The night was young, the sun had set mere hours ago, and away from the rustle and bustle of the busy beehive known as the City of the Ministers, was a forest. It was inhabited and filled with many pokemon of many kinds. They were free to do as they pleased, eat what they want, when they want, and how they want. Free to play what, when, and how they want. Live how they want.
Within that forest, a large circular dark dome covered the forest within. This dome disallowed any to look inside, in fact, if one had tried to look at the strange dome directly, they would not see that it was there. One could only see it from the corner of their eye.
Within this dome, was several figures. The darkness matched the outside, illuminated by the moon despite the moon not being seen. The figures stood in a circle, and seemed to be discussing something of great importance.
"Has everyone made their decision?" a deep voice rumbled to the other shadows that stood with the owner of the deep voice. The shapes moved, as if to nod.
"Remember, The Alpha only allows once a year. If you are unsure of your decision, then we must wait until you have decided. Is everyone sure of it?" the voice repeated, only to have more nods respond to it.
"What about you though? What about your decision?" one of the figures spoke up.
"My decision I've said before still remains, it is too late to change it," the deep voice rumbled, irritated, "Now, I shall bring them here, everyone in their place, and hope to The Alpha that you did not mess up yet again."
--- "Woohoo! A sick party you have here Gale!" a friend of his pat him on the back harshly in a joking manner.
Gale smiled, giving a laugh, "Thanks man! My parents really killed it like always!" the two fist bumped each other, before looking onward at the party. The house was rather fancy, one of pure white and a balcony on the second floor overlooking a rather large pool. The place was packed with party goers, dancing, laughing, eating and having a good time. Nothing crazy though, no beer inhabited the party, everyone was dressed casually with modest clothing, and nobody was pushing or shoving near the pool. It was a parent's ideal teenage party.
"Can't wait to go get your pokemon soon I bet!" the friend spoke to Gale, leaning back on the railing of the balcony.
Gale joined him, "Yeah, it's going to be so cool! I wonder what i'll get! Stunfisk? Slowbro? Anorith? I don't care what," he sighed with content, life was perfect wasn't it, "Can't wait to go back to college tomorrow though. I-"
The young man was cut off, hearing a crashing sound from inside. He looked in the direction of the crash, to find a heavy fruit bowl made of glass flying towards him. He cried out in surprise, but it was quickly cut short, as the glass struck the man and sent him over the edge of the balcony, before he could hit the ground, he disappeared.
The friend stared down stupidly at where Gale should have been, as the glass bowl crashed onto the ground below and shattered into a million different pieces. Worry glossed over him for a split second, before something washed it away and he merely shrugged, "Eh, i'm sure he's fine," he spoke before resuming leaning back against the railing. The party then continued as if nothing had occurred. Sure the whole reason of the party was now missing, but any negative emotions had been completely glossed over by the effects of the spell.
--- He woke to a throbbing pain in his head, along with a rather....awful feeling. He wasn't in the city...He needed to go back to the city! What was this feeling though? He found that he was laying on the ground, he forced himself up, wondering why this bad feeling wasn't going away. Gale rose, and found himself face to face with a strange feline creature with a dark helm like thing on its head and strange star like protrusions from its nose. Whiskers dotted the sides of its nose, but what really scared Gale, was the loud but pitched roaring sound that pierced into his ears.
The roar seemed to pierce through his ears and into his head, suddenly the pained feeling vanishing and leaving him with a large sense of fear as he attempted to back away from the Raikou. What was this thing?! Was it going to eat him!? He attempted to force himself up, ready to turn and run.
The raikou pounced, slamming down its paw onto Gale's back before seeming to roar directly into his ear after pinning him to the ground. The feeling of needing to go back to the city so desperately suddenly vanished, but the raikou kept the young man pinned to the ground, not allowing him to stand and escape.
"Must you always be so brutal with your awakenings, Raikou?" the deep voice sighed as if it were rolling its eyes. The figure that owned the deep voice suddenly disappeared, away from the sight of the humans. However the voice continued, "I dismiss you to your humans, let us hope you all made the right choices this time..." before it fell silent, and the dark dome disappeared, allowing the moon to be seen in the night sky once more.
Gale cried out in pain, the claws of the raikou digging into his back slightly. It was not extremely painful, but the untainted terror did not exactly dull his experiences. He looked around, noticing that there seemed to be other people here with him.
"Wh-What's going on?" he spoke, his eyes wide with fear, fear that he had felt for the first time in his life.
((Note; you can Rp your legends awakening your characters, I had raikou be a bit harsh for the lulz it can vary to what you please however.))

