PostSubject: Bent Spoon Retrieval   Bent Spoon Retrieval EmptyWed Oct 02, 2013 9:23 pm

job:
A small Archen approached the entrance of the cave, taking a deep breath as he prepared to go in. He had never been this far out before, though it did feel rather nice. His rock type was at home in this dried and heated area. Acro looked at the sky, it must have been before noon since the sun still had yet to touch the middle of the sky. He wondered if he would be able to soar that sky soon.
"You wont do it."
"Never going to happen."
He jumped as he heard the voices, he looked around wildly, seeing nothing. He dismissed it as his own imagination, after all they had sounded like George and Astrid, why would they be out here?

PostSubject: Re: Bent Spoon Retrieval   Bent Spoon Retrieval EmptyWed Oct 02, 2013 9:33 pm

Finally the Gengar had reached the cave.
Even though he didn't have to walk up all those dunes in the endless desert, but rather levitated over them, the waves of sand passing by underneath him tired William immensely.
For a living shadow like him it certainly wasn't pleasant to have the blazing sunlight burning down from above after all, so the darker shade of the cavern in front of him would be a welcome change.
Grinning wryly the exhausted Ghost type descended on the ground  and walked into the gaping abyss in front of him. A Poison type shouldn't be much of a problem.

Acro wondered if he should really go in. Sure, he was doing this for a job. Was he fit enough for the job though? Would he be able to handle himself in here? Was he just wasting his and the poor Kadabra's time? He shook the thoughts out of his head. Of COURSE he was fit! Of COURSE he was able to do this...at least he was trying to convince himself so! Although convincing one's self is a bit difficult when one is actually acknowledging the fact that one is trying to do that. The Archen decided to make a move at last and entered the cavern.
"H-Hello?" he called out, hoping for a response until he realized just how stupid of a mistake that had really been. A wild pokemon could have heard him, or bandits, outlaws, and even thieves!

"H-hello?" it echoed through the dark depths of the cave.
"Helllooooo...♪♫" a bizarrely melodical voice responded from a corner.
The shadows there seemed to be darker than the rest of the cave, wobbling in an unusual fashion.
Suddenly they thickened even further, the darkness in the cave being drawn onto one single spot.
And from that darkness something appeared. Two eerily gleaming eyes of hypnotizing red, underlined by a grin, that seemed to be far too wide to comfortably fit on any face. It was William, who had decided to have a bit of fun with the Archen, which he had immediately recognized as his dear friend Acro.

Disappearing into the darkness again, the Ghost type now hid in Acro's shadow, manifesting directly behind him, a dark hoof tapping the prehistorical bird on the shoulder.
"Boo!"

Acro turned around and screamed at the top of his lungs. Upon instinct, his tail glowed a strong white color and he whipped around, using Iron Tail to defend himself from his "attacker" that was toying with him. He had not realized it was William due to the darkness, and he was frightened beyond imagination. He wished William was here, or Tsukishiro, or anybody! He had grown to hate being alone, after having been with others for so long. He liked being with other pokemon, but his personality seemed to have the opposite effect on all others, but William and Shiro. Since they were the only ones to really go on missions with him, William more than Shiro.

This was something William hadn't been expecting.
Usually a shocked Pokémon didn't have the reflexes to use an actual type-based attack, but rather resorted to Normal or Fighting type moves. To Steel type attacks the Gengar was not immune and thus he was subsequently launched into and through a cave wall.
While the Ghost type was quite a powerful Pokémon, Acro definitely wasn't weak either, resulting in a large amount of pain as it would be expected after having recieved an Iron Tail to the face.
Groaning in pain William lifted himself up again, slowly returning to the cavern.

Acro looked around wildly, attempting to find where his attacker had disappeared to. He noticed a familiar purple shape as his eyes adjusted to the darkness, "William! OhArceusOhArceus, I'm sorry!" the Archen screeched his apology as he ran towards the ghost pokemon, "I didn't-I thought....you were...I'm sorry..." Acro began to grow angry at himself. He had been to quick to fight, he should have waited to see just who it was instead of outright attack simply because he was startled. He could not help his instincts though, he told himself before quickly yelling at himself again to stop making excuses.
"He's going to hate you now." One of the familiar voices echoed in Acro's mind.

