PostSubject: The Task at Hand   The Task at Hand EmptySat Sep 12, 2015 2:03 am

Miss T: {24 - 10 (entry) = 12}

The Misdreavus stared down at the map that was levitating before her as she glided effortlessly up to the entrance of the forest.
That wasn't so hard to locate, she remarked silently, folding up the map and returning it to her storage unit. The place seemed just as how many a book would describe: dark and gloomy, even during the daytime. Fortunately, the full feeling and vibe of the forest was upon the ghost type since she arrived at night, the bright flecks of stars covering the sky. But soon Gina would plunge into a shadowy realm, shielded but almost all light, not even the sun visible in the day or stars visible at night unless she were to find a clearing.

Already, Treavus liked the place very much, as it seemed suitable for a cliche ghost type like herself. Hopefully she wouldn't run into too many Pokemon, either, since it might stray her from the real reason she was here. The task at hand was to retrieve two edible items from this forest and bring them to Russel along with a report. What that report would be composed of, Miss T was uncertain, but she was sure everything would come together when the time was right. Now was the hardest part: finding such objects before running out of energy and fainting.

Kelina
Energy: 16 - 10 (entrance) = 6
Items in Use: N/A

Kelina fluttered her wings quickly to keep herself aloft in the air as she traveled through Shadowhue Forest. After her strange encounter with Russell -a tiny Burmy with big aspirations- in which she'd tried to eat the bagworm pokemon and he'd defended himself, Kelina had decided to give his little organization a try. She still couldn't help but think of the bagworm pokemon as food, but really, what else was she going to do with her life now that her dreams of the guild were shattered?

Kelina lit down on a branch of one of the trees, unknowingly just above the misdreavus a little ways below her. She hummed thoughtfully, looking around with her sharp eyes, knowing that she would have to give a full report of her findings at the end of her expedition.

Miss T: {12}

Gazing wondrously at the curious colors of the dark forest's leaves, the Misdreavus's attention was suddenly adverted as humming was heard from above. She glanced up to see a Spearow flitting noisily above her. She rolled her eyes in response and continued onward. Didn't the bird know it was disrupting  both the peace and the ghost-type's focus?

Ignoring the Pokemon, much like she promised herself to do in every instance, Miss T went back to studying leaves. Though, less intently. That's not why she was here, after all. The mission's description said to retrieve "two edible items" and write a report on them. The idea of writing such a report seemed ludicrous to say the least; it seemed like an essay a small school might assign, as it definitely had the feel of an assignment. But still, Gina enjoyed these kinds of things, like studying in her free time and writing essays. Plus, it all helped her out in the end, since botany related to fruits or seeds that grow off of plants, she would know how to find such things.

Observing the trees and bushes at a closer scale, it seemed she would be out of luck today. The nodes on every branch were closed tightly and undeveloped. No such fruit, seed, or even flower could sprout off of them for another two seasons at the least, and Miss T knew nothing about this forest's flowering patterns, either. If she could get lucky and find some unplanted seeds or fruits from a past year's breeding, only then could she pass this challenge. This would be harder than she thought.

Kelina fluttered her wings noisily, unknowingly disturbing the misdreavus beneath her as she glanced around at the forest. Beyond having to submit a report on what she witnessed and found; she was supposed to find three non-food items in the forest.

That could mean just about anything, Kelina supposed. Technically, rocks and trees could be considered non-food items. But somehow, she didn't think that was what Russell had meant by 'non-food items.'

She did know that sometimes in mystery dungeons, items like Technical Machines and mysterious, unopenable boxes appeared. Perhaps Russell meant for her to find some of those things and report back as to where and how she found them? She bobbed her head, deciding that that was likely what he had meant.

Miss T: {12}

Miss Treavus felt overwhelmed by absolutely nothing. Perhaps it was a migraine that may have been affecting the Misdreavus's train of thought, but the whole thing came to a crash. The only thing to blame that occurrence on was the only sound that could be heard; that of which was coming from the bird. Miss T fumed silently, furious at the small being. At the same time, she didn't want to rage, because the Spearow had no awareness. The only thing Genevieve could do was block it out and hope it to go away.