Lilian was looking out the window in her room, staring at the stars for no particular reason. She had already finished her homework for the night, which was sitting on her desk, neatly arranged for pick-up the next morning as she rushed out the door. A single light shot across the sky as she stared at the starry blanket. She closed her eyes and made a wish.
"Wishing star, if you're listening, I'd really like the chance to do something really good for the world. Even if it's just a little thing, I'd like to make people happy, do something that would make the world a better place!
As if in response, the world tilted around her as she suddenly blacked out, disappearing from her room without a trace.
---- When Lilian awoke, she felt very strange. She had never felt feelings like this before; they were so strong, and everything felt wrong and bad. She opened her eyes to see a dark figure before her. It was tall and shrouded in a black shroud, and ice-cold blue eyes. Lilian -no, she preferred LILY, she suddenly realized- felt her heart begin to beat quickly, as if she had been running in P.E. But she didn't feel exhausted, but a bad feeling was in her chest, making it hard to breathe. She would later come to recognize the feeling as fear, but in the moment, it only confused her and frightened her more.
The figure floated backwards, and Lily stopped panicking long enough to recognize the figure as a pokemon named 'Darkrai.' Her breathing quickened at that, knowing that the pokemon was known as the 'Lord of Nightmares,' a legendary pokemon, and known as the 'Pitch-Black Pokemon.'
Darkrai looked at Lily and blinked slowly. "Child, you need not fear me or my powers." it said.
Lily shuddered. "Then why am I feeling this way? What did you do to me? Where did you bring me?" she asked, her voice small and panicky.
Darkrai gave her a deadpan look. "I have done nothing besides release you from your curse, child. One would think you'd be grateful, not blaming just any old pokemon that appears before you for your emotional instability."
Lily gaped at Darkrai for a moment, thrown off-guard. Was it... making a joke?!?! Darkrai noted Lily's expression and sighed, rolling his eyes. "You would think that I would get used to that reaction after experiencing it every year. Just because you humans have this idea that I'm some nightmare boogeyman in the shadows doesn't mean I can't have a sense of humor, you know?"
Lily blinked. "Uh... sorry?" she whispered. "B-but w-what did you mean by, 'my curse'?"
"I'm sorry to tell you, you've been under a spell your entire life. It regulated your emotions and thoughts, and controlled your actions to ensure the so-called 'perfection' of your society. I and several of my legendary brethren have freed you and several other humans from your curse, that you might save the world."
Lily's eyes widened. "W-wait... w-what? Save the w-world?!" she gasped, her eyes turning dark and worried. "B-b-but... I-I ... surely I can't s-save the w-world... I... I'm not s-special..." she stammered.
Darkrai shook his head. "You believe I've chosen wrong?" He asked delicately, his eyes piercing through Lily. She shrunk back and shook her head. Darkrai hummed in amusement. "Well, seeing as how apparently me and my brethren have chosen wrongly the in the past years, mayhaps you should be worried," he said thoughtfully, and Lily paled once more. She wasn't sure if Darkrai was being humorous or if he was genuinely dismissive of the apparent previous failures.
"In any case, you're my latest choice, and I fully expect you to make me proud. Meanwhile, perhaps its time you meet your future team-mates?" Darkrai gestured with a black-shrouded arm, and Lily turned just as a roar rang out, paling in further fear as a pokemon she recognized as Raikou pinned down a fleeing male. Lily whimpered slightly, and pulled back, glancing at Darkrai uneasily, but the pokemon was just staring at his fellow legendary with an expression of amusement.
"U-uh... I.. I'm Lily," she stammered, walking over to the male. "W-who're you?" she asked.

Rui spun the the pencil in her hand, the desk lamp nearby streaming a pleasant yellow light down upon her homework. Math was unpleasant as ever, but Rui couldn't help to bring herself to dislike it. After all, it had its place in the world; didn't it? Just like her, senior in high school, great family, perfect life. The house’s silence reflected in on her; seeing her parents were still at the hospital. It was great how much they loved their work; caring for others truly seemed to be a grand thing. She spun the pencil again, stopping it on its’ third rotation and writing down the answer; a small smile flickering over her face as she did.
There would be a faint crash from downstairs, and Rui would raise her head. She was sure it was alright, whatever it was, but it was still out of the ordinary in her rather ‘Perfect’ life. Sliding back from her desk, and grabbing the small satchel of minor nursing items she kept on it. Perhaps it was one of the sick Pokemon that her family cared for, having a nightmare. But with how everything was perfect, that would be ridiculous, would it not?
