PostSubject: Being blind sucks.   Being blind sucks. EmptySat Mar 28, 2015 8:52 pm

A bewildered Deino wandered around aimlessly in Pecha forest, muttering and cursing to himself. It would seems he's searching for something. "Argh! Where is it? Where's that stupid exit?" Frustrated, he laid down on his stomach to collect his thoughts. "I Really wish I was a Hydreigon, maybe then I could able to see where I'm going." The Deino just sat there for awhile, figuring out how to navigate his way out of the forest. Walking around aimlessly wasn't going to fix the situation, especially when he's blind. So how is he going to find his way out?

"Maybe someone can help me? There gotta be someone here. Then again, calling for help will sure to attract Outlaws." Aaron, the Deino, had a perplexed look on his face. Eventually, he got up on all four of his hind legs as he figured that if he does encounter a bandit, or anything else dangerous, he might as well fight them. Considering that as training, he began to wander again, this time calling out to someone. "Hello? Can someone help me get out of here?"

Energy: 20 - 5 = 15

Silverdawn slithered through the Pecha Forest silently. She was brooding. All of her hard work had gone away in the blink of an eye -well, that is, if she COULD blink, anyway. She shook her head. She was getting off on tangents. Ever since she had left her parents, she had wanted to run a shop, but now her shop was nothing but a pile of rubble... all because of one, stupid outlaw. In the MIDDLE of Grassveil Town, where a GUILD was located! It was ridiculous. Silverdawn took this as a sign that she wasn't meant to be a shopkeeper.

She sighed, coming to a stop and curling up on herself. She didn't even care that she was in the middle of the Pecha Forest -a location of many a nightmare for her, as it was where she had lost her sight, so long ago.

"Hello? Can someone help me get out of here?" A voice called through the forest.

Silverdawn lifted her head and tasted the air. She let out a series of clicks from her mouth, lighting up the darkness to reveal a mental image of the forest around her. She could also feel small tremors of the ground beneath her. From these senses, she was able to tell that there was a deino wandering the forest not far from her.

She slithered towards the voice, nimbly avoiding the obstacles in her way despite her disability. She came upon the deino and turned her head curiously. "Are you alright? you're not hurt, are you?" she couldn't smell the tell-tale scent of blood in the air, but it still could have bruised, sprained, or even broken a bone without breaking the skin, especially since it was a deino -dragons had rather tough skin, in her experience.

Now it time to play the waiting game. Whatever or not he'll receive help is remain to be seen. The Wandering Deino Shook his head as he press onwards though the fruity forest, thinking about the predicament he was in. Why did he came this place Anyway? Oh yeah... to gather some supplies, maybe train a little if some mook shows and tries to attack me. He chuckled a bit at his own statement. Oh how he should of known that he'll get lost in this place. With a sigh, Aaron sat down on his rump, giving up on this hopeless situation.

Maybe I should knock myself out? This is a mystery dungeon and rumor has it that I'll be transported back if I do. Desperate time calls for desperate measures. He slowly got up and swung his head in a attempt to search for a tree without hurting himself too much. As soon as his head tapped on a tree, he prepared himself. He took a deep breath, stepped back for some room between him and the tree, and then he charged.

Unfortunately, Aaron tripped and tumbled into the tree, a result he was not expecting. The Deino's back was on the tree upside down, slightly dazed, had some cuts too maybe? The Deino couldn't tell. "Are you alright? you're not hurt, are you?" Maybe he was still dazed, but he could of sworn he heard someone talking to him. "No... No... maybe just a headache, but I'm alright." Aaron rocked side by side, falling sideways into the ground. He slowly but surely picked himself off the dirt. "Thanks anyway... Wait... Are you here to help me get out of here?

"No... No... maybe just a headache, but I'm alright. Thanks anyway... Wait... Are you here to help me get out of here?"

Silverdawn tasted the air, her tongue flickering out of her mouth to do so, making a small hissing noise. She knew they weren't alone in the forest, and she didn't want a feral pokemon sneaking up on them while they talked. When her senses brought no threat back to her, she curled up in a coil comfortably and turned her head towards the deino.

