---- Group's Current State ----

The Solution 1tke9pS

The air felt still in the quiet room; it gave off an eerie vibe. The silence, the calm, the open space.... it was all such a big contrast to what'd just happened. That coupled with anticipation was almost enough to unnerve the psychotic, fractured mind of the glaceon in the room.... Almost. If it were Sova, it would have most certainly made him feel uneasy at the very least, but as stated earlier, the mind of the glaceon was fractured. There were two pieces, and the one currently in control was not going to be so easily intimidated by a mere room.

S.S. began to grin in anticipation nearing the center of the room. He could hardly restrain himself from carelessly dumping the contents of his bag to get at the music box and wind it up. Instead, he decided to lay down in the center of the room as he waited for the rest of his group to catch up. Maybe they needed a break.... but did he really care? He stuck his injured paw into his bag.... then paused for a moment. He didn't know quite how bad the little paw injury was since he'd been suppressing his pain reflex. He didn't know if he was making it worse, and he didn't know if it could take the stress of his constant romping around.

Of course, the pain was still there. He'd just been.... ignoring it. Suppressing it. He decided to really feel it for a moment, just to check, and.... well, it hurt. However, it mostly felt sore, not like it was about to break. Now the rest of his body was a different story! His entire body stung from some of the hits he and his weaker half - mostly said weaker half - had sustained. He felt a bit tired still despite having allowed himself to relax too, but that part wasn't news. He wasn't in the greatest shape in the world, but there it wasn't too severe as far as he could tell. Most of the injuries were minor, they just.... added up. The only major ones were the paw and a cut under his right eye that he could feel stinging despite it having been a while ago. This settled it; Sova had just passed out from exhaustion coupled with shock due to pain. Or.... well, was it really passing out?

Either way, all that mattered was that his body was still capable of fighting for him, which it was. He wasn't in perfect condition by any means, but after a short rest, he'd be capable of fighting just as well as usual. Although he still didn't know for sure whether any more fighting would be done or not. He very much wanted to find out, though, which led his thoughts back to the music box. His paw was already in the bag, so.... he just.... went right on ahead and pulled the box out. He stared down at the box, temptation to wind it up rising, but he resisted. Just a few more minutes and he'd be able to sate his desire.

It interested him so much, in fact, that he no longer cared about tormenting Jak.

(So, you guys wanna have a timeskip for a silent, awkward break, then wind the box up? Or just a few posts of chitchat? I'm hoping I'm not the only one who doesn't fancy spending a whole lot of time on this. Could just have this be a short, 4 post thread.)

Varda's body was aching. There was a lot it had suffered just recently – and not just bruises and the freezing cold, but also a whole evolution in the middle there somewhere! Had he been the Pokémon he was when he first came to Grassveil Town… Well, he probably wouldn't be standing and walking right now. His legs had pretty much been frozen just a moment ago, now tingling in a strange manner as the blood started to circulate in them properly. A moment to rest sounded like an amazing idea to the Altaria's body, but his mind knew they might not have a chance to do that. They were running out of time.

The long, practically endless hallway had actually come to an end. A door had led the trio into a smaller room, one with a door clearly visible on the other side. A large, heavy, looming door… Certainly something that seemed like an important entryway, an important room just had to be on the other side. Varda stopped for a moment as he looked at the door. Was this it, maybe? Their destination? This was the first time he had ever been in the mansion, so he did not know what he was looking for. But he couldn't help but feel like it all might finally be over.

It was quiet in the room. The candles on the wall flickered, but nothing else really seemed to be moving – aside from him, Sova and Jak, of course. Varda glanced at the lizard to make sure he was still looking like he could walk before looking at Sova. Sova seemed… A bit strange, but that was expected. The mansion had been difficult to all of them, of that he was sure. All of them were battered and bruised, tired. But still, they continued.

"Is this the place?" The Altaria finally spoke up, breaking the silence as he asked a question from his friend. Sova knew where to go.

((I go with whatever seems to fit the thread! So skip and end things when you want if you feel like it and stuff, I'm fine with anything.))