She would stand at the top of the stairs looking down, a rather old vase, a family heirloom, at fallen and broken. The motif of a red Pokemon marred and shattered by its fall. She would sigh, it was saddening that it broke. But everything would turn out fine, they could take it to a crafts-shop, and have it repaired. After all, her family wasn't lacking in funds to repair it. She would take a step down, the world suddenly spinning before her eyes. A myriad of colors swirling and swimming in her vision. Her arm would flail out, reaching for the stair’s railings, only to grasp air, and flailing, fall into space.
--------------------------------------------------------
Something would tickle Rui’s face, causing her to sneeze, a faint harmonious laughing occurring as she did. Rui would groan slightly, her body being sore, and her mind feeling like a fog had been removed, only to have bricks dumped in its place. Oddly enough, she would feel as if she was still falling, if it wasn't for the rough texture of something holding her up, by her legs.
She would tiredly blink her eyes open, staring into the upside down soft yellow eyes of some Pokemon. An impish grin struck across its face as its red and white face would stare back at Ruis’. “OH MY GOSH, YOU OKAY?!” The Pokemon would let out a burst then, Rui flinching at the rather sudden energetic burst from the Red and White Pokemon. ‘I-I….Wha-? I-I don’t…..’ Rui would manage to gasp this out, her face going flush for some reason. Before the realization struck her, the Pokemon wasn't upside down, she was! And looking up, she would see her legs tangled in the branches of a tree, the wood holding her up dark against the starry sky. Rui would angle her head back to stare at the Pokemon. Whom would giggle melodically again. “Oooohh, You ARE alive! Woo! At least my aim is better this time! Suck it Bro… Hehe.” The Pokemon would spin, its ‘wings’ brushing over Rui’s face as the Pokemon seems to stick its tongue out at a Blue and White Pokemon across the grove. ‘W-wait… Why do I feel…?’ Rui would bring up one hand, resting it against her brow, and closing her eyes; as if feeling for some signs of fever. But finding none, she would open her eyes again to stare at the Pokemon. “Soooo, how do you feel Rui?” The Red and White Pokemon would turn back to Rui, the energetic yet impish smile evident in its face again. ‘I-I.. Don’t… H-How?’ “Do I know your name? Simple! I’m the one that brought you here! Well.. Uhh… Chose you, to be brought here. Ish. I’m kiiinda the one responsible for you ending up in a tree. At least you aren't dead! Like my former Chosen. That… Uhh…. Wasn't pretty, andwedon’tneedtotalkaboutitrightnow!” Rui would just blink again, the swell of her unfamiliar emotions coming finally to rest on pure, utter confusion. And in line with that she would just utter a single word. ‘What.’ “Ooohh… Uhh.. Right. Explaining. Ummm…. How did Mister Darkrai put it…? Cursed! Right. You were cursed. Well…. Spelled, Enscrolled, thaaaat kinda deal. Y’know? But! Its that time again! We’re trying to break it! Soo….. You’re here! Along with some others.” The Pokemon would gesture around the grove, to the others, the only two in Rui’s sight currently, a guy with a rather scary looking yellow ‘wolf’ Pokemon, and a girl with a rather bored seeming Pokemon. ‘W-Who….?’ Rui would manage to word out, growing light-headed from being suspended upside down from the limbs of the tree for so long. “Latias! One of the legendary Pokemon! I’m the twin of that guy.” She would spin again to point at the Blue and White Pokemon, her wings tickling Rui’s nose again. Rui would weakly tug on Latias’s wing, making the seemingly energistic pokemon turn around again. “Yeesss…?” ‘C-Can…. I get down now….?’ Rui’s voice would be weak from what she heard, and mostly from the hanging upside down from the tree. “O-Oh my gosh! I’m am soooo sorry, one second!” Latias would zip up out of Rui’s vision then, and all the confused girl could hear was the cracking of tree branches and the occasional chuckling. Rui would jerk then, bouncing as the branches would start to give way. ‘W-Wait, what about-’ Rui weak protests would be cut off by a sudden “YES!” from Latias, and the summary introduction to the ground for Rui. The grass tickling her face as she pushed herself up and backwards to lean against the tree. Latias drifting down back into her rather shaky field of vision. “S-Sorry about that… You okay…?” Rui would nod, testing a spot on her forehead, wiping away some of the grass still stuck there. “Great! Come-on, lets go meet your fellow Chosen! It’ll be fuuuun~” Latis would melodically sing the last part, grinning at Rui, and nudging her up. And rather unsteadily, still disoriented from her hanging in the tree, she and the eternally energetic Latias would head over in the direction of the others.

