PostSubject: Tranquil Reflections   Tranquil Reflections EmptyFri Jan 01, 2016 10:16 pm

The Beldum hovered just on the shore of the pond, looking into its own reflection upon the smooth, blue waters. Though it would rather be there accompanied by a friend, Adamantine chose to meditate over the past events on its lonesome. Perhaps all of this happens for a reason. Perhaps my detachment from my kin was no accident, the Aron I encountered was meant to be. Though I am not necessarily sure that it is divine fate, it is a major possibility... the Steel/Psychic type thought while nodding. Sure, it had accepted its severed connections with the flock and chose to continue on its own rather than search for them, but the sense of isolation lingered.

It was very peaceful in the surrounding area, not a sound to be heard. Adamantine stayed silent and continued to study its reflection. Still the same as usual. Its Joy Ribbon tied like a band around its midsection, the Iron Ball Pokémon resembled how it once appeared to be when it was younger. The only large change would have to be its speech, having its progress be hindered by the lack of presence of its flock. Though its vocabulary was somewhat on the higher and sophisticated side, the speech pattern's tone and emotion was completely unnoticeable. Though the Aron had done its best, Adamantine still talked "like a robot", as some would call it. "...There must be an answer." the metal entity said to itself.

Coming from the guild, an Abra can be seen walking in the direction of the pond. Around his upper arm is a purple ribbon, the one he received when he created his team. The idea of him being able to call himself a guild member gave him a form of excitement. While he has hardly done anything for the guild, he still likes the idea of going on missions. However, missions are better with someone to do them with.

When Clyde reached the pond, he could see a blue Pokemon floating over the water on the other side. He hadn't seen this particular being around, but the Abra wanted to learn more about him. Instead of walking like he did to the pond, Clyde teleported beside the stranger. If the Pokemon was hostile, he could always vanish quickly.

"Are you okay?" Clyde simply asked from behind. The floating blue Pokemon was just looking at itself in the reflection. From what Clyde could see, the Pokemon only had an eye, so he couldn't guess the emotion of the Pokemon based on facial expression.

The foreign voice from behind the Beldum slightly startled Adamantine. Hadn't it been alone for the time being? Turning around, it could identify the entity's species as an Abra. Not only was it a Psychic type, but the Pokémon appeared to be more experienced than it as well. The Beldum took a moment to study the stranger, then nodded. "Yes, I am feeling alright." it said in its usual robotic voice. It wouldn't be surprised if the Abra was put off by its tone; most Pokémon felt very awkward once Adam started speaking. However, being a Psychic type like itself, he might understand why its speech pattern was so choppy and emotionless.

Adamantine drew its attention off of its previous thoughts as it proceeded to talk to the Abra. "Please excuse me for my prior action, I believed that I was alone here." it began. The Steel/Psychic type's eye shifted to the purple ribbon tied around the Abra's arm. ...So this Pokémon is a member of the guild. Interesting. it thought, wondering about its own status in joining. "I am Adamantine, but most refer to me as 'Adam'. However, you may call me whatever you wish. I do not mind. Tell me, what is your name, stranger?"

Clyde looked at the Beldum with interest. He thought it was interesting how the Pokemon moved, talked, looked, but Clyde set aside the part of him who wanted to learn every aspect about something. This was the time to get to know somebody, not the time to research. Research can come later.

"It's fine, I kinda did take you by surprise. And I'm Clyde. I come here at times and do the same thing." Meditating out in the open can look strange to those that do not partake in the act, but the Abra understood it. He didn't see it as strange. He was glad to see others do it, it made him feel less odd.

"What brings you to this little pond?" Clyde hadn't seen the Beldum around, but that doesn't mean it didn't live nearby. The Steel type seemed friendly enough not to have any bad intentions. Clyde guessed he was just looking for somewhere to go, or perhaps he was lost. Maybe both.

To say the very least, it was surprised at how casually Clyde was taking this. In fact, it was even delighted at how it wasn't the only Pokémon partaking in said action. "Well, it is a true pleasure to meet you, Clyde." Adamantine responded with its version of a smile... or what would be if it had a mouth. Though not having the "necessary" functions of life, Beldum such as itself had the abilities that mammals possess, such as the need to eat and breathe. "I am simply here to take an intermission and recollect my thoughts. Due to my desire to join the Grassveil Guild, I am required to consider my options of teams and my own development." In fact, unless researchers were wrong in their tests, it would need to find another Beldum in order to evolve.

Though it may seem like a wise choice, I should not concentrate on the distant future. For now, I will focus on my own strength as I am and evolve when I am ready. it resolved with a nod. "I do not suppose you are from the guild, no? If you are, I have quite a few questions. I have been extremely curious as to their processes and methods. the metal entity stated. Adamantine wasn't in a hurry to apply, so a bit of prior information would aid it in adjusting to the atmosphere easier.