The ghost slipped into a tree and grumbled, eyes squinted shut and mind exhausted. Such a migraine must have come from the thought of how difficult it would be to complete this task. She just had to find a solution, but it was currently impossible to mediate. The booming beat of the flapping wings echoed in her mind, even after the sound had long passed, and made it impossible to focus on anything. This made everything further frustrating, especially when trying not to blow a fuse. Perhaps the forest was calling to her... making her become the feral Pokemon everyone had inside.

The spearow finally decided that sitting on a branch wasn't doing anything to help out her mission. She beat her wings quickly, rising from the branch and flitting towards another tree, where she landed on another branch, this time closer to the ground.

Her neck twisted as she peered around at the dark forest, her sharp eyes scanning the forest floor and the trees around her for any items that fit Russ' description. She just barely missed the misdreavus below slipping into a tree, and Kelina's eyes slid right past the tree without a blink.

Miss T:{12}

Shaking her head at herself, Miss T allowed the fury to flow out of her, feeling now careless and having no emotions. She emerged from the tree with a blank stare and glanced around, finally deciding to turn around and go deeper into the forest. It was important that she maintain her focus, otherwise it would be far harder to get this challenge complete. Why was it called a challenge instead of a mission, anyway? It was an assignment required for entering; challenges usually implied that it was a choice whether or not to do it, but this wasn't really so.

A challenge would imply that something was difficult, and this was only for outside variables. Edible could mean anything from seeds to berries, so this couldn't possibly be difficult. The ghost's constant overthinking about this was giving her yet another headache, so she decided to stop. Don't think, just do. This isn't a riddle, Genevieve...

Kelina
Energy: 6 - 7 (roll) = 0 + 10 (oran berry) = 10
Items in Use: N/A

After finishing her perusal of the forest, Kelina fluttered her wings again restlessly before rising into the air once more, and darting to land on the forest floor, peering under tree roots and beneath bushes for any items left behind by previous visitors to the forest.

She found an oran berry attached to a bush and pecked at it, causing the berry to fall to the ground. Kelina steadied it with one foot as she pecked at the berry, snapping it up in a few short pecks, feeling the energy from the blue-colored berry restore her stamina and health.

After finishing the berry, Kelina returned to her search of the forest, letting out an impatient twitter as she did so. She was never the most patient of pokemon, and she wanted to find some items and finish up her report so that she could join this organization! ...If only so that she could hang around that yummy bagworm pokemon some more.

PostSubject: Re: The Task at Hand   The Task at Hand EmptyTue Oct 06, 2015 12:37 am

Miss T: {12}

Glad to know she was much more at peace, the Misdreavus' painful aching stopped altogether, hovering with no tenseness whatsoever. While her mind may have been at peace just moments before, her body had not been, and was experiencing the aftermath of extreme stress. That had alleviated fully in just under a minute of having calmed herself, which was rather impressive to say the least. Usually she suffered extreme exhaustion and inability to think for much longer.

The wispy trailing flows of "hair" streamed behind the ghost type in a wave-like motion, in correlation to both the outside environment and movement. The state of mind perhaps affected this too, as they were no longer tightened in a bunch with pain. Her mind was focused on one thing now, and that was anything that stood out from the navy colors of the shady environment, anything bright that naturally deterred itself from the deep greens and dull grays of the trees and ground. Perhaps the Pokemon living here would blend in with the darkness, but that was scarcely a minor concern to Miss T. The majority of the population would be either ghost types or normal types, one of which wouldn't do much to her and the other she was positive she could convince to be friendly or neutral by avoiding inflicting damage on anyone. Her eyes, flitting left and right, searched for anything that stood out.

Kelina darted towards another crop of roots around a large tree, poking her beak through the undergrowth in search of anything that might fit Russel's description. Her beak hit upon something hard and strange after a few minutes.

"Aha!" She exclaimed aloud, digging through the roots with one foot -her sharp talons tearing through the plant life with ease. She soon uncovered a strange red box. It was small enough to fit inside the pouch that she was carrying specifically for the mission.