| A few lights were still on in the Kangaskhan Cafe, the cafe run by the Akerman family. Inside, Daneel yawned and stretched, his arms high above his head. Another busy day at the cafe. He sort of missed the old one but he was glad that his family could still continue their business with the new cafe. Everyone was so kind and helpful, and he was glad for that. His father looked up at him and smiled. "Why don't you head home Dan? You've worked hard today. Kangaskhan and I will finish cleaning up. Just make sure to flip the sign on your way out." Kangaskhan, his father's pokemon, looked up at Daneel and smiled, nodding in agreement and letting out a happy, "Khan!"
"Thanks dad! You're the best," Daneel replied, waving goodbye to his father and Kangaskhan. "See you back at the house." After flipping the sign so it read "closed," Daneel made his way home. It was very late that night, but he didn't feel afraid for his wellbeing at all. There was no crime, no risk of being robbed or murdered. He didn't even have to unlock his door when he went home. It was already unlocked, and he didn't bother locking it once he was inside. The house was completely silent; Daneel's mother was probably asleep already. He was about to do the same. Heading upstairs to his room, he yawned once again. With a little hop, he intended to flop onto the bed, but everything went black before he even hit the sheets.
Cobalion looked around at all the other humans that his companions had summoned with a look of utter distaste. Humans had started this problem, so why were they asking (or forcing, rather) humans to help them? They had failed the year before, and the year before that, and the year before that. What would make this time different? Cobalion snorted. He was the leader of the Swords of Justice, the Legendary Musketeers! It was their job to protect other pokemon from humans; they had done so for years. If Cobalion could have his way, Darkrai, Latias, and the rest of them would complete this mission themselves, but no. That idea had been flattened once again.
With a sigh, the Iron Will Pokemon summoned his next victim. He looked quite surprised when Daneel flopped in front of him, still out cold from the summoning. Cobalion sighed again, shaking his head slowly. This one would probably die first, or at least soon after the frail thing Latias had selected. He nudged him with a hoof. "Ey! Get up, human," he said, using the word "human" as if it were an insult.
Daneel slowly opened his eyes, feeling grass scratch at his chin instead of soft sheets. Before he could make heads or tails of anything, Cobalion nudged him again, with enough force to roll Daneel onto his side. "On yer feet, human! There is much to be done!" Daneel's eyes widened as he looked up at the legendary pokemon, but even with all the questions running through his head, and all the fear, this was all he did. How did he get out here? Why wasn't he in the city, or his bed rather? Why was he even here? Daneel slowly stood up, looking up at the steel and fighting type. He opened his mouth to say something, but Cobalion cut him off.
"I am going to be blunt with you, human. I have chosen you for a task, one of great importance. You will most likely fail, but I advise that you give it yer all." Cobalion began to circle Daneel, sizing him up. "You, like the rest of yer barbaric species, had been cursed, possessed by a spell to control yer very thoughts and emotions. Now, I have removed this curse from you, and in return, 'tis yer duty to find a way to free the rest of the city. You will be given more details once the rest of 'em arrive." With that, Cobalion walked off to be on his own as he inspected the other chosen humans.
Daneel didn't know what to think. He was overcome with so many new emotions, or lack thereof. For one, he noticed that he wasn't even smiling, and he didn't feel happy at all. He was actually quite annoyed, being spirited away from his home. He looked around at the other people that were here, looking just as confused as he was. Rather than feeling friendly and wanting to socializing with them, he just leaned against a tree and kept to himself. He had a lot to think about anyway. | |

| The fresh, nighttime air of the forest was crisp, and provided a pleasant feeling for Miles as he sat in wait in the bushes, on his knees and completely covered by the surrounding leaves. The young boy took careful note to control his breathing, despite his nervousness at the situation, trying to keep calm and tap his fingers against his knee quietly. He knew why he was out in the forest, that was true, but he still couldn't help but feel unsure about things, or nervous. Whenever he and Rinya had to check a new place out, like where they were now, normally he was the one getting sent to sneak over and take a peak. Mainly because he was smaller, and he could hide easier. And as he waited, he watched from nature's own cover, viewing the various chosen and legendaries as things seemed to be starting up.
