An empty bag and the desire to explore Empty
PostSubject: An empty bag and the desire to explore   An empty bag and the desire to explore EmptySun Oct 25, 2015 2:29 am

When Xander had first stepped into the dark dungeon, he could barely see anything, which left him vulnerable to feral pokemon. He walked slowly and carefully through the darkness until his eyes finally adjusted to it. Even though he could see, he still wanted a little bit of extra light, just in case. He found a stick, lit it on fire using his ember attack, and then picked it up in his jaws. It was a little... awkward... to carry, but he soon got used to it. Well, I'm here now. I should probably start looking for supplies. He looked in his bag and... it was completely empty. A little worried by his bag's emptiness, he picked up his pace. The main things he really needed in order to survive in dungeons were oran berries and apples. Reviver seeds would probably be helpful, too... Keeping an eye out for these items and feral pokemon, the Houndour continued walking at a brisk pace.

An empty bag and the desire to explore Empty

Energy: 22 - 10 (entrance fee) = 12

Raze had just entered the dark, depressing forest and already had to use electricity to see. The golden streaks of light that spotted the floor were making his field of vision limited. Argh, I doubt there's anything here. Probably just a moody forest, nothing here. he doubted himself. From the accounts of several Pokémon in Grassveil, there were quite a few sightings of Defense Scarves. If I don't find one, I can probably go buy one at Dandy's... Huh. Wait, why am I walking all the way out here?! I could be using my Poke for something better than a Defense Scarf! he thought.

The Minun turned around to go back into Grassveil, but only saw darkness again. ...Dammit. Lost again. he cursed himself, Meh. I don't think it'll be that bad walking through the forest. Raze continued onward, catching a glimpse of something. He couldn't tell exactly what it was, but faint marks of white marked it. "Hey, who's there? I've got sparks and I know how to use them!" he threatened, praying that whatever had the marks wasn't a Ghost type. The ions inside his small, pudgy body began to become more and more excited as he prepared a Discharge.

{Energy: 19 - 10 = 9}

Xander kept on walking, unaware of the Minum that was also in the dungeon. I hope I'll actually be able to find supplies. If I ever decide on joining the guild, I'm going to need a lot of things like oran berries. The thought of finally going to the guild and becoming an explorer excited him and also gave him determination to keep on going through the dark forest. Explorers did things like this all the time, right? Instead of paying attention to his surroundings, he started daydreaming about all of the wonderful adventures he would go on in the future. The Houndour had forgotten all about the items he planned to find and wasn't even looking where he was going. Then... He ran head-first into a tree. The stick he carried fell out of his mouth and the fire went out. "S-shit... That hurt..." He rubbed his head and sighed at how distracted he had been. I'll just... rest here for awhile... The fire-type pokemon thought as he sat down.

Just when he was about to get up and continue exploring, he thought he heard footsteps. And they sounded really close. He got into a defensive stance and prepared to defend himself from whatever pokemon emerged from the darkness. A moment later, he could see a pokemon lighting up its path with electricity. The Houndour recognized it as a Minum. He thought it wouldn't notice him and it would just keep on going, but he was wrong. The electric-type pokemon stopped pretty close to him and asked a question. "Um... Me?" He knew it sounded stupid, but he didn't know how to answer its question. The Minum didn't know him, so if he responded with his name, it wouldn't make a difference. Then, it appeared to be preparing some kind of attack. He growled at his own stupidity when he realized he had no way to get out of the way of the attack. Out of panic, he did absolutely nothing to make the Minum stop its attack.

Energy: 12

The Cheering Pokémon froze at the entity's words. It's... not a feral...? he wondered. Raze managed to keep his current voltage steady, but didn't show signs of stopping it. "Yes, you. What are you doing here? Who are you, and what do you want?" he asked. He hadn't meant it in the harsh, hostile way it sounded, but panic was overtaking his judgment. The Minun took a few steps forward, sparks still bouncing from his hand. Once he was fairly close, he could recognize a Houndour in a defensive stance.

That Houndour spoke to me, so it's civilized... Might be an outlaw. he thought with a nod. The electricity still danced around his body at a high rate, ready to let loose at a moment's notice. A growl escaped the Houndour when Raze got closer. "You heard me! Speak up, will you?" he said, pressuring the Houndour to speak. If he's an outlaw, I have a right to attack, but if he's just a traveler, I shouldn't... he noted. His mind buzzed with possibilities and scenarios, trying to guess what the Pokémon's true intentions were before he even answered.

"My name is Xander and I'm just looking for supplies." The Houndour tried to keep his voice calm, but it was really hard. Who does this Minum think he is? He knows I'm not a feral but he doesn't seem to be stopping his attack... He pressed his body against the tree because the sparks were getting very close to him. "If a single spark hits me, I wont hesitate to-" He stopped himself, realizing that saying that wouldn't make the Minum stop the attack. Although he wanted the pokemon to stop, he couldn't help but to growl at him. He hadn't done anything wrong! Why was this stupid Minum still attacking him? The Houndour immediately disliked him. Well, if he uses that attack on me, I have the right to attack him back...

The Minun still refused to lower his voltage. "I don't believe you. How do I know you aren't an outlaw? Why, give me one reason to think that you're a criminal and I'll have you in front of the police station." he bluffed. Raze doubted that he could drag the Houndour all the way back to Grassveil without a struggle, so he hoped that his line was easily concealing his lie. Though, at the same time, he didn't want to just fight Xander without hearing what he had to say.

"Well? Are you going to just stand there and growl at me or are you going to give me an answer?" he said. On the chance that Xander was an outlaw, Raze felt that he had a right to speak with that harsh tone. He had no items left to steal and barely any money, but still did not want to lose that. Under his act, he was scared out of his mind and thinking about running for it, but he pushed those thoughts aside as the sparks continued to dance along his body.

Xander sighed, tired of this Minum. This is getting ridiculous... If the Houndour was in a guild, he could easily show this pokemon his badge, but he had never even gone near a guild. "I doubt you could drag me back to Grassveil..." Raze was a lot smaller than him, and he would probably be able to get away easily. His threat didn't do anything besides make him even more mad. Why won't he just leave me alone? I didn't even touch him! He knew that if he didn't say something soon, the pokemon would attack him...

"And how do I know you're not an outlaw?" He growled, trying to buy some time. This situation was just getting worse. Xander was having trouble controlling his anger and the Minum seemed to be trusting him less every second. If he had proof he wasn't an outlaw, maybe Raze would finally leave him alone. But, he didn't. So he would just have to endure his presence for now. "You aren't big or strong enough to drag me back to Grassveil, but... I'm sure I could easily do that." He really hoped that this was enough to make the Minum stop his attack.

Energy: 12 (will have Poisoned status)

Damn, he's got a point... he thought. Though Raze's instincts told him to electrocute Xander and be done with it, he reluctantly channeled it into the ground. "...Fine, you win." he said, hanging his head. "I guess I kinda overreacted. Sorry for threatening you..." He still didn't trust the Houndour completely, but he could tell that he was getting a bit too hostile. If someone walked up to me and demanded my name and business, I'd probably get pretty mad too. Guess I'm in the wrong here... he thought.

The Minun stopped to regain his composure, then continued. "So, what brings you here, anyways? I mean, I came looking for a scarf and-" Raze was interrupted mid-sentence by a rustling noise coming from somewhere close by. He turned around to where he thought he heard the noise, but once again saw nothing. "Did you hear something? I swear there was some rustling over there..."
