The light levels had dropped tremendously the further one got to the forest, the trees no longer as sparse as they were near the edges. The canopy up above was very thick with barely any holes, not letting much sunlight in. Shadows covered most of the land with even darker splotches behind trees and rocks, perfect hiding spots for whatever might be lurking in the forest. The ground was mostly covered by grass and fallen leaves, there not being enough sunlight for the smaller plant life to prosper next to the large trees' shade. Thanks to the lack of sunlight, the forest also felt quite a bit cooler than one might expect... But the day was otherwise warm, so it wasn't unbearably cold yet. A strange group of Pokémon walked through the forest. Varda, the little bird, hopped happily along the forest floor and didn't seem to at all mind the dark. By his side was his client, a large and round Blissey with a bag full of all kinds of goods, her eyes determined as she marched on deeper into the forest. It was the Swablu who had originally met the Blissey and heard her request for aid at the Guild, but it seemed like he had caught the attention of an old friend as he was accepting it. Sova from another team ended up tagging along, bringing a new friend with him. Sova had never talked about his teammates, but as it was a team, Varda had always assumed that there had to be other members! It just made sense and he was happy to finally meet someone! The bird hopped and occasionally turned to look at the newcomer, named Keith. They hadn't had much time to get to known each other back at the Guild before accepting the mission, as the Blissey had urged them along. According to her, the mission was very delicate, very important and very time sensitive, and they didn't have one moment to spare! But while they were walking, the Swablu felt like they were going to be fine... "Sova actually never told me about you before, Keith! Have you been doing missions together for a long time?"Current Energy: 30 (40 -10 from entering. Sky Powder in use, every other Pokémon encounter takes 1 less energy.)

| Varda started to fly after the rest of the group, letting Sova and Keith lead the way – after all, the two of them were first in their little formation, so they kind of had to lead where they went! Unless the bird was going to give verbal instructions, but that didn't seem necessary. The forest was silent, perhaps even eerily so... But in the bird's eyes, it was nice and calm. He didn't want to ruin this moment by saying anything, enjoy their teamwork and amazing formation. He even glanced over his shoulder to make sure that the floating bug husk would keep up – and it did! It always kept the same distance as it floated closer, its movements rather sluggishly relaxed, but that was probably because the rest of the group moved at that speed too. This silent Pokémon certainly was an expert at keeping a formation!
"Nope, I'm finee!" The Swablu chirped to the Glaceon, inquiring about there being anything else they might have wanted to do in the forest. Indeed, they would soon be done. They just had to get back to the clearing and escort their client back home. It was yet another day of great exploring and helping done, making Varda happy. He couldn't help but smile happily. It was a little sad that the day would come to an end, but it was a satisfying adventure.
A strange scent the bird could barely even smell made its way to his nostrils, causing him to look around for the source. It didn't smell like a flower, and it didn't smell bad, but... It didn't smell very good either. Actually, it smelled kind of... Itchy? No, it didn't smell itchy, it felt itchy. Varda realized it too late, the spores in his nose causing him to sneeze – and almost fall from the air, but he managed to catch himself. Was there dust in the air? It certainly felt that way...