Jak continued to walk into the room. He eventually passed the Pokémon that sat sulking on the ground, an ice ghost type. The same one that had bound its destiny to him. It had scorch marks all over its body, along with many bruises from its encounter with S.S. Jak gave it a good look, tears were falling from the Pokémon along with a hint of worry across its face.

“Nothing will hurt you anymore… just stay there.” the fire type stated quietly towards the Pokémon as he turned to continue towards the center of the room where the ice type was. As he started to catch up to the fluffy bird, he heard it ask if this was the place. He looked around for a moment, noting what the room looked like. It was indeed the same room he had been in before, right when his music box pieces were taking. “Yes, this is the room.” he stated as he passed the bird.

Approaching the ice type, "Let's get this over with now… Wind the damned thing up.” he stated in a firm tone. The pain was not so apparent in his voice as time had went on when he entered the room. He just wanted to get this over with now, especially since there was a chance something was going to attack them again after playing the music. It was ever so hinted by the natives of this area that it would wake something up… why wait? Having just begun to lose some reason, Jak didn’t care what happened next… he just wanted the whole ordeal to end.

PostSubject: Re: The Solution   The Solution EmptyMon Dec 28, 2015 9:24 pm

S.S. sat and listened as the bird questioned if this was the correct place.  He was contemplating answering, but it seemed the lizard was eager to do so for him.  Then he was spoken directly to, and while Jak's voice seemed a bit more demanding than he appreciated, he actually liked that this guy was so willing to act in such a manner toward him.  Most either feared him or didn't care, but Jak.... just disliked him.  It was a truly refreshing change.

For a response, he gave a strained chuckle, as if he was trying to restrain himself from laughing maniacally.  He was.  He began to wind the box up with his uninjured paw, slowly and carefully, making sure not to let it slip and start playing before he was done.  The anticipation was indescribable, and the thought of how hesitant Sova would have been here.... entertained him.  His grin began to fade as the box continued to be wound; the look on his face turning to something that almost seemed.... serious....  He still held a slight grin, but it was certainly a contrast to the big, maniacal smiles usually plastered on his face.  Right now, he actually seemed sane.

He felt resistance from the crank, which told him it was completely wound.  He slowly rose to his paws, holding his paw against the crank of the box still to stop it from playing for just a moment longer.  His gaze rose to meet the other two, and he first looked to Varda, then Jak.... then down at himself.  This group was in very bad shape.  He wondered if Jak would be able to handle a fight right now....  He very much hoped so, as he somewhat liked this charmeleon in his own twisted way.  He didn't want his new playmate to die to anyone.... other than him.  He then looked back up at Jak before speaking in a very serious tone.

"Whatever happens next.... you'd better not die."

Then the paw was lifted and the box was allowed to play.

(Alright then, les do dis. Now to wait for an admin.)

The Solution Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Solution   The Solution EmptyMon Dec 28, 2015 10:07 pm

The music box was cranked, and the box was allowed to play its tune. The haunting melody echoed off the empty walls and bounced around the chamber as the sound reached the throne. While the melody played, all was silent. It played for a full minute before it began to slow and grind to a halt. A minute passed...nothing happened. Another minute passed...nothing happened. A third minute passed...the room began to rumble and shake. Old dusty silverware on the table began to tremble, and pots were knocked off shelves and crashed into the floor. Many ghostly figures suddenly erupted from hiding spots, many of them crying out in fear and opened the door, blasting it off its hinges and ruining the door. A frosslass moved past them, crying out, "YOU FOOLS!" as it fled the room and into the passageway.

A visible dark aura began gathering around near the throne, swirling around it and expanding as it consumed the entire throne. The dark aura seemed to be moving, rapidly swirling faster and faster until it suddenly exploded outwardly to reveal a figure seated in the throne.

Its dark figure almost blended with the darkness, the dark red collar around its neck glowing ominously for a moment before fading away as its piercing blue eyes and contrasting white hair flowed along behind it. One of its long clawed hands held it upright as it looked at the trio with the music box, its other hand holding an empty tea-cup that it swirled around a bit on one finger as if out of boredom.

"'Sup?" it spoke, holding its gaze at the three with relaxed look, "You three don't look so good. Why'd you wake me up?"

