(Up for Adoption) Adagio the Yamask Empty
PostSubject: (Up for Adoption) Adagio the Yamask   (Up for Adoption) Adagio the Yamask EmptyWed Oct 26, 2016 6:26 am

» Name: Adagio
» Sex: Male
» Gender: Male
» Species: #562 Yamask, the Spirit Pokemon
» Affiliation: Wanderer

» Level: 5
» Energy: 14 BE, 19 E.
» Ability: Mummy - Contact with this Pokémon spreads this Ability.
» Moves:
-Astonish (LV 1)
-Protect (LV 1)
-Memento (Egg Move)
-N/A

» Natural Feats:
-Physical contact with Adagio spreads Mummy, nullifying the target's own ability.

» Personality:
Adagio is rather clumsy. Adagio isn't the best Pokemon to task with carrying an object to point A to B since he'll more than likely end up dropping said object along the way. Adagio also seems to always refute against any work that requires physical ability to complete. To some, this could likely be considered laziness. Adagio lacks confidence in himself and instead places his confidence in others (This is mostly thanks to the incident that cost him his life). He could possibly come off to other Pokemon as cowardly at times as well since he prefers to stay away from battles or scuffles. Adagio, instead, tries to create tactics/strategies for allies to follow, and if completely necessary, he'll join the battle himself. Adagio will lose his composure in battle if tactics he creates do not end up producing a desirable result. For the most part, Adagio's kind towards others, usually willing to lend a shoulder of support. However, this kindness is nowhere to be seen towards dog-like Pokemon, as Adagio prefers to avoid interactions with said Pokemon. Adagio always gives whatever task he's given his best, physical or mental, even if his best isn't enough. Adagio is rather curious at times, always eager to learn about new things.

» Likes:
-Capriccio: Adagio enjoys the free and lively tone of Capriccio. Capriccio was viewed as a key element in a "perfect song," to Adagio. Capriccio was practically the first song that Adagio had listened to, and it made a lasting impression on him.

-Swiftness: Adagio enjoys being faster than his opponents or allies. Not only does he believe that being faster improves his probability of being useful, he generally enjoys the rush that accompanies being fast. For this reason, his own tactics employ elements of "Hit-and-Run" and "First-to-Strike" strategies, and he always manages to keep a Quick Seed around with him.

-Oran Berries: Oran Berries were Adagio's favorite treat back when he was a Chatot. Oran berries were the most plentiful berries growing around Adagio's living area. It was deliciously sweet, and it was incredibly convenient for a quick snack.

-Tomes/Books: To compliment his fondness of learning, Adagio spends any free time he has reading any books or tomes he can get his hands on. His favorite reading spot is under the shade of a large tree, preferably in sunny weather.

-New Sights: Nothing gets Adagio more excited than seeing an unfamiliar town or ruins. He gets rather eager to explore the unfamiliar setting, and he doesn't hold back with asking questions about the setting to his companions (given he has any at the time).

» Dislikes:
-Elegies: Elegies remind Adagio of his current state of life (or rather, lack of). He sometimes finds the tempo of Elegies comforting, but he's always reminded of that fateful day when he lost his life. And a recollection of his own demise unsettles him.

-His Mask: When Adagio looks at the Chatot mask of his past life, he can't help but wonder how his life would be going if he hadn't died. For this very reason, he dislikes his own mask. However, even though he dislikes his mask, Adagio feels like he can't abandon the only memoir of his past life.

-Dog-Like Pokemon: Dog-Like Pokemon remind Adagio of the day his life was taken. The mere sight of a dog-like Pokemon would send the painful memory of his work being destroyed through his head. Although, this only applies for Pokemon that especially look like dogs, such as a Growlithe, Arcanine, Houndoom, etc. (Lucario and Eevee doesn't apply to this dislike.)

-Being under pressure: Adagio generally hates being under pressure. While he can force himself to make decisions under pressure, Adagio truly hates the pitting feeling of making decisions. Under too much pressure, Adagio becomes scatterbrained or more prone to giving up.

-Letting others down: Above all things, Adagio hates letting others down. He's rather hard on himself if he feels like he let his friends or allies down. His view of "letting others down" can vary depending on the situation, but he bothers himself too much with regretting his decisions.

» History:
Adagio, before he was a Yamask, was a Chatot that sought out to create a perfect song. Adagio was born an only child, raised by parents whose passions held in a field of music. Adagio's mother was a composer, and his father was a conductor.

Adagio's interests in music were piqued at a young age when he heard a Capriccio performed by a band his father was conducting. Growing up, his father and mother taught Adagio everything they knew regarding music. Before long, Adagio's parents found themselves help Adagio create his first song under a beautiful tree, which rested upon an elevated hill in the midst of a grassy plain. Upon learning all he could from his parents, he fantasized about creating the perfect song. Each day, Adagio grew more inspired to make his dream come true.
Finally, Adagio became tired of waiting and asked his parents if he could travel and gather knowledge around the world. Adagio's parents refused at first, and it took a good month of constant convincing until Adagio's parents gave Adagio their consent to let him travel the world. Excitedly, Adagio packed up all necessities he could carry and set out, eager to finally realize his dreams. Adagio traveled from place to place, learning from every town library, or every town musician he could. At each stop, Adagio wrote down notes and got progressively closer to creating his "Perfect Overture".