| Sova kept his place in the formation since he didn't have to go out of his way to do so, though he figured the others would probably just follow to correct it if he stepped out of line anyway. It was kind of pointless to try and subtly resist, and he certainly didn't want to be open about his dislike for the formation as it would inevitably upset someone. He wasn't really paying much attention to his designated "side," at least not with his eyes, but his ears were enough to pick up any abrupt sounds that could signal danger. However, he wasn't hearing anything.... not that it would have really been a big deal. What could possibly be here that would be remotely threatening to the likes of him? He doubted there was even anything here that could threaten Varda, and Varda was.... Varda!
As the glaceon kept a watchful.... ear on the surroundings, something began to irritate his nose. It wasn't exactly a smell, more like.... maybe pollen? He didn't spend much time thinking about it as it didn't really seem harmful and he really just wanted to get out of here as fast as possible. Taking the time to investigate some random little detail in the environment didn't seem necessary and it certainly wasn't something he was interested in doing. Maybe in a more dangerous place where caution would be needed, or a more interesting place where he would actually care, but not here. He heard Varda sneeze, then Keith, but no one was complaining, so it still didn't seem like a big deal.
Keith kept his place in the formation, taking it much more seriously than Sova not just because he wanted to make the others happy and contribute, but also because he didn't want to risk anything that could cause the creeper to come any closer. If he were to fall out of line, maybe the swablu would try and set up a different, easier to follow formation or something, which could include bringing the shedinja closer to the group. As mean as it was, he didn't want that.
Then a scent came into being. At first, it wasn't much, he actually didn't even notice it for a moment. Then it started irritating his nose and that all changed. He wondered if it was just him, but the sound of a certain bird sneezing told him otherwise. He tried to ignore it, then took to rubbing his nose with his left paw to get it to stop, but to no avail. He ended up sneezing as well, and his body reacted to this by visually and audibly sparking for just a moment. Luckily, no one was close enough to him to get shocked.

| Varda shuddered after his sneeze, as it always felt rather funny to do that! It was like a tickle. In his nose. And it felt funny in a good way. It seemed like he wasn't the only one that got the weird dust in his nose, as another sneeze soon echoed in the dark forest, coming from Keith – and ending with a rather nice little spark, a light flashing in the darkness. The Jolteon certainly felt like some kind of beacon when even the littlest of sparks seemed to light everything around him so easily!
The bird already opened his beak to comment on that so that everyone could hear his thoughts on the matter, but something stopped him. In the not-so-distant darkness, another flash as if it was some kind of reply... Though it didn't seem to have the same kind of crackling electricity tone to it like Keith's flashes! Instead... It was cold and metallic, and...
Very bright! So bright, in fact, that it hurt and made Varda unable to even open his eyes! He floated down gently, though the landing wasn't particularly great, nor did it have to be. The bird wasn't really thinking about that, his wings covering his eyes. The floating bug, meanwhile, didn't seem to react in any way.
((I figure we need some FORRETRESS BOSS FIGHT in the baby forest okay maybe not but maybe okay very dangerous not okay. Mirror shot wow.))

| Sova kept an eye on the environment as he walked along, though he doubted anything noteworthy was going to happen. He needed to worry about others even if he himself was in no danger here. However, a sudden flash of light contradicted his belief that nothing was going to happen, forcing him to put a paw up in front of his eyes as he tried to identify the source. However, even blocking out most of the light, it was still painfully bright. Literally. It actually seemed to burn his body a bit, which told him it wasn't normal light. He needed to stop the source, but how exactly was he supposed to do that when he couldn't see it?
The glaceon calmed himself down and took a deep breath, before dropping his paw and doing his best to get a good look at the blinding light. He only managed to do so for a moment before his eyes were forced shut out of reflex, but he'd gotten an idea of the thing's general direction. A purple orb of energy formed in front of him, a physical manifestation of negativity. He paused for a moment to really focus on recalling exactly where the light source was before sending the Shadow Ball flying in the general direction of it. However, he was unsure if he'd managed to hit it, as his eyes were currently shut. In fact, he couldn't even tell if the light was still going on.
Keith rubbed his nose with a paw before continuing on walking, a bit embarrassed at how sneezing had made him all.... sparky. It wasn't really something he could control, or if he could he had absolutely no clue how to. However, he didn't get much time to dwell on that before a sudden, blinding light struck him, and man did it hurt! He recoiled back, closed his eyes and turned his head away from the light, but it still seemed to hurt! Of course, it didn't hurt nearly as much now that his eyes were protected, but it was odd for a mere light to actually be painful.
What to do, what to do.... oh, this was a move, right? Keith realized this meant something was attacking them, and since the others were here, they would surely handle it! No problem.... but he didn't really like feeling so useless. Maybe there was something he could do to help, but what? He'd have to put himself in danger and aside from that, he couldn't even see at the moment! Besides, he wasn't exactly very strong, so if there was going to be any trouble at all for the others in stopping whatever was blinding them, he surely wouldn't be able to help in the slightest.