PostSubject: Re: The Solution   The Solution EmptyMon Dec 28, 2015 11:07 pm

Varda watched as the Glaceon started to wind up the music box with the key. Each rotation made an odd little mechanical crackling sound, one, two… And finally, three. The number of times they were supposed to wind the music box. And, as one could have expected – or maybe not, as just a moment ago the box was in pieces and they had been forced to put it together… It started to play a tune. It was a simple little melody, as music box pieces often were. The bird certainly was happy that he was there to finally hear it.

That would have been enough for him to consider the mission a fulfilling one, if the clouds outside weren't so dark and if Pokémon weren't slowly being driven to become feral. They had to do more to truly be successful. But once the tune came to an end, nothing happened. Not for a little while, not for a long while… It just was quiet and awkward.
"Well, um… What do we–"

Suddenly, the ground started to shake. The tremors traveled up the bird's legs, shaking his entire body… And the entire room! Various objects stacked on shelves and the table clattered from the trembling before things started to fall down, creating an awful ruckus as the metallic objects clanged against the floor and the ceramics just shattered into millions of little pieces!

And just as suddenly, various ghostly shapes erupted from their hidey holes, rushing towards the trio that had brought the box in! Varda used his wings to shield his face, closing his eyes as he braced for impact… And nothing. With a blink, the Altaria lowered his wings, only to see how the ghosts made it to the exit as if they were chased by something.

Maybe they were. The room grew dark, despite the candles. It was as if the shadows grew and became tangible, rising from the floor to blanket the entire room underneath them. Yet in the middle, where a strange throne was, a new figure had appeared. Varda hadn't even noticed it at once, as it seemed to blend into the shadows, but the wisp of white and the bright, glowing eyes made it quite impossible to ignore it. Maybe it was a Pokémon? Maybe… Even a nice Pokémon? The Altaria grew hopeful as the being didn't attack, instead deciding to chat with the three.

The bird couldn't help but smile, taking a few careful steps closer – and not because he was afraid, but because his legs were still feeling quite weak.
"Oh, hello!" He chirped cheerily, greeting the newcomer,
"We came here to see if um, maybe you could help us? With what's going on outside?"

The Solution Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Solution   The Solution EmptyTue Dec 29, 2015 1:16 am

Jak watched as the ice type cranked the box up to play its dark tune. The same tune he had heard before it had completed. This time, silence grew when it was finished. Jak looked around for a moment, the air being still and silent. Just as Varda went to ask what they should do next, the room began to shake violently as items from the surrounding shelves fell to the ground, some shattering.

The large door in the back of the room had swung open so fast, it sounded like an explosion occurred. Jak watched as the froslass that been next to him quickly got up, despite its injuries. It got up and cried out that they were fools as it ran off. Jak quickly snapped back towards the direction of the door as the dark shadows filled the room and then seemed to condense into a figure at the throne.

Jak watched as the figure formed, a figure one he would never forget. A Pokémon made of shadows and smoke. Jak stared at it as it remained where it was. It seemed to be bored as it spun a tea-cup in one of its clawed hands. It spoke out towards the trio, its words came off rather… odd to Jak. It spoke as if there wasn’t anything this Pokémon could care about. This gave Jak a bit of a bad feeling inside as he listened to the bird suddenly respond back to the dark type.

The bird seemed oh so cheery about meeting this new person. Jak listened as Varda asked if this Pokémon could help us with what was going on outside. However, considering the type this Pokémon was. Jak had a really nasty feeling that told him this Pokémon was the cause of the issue. Would it really be willing to stop? That was to be told, but Jak was going to wait before taking any action this time. He was in no condition to get into a large fight, so he would rather avoid it if it is possible.

The Solution Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Solution   The Solution EmptyTue Dec 29, 2015 12:33 pm

The melody of the box was.... disappointing; a total letdown. It wasn't some fancy orchestral masterpiece, though honestly, the glaceon hadn't really expected such. Still, he couldn't believe a simple music box was going to somehow save the world. From the sounds of it, the melody was going to wake something up too, but he wasn't sure this underwhelming tune was going to do any such-

Oh.

