Pterra
Energy: 31 - 25 (entrance) = 6
Items in Use: Joy Ribbon

Pterra flapped his way into the island high above the clouds. The island radiated light and some sort of power; and not a lot of pokemon knew anything at all about the so-called 'Sky Pyramid,' mostly because only flying pokemon could go there. And of the flying pokemon that lived in the Floating Islands, not many were brave or strong enough to adventure into the powerful unknown that was the island.

So Pterra was wandering into mostly unexplored places. But this did not bother the cackling outlaw at all. As far as he was concerned, it was the best place to lose any pursuers. Though he doubted that the coward Tropical would dare follow him here. After all, the Tropius was a well-known pacifist and thus easy to take advantage of. That was why Pterra had targeted him, after all. The best victims to outlaws like Pterra were the pokemon who were unable or unwilling to fight back.

Ptricking the Pterrible Pterra Empty
PostSubject: Re: Ptricking the Pterrible Pterra   Ptricking the Pterrible Pterra EmptyMon Oct 05, 2015 6:23 pm

Varda's wings were already aching, having to fly such a long distance and so fast so he could keep up with the Pokémon he was chasing! He wasn't built for speed, but Pterra...! He sure could fly! The Altaria's breath was visible as he panted loudly, the huffs and puffs cooled by the cold air. It was colder than he had expected, his feathers ruffling up slightly. However, there was another issue. He could see the island floating in the sky, the direction where the Aerodactyl had flown... But by now, he had managed to lose sight of the Pokémon.

He couldn't fly much further, his muscles screaming in agony, the flaps of his wings forced to slow down. Fighting his need to rest, the bird forced himself to at least get something under his feet so he could rest safely. It was all he could do, a relieved gasp escaping his beak as his wings stopped their motion and Varda plopped down on the floating island, his talons digging into the ground weakly while his head hung low. His chest rose and fell in rapid succession as he tried to catch his breath.

He had never been to this place. He was quite sure he would have remembered, his eyes finally rising from the ground and taking a look around. A pyramid in the sky... Oh, he couldn't worry about that now! He had to find the Aerodactyl – who hopefully had decided to stop where he had! The Altaria took in a deep breath before he started to move forward with long strides, his feathers still ruffled as he tried to keep the cool wind from digging into his skin. That did remind him of something! Digging into his bag, the bird produced a ruffled collar he had gotten, having the ability to protect against the cold or something like that. He quickly slipped his neck through it, the white ruffles hidden underneath his white chest fluff.
"Hello? Is anyone here?

Pterra
Energy: 6
Items in Use: Joy Ribbon
Inventory:
-Aerodactylite (2 charges)
-Oran Berry (4)
-Grey Gummi (2)
-Reviver Seed (2)

Pterra continued into the tower for a while, taking twists and turns through the winding, spiraling corridors, determined to lose any pursuers. He was going to pull off this heist right in front of a guild member! He couldn't afford to lose such a feat by being careless and assuming he was in the clear just because he was inside a dungeon.

After all, guild members consistently explored dangerous places such as these. It was in their job description, after all. As the determined Aerodactyl flapped through the corridors, his wings began to get heavier. After a time, he decided to take a short break. Certainly he had gone far enough for a small breather?

Unbeknownst to the Aerodactyl, a pokemon had indeed followed him, none other than Varda the Altaria, once known as Varda the Swablu, whom he had met previously, though the conceited, arrogant outlaw wouldn't remember it. The Altaria was currently calling through the corridors, unknowingly attracting the attention of some of the more unsavory inhabitants of the Sky Pyramid.

Ptricking the Pterrible Pterra Empty
PostSubject: Re: Ptricking the Pterrible Pterra   Ptricking the Pterrible Pterra EmptyMon Nov 09, 2015 2:11 pm

Varda was breathing heavily, little by little managing to relax a bit, feel like he wasn't out of breath. His wings still ached, most likely they would for a while, but he didn't have to fly for now. Hopefully. The bird kept walking with relaxed steps, his neck craning as he tried to catch a glimpse of something, or hear something. He had called out, but no one replied. Not Pterra, and... Not anyone else either, if someone happened to be in this odd structure in the sky. The only thing Varda really could do was to start heading in deeper, in case he just hadn't been heard! After all... He was sure that Pterra would reply if he heard!

