Isolation still seemed like a far-off dream for him.

Goro the Croagunk normally spent his days battling wild Pokémon in his home Dungeon, Cattail Marsh, and his evenings taking in the beautiful scenery provided by the Firefly Pokémon that were native there. Unfortunately, it seemed most of Rainfront Town had the same idea-- it seemed like he was chasing out more and more tourists every evening he spent at home, as citizens from both Grassveil and Rainfront swarmed the Marshlands to observe the sights. He couldn't rest easy knowing that there were visitors just a few stone's throws away. The Croagunk wasn't sure if it was the summer season that made the humid, wet Marsh so appealing, or if it was simply easier to reach for the nearby populace.

Either way, his home was overrun with tourists and Goro was distinctly chafed with the whole situation. It stood to reason he needed a place to unwind; he'd heard stories about the Fallen Leaf Copse, the small forest island nestled on the lake to the west of Grassveil. The scenery was supposed to be to die for; the eternal autumn colors reflecting off the surrounding lake waters creating a gorgeous visage. Goro wasn't normally one for sightseeing this way, but witnessing the similar view at Cattail Marsh seemed to have sparked a passing interest in sightseeing for the normally hermit-like Croagunk.

At times like these, all he wanted was some peace and quiet. The Copse seemed like a perfect place to lay low for a while-- he'd go for a stroll, maybe train against some feral Pokémon home to the Dungeon. Goro strode forward on the cobblestone trail, the lake's island in clear sight. He could make out a path of stepping stones in the distance-- it stood to reason that there was a path for Pokémon unable to swim.

Goro didn't pay any mind to the other two in the clearing, instead meandering off to the side in search of something to help him get rid of the vines attached to him. He lacked for any kind of claws or fangs, and thus had no real way to tear the mess of vines off his person. There was the possibility of asking either Yooka or her sandshrew for assistance, of course, but they seemed rather happy to be doing their own thing and he wasn't exactly comfortable with the idea of being indebted to either of them. NOt when he still wanted to get Yooka whole and healthy and beat the snot out of her; if she had something to hold over his head, then he couldn't go into that feeling right about it. The croagunk picked up a sharp looking stick on the forest floor, peering at it thoughtfully before raising it up at chest-level. He clutched a fistful of vines on his chest and tugged outward as hard as he could, only succeeding in slightly moving them, but it was enough. Driving the sharp stick into the mess and chopping at it fitfully, he succeeded in at least making a few tears in his bindings. It really was quite the peculiar technique - if it hadn't been used on him, Goro might have been eager to know more about it. But as it was, he felt quite sour about it; all he knew was that it was a really tedious inconvenience that served to sap his life force away from him. That was all he really needed to know, in hindsight.

Soon enough, Goro found himself with a handful of free vines in his hand, the clump on his torso and shoulder slightly lessened. He cast them off to the side, throwing the mess to the floor and trotting off to where the phantump lay, stomping through the ruined earth to plop down on the stump that was the unconscious ghosts' head. He had no reservations about waking the creature up; Yigo had hit it hard, in addition to Goro's own attacks. If it was dumb enough to stir from its slumber and challenge them again, it would deserve whatever fate it was met with. But as things were, the croagunk was content to sit on the stump and work the stick into the mess of vines around him, spearing through them as best as he was able as he cast an occasional glance around the clearing. Maybe they would all get lucky and there would be no more vultures, but he doubted it. If the sandshrew didn't get back to him soon about the kecleon, he'd have to hoist the chameleon over his goddamn shoulder and escort them out himself. A tired sigh escaped from the frog's throat, a bit of exhaustion and fatigue coming over him. This really had turned from a day out in the forest into a struggle for survival among truly powerful Pokémon. Less so now, of course, but maybe they'd all be surprised.

Movement in his peripheral had the croagunk's head snapping upward. He'd caught a glimpse of familiar bristling brown fur trailing along through the trees, he was pretty sure. Squinting his eyes and leaning forward, Goro was treated to the sight of two more sentret following a furret through the forest perhaps forty yards away. Close enough to see, but also far away enough that there was a healthy chance of them simply passing by with no trouble. He had to admit, the level of strength boasted by these local Pokémon unnerved him; at first, he was disappointed after defeating the Teddiursa, but when mother bear reared her head, followed by a sawsbuck of all things, he quickly developed a healthy respect for the forest. He was tense and still as he watched the trio of normal types trot along, peering through the foliage and mess of tall trees, tracking them stressfully. His heart lightened when they passed along with no trouble, simply making their way through the mystery dungeon. But the rustling of bushes to the side of him had him on his feet in a flash, panic rising up through him.