S.S. looked around as the room began to shake, almost like the house was an Autobot coming to life. Then various random residents of the chateau who were in the area began to pop up and flee, one even being so bold as to call them fools. Right now, just this once, he was willing to let it slide due to there being something far more important going on. The door to the throne room was forced open.... well, a little more than just "open," and a dark aura began to swirl within. From Sova's shared memories, he knew this wasn't supposed to happen.

His smile faded and his mouth gaped open in shock and anticipation at what was happening. He wasn't scared, just very hyped. If they had really just woken something up, it was making one Hell of an entrance. The darkness condensed around the throne and swirled for a bit before all dispersing outward, revealing.... the most intimidating thing he'd ever seen. Even in his shared memories, he couldn't find anything that looked quite as edgy as this thing.... except a painting. There'd been a painting in the house that he'd come across once.... or, a painting Sova had come across. A painting of this thing.

Then it decided to speak, and suddenly, his hype was killed. The creature spoke so.... nonchalantly, void of any efforts at intimidation. It seemed completely uncaring about the group's presence, and it showed no open signs of hostility. Did this mean they weren't going to fight? Well, he supposed that was for the best, since if they lost this one.... he'd probably never get to fight anyone again. But that didn't mean he was particularly happy about this turn of events, mostly because he was virtually useless here. Why was he still here if diplomacy was the name of the game? He was just going to let the others handle this.... and apparently, Jak felt the same, so that left Varda.

(Varda, diplomat of the world.)

The Solution Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Solution   The Solution EmptyTue Dec 29, 2015 1:55 pm

The being's gaze was drawn towards the bird as it spoke, as it asked of assistance with what was going on outside. The creature had a confused look on its face, before it glanced up at the ever so still ceiling. It allowed the tea cup to drop from its fingers into its palm, tossing the tea cup to his resting claw before flicking an ever so tiny orb of energy towards the ceiling. The orb was the size of a small baseball, however as it rocketed towards the roof it managed to expand at the last second and take out a rather large chunk of the ceiling. The hole made led to the outside, as if they were on the top floor of this mansion.

The being gazed up at the darkening cloudy sky for a moment, before dropping its eyes back down to the three that had gone out of their way to solve the puzzle to wake him.

"I see..." it spoke, "I cannot help you with this, but I can tell you what is going on."

The teacup was tossed into the air, it spun in the air before landing upside-down in the free hand of the being. He spoke up once more, "You see, an "evil", as you all might call it, once sealed and stripped of its power long ago is simply making its move again. It desires to reclaim the world under its control. I assume that there's pokemon suddenly going insane? That is merely a side affect of what he intends to do."

The creature lifted its resting arm to point at the teacup, "This is your world's order. This is what keeps balance between all pokemon, what causes peaceful resolution to conflicts, what causes regret, what causes rules and consequence for one's actions. This is everything Arceus has built up to this point, fought to keep alive and well, and used the blood of others to keep clean," The claws curled around the teacup, before closing in swiftly and shattering the teacup into little pieces. The creature reopened its claws and bits and pieces of the cup fell to the floor.

"That, is the goal of this creature," Darkrai seemed to take on a look of condescending, looking down on the group as if they were a bunch of nasty pests that needed to be squished, but it made no move to fight.

"Everyone got that? Do I need to repeat myself for any simple minded fools, or should I simply continue?" it asked, as it waved the hand it had crushed the teacup in to get the glass pieces out of it.

The Solution Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Solution   The Solution EmptyTue Dec 29, 2015 2:44 pm

Varda continued to look at the shadowy figure, smiling happily. He had a lot of hope that this would fix their problems. But the Pokémon did not reply right away. In silence, it looked up – and the bird followed, only seeing the ceiling above them and nothing else. He didn't get it. Looking back at the Pokémon made of shadows, it flicked some kind of droplet into the air, floating upwards… Until it blew a large hole in the ceiling.

The sky was out there. Even though the Altaria was certain they hadn't climbed all the way to the top, having come down the stairs multiple times on their way to this room, there was no room above them. The sky was as menacing as it had been, the clouds were dark. It didn't look like a very peaceful world – and it wasn't.

