PostSubject: The First Power Breaker   The First Power Breaker EmptyFri Jul 07, 2017 6:35 am

Well, it was time. After a bit of training at the surrounding areas and getting a feel for the land. Horochi finally felt ready to join Grassveil Guild. Not only would joining a guild give him better opportunities to train, but he could also make a decent living helping those in need. As Horochi walked through the front door, he felt his heartbeat quicken, like it would pop right out of his tiny chest akin to some sort of alien scatterbug or something. From the adrenaline rush, he could feel his Speed Boost ability kicking in. Even though he was in a docile environment, he was still getting some sort of "fight or flight" response from it, despite it being not nearly as satisfying as combat. About 30 meters into the building, he figured that he should just rush through and get it over with, so he ran around the building until he found the guildmaster's quarters. With a deep breath, Horochi knocked on the door with his talons.

PostSubject: Re: The First Power Breaker   The First Power Breaker EmptyFri Jul 07, 2017 2:51 pm

As Horochi knocked on the door, it already creaked open, clearly not having even been fully closed in the first place. A soft humming had been coming from inside, but when the door opened, the humming stopped. Faye heard the sound, her head craning in the direction over her shoulder, a small metallic watering can held firmly in one of her vines. Behind the massive wooden desk was quite the array of various plants, their pots littering the table and the shelves on the back wall. A pleasant aroma wafted in the air.

"Ah," was the only thing the Meganium managed to get out of her throat, having been a bit surprised, but a smile soon returned on her lips and she looked down at the small Torchic. A newcomer, she could tell – she knew everyone in the Guild, after all!
"Welcome, sweetie. Are you looking for someone?" She asked as she placed the watering can on the table next to a few potted plants and turned around properly, walking closer.

Horochi got flustered when the door creaked open upon him knocking on it. The humming he heard from outside stopped when it did, further adding onto that feeling of accidentally invading someone's privacy. The door opened to reveal a room figuratively flooded with potted plants, many of which Horochi didn't even recognize. Further inside was a wooden desk and shelves, all with more plants of varying appearances, and just behind the desk was a meganium holding a little metal watering can with a thin vine protruding from under her flower.

When she asked Horochi if he was looking for someone, he tried to shake off his embarrassment and just decided to continue with his end goal. "Yea', ya th' guil'master?" Horochi casually asked walking into the room and shutting the door behind him. Once fully shut, he began looking at some of the more eye-catching plants in view to try and calm himself down.

Faye nodded with a smile at the Torchic's question.
"I am indeed. My name is Faye. Were you looking for me?" She asked, tilting her head. The little Pokémon already walked further in the room, but the Meganium didn't seem like she was bothered by the interruption. Yes, perhaps it was time for her to do a bit of something else. She motioned at the two small chairs in front of the desk with her vine.
"Would you like to take a seat? Ah, or would you perhaps like a cup of tea…?"

"Yea, I was actually, name's Horochi by th' way." The chick pokemon replied. He felt calmer after viewing Faye's collection of potted plants, which he thought was for the better since first impressions mean almost everything in that kind of scenario, so when Faye offered him a seat and tea, he didn't want to seem rude, so he answered "Yea, both a those thing' soun' 'ice right now, thanks." plopping his feathery posterior into one of the chairs she motioned towards. The little flame avian felt like he could get used to having someone like Faye as his guildmaster, since she was being quite nice to him despite never meeting him before.

"It's good to meet you, Horochi," Faye couldn't help but chuckle softly as the little Pokémon walked further into her room, his accent rather thick – in an endearing way. He did accept both a seat and tea, so the Meganium didn't waste any time turning around towards the pot of herbal tea she had brewed a while earlier, luckily still hot enough for a little wisp of steam to waft from it. She fetched a cup and poured some of the green, aromatic liquid into it.

"Now, what was it that you needed me for, sweetie?" She turned back to the Torchic as she asked her question, one of her vines bringing the cup over and placing it on the desk in front of the other Pokémon.

"Nice t' mee'cha too, Faye," Horochi replied. As he made himself comfortable in his seat, he couldn't help but notice how much her name sounded like "bae" after saying it for himself, but he decided not to mention it in fear of sounding immature. After she gave him his tea, he immediately took a small sip. It was fairly bitter, but pleasant none the less.