Aside from the violent pokemon that reminded Miles of the one that his own patron legendary had mentioned in passing, the group didn't seem to be hostile to him. With this in mind, the boy nodded his head and began to turn away, starting to prepare to creep back out and let Rinya know that things were clear. At least, that had been the plan. "Well. I'm glad to see things are going well." The young boy froze where he was as a familiar, gruff sounding spoke. From a denser thicket of trees, a pokemon familiar to Miles stepped out. The legendary beast had a coat of brown fur, with some lighter colored spots around the chest area, and a strange red and gold crest of sorts covering its face, like a mask of sorts. Entei stepped past the bush the young boy was hiding in and glanced around the clearing, taking a look at the various legends and their chosen humans, taking an extra glance at a certain other legendary beast in the clearing, who had its human pinned down.
"Raikou, I'm shocked. You haven't killed this one yet. Bravo." The volcano pokemon stepped up beside Raikou, looking down at the human for a moment before taking a step away. He spoke in a sort of grumble, his voice filled with annoyance and a sense of dry sarcasm aimed at the thunder pokemon that left much to be desired. Having seen all he felt he needed to see, the young boy decided it was time to get back to Rinya and finish his observing from the bush. Carefully, he moved up into a crouch and began to- "Miles. I am aware you're here. Feel free to join us." The boy flinched, letting out a high pitched yelp of sorts and immediately stood up as Entei's irritation seemed to find a bit of direction towards Miles. Popping out of the bush like a mole from a hole, he turned and stumbled out from the bush, stepping out into the open and over towards Entei, cupping his hands in one another and fidgeting a bit, looking down towards the ground. Watching as his chosen came over, Entei snorted and rolled his eyes somewhat, mumbling something nearly inaudible to anyone.

| "Hah! I know right? These things are so frail if you dropped a small tree on them they'd die," Raikou snorted, still not releasing Gale to stand.
"C-Can you please get off me?" Gale finally spoke up, not liking the taste of dirt too much.
"Fine, but if you run the whole 'not killing' thing can change," the tiger snarled before lifting his paw off of Gale's back. The human finally stood, dusting off his pants. One of the other humans approached, asking of who he was. He seemed as if he was about to speak, but the yellow tiger interrupted him once more, "He's Gale. Now, human, you know your job. Free the rest of those in your little combee hive of yours from that little spell that I freed you of."
Gale, fearful of the current situation and the large tiger that had threatened to kill him, nodded, "Ye-Yeah, I'm Gale and-"
"Now, Human," Raikou spoke once more, taking a seat as a strange orb of light appeared before him, "This is to be your partner, he is a special one. He does not conform to the normal rules of the land. I'm not saying he's going to fly or anything, but he's going to be able to use a large variety of moves, not conform to those things you humans call 'levels' of power, and is immune completely to the spell. He's a tough one, he'll do i'm sure."
The light seemed to crack open like an egg, and a Cranidos dropped from the light-egg-thing and onto the ground. The cranidos stood onto its legs, having landed on its side, "Crani?" it blinked. It tilted its head to look at Gale, not quite sure what to think of this situation considering to the small pokemon it was as if he had been born fully matured. To the cranidos, it was just like suddenly existing one day.
Gale looked down to the cranidos as it looked to him, unsure of what to think of it, "This is the part where you thank me, stupid," the raikou spoke up.
"O-Oh...th-thanks," Gale said, not too sure about this entire thing, he looked to the female that had introduced herself as Lily and then to the boy that the beast that had spoken to Raikou earlier called over. Who were these people? He assumed that they all came from the same place, the city of the Ministers. What was going on? What was the spell doing?
--
A figure emerged from the forest, an audible groan could be heard from the entity known as Raikou.
"Aww you don't love me Raikou? I thought we were friends~?" the figure spoke. The figure was rather tall, and wore a cloak that concealed his face. The figure sauntered closer to the group, "Ladies and Gentlemen!" the voice spoke loudly for all to hear, "You are all now my b*tches."
"What?" Gale spoke, a confused and surprised look on his face. Who was this shmuck?
"You all work for me now? You are under my command now? How many ways do I need to put it? I know the last group didn't take it so well and practically ignored my very existence, still so heartbroken as I am though joyful that at least two of them had the sense to return to me, but surely you must have more sense then the others! I, Mr. Smiles, shall be your guide to survival in your new lifestyle," the man reached up and threw back his hood, revealing his face.
Raikou merely rolled his eyes, and left Gale to his confusion.
The man had a dark hair color, with a bang length that reached down and seemed to be trying to cover his face despite his attempt to reveal it. Mr. Smiles was, well, smiling. He seemed to be rather relaxed and carefree, and upon further inspection, there seemed to be two pokemon following behind him. A rather disgruntled looking Eevee and a Lucario with a rather blank stare and an eye patch.
Gale looked to Raikou for an explanation on this man, but Raikou only said, "I have done my job, the rest is up to you."