She pried the box out of its hole with a combination of her beak and talons, falling over a couple times as she lost balance on her one foot. She finally emerged from the task triumphant but covered in soil and pebbles.

She stowed away the box and promptly began to preen herself, hating the feel of the dirt on her fine feathers.

PostSubject: Re: The Task at Hand   The Task at Hand EmptySat Oct 24, 2015 12:21 am

Miss T: {0} + Poisoned

Miss Treavus drifted, her eyes drawn to the sky for whatever reason. It were distractions like these that annoyed the ghost so greatly, especially in an instance like this where she simply cannot tear her eyes away. Not to any surprise, a Spearow flew around up there, diving to the ground. The transversal interception, fortunately, was able to break the Misdreavus from her trance so she could continue what she was doing. Unfortunately, staring at the sky while moving had brought her right before a gang of ravenous Pokemon.

A Heracross was protected by two Ariados who were beginning to advance on the ghost. It was fairly clear that they weren't going to back down, potentially planning to mug her of... what, maybe the pair of sticks and Lum Berry she owned? That didn't matter at all to her, they could take everything she had. Until, she realized, her valuable was in her bag: the mysterious stone. Miss T was still searching for an updated geology handbook so she could identify what it was, but hadn't found a library that contained such a thing yet. (She also has no idea that Russel has a library that probably contains such a thing.) As an instinctive decision, she held her precious stone down with one traceless beam of her psychic light, and the other glow began to lift her sticks in preparation of action, all whilst she was backing away from the enemies.

With an act of surprise without hesitation, the Ariados to the left leapt towards her, but her reaction was fast enough to convulsively fling one of the twigs at its eye, the other hurled to the other Ariados lurking in preparation to hit a follow-up attack; working in a brewery did Miss T good for her reflexes, having to catch falling potions seen only from the corner of her eye while making another brew at once. The first Ariados backed up, toppling and clumsy from being blinded by the woody weapon, legs dancing to keep it balanced after flinging itself backwards so quickly. The other spontaneously unleashed a Poison Sting, its reflexive reaction to the attack that just occurred to it. The Poison Sting struck Miss T, weakening her so that she was unable to hold her bag, uncontrollably dropping it while sinking lower to the ground, vision blurred from the shock of the poison that hit her so suddenly. The Mysterious Stone, pulled by the gravitational force, rolled out of her bag, and with a shimmer caught the eye of the Heracross, who grinned a villainous smirk in victory at this discovery.

"Finally," he croaked, his voice a hissing and chittering after-effect like a cicada. "So long I've been searching... But the Mega Stone is finally mine..."
He stomped over in such a manner that was overbearingly intimidating to the now-grounded Misdreavus, the effects of the poison altering reality and making her feel like a pebble in a sea of stones, the insect towering over her, a deformed and beastly figure.
"A mere touch... And the stone will react, giving me the power above any other! I've waited so long!" he screeched in horrible excitement, the Ariados now recovered from being struck with the sticks also chattering with joy. Miss T could do nothing.

Kelina
Energy: 10
Items in Use: N/A

After a few moments of preening her feathers, Kelina's head shot up as the sound of something caught her attention. It had been muffled, for sure, but it had sort-of sounded like a pokemon in pain! She thrust her wings downward hurriedly, leaping into the sky, circling around the area to spot whatever it was that had made the sound.

She soon came upon the source of the sound: a trio of pokemon were surrounding a smaller, bluish-purple pokemon! The trio of pokemon did not look friendly: the large heracross and two larger ariados seemed to be taunting the smaller pokemon, that, upon further focus on Kelina's part, she identified as a misdreavus.

She circled lower, and caught the last part of the heracross' speech, and noticed its movements toward the stone that seemed to be the ghost type's. Kelina trilled angrily and dove into the fray, snatching the stone away from the bug just before its claws snapped down on it.

"Hey! Didn't your mother ever teach you that stealing was wrong?!" Kelina burst out furiously, rising high above the scene, to avoid any attack by the ariados, though she knew that the heracross could fly as well.

