PostSubject: Chilling at the pond   Chilling at the pond EmptySun Apr 06, 2014 10:15 pm

Is was a bright, sunny day when Brian the Chimchar had walked into the area and saw the pond in front of him. The sky's were clear so the sun was shining brightly on the pond, making the water seem to sparkle as some other younger Pokemon were splashing around in it, most of which he hadn't seen before. He could see some other Pokemon relaxing in the shade of the trees while the leaves above were swaying from side to side, flowing with the wind. Brian could hardly turn away from the sight, all of the surroundings makings him stare at the area in awe.

"Wow, everything here is so beautiful. Man, these kinda places are what I live to see, and if I get stronger, than I could see even cooler areas than this. Oh, I can't wait!" Brian said, finding it hard to contain his excitement, as he did every time he encountered a new area. He couldn't really help himself and being excited about new places thanks to all of his built up curiosity he gained from listening to his parents stories all the time. However, he eventually stopped staring and started walking around, seeing if the area had anything else to offer.

Despite how appealing the bright and sunniness of the day seemed to most Pokemon, Nereza was currently content to hang upside down in a nearby tree on the edge of the area that contained the small pond that this location was named for. The lavender bat Pokemon clung to the branch above her with her small feet, curling her wings around herself, quite content to spend the entire day here.

That was however until she felt her dry throat. Luckily, with the pond conveniently only about two metres away, Nereza merely spread her wings and glided over to the body of clear water. Dipping a black claw into it, she watched as the ripples slowly ceased to reveal her reflection staring back at her along with an almost perfect reflection of the cloudless sky above. With a small smile, the Noibat began to drink from the pond, not noticing the Chimchar as he began walking around the pond area.

As he kept wandering around the area, watching all of the different Pokemon play in the sparkling water, Brian felt a huge burst of fatigue all of the sudden. Brian then realized that ever sense he came to Grassveil and the areas around it, he hadn't stopped moving sense, mostly ignoring any fatigue he felt at the time. However, in such a relaxing area where he wasn't moving around as much, all of the fatigue Brian was ignoring was hitting him all at once.

"Dang it body, now I have to take a rest instead of exploring this cool area." Brian said as he made a pouty face, saddened that he would have to halt his exploration due to fatigue.

"Well, I guess I'll have to find somewhere to rest. Maybe in that tree." Brian said as he began walking towards a tree near the pond, not paying attention to the Noibat near the pond.

After drinking her fill, Nereza gazed upon the perfect reflection of the sky within the water, before looking up at the sky itself. It was pretty, although she much preferred the night sky, where you could gaze upon the stars in all their beauty.
Turning away from the blue sky, the Noibat fluttered back over to the tree she had previously been perched in. It just so happened that it was the same tree that the Chimchar was heading towards, but she had no desire to initiate conversation with him and so ignored his presence as she landed upside down in the tree once more, wrapping her wings around herself in preparation for sleep.

While walking towards the tree, Brian's eyes began to grow droopy as he was growing more and more tired from his fatigue. Due to his tired state, he didn't notice the Noibat fly onto the tree he was heading towards and just kept walking. Eventually, he got to the tree and knocked on the trunk.

"Hmm, I guess this will work. Alright then, time to.....rest." Brian said, still somewhat discouraged as his fatigue as he then lied down on the ground with his head lying against the trunk of the tree. Brian instantly let out a sigh of relief as he got off of his feet felt the soft grass brush against his back. He felt more relaxed than he had been in a long time and despite not getting to explore like he wanted to, was enjoying his relaxation time.

"Heh, I guess taking a rest isn't that bad after all. It feels pretty good actually." Brian said as his finally eyes closed, feeling totally relaxed as he began to drift into sleep with every passing second.

The Noibat had comfortably prepared herself to go to sleep when the Chimchar she had ignored mere moments ago settled down beneath the tree she was hanging in. Blinking as he spoke to himself, she repositioned herself to try and block out Brian's voice, however her large ears were so sensitive to sound that even though she covered her ears with her wings, she could still hear him speaking.

With a sigh, she called down to the Chimchar.
"You know if you're going to sleep, it's usually polite to be quiet about it," she commented, somewhat irritated that he kept speaking to himself. He was clearly speaking to himself and not someone else as there wasn't really anyone else to talk to in the area. Except herself of course, but she ruled that out as an option.

