The First Adventure Far From Grassveil! Why the Hell is Akuroma Going to Black Mist Mountain!?

Akuroma was beginning yet another excursion into Shadowhue Forest. His bag carried the items he's gathered over his adventures along with scrolls of paper to draw maps and make notes on anything interesting he saw. However, they were the same papers he took the last few times. Nothing was changing in Shadowhue, at least nothing noteworthy for Akuroma.
'There's nothing mysterious about Shadowhue Forest anymore... and the guild still won't allow me to travel any farther without an escort, which I'd have to pay for...' the Ralts silently complained. As he continued walking he spied Enzu closing up the dojo, a rather large travel bag strapped to his back.
"Enzu! Where are you going?" Akuroma said as he walked up to the Pawniard. He hadn't seen Enzu since he trained here once with Keyami, and that was before he got the three scars across his cheek.

"Well hopefully we won't need to use any of these items," Enzu said as he continued walking. "Like I had said, I would much rather avoid battles as much as possible. And all of these items we have been finding are mainly helpful in dangerous situations. So we need to be smart about how often we use them." he said. Enzu continued to look around for items that they could collect. Hopefully they would find some Joy Ribbons soon he hoped.

Akuroma nodded before his horn twitched a bit, "Let's hope the incoming Pokemon's not one of those situations," he said, looking up to see a Spearow dive bombing towards them. He stood there and waited until the Spearow was too close to dodge a rock shield he made with Confusion and floated above himself and Enzu.

Enzu turned his head as soon as Akuroma mentioned an oncoming pokemon. He leapt to the side as the Spearow came flying down, but before he could attack the pokemon Akuroma had made the rock shield. Then Enzu said, "Well even if we do get surrounded, we should be able to fend them off with your skills," Enzu said. "I'm surprised that the guild hasn't let you explore past the forests." Enzu then began to charge up a Psycho Cutter to attack the Spearow while it was distracted.

Akuroma shrugged as the Spearow flew off of the shield, "It's just a Confusion attack used differently. Most Psychic Pokemon learn to do this, it's how we can appear to be immensely powerful even when in truth we're quite weak," he said, moving the rock shield to block the barrage of Fury Attacks the Spearow was using. As the Spearow began to tire from it's repeated attacks, Akuroma broke off pieces of the rock shield and fired them at the Spearow.

Enzu smirked at Akuroma's comment, "You know I learned a lot of things during my travels," he said. Enzu then launched the Psycho Cut's at the Spearow, and as they flew he said, "And one of them is the fact that strength is a lot more than simple physical might." The blades coming from the Psycho Cut hit the Spearow, and the attacks coming from multiple directions seemed to throw it off. The Spearow was not flying in place attempting to decide on who to attack.

Akuroma shrugged, "In the way I was using it, it did," he said as he caught onto the Spearow itself with a Confusion attack and slammed it into a nearby wall, finishing it off.

"Well that wasn't very difficult," he said, walking up to the Spearow and searching it's body. He whistled a little tune as he looked between it's wings and feathers.

Enzu walked over to the now unconscious Spearow, "I'll say," Enzu said, "It was definitely easier then the Aerodactyl that we ran into yesterday." Enzu looked over Akuroma as he searched the Spearows body, it was amazing how eager the Ralts was to find items. But then again, the purpose of this mission was to find Joy Ribbons, so he could understand his partners eagerness. "Did you find anything?" he asked.

Akuroma nodded, "A special band," he said, placing the item into his bag. He then stood up and looked around before sighing.

"I know they're rare, but we should have at least found a trace of the Pokemon here using them. None of these Pokemon show any sign of unusually quick growth. I'm beginning to believe that the Joy Ribbons have either all been found or were never her to begin with," the Ralts said as he began walking again. He was concerned about the lack of Joy Ribbons, if the local Pokemon had taken them, that would mean Black Mist Mountain would become an even more dangerous place for anybody who passed through the area, especially for him, seeing as how many of the Pokemon here were airborne or dark types.

"Perhaps we should head back and gather more information?" he asked the Pawniard. He didn't want to seem afraid, as he wasn't, he was just concerned. He thought it'd be wiser to head to Grassveil to gather information instead of staying here where the information they find might be their last.

Enzu looked around and tried to make out any objects through the dark fog that surrounded him and Akuroma. He understood what Akuroma was saying and it made sense, but even if there were no Joy Ribbons to be found he was determined to at least find one item of value. "I think you're right," he said, "But I don't want to go back empty handed. Lets continue searching for a bit and then we can head on back. Does that sound good?" he asked Akuroma.

Akuroma nodded, "We can keep searching until nightfall then we'll head back tomorrow morning," he said, hefting up his bag. He didn't take another two steps before his horn began twitching, "Enzu, we've got company already. Let's hope it's not that Spearow's flock."