"I am a member of the guild." Clyde answered. It wasn't a lie, but he knew he wasn't the most qualified to answer the questions this Beldum may have concerning the guild. While he hasn't done much for the guild, he hopes to change that soon. Hopefully he would be able to take a job and succeed at the task.

"What exactly would you like to know?" The Abra began to prepare his mind for some questions the Beldum may have. He went through his knowledge of the guild and prepared something for living conditions, people, jobs, etc.

Clyde feared he would be unable to answer Adam's questions as in depth as he wanted. The Psi Pokemon still considered himself new to the guild. It is times like these he wishes he were more active, but jobs can be difficult in a team of one. While he knew it was possible, he didn't think he could do it by himself. At least not yet.

Adam's eye lit up with glee when Clyde agreed to answer its questions. This was its chance to learn all there was to know about the guild before applying! "My gratitude. Where do I begin? My first source of curiosity revolves around the identity of the Guildmaster. I know their species is that of a Grass type, but specifics are very blurred in my memory. I would like to know about their personality and demeanor while confronting guild members." the Beldum said with a monotone. If the metal entity had seen the Guildmaster at least once, its photographic memory would kick in and let the image stick with it. Unfortunately, to its dismay, it had not set claw in the establishment since it arrived.

A thought suddenly struck the Steel type. What team did Clyde belong to? Of course, Adamantine expected a lot of strong members with very close bonds inside and out of guild work. "Pardon my impulsive questioning, but might I ask what team you belong to?" it said with a feeling of politeness. It wanted to know exactly about Clyde's team, no matter how big or small, for the sake of giving him some credit for actually applying. In fact, if the Beldum put its mind to it, it could float right up to the guild afterwards and sign up as well. It appears that I am once again getting ahead of the present topic... I will focus more on being patient and less giddy about this.

Clyde was happy it was a question he could answer easily. He began thinking back to when he first arrived at the guild and formed an image of the Guildmaster.

"The Guildmaster's name is Faye, a Meganium. When I first arrived at the guild, she was warm and welcoming. Very enthusiastic about new members. There isn't any reason that I can think of to fear her." Clyde liked Faye. She was very kind when the Abra came into contact with her. From his time with her, he couldn't think of any thing to be worried about when meeting her. Unless the Beldum did not like people who seemed over enthusiastic, he couldn't see any complications.

When the steel type asked about his team, Clyde smiled nervously because his team didn't have any noteworthy credentials. He had high doubts of anyone knowing of his team, but that could change in the future. But there was nothing wrong with being curious, if anything it was a good thing the Beldum had some curiosity.

"I belong to Team Rumble, a team of one." Thinking back to when he named his team, he wished he had chosen a name that actually meant something to him. There wasn't really any special meaning to the name, but maybe one would show up.

Adamantine nodded with satisfaction. If Faye was as easygoing and welcoming as Clyde had described her to be, it had nothing to worry about while meeting with the Meganium. If anything, that would make it all the more easier. "...I see. Thank you for informing me on the Guildmaster's traits, I will keep them in mind when I am motivated to apply." the Beldum answered. The Abra seemed to know quite a bit about the guild itself, so the Steel type listened in for the answer to its second question. The answer, however, was actually the opposite of what it expected. Apparently, Clyde was on a team by his lonesome: something Adamantine never thought of as possible.

"Team Rumble. It does not sound like a very fitting name, but that should not stop you from using it if you see it as of personal preference." the metal entity replied. It was at that moment that the Beldum had an idea; what if it offered to join Clyde's team? He seemed like the type of Pokémon to be reliable and trustworthy. "Seeing as you do not have any team members, I do have a proposition. Would you perhaps allow me to join your team? I am willing to prove my abilities if you need proof." Adamantine said with its version of a smirk. Though its only attack was Take Down, the Iron Ball Pokémon's weight would certainly play an important role in a battle.

Clyde chuckled when the Beldum said the name didn't seem fitting. "I thought it was an odd name too. I forgot to prepare one. Maybe I can change it?" Clyde didn't mind the idea of having a different name. Something that was a little more fitting to him and future team members.

When the blue Pokemon had asked to join his team, Clyde got slightly excited. A Beldum wouldn't be a bad addition to his team. The Pokemon seemed logical and reading its emotions wouldn't be a problem with his abilities. Clyde thought for a moment, and then agreed. "Sounds good to me! Would be nice to have someone to do missions with." Clyde looked at the Beldum with an authentic smile. However, they had just met, so the Psychic type would have to pay attention to Adam to be sure it could be trusted. At the moment, they seemed trustworthy, but things can always change.