As Brian was beginning to drift further and further into sleep, he heard a voice coming from nearby and opened his eyes out of curiosity. He was still feeling tired but became curious of what he heard, so Brian got up, wiped his eyes, and began looking around for the person who spoke to him.

"Huh, is someone there?  Hello?" Brian said as he kept looking around, completely oblivious to the presence of the Noibat in the tree above right him.

Nereza had removed her wings from around her ears in order to speak to the Chimchar, but blinked as the fire monkey got up and began to look around as if assuming her voice had come from somewhere else.
"Above you," she replied to him, her irritable mood slightly dampened by her amusement. She couldn't help but feel a little guilty for the smile that crossed her features as the tired Chimchar looked in completely the wrong place for the source of the voice.

Brian heard the voice again telling him to look upward and as he did, he saw what looked like a bat on a branch above him. For a few seconds he just starred at the pokemon, having never seen one quite like it before. He thought that the bat was really cool looking compared to several of the other pokemon he had seen at the pond. The purple coloring, the large ears, the wings, everything looked cool to him.

"Wow, you look so cool. I've never seen anything like you before. So cool." Brian said as he kept staring, lost in his thoughts about the new pokemon.

Nereza blinked in surprise, having not at all expected the Chimchar's first reaction to be.. well, that.
"Uhm... thanks?" she replied hesitantly, still hanging upside down and clinging onto the branch with her feet, though she had angled her head so that she was looking straight at the Chimchar rather than away from him as a gesture of politeness.
"Though, uh... if you could stop staring i'd be very grateful," smiled Nereza weakly. She was beginning to feel rather uncomfortable with the Chimchar's gaze unmoving.

When Brian heard the bat pokemon say she was uncomfortable at his staring, he snapped back into reality and turned away instantly, feeling embarrassed at his current situation. He just couldn't help himself. When he sees a new area or pokemon that looks really cool to him, Brian always takes a minute to just stand there and analyze whatever it is. It was a habit that he never really minded....at least until awkward situations like this happened.

"Oh, uh, sorry about that. Got carried away there." Brian said as he began scratching the back of his head, feeling more embarrassed by the second from his action.

The lavender bat Pokemon hesitated another small smile as the Chimchar snapped back into reality and apologised for his staring.
"It's fine," she smiled quietly in an attempt to ease the fire Pokemon's embarrassment. Considering how he didn't think anything different of it to begin with, she assumed that something along those lines was considered 'normal' for the other Pokemon. Quietly, Nereza wrapped her wings around her body once more, clinging on to the blue and white striped scarf that she wore around her neck so it didn't dangle needlessly from her form as she hung beneath the tree's branch.

Brian felt a little better after hearing the bat pokemon speak again, but was still a little embarrassed. He was used to making awkward introductions at this point after making so many, but it didn't make them any less embarrassing. He thought that making conversation with the pokemon might make things a bit less awkward, so he started talking to the bat pokemon again.

"Um, so I guess I never introduced myself properly during all of that. My name's Brian, what's yours?" Brian said as he looked back toward the bat pokemon giving gave a silly, innocent looking smile trying to move away from his awkward starring moment by starting a conversation. Who knows, maybe he would make a new friend.

"Oh uh. I'm Nereza," she replied, glad that the Chimchar, who was now identified as Brian, didn't dwell on the embarrassment of his former staring. Feeling rather rude speaking with Brian whilst she was hanging upside down, the Noibat spread her wings again before she detached herself from the branch she clung to and fluttered down to the ground. She landed neatly at the base of the tree, flicking one end of her scarf over her shoulder so it didn't get in her way.

"Well, it's nice to meet you Nereza." Brian said, still smiling innocently towards the bat pokemon, glad that he was able to get the topic off of his awkward introduction. As the pokemon fluttered down to the ground near him, Brian thought about how cool it would be to fly as it was one of his many, many dreams. However this time, he didn't allow his mind to wander as he wanted to continue the conversation.

"So what are you doing out Nereza? Taking in the sights or something?" Brian said, wondering why the bat pokemon was there at the pond.