He cast the stick back onto the ground, the mess of vines on his chest lessened but still prominent. His fists raised up to his chest urgently, and his eyes snapped toward the noise that was made... only to be met by a crawling caterpillar. Short, stout, and predominantly red in coloring, it occurred to Goro that he was staring at a wurmple evidently drawn to the clearing by the sounds of battle. The panic and adrenaline that was surging through him quickly evaporated, a mixture of relief and exasperation overcoming him as the bug crawled along. Much like the phantump earlier, it had eyes for the downed kecleon in the corner of the clearing, along with Yigo who had apparently collapsed in exhaustion. Goro snorted at the sight. He was fine enough, he knew; just tired, is all. And a wurmple was hardly a threat. Instead of rushing back into battle with the sandshrew to fight the new threat like he did before, Goro simply sat back down on the unconscious phantump's head and picked his stick back up, returning to his work of spearing vines off himself. A sardonic grin grew on his face as he lifted his head to call out to the downed pair of Pokémon, his tone merry and darkly sarcastic. "I hope neither of ya are afraid of creepy crawlies!"

Regardless of how Yigo took Yooka's condition. When he fell laughing it was clear he was drained and she replaced her bag with him. Practically clipping him to her back by using her scarf as the strap. She held her bag with her tail. She did all that just before Goro spoke up about insects. Yooka hoped he was joking. A weedle or it's evolutions would not be fun to be around, but she didn't mind for the bugs. One swift kick in the right part of the bugs tends to send them off. Except Weedles, they stick around and call for others. Actually this whole forest calls for others. They were lucky nothing showed up after the sawsbuck. Yigo could sense this stuff, or well... that's what she thinks.

"In this place, I'm fine aslong as it's not a Weedle. Screw their poison."

If Goro didn't see her as she walked over, her little reply may have been unexpected. She saw the Wurmple and ignored it as it passed by slightly avoiding her. She placed a hand on a tree a little ways off from the Phantump. She wasn't tired, she's just taking the weight of Yigo off her legs a bit as she wasn't going anywhere yet. If it wasn't obvious from the way she was standing, any and all wounds were gone. She was waving at him with a smirk.

"Can't tell if your testing me or having fun. You enjoy tough fights don't you?" She shifted, turning around and placing her other arm on the tree. "I'm heading back. If you want me to set you up with a fight, all you have to do is ask. I take fighting seriously now. I was a bit of a idiot the last time we met. A random encounter like this is no longer just a way to train. I'll always be over prepaired for these. So unless you have just as much stuff or are far stronger than I am, Which unfortunately would be easy early on... you won't beat me. If you want a fairer fight where I don't rely on Items, just look for me at the Guild." Yooka lowered her arm as she went back the way she entered the clearing. Her shadow was following behind her but unattached and moving left and right as if ready to spring at any moment.

(OOC: Last roll for me, not necessarily my last post. Something may occur that puts her right back in. Also either of you can use my rolls and... er, what did I get?)

It was so simple to just lay down and relax for a moment. They had done it! Another foe was down and this time they didn´t need Yooka´s help. She was alright, Goro was alright... Yigo was alright... and tired. Now they only had to keep moving. However, the ground was just too comfortable! Now that the dirt has been dug out his belly was practically resting on a pillow made of earth pellets.

Luckily, Yooka had decided to get on the move herself while... picking him up? Yigo thrashed about once he found her hands on his side. It was futile, just like before. She´d just raise him again and... get him on her back? Yigo relaxed, giving a long moan as she got a scarf around him, tying them both together. For a moment there he thought that she was going to punish him for fighting... or being lazy by tossing him again. Yigo was glad that it was not the case, trying to get himself comfortable on her back. His arms were around her chest while his head rested on her shoulder. He had eventually heard something about a bug but, after seeing that it was just a Wurmple, he decided to ignore it. That was not a threat that they needed to take care of after all. Moreover, if they keep fighting anything that shows up, they will never get out of there.

What Yooka had said was interesting and pretty much confirmed Yigo´s theory. Goro´s way of interacting with Pokemon was by fighting, he might not know any other way to approach them. If he sought a fight with it meant that he wanted to establish a relationship with them, that he wanted to befriend them. Yooka must have noticed that when she had offered to battle him, playfully taunting the warrior so he might accept. She was always so wise! "Goro, sir!" he said with enthusiasm after finally unravelling his mystery. Perhaps fighting was not that bad after all "I want to fight you too! The next time we see each other, I will be ready" even though Yooka had inspired him to step up and challenge Goro as well although he was not going to risk taunting him.

Yooka started to leave the area by then. Had she decided to go look for items somewhere else, to heal her wounds or to outright leave the copse was unknown to him. At least Yigo would have made a new friend out of this experience.