| Varda rubbed his eyes with his wings, trying to regain his eyesight by... Well, getting something out of his eyes, he didn't know! It was just a reflex at this point, really. His eyes had already gotten pretty used to the dark forest, so the sudden flash had certainly been painful for his eyes! Little by little he managed to open his eyes more, the hazy, shadowy surroundings becoming clearer and clearer. Eventually the smudgy shapes even looked like, well, things! Trees in particular. And darkness. There was a lot of darkness, still...
There was a distinct swoosh sound coming from the side, but it wasn't wind. No, there didn't seem to be much of a breeze in the forest, so it probably wasn't just the wind. The Swablu turned to look to the side, just in time to see a dark silhouette of something rolling by at great speeds, heading... Towards them! It didn't take all that long to register in his head, but as he tried to move out of the way, the bird realized his body was much more sluggish than his mind at the moment!
But before the thing hit him, there was just the sound of something being hit, and then... Silence. Varda only saw darkness... But then he realized he had squeezed his eyes shut, so he just opened them to see what had happened! The floating bug husk was there, having moved from its earlier position behind them to put itself between the group and the odd shadow that had tried to attack them. But there was no shadow. In its place, there was an odd round ball thingy, right in front of the bug? It seemed to be a bit dazed as it just lied on the ground, unmoving... But after a while, it did stir, seeming like it was still conscious.
((I thought all the giant plants were Weedbustered already.))

| Sova waited a bit too long to try opening his eyes, but when he heard noises coming from Varda's direction, that immediately changed. His eyes shot open and he looked over to the little bird, to see.... well, something surprising to say the least. The first thing he noticed was that their attacker seemed to be a forretress. Then he realized the shedinja that'd been lurking on their group also happened to be there, in a place that seemed to imply it'd protected Varda. Well, as grateful as he was if this was the case, he didn't have time to thank the thing right now. His fur flash-froze and he bolted over to the scene, though he didn't make a move in case the forretress decided to give up.
Sadly, giving up did not seem to be at the top of the spherical-shelled bug's list of priorities. It glowed for a moment, but this light was not nearly as bright as the one it had let off earlier, then the glow seemed to transfer to Sova. Suddenly, he felt considerable pain at the same time that the forretress began to really stir. It'd split its pain with him, but this wasn't going to stop him from paying it back.... He darted into the large creature in an attempt to ram it, but it suddenly started up quickly spinning on the ground, which managed to stop him from effectively hitting it and knocked him off his paws, onto the ground.
"That's annoying.... Varda, why don't you just put this thing to sleep?" the glaceon suggested as he got right back up. He wasn't particularly worried about his own well-being here, he could take plenty more of a beating than this, but he knew from experience that forretress were annoyingly difficult to take down. If one could be dealt with without having to forcibly knock it unconscious, he much preferred such an option. Varda could sing things to sleep, and while it wasn't the most reliable thing in the world, it was worth a try.
Keith opened his eyes as soon as the stinging sensation stopped, gathering that this meant the light was through being flashed. However, he stared at the ground in an attempt to get a focused image and fully regain his sight. As of right now, everything was very.... fuzzy. It didn't seem to be coming back into focus quickly either. He decided to just look up and try to focus on the environment, but it was still futile. He pretty much couldn't see anything, it was all so blurry and his eyes had been adjusted to the sudden flash of light, which meant he could barely see through the darkness of the forest.
The jolteon squinted and tried to get a clear view of something, but to no avail. However, his ears were still working just fine and he could hear things! First, moments, though this didn't really give him much insight into what was happening. Then he heard a voice.... Sova! Saying something about putting something to sleep, which he assumed was in reference to the thing that'd flashed the light at them. This seemed like a good idea, putting it to sleep instead of getting into a big fight with it.
(But I thought there was a weepinbell.... where did I get that from? I must have confused this for the other thread.)