But Varda was still hopeful. That hope was crushed when the being claimed to not be able to help, the bird seeming to deflate as his smile disappeared and his gaze fell to the floor. Yet, just as fast as he had grown disappointed, the hope was once more ignited in his chest when the Pokémon could at least tell them more. The bird looked up, determined as he listened, looking at the teacup as various things were being explained. It was… A pretty long explanation and he honestly didn't understand most of it, but he felt like this Pokémon at least knew what it was talking about! So, they should ask more!

"Okay, so, our world is a teacup," the Altaria nodded as if he understood everything perfectly,
"Can we, um, get glue to fix it? Or maybe… Can we stop that whatever from breaking our teacup before it's too late? Who is this evil, anyway?"

The Solution Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Solution   The Solution EmptyTue Dec 29, 2015 7:58 pm

Jak remained where he was as the dark type spoke out to the group. It still seemed particularly uninterested in their presence as it spoke. As it mentioned that some other creature was causing the issue. Jak had a bit of a hard time believing it, however he wasn’t going to question it right away. He had never met this Pokémon before, and he will treat it like everyone else for now. He will remain open to its opinions and information until he gets his facts… for now at least.

As the pokemon ended its little lecture about the happenings occurring right now, it gave the group a look that made Jak stare straight back at it. He didn’t like it, not one bit. This Pokémon had this look that Jak just couldn’t shake off as a ‘friendly’ kind of look. He kept his eyes locked on the Pokémon, watching for any sudden movements.

When Jak heard the bird state that the world is a teacup. Jak would shake his head at the comment, but he was current busy keeping a close eye on this ‘dark master’ that the other Pokémon were so afraid of. “No, our world isn’t a teacup… however, I am curious to who the evil is also.” the fire type said flatly. “Would it be too much to acquire information on who this ‘evil’ is?” Jak asked in a plain tone of voice. He didn’t want to sound demanding, as he was sure this guy wasn’t going to be very kind about it.

The Solution Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Solution   The Solution EmptyTue Dec 29, 2015 9:08 pm

S.S. listened silently, as he was well aware this creature was implying it didn't want to repeat itself nor spend any more time chatting than it had to. It gave a brief intermission to be sure everyone was clear, and he merely nodded his head.... but his idiotic allies decided they weren't satisfied. They wanted to ask questions, and he couldn't help but feel this would provoke the creature if anything, especially since it seemed like it was already about to address what the others were asking about. He, for one, didn't want to be associated with these two if this creature could kill them and decided it didn't like all the senseless questioning.

More importantly, though.... he felt like he already knew the answer. This shadowy figure had been talking as if there was some other dark entity causing all the trouble in the world, but one thing stood out to him. The creature wasn't making any attempts at defending itself even though a certain altaria had immediately clarified they thought it was the cause. All it'd said was that it couldn't stop what was happening, not that it wasn't the cause. But more importantly, if there was one thing other than fighting that S.S. was actually knowledgeable in, it was negativity, and this.... thing.... fit the bill. It didn't seem to like them, and it was making no attempt to hide this.

For these reasons, the glaceon felt that the entity before himself and his little group was, in fact, the cause of the chaos in the world. But either way, they were going to have to fight some all-powerful being from the sounds of it, so whether or not it was this specific one didn't really matter. Still, for now, he wasn't going to say anything just in case he was wrong.... which was very possible.
"You two are blind if you can't see he's already planning on telling us," he spoke, hoping to shut the other two up even if he was wrong.
He just couldn't shake the feeling that asking questions like this was going to provoke their new "friend," and while a fight with this dark, menacing creature seemed appealing to him, he wasn't going to push for this one.

"....And that your questions might provoke this thing," he continued, lowering his voice to a whisper.

The Solution Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Solution   The Solution EmptyTue Dec 29, 2015 9:26 pm

More questions were asked, and Darkrai ended up rolling his eyes in annoyance as it lifted itself from the chair and floating through the doorway slowly as it grew closer to the group. It crossed its arms, "Yes I DID plan on telling you. With how rude you're being in asking questions instead of continuing I almost feel as if I don't want to."

"But, since your little world seems to be crumbling I suppose you have every right to know what is going on," Darkrai spoke. It floated before them, before settling on the side of a chair that had been knocked over by the tremors from earlier.