PostSubject: Re: Bent Spoon Retrieval   Bent Spoon Retrieval EmptyFri Oct 04, 2013 4:41 pm

As he reentered the cave, William heard the familiar sound of Acro apologizing just like he always did.
However this time the Gengar did not intend to let him finish, pulling his thoughts together as he tried to interrupt him.
"Uurgh...no, I'm the one who's sorry. You didn't do anything wrong after all...I'm the one, who tried to scare you."
Why did the Archen always have to apologize for everything?  Did he really have that low an opinion of himself? It almost reminded the Poison type of himself in his earlier days. Maybe that was the reason, why they were such good friends? It was a possibilty.

Acro was unsure of how to respond, why should William be apologizing? He was the one that got hurt! He was about to bombard the Gengar with apologies once more, but was ambushed by a strange red and white larva like creature. Acro screeched as it held onto his back, he shook himself around and tried to rid himself of the pokemon that had startled him. He was more terrified than in pain, in fact he did not feel any pain. He screeched and finally dislodged the bug pokemon, revealing it to be a larvesta that seemed to be happily eating a cheri berry...

Watching the ambush and later Acro's panicked response first with surprise, then with amusement, William had to admit, that he had never seen such a creature before. Granted - he never really got around much in these parts but it still came as a bit of a shock to him, having read many books before after all. This little creature seemed to be an interesting specimen. It did not appear to be aggressive, yet it jumped at Acro for what appeared to be no reason at all.
"I don't think it's trying to hurt you..." is all the Gengar managed to say, his mind still filled with theories on what that small Pokémon could possibly be and why he had never seen it before.

Acro had been hiding himself behind a boulder, he peeked over when he heard his friend's words. He watched the larvesta nibble happily on its Cheri Berry as it lay on its back. It stopped and blinked, looking over to the two pokemon and seemed to be slightly confused. It did not speak though, for it only made strange noises that seemed similar to a pokemon that lacked the knowledge of speech would make. Acro spoke up, "I-Is it going to attack at all?"
He was unsure of whether to attack or not, he knew not what this pokemon was or knew not that this pokemon was but a child.

"It IS attacking the berry if that is what you mean.", William responded after a moment of hesitation.
"I do not believe, that it would be in its intention to cause us any harm, though. Either that, or it is incapable of doing so. We should proceed with caution, however. It could attract unwanted attention to our position."
What was this thing? It looked similar to a Weedle or a Caterpie...but it definitely wasn't one. It had to be quite powerful, as it would never have survived in this climate otherwise. But could this little being really be that strong? That is, unless it's mother would be...protecting...it...oh dear.
"Acro? I do believe, that we should leave this thing be. Very, very quickly."

Acro wondered what William was in a rush about, but didn't question it. He had no idea what this bug was capable of. He nodded and wondered which way they should run, he watched the pokemon closely as it finished the berry. The larvesta looked at Acro and smiled, it made a twittering noise and crawled around the boulder and towards him. Acro screeched and leaped to the top of the rock, only to be followed by the tiny critter. He leaped off and ran to William, and critter only followed even more happily.

William was obviously not too happy about the little thing following them around, but he obviously couldn't just attack it either. So there was only one option left for him - to run. Or to float rather, given that his species never had much affinity to the ground. While the Gengar defied many other characteristics of his species, liking to float was not one of them.
"If you value your wings remaining attached to the rest of you, may I make the humble suggestion for you to stay away from that thing?", William remarked as he descened deeper into the cavern.

Acro nodded at William's suggestion, "Way ahead of you," he spoke as he ran after William. He noticed the cave grow a bit darker and darker, until it was difficult for him to see. He was forced to stop when he bumped into something, the something gave a squeak and seemed to emit flames in surprise. The flames missed Acro, but struck a convenient branch that another pokemon must have dragged down here before. The branch made a great torch, and revealed the thing that Acro had bumped into to be the Larvesta once more! Acro squeaked himself in surprise and backed away, the Larvesta simply skittered about, looking at William and Acro curiously.