En route to a new town to learn from, a group of dog-like Pokemon ambushed Adagio and threatened to harm Adagio if he did not comply with their demands. Adagio, possessing with no combat experience, had no choice but to comply. Adagio was forced to forfeit his belongings to the group of Pokemon. Adagio's scores and notes were ripped apart, his personal baton was broken beyond repair, and worst yet, his magnum opus: the "Perfect Overture," was destroyed. Adagio watched in horror as his mementos and dreams from his quest were being destroyed right in front of his very eyes. The group of Pokemon, angered and dissatisfied with Adagio's "worthless" belongings, attacked and killed Adagio. Adagio did not cry, he did not scream. Adagio simply went out with a pathetic whimper.

A good 5 months passed before Adagio would wake up once again. Adagio woke up in the exact spot he was killed in, holding onto what seemed to be a Chatot's mask. He also noticed something rather odd; namely, he had no wings! Frightfully, he searched for the nearest body of water and gazed at his reflection. Adagio stared at the reflection, wide-eyed. It was no Chatot's face, but a Yamask's! Horrified, he left the body of water and denied his predicament in his head.

Adagio decided to go back to his home, feeling beaten and exhausted. Along the long way home, he finally came to accept that he was, in fact, dead.

When Adagio arrived at his home, his parents mistook him for a stranger. Adagio tried to convince his parents that he was their son. At first, Adagio's parents rejected the idea that their son could possibly be dead, and a Yamask, no less. Adagio's parents challenged Adagio, telling him that he must prove that he was their son by performing the first song they wrote together. Adagio remembered that all his scores were destroyed by the group of Pokemon who killed him. Adagio concentrated under the shade of the same tree he created his first song under. Each day, Adagio would try to hum a recollection of the song. Adagio's parents watched the now-Yamask Adagio, feeling pity for the Yamask that struggled to remember the song day by night.

After a good month, Adagio finally remembered the song he and his parents created. Adagio confronted his parents once again and hummed the song he created. Adagio cried while humming the song, remembering his dream, and remembering each step taken to achieve his dream with each broken tone. Adagio's parents interrupted Adagio before he finished the song, noticing his pain. They needed no more proof. Adagio and his parents embraced each other, sobbing under the tempo of the late rain.

Adagio stayed with his parents for a full 6 months, getting the rest and emotional therapy he needed to cope with the events prior. At the end of the 6 months, Adagio decided to leave and travel once again. This time, Adagio's parents were prepared for such a proposition. Adagio's mother gave Adagio a case filled with blank score sheets and tools to fill out said score sheets, to replace the score sheets that were destroyed. Adagio's father gave Adagio his old baton, back from when Adagio's father was a composer.  Adagio clung to these presents, as he tearfully said goodbye to the restful life he once knew.

He set out, as a wanderer and seeker of knowledge yet again, in hopes that he can spark his dreams once again and in hopes he can one day inspire an orchestra in Pokemon's hearts with the perfect song.

» Other:
-In battle, he holds his mask, which looks like a Chatot face, like a shield; and his father's baton like a sword.

-Adagio possesses some musical knowledge. Being a Yamask, Adagio was able to retain his previous memories from when he was a Chatot. It's thanks to this that he's able to recreate some of the score sheets that were destroyed.

(Up for Adoption) Adagio the Yamask Empty
PostSubject: Re: (Up for Adoption) Adagio the Yamask   (Up for Adoption) Adagio the Yamask EmptyMon Nov 07, 2016 6:16 pm

Sorry for the delay!  Your bio brought with it some uncommon problems which took a while to sort out. That said, there are still a few issues:

1.) LEVEL

Technically, the level is fine, but... are you sure you want your character to start off at level two?  The maximum starting level is five.

2.) NATURAL FEATS

Natural feats are things that the character gains naturally, as opposed to learned skills or talents.  Musical knowledge should be in either the personality or the "other" section.  There is no minimum requirement for feats, so you're fine with just the one for the ability.

3.) LIKES/DISLIKES

Put simply, the likes and dislikes you have listed are a bit repetitive and generic.  Music makes up half of the likes and dislikes(3/6) while two of the three remaining slots are filled by food.  You can keep all of these, but you'll need to add a few more original, distinct likes and dislikes.  Remember: three is the minimum, but there is no maximum.

P.S.

Don't worry about the length; that's nothing for me.

Sorry for the wait, but I hope I fixed most of the errors!

I was worried the history wouldn't cut it. I edited it one too many times, so I'm relieved that the history didn't appear to bring up any major problems!

Sorry, your Character Bio cannot be approved due to the following reason:

1.) NATURAL FEATS

You must have misunderstood me.  A feat for your chosen ability is necessary.  However, you can keep it to just a simple description of the ability.
