| Varda cooed. He didn't really quite get it… It was just about going to a Pokémon and saying sorry, right? That itself wasn't very difficult. It might have seen difficult, but it wasn't bad – and he was sure Tropical would forgive Pterra, so the Aerodactyl didn't have to worry about that! But… This seemed to be important for Pterra, in some way. Very difficult. Too difficult. But because the Aerodactyl was a nice Pokémon, it wasn't impossible.
"Oh! How about," the bird chirped and turned to look at Pterra with a brand new idea twinkling in his eyes, surely a horrifying sight, "A written apology! You could spend a long time thinking about what you should write, and then I can deliver it! That way you can apologize without having to actually go there yourself!"

Pterra sighed. He wasn't going to get away without an apology to the dumb ol' plantosaur, was he? "Fine, fine... a written apology it is then," he groused in irritation. He cast around for something to write with, and came up empty-clawed.
"Well. If you have something to write with, and on, that is," he said with a gleam in his eyes. He might get out of this lame apology after all!

| Something to write with, something to write with… Varda seemed to think really hard about that question. He was glad that Pterra was willing to write an apology, but first he would need something to write with! And write on, but at least they had some back-up paper if they really couldn't find anything in the form of recipes – they'd just have to use the other side! But unfortunately… The bird didn't have anything.
"Mhh, nope!" He chirped awfully cheerfully, his thoughtful expression changing into a much happier one. Despite his answer, he still was able to smile. "But! We could look for something! This place looks like it's big and old, so there might be something interesting here," the Altaria nodded knowingly.

"yes, well, I suppose we could try searching for something to write with," he said, just to get the fluffy pokemon to stop annoying him. Maybe he could find another feral to take out his ire on. He took a look around the room they were in. "Well. It will be easy to get lost in a place like this," he commented thoughtfully. "We'll have to be careful. I don't fancy spending the night here." - Silver carried out 3 launched of one Sky Pyramid :

| Varda looked like the happiest Pokémon in the world when his friend agreed with his idea, causing him to nod repeatedly. They had a plan now! The bird looked like he couldn't get to the exploring already, awfully excited. He already started to waddle towards the first thing he thought looked interesting, but that was when the Aerodactyl warned him and mentioned how they should be careful so they didn't get lost. Looking back at Pterra and blinking in confusion, the Altaria with no sense of direction didn't see this place being any different from every other place. Like say, a completely straight hallway where it was impossible to get lost. If someone managed to still get lost somehow, it was probably Varda.
"Alright!" He still chirped happily as he hopped towards the walls of the room and started to follow them, keeping his beak low. There were all kinds of little cracks and such, which could be hiding interesting items… Maybe even some kind of a stick to write with!

Pterra rolled his eyes again and looked away from the altaria, in the opposite direction, scanning the room for anything that could be of use to them. Tearing his eyes away from Varda was a mistake, though. The altaria hopped off, and another altaria entered the room, making it impossible for Pterra to know from sight which one was which.
Thus, when he turned around and spotted two altaria, he did a double-take. How had the pokemon doubled itself? Was it a move of some sort of did his sort of pokemon live in these ruins?
"Errr... Varda?" He asked hesitantly, edging towards the one that had just entered the room. The pokemon gave him a wary glare, but didn't answer him. Instead it launched a beam of purple-and-blue energy at him.
"NOT VARDA!" Pterra screeched, exploding into the air with a few quick beats of his wings. He almost dodged the blow, but it glanced off his lower half, sending him down, down to the ground of the ruins. He groaned, shaking his head dizzily, as it had hit the ground rather hard. "V-varda...? Why are there two of you and why is one of you attacking me?" he groaned in confusion.

| Varda was exploring with great vigor and interest, keeping his eyes close to the ground as he made sure to explore every little nook and cranny! And! Every little crack in the wall! There were lots of those. Most of the crack were just on the surface of the stone, however, and didn't create any interesting hidey holes. But there were some! Of course, those tended to be filled with some stones and some dust, bust still! They were interesting!
The Altaria kept following his nose, assuming that Pterra would stick close – or perhaps he didn't even consider that. He was concentrating on other things right now, and when his eyes managed to see something interesting, he couldn't help himself. At first he thought that something white-ish in a hole was just another piece of the stone wall, but… It was much too smooth. He couldn't help but take a closer look!
...A gummi. He was sure of that. He would have given it a lick, but before he managed to do that, he ended up hearing a screech from behind him. Blinking, Varda turned around slowly to see the Aerodactyl on the floor, and… And an Altaria? This confused even the bird. "Oh, oh no!" He chirped, taking a few steps closer. Another Pokémon just like him. It couldn't be… "Did… Did I split into two? I didn't mean to! Don't attack, other me!"

