Energy: 37 - 15 (Dungeon Entrance) = 22
Items in Use: Heal Ribbon (+1 energy each page)

Lumina trotted towards the entrance to the Cattail Marsh. She wasn't looking forward to getting her fur muddy and wet, but she couldn't recall ever having explored this mystery dungeon before, and she was determined to explore every single dungeon out there. How could she be an explorer without fulfilling the very title in exploring every mystery dungeon it was possible for her to explore?

She was sure that there would be water type pokemon around here, but she was prepared with her confuse ray and her payback techniques. But there might be grass or bug pokemon around here too, so her fire techniques could come in handy, too. Personally, though, Lumina couldn't wait for her evolution so that she could start learning psychic techniques and have a true advantage over her water-type weakness. Of course, then it would open her to dark type weaknesses. Lumina supposed there was no truly invincible pokemon; but she could only push herself hard and hope for the best.

Synd'r #8732606

21 - 15 = 6
Brown eyes scanned the marshy area, Synd'r's paws currently remaining dry on one of the few pieces of dry land that there were within Cattail Marsh. She had explored various dungeons in hear fruitless searches for her friend- no. Acquaintance. She was an acquaintance.

Nevertheless, this particular dungeon was one that the Vulpix had yet to set foot in, though one look at the area was enough for her to realise that she wasn't looking forward to it. Cattail Marsh didn't have the obvious beauty of places like Fallen Leaf Copse or even the safe feeling that Pecha Forest exuded. But that wasn't why Synd'r was opposed to going here. No, it was the principle of wading through shallow waters and muddy plains, in an area that was bound to house pokemon that she was weaker to.

Now thinking back, it seemed like a stupid idea. But, there was no use searching if you weren't going to search everywhere.

With a small frown on her face, Synd'r reluctantly stepped down from her dry patch of grass and into a paw deep area of water as she began to make her way through the marsh.

ooc// wasn't sure if you wanted it to be night or day so I didn't specify the time |D If you're up for it though, it might be an idea for it to progress through evening and into night during the thread so that we can see the volbeat and illumise coming out and being all pretty over the marshes xD

Lumina squinted into the sky as she watched the sun slowly melt into the horizon. Hues of orange and yellow swam among streaks of blue and violet across the endless landscape, dotted by a few fluffy clouds here and there.

She hadn't realized it was so late when she had set out for the marsh. Now she was going to be traversing the squishy wet in the dark. Maybe this hadn't exactly been the best idea of all time. But it was too late for her to turn back now!

Lumina grimaced as she stepped forward into the marsh, the squishy mud squelching through her paws. The mud clung to her fur and instantly clumped it, as well as splashing more up her legs and spotting her fur with the brown wet dirt. Her nose wrinkled as the scent of wet fur and mud wafted up to her.

This was disgusting. Why did she decide to go to the marshes again? Yeah, because she hadn't been here before. And now she remembered why she had never chosen to come here before. It was muddy and gross. But there was nothing to do now, she supposed.

Lumina cast her eyes across the marsh, her pupils dilating so as to catch the most amount of light possible. The good thing about her being a fire pokemon was that she was unlikely to get too cold, even in the cold and wet of the night. Her status as a vulpix also made it easier to see in the dark, as her species was built for the night anyway.

She wondered if she would meet any non-feral pokemon out here in the marshes at this time of night. Perhaps another nocturnal pokemon out for a late-night stroll? Though, why anyone would choose to go to the marshes at night was beyond her. But then, she had decided too, so why not another pokemon. Perhaps a water type would show up. That might be interesting. Lumina doesn't recall ever meeting a water type before, at least beyond a passing acquaintance.

Well, she would let what come, come; Lumina decided, and continued picking her way through the muddy landscape.

Synd'r #8732606

21 - 15 = 6
Synd'r glanced up at the sky as she wandered forwards, trying to ignore the feeling of mud clinging to the fur of her paws. The orange hues that lined the sky, remnants of the still setting sun, were a much more pleasant sight than the brown and murky green of the marshes beneath her feet.