"You see, long ago there was a time of freedom, a time where every pokemon could do as they pleased and nobody would care. The pokemon were ruled over by one lord and only one lord. This was not our current lord by the name of Arcues however, as he merely created this world for the previous to rule over. However, the previous ruler did something so horrible and wretched, that he sealed the dark one away. Ever since he had been thrashing at the barriers between the world, trying to break free and reclaim his kingdom that had been ripped away from him. Eventually, he had broken through, but the seal closed again in the process, splitting his power and splitting him between both worlds with only half of his power in each form. He wishes to reclaim his world, return things to as they were, and restore the freedom that he had blessed the pokemon with," Darkrai spoke.

He paused for a bit, "His name, as you know him now, is Giratina."

As Darkrai uttered the name, the world shook. It is unknown whether it had shook with fear, or excitement. A loud and rumbling cry echoed throughout the halls with its source being from the hole. It was a pained cry, a tortured one, one that held fury behind it as well-absolute fury. It was impossible to determine what it was from by any normal pokemon, however the Darkrai seemed to know.

"It seems the soldier is being called to attention. I'd like to thank you three for awakening me, this is a show a definitely would not want to miss..." with that the darkrai seemed to be disappearing into a dark mist once more, the mist swirling around it as it prepared to leave.

The Solution Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Solution   The Solution EmptyTue Dec 29, 2015 11:20 pm

"Oh. Sorry," Varda chirped, not seeming to be too worried that he had insulted the odd Pokémon that had now gotten up from its chair and was floating closer without even moving its legs! Well, it didn't really seem to have legs. Maybe. Though while the bird wasn't afraid… Of course he was looking a bit ashamed, not wanting to insult their new buddy that quickly! He certainly hadn't meant it, it wasn't his intention at all to be rude!

The Altaria stood where he had been standing, following the shadow's movements. Perhaps… He was forgiven, as the Pokémon seemed to understand why they were so keen on learning more – and they really didn't have any other clues except this one! Luckily, their single clue knew much, more than anyone else. Well, anyone else Varda knew, at least. Too bad he didn't really get much of it. He didn't know who this Giratina was, but he sure didn't sound very nice if he was willing to–

Another tremor shook the house, causing the bird to blink and hop a little, looking around him in a confused matter. Nothing was there, except… A sound. A long, odd sound, perhaps a cry or a wail or… Something. It caused Varda's feathers to stand on their ends, making the bird suddenly thrice his size in fluff.

He had been so taken by everything else that he forgot all about the shadowy Pokémon in the meantime! The words it spoke caught his attention once more, his head snapping in the direction to see how it started to disappear into a dark mist.
"Oh, oh, wait, one more thing!" The Altaria chirped, hoping that they still had just a little bit more time,
"If you know, could you… Tell us what to do now? Do we need the glue?"

The Solution Empty

Jak listened to what the darkrai had said. He seemed a bit agitated by the Pokémon’s response about him interrupting it. He didn’t do such a thing from what he knew. He wasn’t given a hint that it was going to continue to speak or anything. However, despite that… he continued to listen, continuing to watch the Pokémon’s movements.

When it came to the point of time when it mentioned the one’s responsible for the disaster that is unfolding. Girantina, Jak froze… it was a name that was spoken through myths and legends. One he didn’t expect to hear as if it was real. However, if it was all true… they had more problems to worry about.

Just as the Pokémon had mentioned the name, the whole place shook violently for a brief moment. Along with this came a roar that was indescribable. Jak quickly looked around, breaking eye contact with the dark type as he searched for where this sound came from. However, as the dark type began to speak again. Jak’s attention was drawn once more as it thanked them for awakening it. It mentioned that this was a show it didn’t want to miss.

Jak just stared at the Pokémon in disbelief when it said that. He quickly turned towards the other two in his group as the Pokémon started to disappear. As it did so, Varda seemed to call out asking about one more thing. The fluffy bird asked what they should do now and whether or not they needed glue. “Glue?! Ugh… Varda, we are gonna need something stronger than glue at this point.” Jak stated as he shook his head in disbelief. Does this bird seriously think we need glue to fix the situation… ughhh… Jak thought to himself. He was amazed by the birds reaction to the whole thing. Always so happy, friendly and lets be friends kind of attitude. It makes him wonder how this bird even survives in dungeons.