The broken stone tiles underneath his feet were cold, occasionally shifting under his weight. The air felt crisp, but the dark clouds covering the sky made everything feel a bit more dreary. Some light managed to get into the odd building through the cracks in the wall, but what with how dim it was outside, it didn't really make the insides look nice and bright. Hopefully there would be another light source further in...

A sound of something – like say, a tiny pebble – falling on a rocky surface caused the Altaria to blink and look in the direction, seeing... Nothing. Whatever had caused that sound was gone by now. Perhaps something just fell from the walls or the ceiling? The bird tilted his head in confusion.
"Um... Hello? Are you a Pokémon?" He inquired carefully.

Pterra chuckled to himself, secure in the thought that he had gotten away with his crime, in front of a guild member, even! This would raise his street-cred by quite a lot, he was sure. Now it was time to see what he got from the fat plant pokemon.

He set down the chest and began to rifle through it. He snorted and tossed his head, as well as several large piles of parchment out of the chest -they were Tropical's Poffin Recipe cards, passed down in his family. They were very precious to the tropius, but useless to the Aerial Outlaw.

There were several pouches of poke that the aerodactyl snatched up gleefully, and a strange pouch. He looked inside and saw a Mysterious Stone in it. He frowned and tucked it into his bag, shrugging. He'd show it to one of his contacts and see if maybe it was valuable, and then left the chest and the papers scattered about the room carelessly.

Ptricking the Pterrible Pterra Empty
PostSubject: Re: Ptricking the Pterrible Pterra   Ptricking the Pterrible Pterra EmptyWed Nov 25, 2015 3:41 am

Varda stayed silent and listened very carefully, searching for a reply. But… Nothing. No one replied, not Pterra, not… Someone else. Was he all alone in this place? Well, it was probably better to be alone than ambushed by a group of feral Pokémon, but… He really did have to find the Aerodactyl! There was no way he could go back to Tropical without getting back the chest that was taken, the poor Pokémon just seemed to be so down after it had happened! The bird's eyes filled with determination as he puffed out his chest slightly and kept going, his talons clicking on the stone tiles.

He kept his senses ready to find what he was looking for, as well. Any little movements in the shadows, any little sound… Whatever he would find out, he would investigate. And actually, he could swear he was hearing some kind of sound from up ahead! It was hard to say what it was exactly, the sound faint enough and rather unfamiliar to the bird's ears, but he picked up his pace to see if he could maybe catch whoever it was!

The Altaria's foot managed to kick something soft and light, sending it rolling away from him as he stopped. The quiet sound of parchment was almost deafening in the silence, causing the bird to take a moment to realize what had actually happened. It was a roll of paper. Varda didn't waste time before he hopped over to it and spread it open with his toes, reading a few lines of some kind of, uh, ingredients or something he didn't really understand. If it wasn't for a familiar name he managed to spot in the midst of the words, he might have thought that it was unrelated!

Tropical. That's what it said, and that was bis friend's name! While a scroll wasn't exactly the same thing as a chest, he took it with him so he could bring it to the owner later, stuffing it in his bag gently. The chest and Pterra… Had to be close! The Altaria was already ready to move, but then another sound from behind him caused him to stop. It was some kind of a woosh, but again… There was nothing. Was it just the wind?

Ptricking the Pterrible Pterra Empty
PostSubject: Re: Ptricking the Pterrible Pterra   Ptricking the Pterrible Pterra EmptyWed Nov 25, 2015 5:11 am

Pterra
Energy: 6 - 10 (roll) = 0 + 32 (Reviver Seed) = 32
Items in Use: Joy Ribbon
Inventory:
-Aerodactylite (2 charges)
-Oran Berry (4)
-Grey Gummi (2)
-Reviver Seed (1)
-Heavy Box

Pterra was still in the Sky Pyramid. After leaving the room with the abandoned chest and useless papers, the aerodactyl had decided to stick around the dungeon for a while. He figured staying here would do two things for him: help avoid any pursuit that may still be searching for him, as well as the much-needed practice of dungeon-crawling.

The aerodactyl didn't do much exploring or sparring; preferring to heckle his prey from afar and use his species' fierce reputation do most of the work for him. Why bother learning to actually fight when it was well-known that aerodactyl were fierce, cruel fighters and most pokemon just cowered in fear to him rather than dare fight him? This fact led to Pterra being rather lazy when it came to his own training, and as a result, he wasn't a very good fighter.