Akuroma used confusion to make another platform of the rock they were standing on. When they were above the fog, several rock pillars were around them, left by some ancient civilization. If there weren't an enemy coming, Akuroma would've loved to study them, but perhaps that'll be for another time.

Enzu nodded and was about to agree with Akuroma before he had mentioned that they have enemies approaching. Enzu entered into a fighting stance and began to slowly charge up a Pyscho Cut on both of his blades. That way as soon as the enemy was upon them he could attack.

While Enzu looked around the top of the fog, he took careful note of where the pillars were located, there might be a possibility that they would need to use them in their battle. As Enzu scanned the horizon he noticed a Riolu that seemed to be moving across the top of the fog. "Um... Akuroma... How could a Riolu be moving above the fog?" Enzu asked. He was pretty sure of the answer but he didn't really want to accept it. Two enemies at once was bad enough, but one that was as tall as the fog layer might be two much for him and Akuroma.

Enzu's Psycho Cut attack was almost fully charged, and as soon as it was complete, he would begin to attack, regardless of how big his enemy was.

Lvl 15 Riolu: Counter, Force Palm, Blaze Kick, Earthquake.
Lvl 30 Rampardos: Pursuit, Leer, Earthquake, and Hammer Arm

Suddenly the Riolu stopped just short of the platform, a loud bang and some violent shaking following.

"Oh come on..." Akuroma complained to himself as the platform began to fall slowly, "Hold on Enzu." His eyes began to glow as he let part of the platform fall, leaving enough to keep whatever was ramming into it from running straight into them. As he did this he used Confusion to push up four walls around them and the mist out, hopefully limiting the movement of the rather large Pokemon.

When the Large Pokemon broke through, it revealed itself as Rampardos, which the Riolu was riding. Akuroma growled to himself and began firing Confuse Rays at the two Pokemon. The Riolu jumped off of it's companion as it dodged the Pink and White beams of light. The Rampardos, being slower and larger, nearly got hit twice.

"The Riolu may have a type advantage over you, but I'll cover you, just focus on cornering the Rampardos so I can land a Confuse Ray on it. It has to be at least double our strength if not more and we need to take it out quickly!" Akuroma barked out, already shifting closer to Enzu and firing loose rocks at the Riolu with a Confusion attack.

Enzu did his best to maintain his balance as the platform began to fall back into the ground. The other pokemon that came with the Riolu was definitely large if it was able to ram into the platform going at the speed the Riolu was moving on its head.

As Enzu landed on the ground and the walls Akuroma made shot up towards the sky, Enzu immediately cleared the thought of the nearby pillars out of his mind, that way he would not be focusing on them. Enzu was able to remain calm at the site of the Ramparados. After his fight with both the Aerodactyl and the Mightyena from a few days prior, he was getting used to encountering large pokemon.

Once Enzu heard Akuroma's command he immediately began to move. He started by moving in the opposite direction of the Riolu so that he could keep his distance from it. Enzu then leapt into the air and launched one Psycho Cut at the Rampardos' leg so that it would stumble slightly. And then he launched the second one towards the Riolu to at least throw off its pacing even just a little.

The Riolu was none to happy about Akuroma's plan, having heard it and was trying to keep itself near the Rampardos. However, Enzu's psycho cut was able to keep it at bay. As it was about to charge at the Pawniard with a Force Palm, it found itself stuck in place. A thin blue outline was traced around it's form, and the glowing blue eyes of the Ralts showed that it was being held by Akuroma's Confusion.

Akuroma did nothing to harm the Riolu, it would shorten how long he could keep Confusion up on the fighting type, and he needed to wait until he could confuse the Rampardos.

"How's corning the Rampardos going, Enzu?" he asked, keeping his eyes on the Riolu in case the Pokemon broke through his hold, which he could already feel slowly happening.

The Rampardos itself was simply trying to dodge the attacks from the Pawniard, without it's footing it couldn't properly charge at the two enemies like it wanted to.

"It kind of happening!" Enzu shouted to Akuroma as he began to charge up another pair of Psycho Cut's. Enzu quickly peered over to his side and saw that the Riolu was being held back by Akuroma's Confusion. This allowed Enzu to temporarily put all of his focus into corning the Rampardos.

Before the two Psycho Cut's were completely charged up, Enzu jumped into the air and launched one of the blades of energy at the Rampardos' head. Even though it wouldn't do much damage. The attack would at least distract the iron headed pokemon long enough for Enzu to launch the second, and fully charged Psycho Cut at its lower chest, that way it would both damage the pokemon and knock it back at the same time. Once the first attack landed on the Rampardos, Enzu launched the second towards it's lower chest.
