bit confused at Tara's last remark, hearing her talk about how she thought there was a door there. He looked to the door and glanced it over, noting that it seemed fairly obvious that it was there.

"Er...yeah, there's definitely a door there. Did you hit your head or something...?" He questioned the Absol, looking over at her and speaking with a bit of concern on her whole state in general. She didn't really seem right after that whole incident with the itemiser orb, and between that and the fall, he was starting to wonder if something was wrong with her.

Shintara blinked and fidgeted her paws slightly. Of course, she could come clean about the whole blindness thing, but she didn't really want to do that until somebody else called her out on it. She wanted them to know that she was still capable of tagging along and doing things as well. But at the same time, maybe it would be better for them all if she just came clean now...
"W-well yeah, I'm fine, it's just th-that, well...I can't r-really, err...I c-can't see..." The Absol managed to stammer out, tilting her head down towards the ground as she spoke. The Pikachu paused for a moment, looking at her curiously, before turning away and heading towards Synd'r.

"You can't see? How hard did you hit your head? Don't worry about it, we'll help you get around, but maybe we should think about heading out." He responded as he stepped away, misconstruing the message and getting a tad worried about the idea of bringing a suddenly(as far as he knew) blind Absol around the dungeon. As he spoke, he stepped up beside the Vulpix and peeked into the next room as well.

Spoiler:

The room was dark, set in the shape of a somewhat narrow, elongated rectangle. Tall and narrow windows decorated the walls, spaced further apart down the long portion of the wall, providing a somewhat claustrophobic and solemn feel to the room. A long table lined the center of the room, short enough for smaller pokemon to be able to reach at. The table was lined with several now empty plates and bowls, nothing but dust left in them now, along with a few candle holders with nothing but melted wax left pouring out of the holders. In the center of the table, a music box sat, playing a soft, bittersweet tune.

A fireplace long abandoned sat at the far end of the room, and on the walls were plenty of pictures, all painted and lined up across the wall. They seemed to be lined up in chronological order, with the first three paintings missing, evidenced by square frames of dust around where they used to be. However, past that, the rest were all there. The first painting there depicted a Ninetales, looking young in body and yet older and stonier in the face. She sat in what appeared to be a library or study of sorts, with two Vulpix just a hair past the age one would expect a newborn being seated in front of her. Another pokemon, a proud looking Arcanine, sat beside her. He seemed just a tad younger, but still old.

The pictures continued to stretch along one wall, gradually evolving. In the next picture, the same group stood, but looked the slightest bit older. The next only had three, the Ninetales, the Arcanine, and one Vulpix. Their expressions seemed more somber, and their smiles a little more forced. The pictured went on, and with it, their lives. They grew, and somewhere along the line the Vulpix evolved into a Ninetales. The last picture on that wall finished with a different looking style of painting, with only the Ninetales and an old, frail looking Smeargol in it.

Lining the second long wall, the side the door was on, the pictures continued. The Ninetales seemed to get older with each picture, various groups of pokemon showing up in each one, with many of the pictures quickly shifting art styles.

A House of Leaves - Page 2 Empty

Synd'r blinked at the sound of Shintara fidgeting on her paused and glanced over her shoulder to watch the Absol as she revealed that she couldn't see. The Vulpix turned around and looked Shintara up and down. She couldn't quite see her eyes as the Absol had lowered her head, but moving a few steps closer, she could just catch sight of them. They really were dull and glassy. How had she not taken notice before now?

Looking to Nate, "I don't actually think this is caused by her fall," she replied, recalling the incidents earlier, including when Tara had been suddenly startled by the bright light of her fireball falling down through the middle of the spiral staircase. It also explained how Shintara had managed to accidentally use an itemizer orb. If she'd never been able to see it in the first place, she wouldn't have been able to prevent an accident from happening.
"I think she's been blind this entire time..." Synd'r added, spelling it out, "Though you seem to manage surprisingly well without such a crucial sense if that is true," she commended, a hint of... was that admiration in her voice? Noooope. Not at all.