He'd regretted it several times now, and he'd recently resolved to get stronger so that he had the muscle to back up his bluff -or rather turn his bluffs into promises.

Thus, the aerodactyl had opted to stay in the Sky Pyramid for a little training. He was currently in search of any feral pokemon he could test his mettle against. He hadn't found one yet, but when he did, he was ready with his arsenal of powerful moves!

...That mainly consisted of biting a pokemon until they collapsed. True, they were bites filled with elemental energies, but the fact still remained that nearly all of his techniques had to do with biting an enemy until they gave up. They still did the job, though, and that's all that mattered to Pterra.

Pterra was shaken out of his thoughts as an eerie cry echoed through the pyramid, causing the aerodactyl to glance around the room warily. He soon spotted the source of the cry: a duskull had emerged from one of the walls, and was glaring at him with its single red eye.

Pterra let out a challenging cry of his own -unknowingly alerting his pursuer of his location- and dove at the duskull with his huge maw open wide. A barrage of bluish-purple flames spewed forth from his mouth, engulfing the duskull with draconic heat.

Ptricking the Pterrible Pterra Empty
PostSubject: Re: Ptricking the Pterrible Pterra   Ptricking the Pterrible Pterra EmptyWed Nov 25, 2015 12:32 pm

Varda continued following the corridor, not having any other place to go to – unless he wanted to leave. And he didn't. He still had an Aerodactyl to find! And the chest. When he took a turn however, he realized where the earlier roll of paper had come from. On the floor right in front of him were various piles of paper that had been thrown around haphazardly, others having managed to make it a little further away while a lot of them were right around… A chest!

The Altaria's mood only got better as he waddled over to the familiar chest, or… At least he was sure this one was the one he was looking for. He hadn't managed to take such a good look that he would be able to tell the chest from a similar-looking one, but the insides seemed like they belonged to Tropical. The bird wasted no time quickly gathering up the papers and putting them in the chest for safekeeping, but… The chest had been opened. Was something missing? He had even less of an idea about what was supposed to be inside it…

A cry echoed through the empty halls, causing Varda to quickly look up and see what was happening. He couldn't see anything, and it didn't seem like anything was coming for him, either… But something was clearly happening in another part of the strange floating structure in the sky! The blue bird Pokémon quickly grabbed the chest with his talons, trying to leave the spot quickly, but, well… It took him a moment to adjust the thing so he actually had a proper grip before he could force himself off the ground!

With a few swift beats, the Altaria took off and started to fly towards the sound in case there was an innocent Pokémon in trouble. Flying with some extra weight wasn't the easiest thing, but luckily there was enough room for his wings, at least! A purplish light flashed from one of the corridors, causing Varda to make a sharp turn and head in the direction, seeing…
"Pterra!" The bird chriped.

Surprisingly for the aerodactyl, the duskull shrugged off the attack like it was nothing, readily and quickly sending a return volley of several wispy, glowing purple balls of energy. They struck Pterra on his side, sending him to the floor of the room, a cry of pain echoing around the pyramid.

Pterra growled weakly at the duskull. The attack had taken a lot out of him -how badly was he outmatched? One measly attack had been enough to bring him out of the sky, while his strongest attack was shrugged off like it was nothing!

He forced himself back into the air painfully and dove at the duskull, his maw agape once more, this time his teeth crackling with electric energy. He sunk his fangs deep into the insubstantial ghost's body, only for the duskull to launch more powerful balls of energy right into his mouth.

He fell back, smoking from his mouth. Pterra collapsed on the floor of the pyramid, barely hearing his name called out from a familiar voice as his world turned into the black of unconsciousness.

Ptricking the Pterrible Pterra Empty
PostSubject: Re: Ptricking the Pterrible Pterra   Ptricking the Pterrible Pterra EmptySun Nov 29, 2015 10:37 am

Varda gasped. In just mere moments, right in front of his eyes… His friend had been attacked by the ghost that hadn't seemed to be bothered by the Aerodactyl's attack at all! Pterra's size and looks were rather deceiving, looking like an extremely strong and fierce Pokémon… And of course the bird believed that to be true. Clearly, this ghost had to be some kind of super ghost Pokémon that was extremely tough and dangerous!

As his friend collapsed, the Altaria gathered his courage and swooped closer, landing in between the Aerodactyl and the ghost so he could protect someone who was down. He had no idea if he could do that. After all, he was no fighter… But he didn't have a choice! With determination sparkling in his eyes, Varda kept his wings open as he tried to appear a little bigger, his beak opening as he felt a familiar burn inside him, a light starting to glow from his throat…

And in a split second, a beam of multicolored light erupted from him, a warning Dragon Pulse that shot through the target in front of him.