The Task at Hand Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Task at Hand   The Task at Hand EmptyWed Nov 25, 2015 8:52 pm

Miss T: {0} + poisoned

The Misdreavus opened her eyes weakly, her blurry vision barely capturing the Heracross stooping down to swipe the Mysterious Stone. This was it; it was all over as soon as he touched that stone. Miss T couldn't really say why, but she just knew that was the case. Already, her memories and consciousness were slipping away, so it was difficult to grasp really anything.

Suddenly, just before her eyes began to close, the ghost saw something swoop in at the nick of time to save her precious artifact. In her last desperation to see what hero had preserved her studies for so much longer, the ghost strained to see who had prevented the stone from being ruined, but was sucked into a weak state where she could not move, see, sense, or even think properly. Might this be how death feels? Such utter weakness, and then finally nothing? The Misdreavus's longevity would allow her to surpass many other species as of existence, because of which that everything down in this little world feels so rushed. No, perhaps she was not dead, but she did not know when she would next see the world again.

But... she had to hold all with all her effort! The fainted and poisoned Pokemon's glazed-over eyes opened again, her mouth in a great toil to make apparent of what it was she needed.
"M-my bag... The berry..." She muttered, forgetting that the Ariados and Heracross were still present. If she could only break free from this poisoning, it would be far easier to comprehend what was going on...

The heracross sneered up at the spearow. "Well, well, well. Looky what we've got here; a little birdy, who thinks she can just interfere in any ol' matter she wants?" The large bug pokemon buzzed his wings and quickly rose into the air, glaring menacingly at Kelina. "I'll teach you to stick your beak where it don't belong!" it hissed furiously, and flitted towards the spearow.

Kelina dodged to one side, letting the heracross wheel across the sky in his attempt to correct his direction. She fluttered her wings quickly, her smaller and more stream-lined body allowing her to avoid the heracross' clumsy attempts to catch her.

Meanwhile, a pair of small, fearful eyes poked out of a bush not far from the fallen misdreavus. The two ariados henchmen of the heracross were watching the aerial battle, their guards completely down due to their "prisoner" being fainted and poisoned.

The eyes moved, and a small flabebe emerged from behind the bushes, and hurried over to the misdreavus' side, just in time to hear her muttered comments. The flabebe brightened, and began to rummage through the bag, emerging with a green berry after a few moments. She brought it over to the misdreavus, nudging it towards the button-like things on the pokemon's head, that seemed to be the pokemon's mouth.

The Task at Hand Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Task at Hand   The Task at Hand EmptySat Nov 28, 2015 11:34 pm

Miss T: {0}

The next thing the Misdreavus was aware of was a round object popping in between her lips, absorbed into her system and curing her poisoning. The extremity of the weariness soon died down and the ghost was able to perceive once more. To her surprise, a Flabébé was before her, clearly the Pokemon who had cured the ghost of her inability to move.
"Thank you," she whispered hoarsely, soon turning to look at what was occurring up in the air; a battle, or rather agility contest, between Heracross and the Spearow from before. To her relief, the bird was still holding onto the Mysterious Stone, which is what made it a target for the Heracross.

Intent on helping the Spearow, Miss T tried to hover up by their side, but she was unable to. She had forgotten that she fainted not too long ago by the pesky Ariados. Suddenly recalling, Gina whipped around to see that the two bug-poison types were slacking off, cheering on their leader. Looking back to the Flabébé, Genevieve nodded to the poison types with a concerned face. One Sludge Bomb from the likes of them, and the little Fairy-type Pokemon would most likely be knocked out, even possible by a simple Poison Sting like the one that had taken down the ghost.

"You get back here, you little pest, so I can show you real strength!" The Heracross screeched, infuriated. "If you keep this up, you'll leave me no choice but to destroy you," he hissed the threat at which Miss T rolled her eyes at. Clearly if he couldn't do anything now, he couldn't do anything with any more will. Except, perhaps, call on the guards, but the goons seemed to be lazily enjoying the sight too much to obey to any command at the moment.