Turning back to the doorway, she poked her head back through the entrance, her ears twitching as the sound of melancholic music reached them.

Pushing her way through and into the room, Synd'r padded slowly over to the table, her ears tracing the music back to it's source. She stood watching the music box for a moment, pondering it's origins before she turned her attention to the rest of the room.

There were paintings on the walls of the room, and though they were all beautiful in their own way, the style of art didn't seem to be consistent throughout the room. Walking quietly over to the nearest painting, Synd'r stared up at where it hung on the wall. It depicted a family, the mother ninetales, father arcanine and what Synd'r could only assume to be their two vulpix children. She didn't realise it herself, but a small, almost bittersweet smile graced her features at the sight. She had always had a little bit of a soft spot for younger pokemon, and the youngest ones in this picture had such a happy expression on their faces. It made her wonder what her birth parents had been like. She had always assumed her birth mother to be a ninetales, and though she didn't regret who she'd been raised by she couldn't deny that it was an ever present curiosity she possessed.

The paintings just seemed to drive home the fact that she might never know who her birth parents were. Perhaps it truly did not matter... but what if she too had siblings? What if her parents would want to know where she was and how she was doing?
She'd never thought to ask about them before her adopted family had disbanded and she had gone off on her own. As a youngster, it wasn't really a topic one thought about when they had so many individuals to play with and keep them company.

The bittersweet smile that had briefly graced her features returned to a more schooled neutral expression as Synd'r turned away from the picture to move on to the others, her flattened ears returning to a more natural position as she almost seem to remember that she was in the presence of other pokemon.

Nate had certainly seemed to completely miss the point, though it also seemed like she wouldn't have to explain. She could sense the Vulpix take a few step closer and fidgeted her paws somewhat, just a little bit uncomfortable with the closer examination. The discomfort continued as Synd'r pretty bluntly pointed out that she had indeed been blind this entire time. Sure, she was going to tell them both, but she found herself a bit annoyed at the sudden reveal on the Vulpix's part.

"W-well...you don't n-need to be so blunt a-about it, but...yeah. I'll be f-fine to keep going, I c-can...well, 'see', sort of. It's the w-wind, and air c-currents. I can't see any c-colors or details on things, but I can s-sense shapes and m-motions from the wind bouncing off of th-things. And if there isn't a-an air flow, my nose is alright, and I've got pr-pretty good hearing." The Absol did her best to explain herself to the other two, almost sounding a tad nervous about it. She didn't want them both to suddenly start coddling her or anything, or going out of their way to try and make sure she was alright. Hopefully, they'd understand.

Nate paused for a moment, taking it in. It was a bit surprising to him, hearing that she had been blind the entire time she was with them. Of course, that opened a whole new can of worms to worry about. What if she missed something important? Or there wasn't much of an air flow? Still, though, she seemed to really want to keep going with them, and she had done well so far...
"Alright, just let us know if you're having trouble, alright? We can stop, or describe some stuff for you, or..." The Pikachu trailed off as Shintara frowned and started to step ahead, passing by him and following Synd'r into the other room.
"I'll be f-fine, Nate. Th-thank you, though." She simply stated, moving ahead. Nate blinked, rubbing the back of his head as he tried to figure out if he'd upset her or not, before turning and heading into the next room as well.

Shintara was...unimpressed. As far as she could tell, the room seemed to be long, and have a table with some stuff on it, including a music box. However, Nate had a somewhat more curious and somber look as he noticed Synd'r. She seemed to be staring up at that first painting, and her ears were flattened. Of course, the pictures seemed to be depicting a family, consisting of a Ninetales, two Vulpix and an Arcanine. Given the fact that Synd'r was a Vulpix and all, he wondered for a moment.
"Uh...are you alright? Do you know them?" He questioned, starting to step over towards the Vulpix. At the question, Shintara blinked, looking around the room.
"Know who? Is someone else around?" She questioned curiously, tilting her head slightly.