"Latiaaas! Raikou! You didn't kill your summons this time! I'm so proud! Entei, I made sure to keep your summons alive for you, and it seems Cresscelia couldn't quite make it in time this time. Wonder what kept her? Either way, her summons is still around as well. Cobaloin why such a stubborn face? Darkrai, buddy! How're you doing?" Mr. Smiles spoke gleefully, as if pleased by these new updates.
Gale could only stare in confusion before clearing his throat and deciding to ignore the "Mr.Smiles.
"So...uh...Lily right? You came from the City of Ministers right?" he asked, deciding to determine whether or not there were other people that came from the same city as him.
"Aww don't just ignore me!" Mr. Smiles pouted, but after receiving no response from Gale he turned to Miles, "Miiileees the newbies are being mean to meee!" he joked in a whining voice, not really expecting him to laugh. | |

| Lily noticed that more and more humans seemed to be showing up, as well as more legendaries. She stared around, wide-eyed, at all the legendaries. Years had gone by with no one seeing legendary pokemon, and then suddenly there were five or more hanging around in the same place. Lily could feel her heartbeat pick up, and it was suddenly hard to breathe. She glanced toward Darkrai in panic; having never felt this sensation before.
The pitch-black pokemon looked back at her, only one of his ice-blue eyes visible at a time, and she could tell that he was amused, though she wasn't quite sure how she knew. "What you're experiencing is either breath-taking awe from standing in the magnificence and gloriousness of me and my legendary brethren," Darkrai started, a smirk evident in his tone, "...OR, you're just having a panic attack. One of the two."
The flippant way in which Darkrai said it caused Lily to send a glare in his direction, surprising herself. Even when people had been inadvertently annoying, she'd NEVER gotten angry before. Well, she wouldn't really classify it as... anger, just... irritation? She was familiar with the terms but she'd never felt the emotions before; things were too perfect in the City of Ministers.
Lily shook her head to clear it; feeling very uncomfortable with her irritation; she didn't want to be mad or annoyed; she wanted to be happy like before. She was interrupted from her inner thoughts by Raikou talking to the boy below him, explaining basically what Darkrai had just told her; only... harsher. Lily suddenly felt a rush of gratitude towards the pitch-black pokemon. Whilst Darkrai might have had a strange sense of humor and a certain... flippancy... towards human life, at least he hadn't been harsh to her when she was already scared out of her wits from being suddenly removed from everything and everyone she had known all her life.
Darkrai floated towards her suddenly. "Ah, yes, I knew I was forgetting something," he said. Suddenly a dark, pulsating shape appeared before her. It was strange to see a black-colored light, but there it was; the sphere was black and dark but somehow emitted light. Lily could barely comprehend the contradiction, and so decided not to dwell upon it. "As Raikou said, this creature will be different than the ones you're used to; not bound by the rules that you may be familiar with. Still, it shall be your companion from this day forth; so treat it well." Darkrai said.
The black light flashed, and then started breaking apart, like an egg. A blinding white light flashed for a moment before revealing a perfectly-formed Sentret. It landed on the ground easily and looked around before crawling towards Lily and looking up at her curiously. "Sen?" it asked in a small voice. Lily broke into a smile from the cuteness.
"Dawwwww! You're so cuuuuuuuute!" she squealed, picking up the pokemon and hugging it. The Sentret seemed surprised by the action but allowed it, nuzzling its head into her neck. "Awwww! I think I'll call you... FUZZY!" she announced, grinning from ear-to-ear. The Sentret pulled back to look Lily in the eyes, his incredulous features clearly stating: "Really?" But Lily either didn't notice or ignored the look, still hugging the pokemon. The Sentret rolled his eyes and laid his head back down in her neck, slightly shaking his head as he did so.
Lily looked towards Darkrai. "Thank you so much!" She said, still hugging her new pokemon. Darkrai merely rolled his eyes, shaking his head, but behind his flippant attitude there was a hint of fondness that flashed in his eyes as she turned towards the sudden newcomer to the group.
Lily was surprised by the sudden entrance of this... 'Mr. Smiley.' She glanced towards Darkrai uncertainly at the man's words; unsure what to think. Darkrai merely met her gaze with an unreadable gaze of his own. Lily looked back at Mr. Smiley and noted that he seemed to have a similar sense of humour as Darkrai; so she wasn't sure if he was being serious that he was hurt in that no one had yet to acknowledge him.
Darkrai, for his part, merely rolled his eyes when Mr. Smiley greeted him. "Still trying to drive the humans crazy, are you, Smiley?" he returned in banter, a flash of amusement in his eyes as the man turned to another new recruit and started whining in a joking manner.