The altaria that had entered the room chirped and looked at Varda in confusion, obviously not sure what to do when faced with a copy of itself. It ruffled its feathers and gave a little cry. Then it hopped forward, towards the dizzy aerodactyl, and pecked at Pterra's head.
Pterra groaned, still dizzy from being whacked hard on the head on the ground. He was incapacitated for the altaria -not Varda- to peck him on the head. He squawked angrily as the peck hit the sensitive part of his head. "Hey! Stop that, Varda!" He demanded, still confused from the hit to his head.

| Varda seemed to be just as confused as every other Pokémon in the room. An Altaria… Just like him. Indeed, to a simple bird, the chance that he had somehow been copied was a real option – and one he seemed as very likely, even! The last time he had seen an Altaria in his life was before he had even been one, himself. His mother… That seemed like such a long time ago, when the storm had separated him from his family.
But whatever this Altaria was, it was attacking Pterra! And that wasn't good! Even if this Pokémon was his copy, Varda wasn't going to let someone hurt his friend. "H-Hey! Don't do that!" He chirped, his voice less confused and more demanding. Spreading his wings and fluffing his feathers for protection, the bird ran over and positioned himself between the other Altaria and the Aerodactyl.

The other altaria seemed confused that Varda would get in the way of its prey. It chirped nonsensically at Varda, seeming to think that he should be on its side. It ruffled its wings and chirped some more, before trying to attack Pterra once more.
Pterra was prepared this time, though, and dodged the attack. He shook his head, shaking the dizziness away. "Hey Varda, get away from it before it decides to attack you too!" He said. "It's a feral. Its probably protecting its nest or something."

| Varda had no idea what the other bird was trying to say with its chirps, almost as if they spoke completely different languages… And well, they probably were! It seemed like feral Pokémon really were trying to say something sometimes, so it probably wasn't that they weren't able to talk at all. But that was a difficult subject and there were better things to think about, right now!
The feral Altaria tried to attack Pterra again, but the Aerodactyl got out of the way – and Varda was in the way anyway, so trying to attack his buddy wasn't going to be as easy this time! Was this one protecting a nest too, like Pterra wondered? Would it leave them alone if they just moved on? It was hard to say without trying it, but… Well, did anything stop them from trying? It was better than trying to solve this with a fight.
"Um, let's back away, then!" The Altaria chirped, but he didn't do as he suggested. Still staying closer to the other bird Pokémon, he had to make sure it wouldn't rush at the Aerodactyl again. "I'll… Stay in the middle! Once you have gotten far enough, I'll follow!"

Pterra nodded at Varda's words. "Alright, I'm leaving," he said, shooting a nasty look at the other altaria in the room. The feral chirped venomously, and shot a glare back at the aerodactyl.
Pterra flapped his wings and left the room, stopping and picking up the two gummis along the way. He recognized them as the candy they were, and knew they were good for pokemon, especially the sky-blue one was good for flying pokemon like him. The golden one could be given to a psychic type pokemon, or bartered at a shop maybe.
"Well, that was crazy," Pterra said. "We keep running into parents protecting eggs. I guess this is a popular nesting place?"

| Varda got serious, his eyes narrowing as he looked at what might have been his clone. A mirror image come to life. He couldn't remember walking past any mirrors, but he wasn't going to ignore that as a potential cause! Keeping his gaze on the other Altaria, he made sure to stay in the way so it couldn't dash after Pterra – or if it tried, he sure would be there to stop it!
Luckily the Aerodactyl got away, picking up speed with his wings and disappearing somewhere. Varda had his back turned on his friend, so all he had was the sounds of the flaps of his wings that grew more and more distant. Once the sounds grew so quiet he couldn't even hear them anymore, the bird started planning on his escape.
"Um," the Altaria started with a confused tone, his serious expression disappearing like water off a duck's back. With a blink and a short glance to the left and right, the bird just bowed slightly. "Sorry that we were a bother, we didn't mean it, gotta go!" He chirped quickly at the Pokémon who probably couldn't understand one word – and certainly looked confused – as his legs ran in place while he built up some speed and quickly dashed after Pterra.
The wind created by how fast he was going ruffled his feathers and invited him to take flight, so the Altaria spread his wings and let himself soar into the air and fly through the strange temple-like structure's hallways. Luckily for him, this section didn't appear to have many twists and turns where he might have lost his friend, and soon he saw the Aerodactyl again.
"Oh, I don't know, maybe!" Varda chirped through his pants, his wings slowing down as the quick speed burst's effects exhausted him. A nesting place for birds… He supposed a place like this wouldn't be bad, if there weren't so many feral Pokémon being a potential danger to eggs! Unless… They wouldn't attack eggs? "I… I haven't seen an Altaria since…"

The aerodactyl cocked his head to the side curiously when Varda stopped mid-sentence, leaving the fragment hanging in the air. "Since...?" Pterra coaxed the bird. "Since... when? When you last saw your family?" He guessed on a whim. It would make sense. "Did you lose them or what?" He asked curiously.

| Thoughts in Varda's head had stopped his tongue, his expression distant as his eyes stared forward. The Aerodactyl's voice quickly snapped him out of it, and the bird looked at his friend with a smile. Seemed like Pterra was curious, but it was only natural! He was the one who left someone hanging, after all. It became apparent that this Aerodactyl could become a private detective or something, with his deduction skills! ...Or that was what Varda thought, at least.
"Wow, how did you know!" The Altaria chirped and cooed in his amazement. Well, it wasn't entirely right, but it was pretty much spot on! "...Hm, well, maybe it was more like my family lost me… But I'm looking for a way to get back home!"