| Varda took a moment to understand what was actually going on, but when he did... He was shocked! Their fourth party member, the silent bug... Had actually stopped the strange sphere from running them over? He had no idea such a small Pokémon could block what seemed to be so strong and heavy, but here they were! It certainly filled the little bird with inspiration, making him to want to do something like that... Or at least feel like it was going to be possible! At some point. In the future. When things went bad. Or something. Hopefully things didn't go bad, though.
But the Pokémon that had tried attacking them didn't stop them. It stirred and got up – well, as well as a creature with no legs could, its beady little eyes looking a bit confused before it managed to regain its earlier composure. And then, it started to glow again! The Swablu was going to be quick this time, shielding his eyes from another painful glare – and it worked! ...At least he didn't feel like it was hurting and his eyes were just fine when he opened them a moment later. By then, Sova had already managed to rush closer, attempting to do something to the odd Pokémon, but it was surprisingly quick for something without legs! It spun around, kicking up some dust in the process and bumping Sova off his paws.
"Ah, Sova!" Varda chirped, hopping backwards as he tried to avoid the rolling creature. The floating bug husk also seemed to move backwards in its usual, slow way. And then... The Glaceon gave him the greatest idea. The bird's eyes lit up in realization, and he nodded. "Alright! Be careful," he replied, drawing in a deep breath. He was prepared to sing and wasted no time doing it, starting his calming lullaby.
((Maybe. Clearly another big-mouthed Pokémon that can go after Skylar's tail.))

| Sova let out a slight chuckle at his ally's worry for him. It was funny, because he knew nothing in this place posed much threat to him. However, forretress were very hard to actually take down even if they weren't particularly offensively threatening. As Varda began singing, the living ball began rolling toward the bird, but was forced to suddenly stop as a spiky tail slammed into it. Of course, it spun rapidly again, knocking the glaceon away, but he landed on his paws and bolted right back toward it. Again, he attacked with his icy quill-coat, and again, he was knocked away by a rapid spin.
He knew the forretress would target Varda immediately to prevent itself from being put to sleep, so he was going to keep constantly attacking it and forcing it to constantly play defensively. Every time he was knocked away, he managed to land on his paws and dart right back at it within moments. It wouldn't get any time at all to attack anyone, and he was confident he could outlast both its stamina and its consciousness. He was still trying to hurt it, of course, but the spinning every time he tried to hit it made it difficult to hit any weak points. It was funny, though; his armor was barely even being scratched by the counterattacks and any damage it took was simply repaired.
Sure enough, the forretress' spins began to slow down after a bit of the little dance he was having with it. However, Sova was also beginning to feel a bit drowsy from the singing, since he was in the direct path of the sound waves as well and was making no effort to cover his ears. Still, he knew he could stay awake far longer than the enemy. Still, he wanted to end it quickly just to be safe, so he continued trying to actually hurt it with his attacks.
As the forretress slowed down, it became easier to hit it in weaker places, which brought it closer to unconsciousness faster. Within no time at all, it completely stopped spinning and rolled onto its side, having fallen asleep from the singing. Sova panted from all the constant running he'd had to do to keep it occupied. Though, other than being a bit worn out, he was relatively unscathed.
Keith continued trying to bring something - anything - into focus in his vision, and eventually, it started working. He could hear singing, which made him cover his ears with one of his front legs just in case. It probably wouldn't have made him very tired since he wasn't in the direct path of it, but it never hurt to be cautious. His vision was returning and by now, he could tell that Sova was attacking the.... Forretress, that's what it was, right?
The forretress was surprisingly holding its own fairly well considering it seemed Sova could hit considerably hard. However, Keith could tell by how rapid and relatively pointless the attacks seemed that they weren't intended to defeat the enemy. The glaceon was just trying to stall it.... Varda was singing it to sleep, so of course, that meant it needed to stay away from Varda. Sure enough, it eventually ended up passing out, and it seemed like most of this had been from the singing. He took a few steps closer, though stayed cautious and at a distance, just in case it decided to get back up. He didn't want to be in the way if that happened.
(No, not the tail! She's gonna have PTSD by the end of all the tail-attacks.)

