PostSubject: Question about partners   Question about partners EmptyFri Sep 15, 2017 4:32 pm

I have been brainstorming with my first character on the horizon, and keep coming back to the question of partner pokemon whenever I think of PMD. I love playing up the understanding between two devoted friends. While I understand that I can only have one character to begin with, can I ever write two characters at once? I love the idea of having a half-blind deino character and at some point introducing a partner that helps guide him along a bit. He'll have fewer collisions, both literally and metaphorically. :D

You can purchase extra characters with poke, the currency on the site. You earn this currency through RPing and doing things like Guild missions or tasks to do with an IO.
Each character costs a minimum of 5000 poke, however you can have as many characters as you want as long as you earn the poke to pay for them.

So, yep! You can definitely make another character further down the line ^-^

On a somewhat-related note, deino are entirely blind as a species.

Not sure if this will get answered if I post it on the same thread, but about the "orphaned" rule...

How are pokemon in dungeons interpreted here? I've always thought that they attack not out of malice, but because they are more bestial and instinctual. Their eggs wouldn't necessarily be taken care of until they hatch, much as how some reptiles leave their eggs in the ground and let the little babes dig their way to the surface and learn to survive on their own.

I don't think of the above scenario as "orphaning," simply natural order. I was planning on this being my character's upbringing, seeing as deino is very reptilian. He's bumbled his way around in a mystery dungeon for most of his early life. Only recently has he found an exit and been introduced to society as a whole. Unfortunately, this means that his communication skills are somewhat lacking and his speech is kept at a minimal vocabulary. He's not dumb, far from it, but he finds large crowds to be overwhelming and society to be confusing and overstimulating. His decision to join an exploration guild is rooted in his understanding of mystery dungeons and his comfort in the wilderness.

Is this fair, or is this banned?

It's agreed upon that general pokemon in dungeons are "feral" with varying levels of wild behavior. Obviously, there can be exceptions, but if you need a reason for something to mindlessly attack for no apparent reason, yeah. Being wild rather than civilized is generally the go-to explanation for something being hostile or uncooperative.

And some are just jerks.
