| "Oh, long, long ago, before you were born and before all these Mystery Dungeons appeared I was a librarian in a town far away from here. However that town does not exist anymore. Now it is collecting money others lost throughout the world, selling some things I find lying around and the occassional odd job. You'd be surprised how little money you need if you don't have to eat or drink." Finally the two of them had reached the bookstore of town. It was an odd place, not really fitting into the town. Just like Chie. And showing up in this pace as often as she did, the bookstore had become something of a second home to her. Indeed it was one of the only places she truly felt "at home". Here there were hundreds and hundreds of worlds stacked on top of each other, each just waiting to be explored, to be discovered, to be felt, to be lived. It was then that a plaque with one of the Duskull's favourite sayings caught her eye as it had done so many times ago. It was the bookstore's motto.
"Bookstores don't sell books, just paper, ink and thread. The only books you truly own are the ones that you have read."

| "Eh, I've never needed money until I was too busy to find my own food. " Sorren responded, He looked at the cheesy saying the Duskull was looking at before getting down to business.
Sorren skimmed through the books, he found a book for identifying plants, One for predicting the weather based on clouds, one with battle strategies for fighting types, A guide to basic Pokemon medicine and a larger volume with anatomy notes of various species.
Sorren finally got the encyclopedia, the dictionary, the thesaurus and a couple of hardback journals. When he stacked them up at the counter He asked to use a crate to haul them back. once all the books were loaded in the crate Sorren paid the 'mon,
"Ok Chie, you ready to leave?" Sorren asked, looking around for the ghost. The shop was very cramped, it was hard to get a line of sight on anything.

| It truly was incredible. In theory these little objects were stacks of paper with dark squiggles on them. But in practice they were so much more. They let you venture into the mind, into the inner world of another being. Whoever it was, that invented this miracle - if Chie could she would send them a fruit basket or something. They had made the most important invention in the history of existence. Hidden in the deepest corners of the store, the Duskull's partner's voice reached her. And while the Ghost type would not have had any trouble staying here for a few...hundred...years, she understood that the Fire type would rather leave now. "Coming!", she responded, floating through the shelves and stacks of books towards her leader. "So, where to go next?" | |

| "The general store to pick up paper, pens, and ink. well that was the plan, but I'm gonna head there tomorrow. This crate is kinda heavy and I don't think I could make it through town and back. not a big deal. We got a lot done." said Sorren.
He readjusted his arms under the crate and shimmied out the door. Blinking the light out of his eyes The Combusken headed for the guild. He was tired, and the hot sun didn't help. Maybe he was just having an off day, but Sorren was done with shopping.

| "Very well. If you say so, chief.", the Duskull replied, not understanding why they weren't simply making multiple trips insead of carrying everything with them at once, but deciding not to inquire on the matter. Why did Sorren think they would be needing this many things anyway? If there would be anything the Ghost type would be needing, she would be more than capable of just going out and getting it herself. But it was the thought that counts, she thought to herself. His intentions were good after all. So Chie decided not to raise any objections. "Then let's get moving." | |