| Varda sang, doing his best to concentrate on singing, but… The sounds of battle were rather difficult to ignore even when he closed his eyes. He could hear and feel how the spinning ball of a Pokémon came closer, the gust of wind generated by that tossing his feathers around, and then a slam. And silence. A silence the bird would have wanted to last for a while, but in a split second it was over as both of the combatants got back on their feet. Or well. Whatever the ball-shaped Pokémon really had. It didn't have legs…
It was caused the Swablu to open his eyes, his voice stuck in his throat for a moment as he drew in a gasp of air. But he couldn't stop. Shaking his head, Varda forced himself to focus on singing again, as that was the important thing here. If he stopped, everything would be much more difficult – or so he assumed, as Sova had asked him to do this and clearly the Glaceon knew the best way to handle this situation!
Once again his voice was audible, his chirps turning into a song he wasn't going to stop another time. Whatever happened, he wasn't going to let it bother him. Varda's eyes were squeezed shut and he tried to filter out the rest of the world as well as he could. He could still hear, of course, but he didn't let the sounds of fighting distract him this time! He heard how something very hard, almost metallic was hit. He heard how something was hit against the ground, how dirt was kicked up…
And the sounds grew weaker and slower every time they happened as he continued, eventually disappearing completely. The bird was so focused in his song that it took him a moment to realize such, his eyes opening in a confused manner and his voice wavering. The ball that had attacked them had fallen over, its little beady eyes closed. "Ah," the Swablu cooed, blinking as he stared at the strange Pokémon. This was the first time he had managed to get a good look at it, and it certainly looked weird… But that wasn't important right now! "Oh! Are you two okay?"

| Sova stared at the forretress as he caught his breath, just waiting for it to get back up. The second its eyes opened, he was going to slam his tail into its eyes. But it never happened, the forretress just stayed unconscious on the ground. It was a bit disappointing, as it'd been good melee-attack practice. But it was also a relief because it was one less obstacle in the way of them all getting out of this forest. His team was becoming considerably high rank.... and an actual team, so he was bit.... excited to get back to the Guild to confirm another job as completed.
"I'm fine," he spoke calmly, then remembered he wasn't the only one in question. He assumed the other one being questioned wasn't the unconscious enemy, even though he didn't put such a gesture above the likes of Varda. This meant it was probably Keith, whom he promptly remembered was nearby. He looked over to the jolteon, who didn't really seem to be injured, which was good. "And so is he," he continued, taking the liberty of speaking on his teammate's behalf. He figured Keith would appreciate it if anything, with not having to speak up and whatnot.
"How about you?" the glaceon questioned and looked to Varda. He was fine and he was pretty sure Keith was fine, but Varda had been in the air one second and on the ground the next, which seemed to imply the bird had fallen. If they were all well, then they could continue onward to their destination that was literally a minute away. His ice-quills began to melt and break away as his body's temperature rose a bit, showing he was pretty sure the battle was over.
Keith uncovered his ears a moment after the singing stopped so that he could hear. He was hopeful to get out of this place, but it seemed talking needed to be done first.... And worse yet, it looked like he was being questioned on his health, which meant he would have to answer. Well, he didn't feel too bad; the light had been a bit unpleasant, but it wasn't much in comparison to the fight he'd literally been forced into earlier, which he was still kind of mad about. But to his relief, Sova answered for him, saying that he was fine. Which was true, he was doing okay.... physically speaking.
The jolteon prepared to turn back toward their destination, but it seemed they still weren't going yet. Of course, they had to make sure VARDA was okay too. Which.... he agreed with, but it didn't stop him from being disappointed that they couldn't just get moving already. Varda seemed fine, they all seemed fine, why couldn't they just leave already? This whole Guild member thing was proving to be a lot of work, and it wasn't like he'd thought it wouldn't be, but.... this was supposed to be a relatively non-threatening area that a lot of rookies went to for explorations and training. He could barely handle this even with two very experienced Guild members watching over him, so how was he ever going to be able to do any missions on his own? For now, he just wanted to get out of this place and have a long rest.... He'd worry about this issue later, after having plenty of time to think about it.