Lily jumped when a voice next to her spoke up. She turned to see the boy who had been pinned down by Raikou standing next to her, asking a question. "So...uh...Lily right? You came from the City of Ministers right?"
Lily nodded, feeling suddenly nervous. "Y-yeah..." she affirmed. "I... I l-lived on Avenue H, by the old firehouse," she said. "Where did you live?" she asked curiously. | |

| Cobalion watched from the distance, similar to Daneel. Both of them seemed to have little interest in what was going on, but Cobalion was the only one who seemed annoyed about it. He watched as the Cranidos and Sentret appeared before their respective owners. This was the worst part in his eyes: humans that were doomed to fail, bringing their pokemon down with them, and these were no ordinary pokemon either. It was a terrible wast in his eyes, but it had to be done.
Daneel watched as the Iron Will pokemon made his way over to him once again. He knew that he disliked him, but Daneel couldn't have cared less. He didn't need this pokemon's approval. Cobalion spoke.
"If you haven't noticed already, you will recieve a pokemon to help you on your journey, they will not be effected by the spell, and they certain... rules, that normal pokemon follow." As he explained, a metal egg began to rise out of the ground, shaking as if it were about to hatch. "This pokemon will always be by your side to protect you, and I expect you to do the same." In a brief flash of light, the egg cracked open, and on its place was a Numel, kneeling in the grass. "Numa-numa?" it said, blinking at it's trainer before sneezing, a tongue of flame.
Daneel gasped and took a step back. He almost tripped back against a tree root, yet somehow managed to catch himself ungracefully. Breathing somewhat heavy, he looked around, hoping no one had noticed him. His gaze stopped at Cobalion. He had seen it all. "... Boy... You aren't afraid of fire... are you?" he questioned. Daneel dug his hands into his pockets and looked away. "No... I'm fine," he lied, reaching up to scratch one of the scars on his face. They always itched when he thought back to that day at the cafe.
When this "Mr. Smiles" showed up, Daneel used him as an excuse to get away from the Numel, figuring that something imprtant was going to be said eventually. This night was just getting weirder and weirder, and for a moment, Daneel actually thought about leaving. He didn't know anyone here, Cobalion didn't have much faith in their abilities anyway, and he was just given a fire-type, of all pokemon. | |

| "That would be why you don't drop small trees on them. You drop them near them." Entei stated bluntly, turning his head back to Miles as he talked. The boy couldn't help but look down to his hands, unable to maintain eye contact with the legendary pokemon for too long, the discomfort of it too much for him. He hadn't opened his mouth to say anything about it, but he had found Entei's annoyance on Raikou's 'excess' violence to be somewhat hypocritical. When he had first been summoned, Entei had greeted him with a little test to make sure his summon he had chosen wouldn't get caught, or die so quickly. Said test involving a little bit of fire and assault. Considering he was still around and breathing, he passed. Though, from what Entei had just said, Miles could only assume that the legendary pokemon hadn't actually been trying to hurt him. After all, killing him and having to wait another year didn't sound very helpful. But, it still felt pretty real to the boy, and he had learned a good deal about fear in that event, and in the time following it.
When he looked back up, the boy watched as the others around seemed to be going through the same process he had, each legend providing a pokemon to their summon. Turning away to the bush he had been hiding in, Miles turned his gaze up to a tree nearby it and waved over at it. As he did, the branches shuffled, and a small shape took flight, gliding downwards in the night air before slowing its descent, landing on the boy's shoulder. A Noibat seemed to clutch onto the boy's shoulder, watching the others with interest as Miles smiled softly, looking over at the small bat pokemon. "Noi?" She chirruped inquisitively, beating her wings and flying around Entei's summon a bit, landing on his shoulder every so often, making him chuckle slightly.
As the next figure seemed to step out from the cover of the woods, the boy's Noibat seemed to settle on one of his shoulders, and the boy himself frowned and instinctively stepped a bit closer to Entei, bumping into the legendary, who grumbled and took a few steps away, making it clear that he would not coddle his summon. Mr.Smiles had gone on a spiel with things, just as he had the previous time, so the boy found himself not really listening all that closely, hands resting against his legs and tapping in a steady, calm beat. As the man went on to address the various legendary pokemon there, Entei snorted and looked away, as if viewing the action of man addressing him as something undignified in and of itself.