The duskull fell back at the altaria's sudden, unexpected attack. Though it hadn't shown any signs of fatigue from the aerodactyl's attacks, it had been sustaining injuries that it had hidden. The much stronger dragon pulse from the more powerful altaria was enough to send the duskull floating away as fast as it could, its cloak whipping out behind it like a tail.

Meanwhile, Pterra's bag began to glow, and a seed rose out of the bag, sending out beams of light that surrounded the fallen aerodactyl's form. Pterra opened his eyes to see a flash of white, and then felt his energy returning to him as the seed fell to the ground, no longer glowing, its color turning from white to a pale yellow; its power was gone.

Ptricking the Pterrible Pterra Empty
PostSubject: Re: Ptricking the Pterrible Pterra   Ptricking the Pterrible Pterra EmptyWed Dec 02, 2015 2:57 am

Varda stood his ground, not leaving his spot in front of the fallen Pokémon no matter what! He was ready for an attack, he would guard Pterra with his body if he had to… But he didn't. The ghost had just decided to leave instead, turning around and floating away as fast as a ghost could float away, probably! The bird blinked, confused. He… Hadn't expected that, to be honest. The Pokémon had seemed very tough, but maybe he had seem tougher in its eyes? He was pretty big when he wanted to look big, his feathers fluffing themselves up in response. While an Altaria probably never did look as scary as an Aerodactyl, it was something Varda didn't really consider.

A glowing light from behind caused the bird to glance over his shoulder, his eyes growing wider when he realized that his friend was getting up! He was all right after all! With a smile, Varda turned around, tilting his head as he took a few steps around the Aerodactyl, inspecting his friend's body. Pterra seemed to be fine now! But it would always be good to ask, just in case.
"Are you alright?"

Pterra glared half-heartedly at the altaria. He was angry that he'd had to be saved, especially by this little punk from the guild. "I'm fine," he snapped shortly, flapping his wings in irritation.

"I would have been fine; my reviver seed would have let me get back up and defeat that little punk of a duskull," he spat out, glaring after the retreating ghost.

Then he noticed the chest clutched underneath the altaria. "You've got the stupid chest back; what more do you want from me?" he asked deceptively, not mentioning that he had taken stuff out of the chest. He figured that the guild member wouldn't notice until he brought it back to the dumb tropius, and by then it would be too late to catch up to the aerodactyl.

Ptricking the Pterrible Pterra Empty
PostSubject: Re: Ptricking the Pterrible Pterra   Ptricking the Pterrible Pterra EmptyThu Dec 03, 2015 3:25 am

Varda seemed to be relieved when the Aerodactyl claimed to be fine, missing the irritated tone and of course not having any reason to doubt his friend's words. If Pterra said he was fine, he was fine – unless he looked visibly hurt, which he didn't do. The bird cooed when the Aerodactyl claimed that he would have been fine in any case, having a seed just for these moments.
"Oh, okay," he just chirped, nodding as if nothing was wrong. No harm done either way though, right?

Mentioning the chest caused the Altaria to remember that subject, glancing down before looking back up at Pterra. Oh, right, he already got the thing he came here to fetch, but…
"Well… It was open and items had spilled over. Maybe you accidentally dropped it and it opened, or maybe some Pokémon here went through it, maybe even taking something," Varda mused, still not entirely sure if everything that should have been in the chest actually was there. He should have asked Tropical before he left. But! There was something else, too.

"And, um, Pterra! You shouldn't take things from others like that. Tropical was very sad, and it's bad when others are sad. You can ask to have things, but it's up to the owner if they give it to you..."

Pterra gave a scoff at the altaria's protests. "Are you kidding me?" he asked the altaria. "You can't honestly be that innocent, to not realize that I'm an outlaw by now? Seriously, where is the guild getting a pokemon like you in their ranks?"

He shook his head. "Guess their expectations are getting lower. Better for us outlaws, I suppose," he shrugged.

"But get this through your head... I'm an outlaw. I do "bad" things, just for the fun of seeing other pokemon cry about it," he said, glaring at the altaria. "You're lucky I'm gonna be nice and let you take the chest back to the whiny grass pokemon. So go on, get out of here."