| Varda nodded as Sova claimed to be fine, not seeing any reason to disbelieve when his friend wasn't, well, full of wounds and bruises and barely able to stand. He seemed a little roughed up, but… They were about to leave and Sova could walk back on his own, so any injuries could easily be taken care of! He was fine with that. The bird did look in the Jolteon's direction as he was waiting for a response, but the reply came from an entirely different direction! With a blink, Varda turned to look at Sova, who seemed to be certain that Keith was alright.
The Swablu turned to look at the Jolteon once more, giving him a good, long look. Yes, it looked like… He was fine too. No signs of him being hurt he could see, at least! The scrutinizing eyes of the bird turned into a happier expression, as he was fine with that answer, too. He nodded again, accepting it. The two were fine!
But… Was he? That was the next question. Varda's smile disappeared, his eyes growing large and then concerned as he looked down at himself. He spread his wings slightly as he searched his body for signs of something that might have meant he wasn't alright, a quiet and thoughtful hmm escaping him mouth. "I'm fine!" The bird finally chirped happily as he came to the obvious conclusion, back to his cheerful self as he looked up at Sova.
"That was a good formation," he continued as he started to waddle along the path, his tail feathers bopping from one side to another.

| It seemed Varda was fine, which meant they could all leave without having to worry about anyone's health. Sova, for one, was relieved at the promise of getting out of this place as soon as possible. They could go see if their client was done with.... cheering up Mr. Gloomy yet, then hopefully, they could leave. "Mhm," he simply responded to the comment about the formation, not wanting to give much of a response to make the bird want to talk more or make another formation or something. He kept from saying anything else on the way there out of desire to not end up holding up the group with a conversation.
It only took a minute to get back to the place they'd left their client, and sure enough, the blissey was still there. He couldn't really tell if the blissey was finished cheering up the phantump without asking, but honestly, he was kind of hoping someone else would ask. He didn't want to deal with the unbearable cheeriness this creature exhibited. Well, Keith certainly wasn't going to speak up from what he knew about the jolteon, so that only left Varda.
"Why don't you see if our client's done?" he requested of the little bird, hopeful that Varda would comply for him. Besides, it seemed like Varda was fond of those with the disgustingly happy type of personality, so who would be better to talk to the blissey? He figured the swablu would be more than willing considering this.
As Varda checked himself for injuries, Keith just watched silently. Once everyone agreed they were all fine, the other two got going, so he followed right along. Any path that involved leaving was a path he was okay following. Besides, it would be dangerous to leave the group and go off alone, plus he had no reason to do that, so of course he was going to follow. He didn't speak on the way back to their client, and to his relief, it was a short walk. Well, he knew it was going to be a short walk, but they'd kept being stalled by random inconveniences.
When they got back to where they'd left their client, the blissey was still there. This was good, because otherwise they would have had to go searching for a lost pink thing. It was suggested for someone to go talk to the blissey to see if they could leave yet, and to his relief, it wasn't him who had to do it. Or at least, it seemed like he was going to get to stay away from social interaction here, though he didn't know if Varda was going to agree to do it. And if the little bird didn't want to, did that mean he'd have to instead?

| Varda waddled along the path, his mood getting better as he started to slowly forget about the fight they had just earlier. There wasn't much to go anymore at this point, the small meadow just up ahead. It seemed to be just as they had left it – and it was nice how the trees let in a bit more light there, truly making the place seem like a little paradise in the dreary forest. Not that the bird was too bothered by the darkness, but there was some part of him that just liked the way sunlight looked and felt.
And indeed, their client was still there, as well as all those odd tree-like Pokémon that just stood around… Though now it seemed like they were taking a nap. The little stump their client had come to help was also there, looking a bit better now, less gloomy – even smiling! That filled the Swablu with happiness as well.
Sova's voice caused Varda to turn to look at his friend, happily nodding at his request with a little alright! before he hopped over to the Blissey to ask if she had finished her business. The Blissey seemed to be quite proud of themselves, just beaming with joy as she stated that she was ready now. The bird seemed to be just as happy as he turned to the rest of the group – the floating bug husk still seeming to be there behind them all – and waved a wing. "We can return now!"