"Ah, then it is settled! I am glad to be accepted!" the robot-like Pokémon exclaimed. Though it still sounded like a prerecorded, machine-generated response, Adamantine meant to put all of the enthusiasm it had into those words. A slight change in its voice was present, which brought joy to its mood. Even though the progress was slow, the Beldum was sure that one day he would be able to at least show a little emotion. The tone was neither masculine nor feminine, but rather a simple change in pitch that set it apart from his constant monotone. The Steel type never really minded the fact that he had no gender; he had never felt attracted to much of anyone and wouldn't mind who it would be.

That aside, it was reassuring to know that he had a team now. Seeing as there were only two of them, Adamantine preferred to not be a "leader", if Clyde wished to have one. "As that is settled, I also have another offer. Would you like to give me a nickname? I do not mind if you do not wish to do so, but I find it polite to ask if we will be working together soon." it offered. To be honest, Clyde didn't seem like the type to name stuff with thought (like his team), but it didn't care. So long as the Abra was happy with it, it didn't necessarily matter. Amazing... I've been here for only a short time and already made myself a friend. This will be an immensely interesting experience.

Clyde was happy to have someone on his team finally. Now he wouldn't need to go on missions alone, and it was nice to have someone with him to watch his back while he watched theirs. What could be the worse thing that could happen with a new team member? Clyde didn't see them putting their lives in danger anytime soon, but one can never be sure what lies ahead of them.

"I think I'll just call you Adam." The Abra didn't have a problem with his name, so he didn't see any reason to change it. "Feel free to call me whatever you want." He didn't see any problems with a nickname, but he couldn't think of another name for himself.

"I just hope you don't mind how much I sleep." Clyde said seeming like a joke, but partially wasn't. He slept a lot so that he can be able to teleport and use his other psychic abilities. Hopefully when he evolves, this need would leave him. But he could see why some might get annoyed, especially if they don't realize he must get a large amount of rest. While he didn't mind, others could be slowed down by him.

Adamantine nodded at Clyde's response to his offer. Adam was the nickname given to it by the Aron, so it had no objections. "I see. I am not able to think of anything special to call you at the moment, so I suppose Clyde will do unless something appears." the Beldum replied. When the Abra mentioned his sleep habits, it simply scoffed. "I hardly think that will be a problem; if it becomes one, a simple stash of Chesto Berries will solve that." Though it was meant as sarcasm, the metal entity wondered if that would have to be a necessary option. ...No, I do not believe that will be a reality. Besides, it cannot be that bad. Though I'm not much for sleeping, I'm sure that Clyde will need more rest.

"That aside, would you like to do anything or shall we depart for the guild? I am fine with either due to the fact that I "have all the time in the world". Metaphorically, of course, considering I am not Dialga." it said with a lighthearted look in its eye. Adamantine was in no rush to join the guild; besides, Clyde seemed like he was in the mood to think of a new team name, and the only way he could do that was to confront Faye herself.

"Do you want to come up with a new team name?" it made sense to Clyde to think of a new name. The other name was made up on the spot due to being unprepared for registration. "Maybe something that fits us a little more" Clyde joked.

Clyde thought for a moment on a new name, but he couldn't think of one he liked. "The first thing that comes to mind is Team Mystery, but I don't know." He shrugged and allowed for Adams input. Team Mystery sounded okay, but something that sounds fine to himself could sound dumb to someone else.

The event that occurred today was something Clyde did not anticipate. A new member? Not something he expected, but something that could benefit him in the future. Or hinder him if something goes wrong. He brushes the idea off that something seriously bad would happen to them. But they would need to get stronger to be prepared for whatever might pop up in their path.

"I do believe a new team name is in order; Rumble does not suit you nor me in any way." the Beldum agreed. It listened to Clyde's idea, but didn't like it very much. "...That name will not stand out very much either. The concept of mystery is already used in a guild team, Team Mystical." it said flatly. After all, the last thing Adamantine would want would be to be confused for another team. Its spherical head turned to face the pond, where a glow shined from the clear blue waters... The sight was almost inspiring. The sunlight gently caressed and polished the waves until they shined with a sort of radiant glow. Radiant... Radiance. Team Radiance! it thought with glee. The idea was too good to pass up, so the Steel type brought it to the attention of his teammate.

"I believe I have come up with an answer to our predicament. Perhaps we could rename this team to 'Team Radiance'? I find it to be a unique name with true meaning, resembling more than just sounding cool." Of course, it wasn't the metal entity's decision alone; the name had to receive the confirmation from Clyde in order to make it official. Though a decent name, they at least both agreed that Team Rumble had to go. "So, how do you think it sounds? Shall we settle on Team Radiance or continue brainstorming, Clyde?" Adamantine offered.