After a short period of walking, the Vulpix found that she was getting used to the feeling of marshy water beneath her paws and began to ignore the gross feeling.

Heading into the marshes at night probably seemed like a bit of a fool's errand... but Synd'r was used to slinking about unnoticed in places, and night time was when outlaws like herself thrived. Who was she to ignore her calling as a creature of the night.

Synd'r halted quite suddenly however, when she heard the telltale sounds of feet sloshing through the half-mud, half-water. Ignoring the fact that the marshes were pretty gross she ducked down, using the oncoming darkness to try and hide herself as her brown gaze flicked around to identify the creator of the noise.

The Vulpix's ears stood to attention, twitching in odd directions as Synd'r worked on pinpointing the direction of the sounds origin. When she finally did so, her gaze lingered on what she easily identified as another Vulpix, wading through the marshes.

Lumina kept her nose wrinkled but otherwise proceeded to ignore the mud squishing through her paws as she sloshed her way across the marshy landscape. The sun had almost completely set by now, and tiny stars were beginning to wink awake in the darkened sky.

She had no particular objective for traveling to the marsh, and it was getting pretty obvious by her random wandering of the wetlands. She hadn't found anything yet of interest, and her fur along her belly was starting to get soaked with wet and mud just like her paws.

Lumina sighed and scrambled onto a lone piece of dry ground. It was only a few feet bigger than her, but it was dry. She dropped to the ground as soon as she was able, attempting to dry off her fur in the grass, rather unsuccessfully and probably looking like an idiot to anyone to happened to be watching. But she hadn't seen or scented any pokemon since she'd entered the marsh, so she figured she was safe from that particular embarrassment.

Synd'r #8732606

No notes.

Synd'r's brown gaze followed the other Vulpix, her location and presence apparently still hidden from view. Now that she was sure she hadn't been noticed, Synd'r took the opportunity to observe the new Vulpix. Since she had grown up as part of a group of misfits and thieves, she had never actually met another of her species, and though she knew a lot about herself and her species because she was part of it, she hadn't yet had the opportunity to meet with another individual of said species. She didn't remember her birth parents either, having grown up with the Black Quill Thieves her whole life.

As she watched the stranger continue on, Synd'r found herself amused. The other Vulpix seemed to share as much distaste for the marshes as she did, and Synd'r found a small smile of amusement gracing her features.

Slowly advancing, Synd'r followed the other pokemon, watching as it climbed out onto a dry patch of land and began to try and dry their fur on the grass. Standing to full height so that she was no longer completely hidden in the marshes, Synd'r chuckled.
"Enjoying a dust bath?" she found herself commenting.

Vulpine Bonding Empty
PostSubject: Re: Vulpine Bonding   Vulpine Bonding EmptyFri Sep 11, 2015 8:53 pm

Lumina froze on her back as she heard a voice call out. CRAP, she'd been seen in this embarrassing position! Lumina scrambled over onto her feet, completely mortified, the skin beneath her fur heating up in her embarrassment.

Her mind registered what the pokemon had said just as her eyes alighted on said pokemon. It was another vulpix. Now she was even more mortified. Her first time meeting another vulpix that wasn't family, and she went and completely embarrassed herself. But, Lumina wasn't quick on her feet for nothing.

"Yes, I certainly was," she shot back at the other vulpix quickly. "You should try it sometime; it's great for your complexion!" Now she wanted to face-paw herself. Vulpix had fur covering their skin, it wasn't like they actually had to worry about complexions! But she didn't allow her realization of stupidity to show on her face.

"It's rather surprising to find another vulpix out here," Lumina went on, eyeing the other vulpine strangely. "I would have thought there wouldn't be another fire type out here for miles! Rather disgusting place, isn't it? All this mud and water."