| Sova watched the little bird go be social so no one else had to. It wasn't like he was being mean by asking Varda to do it, since that was the kind of thing Varda liked doing. He personally disliked talking to those with overly happy personalities, and he knew Keith would have no interest in doing the talking, so it worked out well. He waited for a response in silent awkwardness with his teammate and the ever-silent floating bug. It didn't take long before Varda looked back at them and spoke up, saying they were ready to go now.
Great. The glaceon immediately turned toward the path they'd originally come from, having remembered it due to having a bit of a landmark in this clearing to go off of. "Time to go, then. I wouldn't count on your new friend following us all the way back to the guild, by the way; pretty sure it won't leave its home," he spoke, with a reference to the shedinja. With that out of the way, he began walking on his way back down the path that would lead them out of this dull place. Well, actually, the path would first lead back into the darkness of the shrouded forest, which meant it would lead to duller places first.
He wondered about the shedinja as he walked, being a bit curious as to why it was following them and why it seemed to like Varda. Well, he didn't know much about the mentality of a shedinja, so he couldn't really say. Either way, it clearly wasn't hostile, so even if it decided to follow them all the way back to the guild, he doubted it would be a big deal. Still, he was pretty sure it was going to stay in the forest since this place was obviously its home. But he wondered how far it would follow them.
Keith was sighing on the inside when the little bird agreed to go talk to the client. What a relief, he didn't have to do it! Well, he wanted to think Sova wouldn't make him talk anyway, but considering what Sova had already purposely put him through today, he for some reason doubted it. Then again, earlier, it had been for the sake of trying to teach him self-defense, right? What would talking to someone teach him about self-defense? Maybe if it was with a hostile yet willing to talk pokémon, he could understand. But as it currently stood, this blissey was the exact opposite of hostile, so maybe he wouldn't have been pushed to do the talking if Varda hadn't. Plus, if Sova had wanted him to do it, surely he would have been the first one asked!
The jolteon gave a slight wave back when the birdie waved over to them, though his was significantly more reluctant. When Sova got moving again, he eagerly followed along, wanting to get out of here as quickly as possible. The shedinja was briefly brought up, though by this point he didn't care whether it followed them or not. It hadn't done anything at all to suggest it had any ill intent and he.... at least hoped Sova could take care of it if it tried. The thought of it even following them back to the Guild didn't bother him, since it seemed to be attached to Varda in specific, not himself.

| Varda nodded a couple of times as Sova mentioned how they should go. He looked at the Blissey before waddling over to the rest, their client following him – and even though her legs were rather short and stubby as well, it seemed like it wasn't too difficult to follow the bird's pace. But when the Glaceon talked about the odd bug-like Pokémon that had been with them from the start of this mission pretty much… The Swablu couldn't help but look behind them, the oddly silent Pokémon still there in its usual place. A small frown appeared on the bird's face.
"Oh," he just exclaimed quietly, feeling saddened that they might have to part ways with a new friend already. They hadn't known each other for long – if at all, considering that the Pokémon didn't speak at all – but to Varda, everyone was already the best friend he had ever had. He glanced at the bug Pokémon again, but as one might have expected, there was no answer. No reply of any kind, no words, no sign of the Pokémon even understanding what they were saying… Though of course, that didn't mean it didn't understand.
But the Swablu couldn't stay down for a long. No, he was happy for this time they had together – and he couldn't feel bad when the Blissey was staring at him in such a concerned matter! It didn't have to be the end, he could always come back and… Well, maybe they'd meat again. He had at least made a more permanent friend in the form of Keith, at least! The bird's steps were full of bounce as he continued to walk along the path.
The meadow turned into shadows, and the shadows eventually stopped being as dark as the trees grew sparser, more sunlight managing to pour into the forest. Indeed, the Shedinja eventually started to drift further apart from the group before it disappeared entirely while the rest of the group made it back to Grassveil Town…