After it was all finished, Miles did his best to listen to the newcomers, wanting to hear a bit about them, before hearing Mr.Smiles complain to him. Flinching slightly, he gently picked his Noibat up off of his shoulder and held her in his arms before stepping over towards Mr.Smiles. Even though the man definitely rubbed him the wrong way, and freaked him out, he knew that the man had helped keep him and Rinya alive, somewhat at least, and that familiarity with him was better then the lack of any familiarity with the new people. As he thought of the subject, the boy looked around the woods as he stepped over, gazing through the foliage, searching for Rinya. Where had she been? What was keeping her? Had something happened? The thoughts worried him as he moved beside Mr.Smiles and looked up at the man, frowning as he did and trying his hardest to convey his question without speaking, a look of worry fairly prominent on his face.
The bat pokemon seemed to squirm about in his arms, before pulling free and flitting her wings a bit as she floated around, flying off towards the newcomers before Miles could stop her, turning around and letting out a panicked gasp. She seemed to start around Lily, hovering around the girl quickly and looking her over, before moving on to Daneel, letting out a cheerful cry around him as she moved by, ending her rounds with Gale as she went overhead, settling on the boy's shoulder. Miles took a quick step closer to Gale before stopping himself, wincing. He wanted to go over and ask to take his pokemon back, but at the same time, he didn't want to have to interact with all the others just yet. Completely indecisive in the matter, he stood still where he was, silently looking over at the human his pokemon had decided to stop on with a pleading sort of look to him, the kind of look a kid staring at their parents while they were in a candy shop would give. | |

| Rui would wobble slightly, falling back a step, her knees failing her. And depositing her heavily onto the forest grass. she hadn’t made it five steps before tumbling, and shaking her head. Rui would sigh, that wasn’t a good sign. “Hey, Rui? You okaaay there?” Latias would hover around Rui, whilst the wobbly girl would test the spot on her head that she had hit while falling. A sharp pain would shoot through her forehead when she touched it, and flinching she would jerk her hand away. ‘Ow…...’ “Ruuuuiii?” Latias’s singsong voice would bounce about in Rui’s head, making it swim even more. The Red and white pokemon would swoop down, poking Rui’s shoulder some, before backing off. Latias would look around at the others and their chosen worriedly, her eyes kinda wide. “N-Not good, notgoodnotgood. Heeey! Rui, comeon. You aren’t dying, right? Ohgodyoutotallyare, pleeease don’t die on me!” Latias would look around worriedly then, all the other Chosen were in fine shape, but hers was all wobbly. Rui’s eyes would be slightly unfocused as she flopped back lightly staring up at the black sky. Latias would poke her, earning a pained and disoriented groan. “Uhhmm…… Heey! Wakey! Please be okay……” Latias would pick Rui up, sliding her up over the pokemon’s shoulder to rest on her back, another groggy muttering coming from the girl.
Latias would then look up as a shadowy figure would step out in the grove, two other Pokemon following behind this particular, and peculiar human. Latias would worriedly look at Rui again, before the figure would say something to catch her attention. ‘.....You didn’t kill your summons this time! I’m so proud!’ “Heeeeey! That last death was totally not my fault! It was that trees’.... And the time before that, that pond was in the way!” Latias would shake her body, annoyed at ‘Smiley’, before stopping upon hearing another groan from Rui. “Umm… My Chosen is… Could I have some….. Nevermind!” Latias would turn away quickly, heading back over to the tree, and sliding Rui carefully down to rest against the rough trunk of the tree. Rui’s face flinching as her head was jostled, a faint ‘Ow’ being earned from the unlucky thus far Chosen. “Heeey! You know what would cheer you up? Meeting your pokemon partner!” ‘W-Wha….?’ “Partner! All you chosen get one, based on who you are! Cool, right?” Rui would fall silent, resting her head back, and closing her eyes. ‘Yeah. Sure…..’ “Alrighty! Your partner is riiight here!” A weight would drop down onto Rui’s head then, something incredibly light, for a brick, and yet, still there. Rui would blink open, and look up at the Pokemon, only to have a Surskit staring back. “Her name is Umi! Best partner you could ask for! And….. Uhh.. Rui?” Rui’s eyes would just close, everything thus far was overwhelming, but with the concussion and seeing a bug type, so close, so suddenly. She collapsed into a fairly blissful blackness.
“Uhhmm…… I-I’ll.. Just take my leave. BYE!” Latias would streak into the forest, a faded red blur, leaving Rui laying there, Umi just sitting happily on her fainted companion’s head, looking out over the grove and the gathering. Her eyes full of mirth at her partner’s predicament, and would let out a faded ‘Suuuur SKIT!’, trying to draw attention to her partner’s plight. |