When Faye asked Horochi what he needed her for, he knew the time had come. Either he'd join the Grassveil guild, or just go train some more and try again another day, so he decided to get to the point of his visit. "Well, t' be perfe'ly hones', I was hopin' t' join th' guild," he answered.

Faye nodded and walked over to her usual spot behind the heavy wooden desk that had served her well for so many years. It seemed like Horochi's reason to visit as an outsider was the same that most other Pokémon had: he wanted to join the Guild. With a smile, the Meganium's gentle eyes settled on the Torchic.
"That sounds wonderful, sweetie. We don't have a habit of turning down anyone who is willing to try and knows their limits as to not push themselves too hard. But do tell me… How much do you know about Grassveil Guild – or any other Guilds, if you're familiar with something else? I am here to answer any questions you might have."

Horochi took another sip of tea as he pondered the almost 2m tall herb pokemon's question. How much DID he know about Grassveil Guild or just guilds in general? He had never really thought about it before, but he might as well try. "Well, I tha' Grassveil's a place where pokemon train an' form Explora-shin Teams, as well 's ta' jobs from bulletin boards tha're from other pokemon in distress, so the pokemon here help 'em either 'cause they'll give 'em somethin' they wan' 'r jus' outta th' sheer kin'ness a their hearts, usually th' former," Horochi answered.

Faye listened to the Torchic's knowledge, a smile still on her lips. Well, he did have the gist of it…
"Everyone has their own motivations," she hummed, not sure how many Pokémon were doing it for the rewards… But she wasn't asking and she didn't judge. All Pokémon deserved to be rewarded well for a job well done, after all.
"Do you think that's the kind of a life you would like to live? Or I suppose experience. Nothing forces you to stay if you don't feel like it was the right path for you, dearie."

Horochi had already thought about his reason for joining the guild before coming. He wanted to get stronger so that he could eventually evolve into a blaziken, and helping out pokemon who needed it was an added bonus, as well as the fact that joining the guild would let him help others on a much more frequent basis. Also, even after he became the mega evolution-capable pokemon of his dreams, he could still help others and keep his skills sharp simultaneously, so he thought that the guild life would suit him. "Yea, tha's what I wanna do. I've already thawed abou' it, an' it seems li' th' perfe' way t' help others, git stronger, an' make a soli' livin' all a' once," he enthusiastically told Faye.

"I see," Faye smiled, giving the little Pokémon a nod. Seemed like Horochi had made his choice before he had even walked into the Guild – and it was what many Pokémon did, but not all. Some had many questions they needed to ask before they could join – and what better place was there to ask them than the Guild itself? The Meganium's gaze rested on the Torchic as she asked her next question.
"Have you decided on a team name yet? There's not much you need to actually join the Guild, but that is one of them."

"A team name?" Horochi wondered. He thought that a team name was only required for multiple pokemon. Maybe the guild just had solo pokemon come up with one in advance so that they would have to later, but then their first teammate might not like the name, so would they be able to change it later? Regardless, Horochi had to come up with one. He took another sip of tea and thought about a name that would suit him. His overall goal was to become more powerful, so maybe he could incorporate that into his name. After thinking about it for a bit, something clicked in Horochi's mind. That's what his team name was going to be. After another sip of tea, he told Faye "How 'bout "Th' Power Breakers?""

Faye just nodded as the little Pokémon started to ponder about a name for his team. Seemed like he hadn't given it much thought – but to be fair, not many had. Perhaps with all the excitement that came with joining the Guild, something like a name didn't even come to mind! It was important and difficult to come up with one, but one was often decided on soon enough. And luckily for everyone, it could always be changed.

Horochi finally spoke up after a moment of silence, coming up with an idea.
"Team Power Breakers… I don't see a reason why not, if you like it, dearie," the Meganium hummed, giving the Torchic a nod. It wasn't the worst she had heard!
"Do you want to go ahead with the registration, or do you need more time?"

Horochi was confused for a bit. Was that really all there was to it? Just waltz in, be friendly towards the guildmaster, and come up with a team name? This seemed all too easy to him. There would surely be some sort of catch to it all, like a whole bunch of fees or something, but Horochi decided to just worry about those things if they ever come up. "Yea, I wanna go straigh' t' registra-shin now, but is this all there is t' th' process, jus' show up, say I wanna join 'n come up with a team name?" he asked.