"Well... I didn't enter the forest with the sole purpose of helping you, if that's what you mean," she answered the dragon's question. "But I might be persuaded to lend a helping ... well, tail, in my case. What is it that you need help with?" she asked curiously, not even giving thought to the possibility that the deino couldn't navigate the forest.

After all, if a mere ekans like her, who lost their sight, could figure her way around, surely a pokemon used to being blind, indeed, having been blind its entire life, knew far better ways of navigating without sight than she.

"Well... I didn't enter the forest with the sole purpose of helping you, if that's what you mean. But I might be persuaded to lend a helping ... well, tail, in my case. What is it that you need help with?"

Deino sighed. "I Just need someone to guide me out of this forest." He know what this pokemon was thinking, being blind all his life, shouldn't he get used to being blind? Ironically no, he never had the luxury of traveling blind alone. He always ask his Parents or someone else to help guide him, in fact, the only reason he manage to be at the entrance of Pecha Forest was because he paid an escort to take him there. Funnily enough, his escort did warn him that this would happen, but Aaron was being stubborn. And now look where he is.

"Listen, I don't have anything to give you, and I doubt that I have a silver tongue to persuade you into helping me." Aaron quickly faced the tree and took a few step back, preparing himself for impact. "So if you want to leave, you can. you don't have to help me." But he really wish she would, but he's not the type of Pokemon to go around and force someone to do things. He bolted towards the tree, determined to get out the forest one way or another.

Silverdawn hummed thoughtfully. It was strange to her that the deino couldn't navigate himself out of the forest, but then, what did she know about pokemon species who were naturally blind?

"I'll help you," she assured the deino. She let out a small, hissy chuckle. "I guess it will be a case of the blind leading the blind," she said humorously, forgetting that the deino had no way of knowing that she, too, was blind. "Though, if you don't know how to navigate, I have to ask why you came to such a dangerous place in the first place. Mystery Dungeons aren't exactly the most hospitable of places."

"I'll help you." The Deino skid to a halt inches from the tree. Did she just say she'll help? "phew, She's a life savior. he turn around and gave the Ekans a small smile. "I guess it will be a case of the blind leading the blind," Blind? Just like Aaron? How did she even manage to find him in the first place? Yeah She probably followed his voice, but honestly, thats not important, whats more important is how is she going get him out if she's blind.

"Though, if you don't know how to navigate, I have to ask why you came to such a dangerous place in the first place. Mystery Dungeons aren't exactly the most hospitable of places."

The Deino chuckled at the question. "Sure I can't navigate, but that doesn't mean I can't handle myself. Anyway, I was just getting some supplies, and hopefully find a feral to train on if one attacks me." Aaron's face turned into a serious one. "I might know the answer already, but if your blind then how are we going to find a way out?

Silverdawn burst out laughing at the deino's words, her entire body shaking as she did so. After a moment, she calmed herself enough to say, "Oh, you poor, deluded creature, you. Just because you go into dangerous places unable to navigate; I am nowhere near as foolish as that. I can find my way around perfectly well. Ekans and other snake-like pokemon can sense the vibrations of the earth. Even so-called immobile objects are always vibrating, just smaller and quicker than most pokemon can pick up on. Aside from that ability, my sense of hearing and smell are quite advanced, especially since the accident that robbed me of my sight. And if those weren't enough, I also tracked down a noibat soon after my accident to teach me echolocation. I don't need to see to know exactly where everything in this forest is, from the blind, burrowing things beneath the earth to the smallest leaf shaking at the top of the tallest tree."

Silverdawn realized that she may have been boasting a bit much, but shrugged it off. It was all true, so what was there wrong in stating it?

"Heh, I admit, it was a stupid thing to do," Aaron chucked at Silverdawn's reaction, yeah it was a foolish thing of him to pull a stunt like that. So she's Ekan with the ability to sense the vibration of the earth. Aaron father, who was a Arbok, also told him about his species. So in a way, he already knew the moment she revealed herself as a Ekan. Did she say she also specialize echolocation? "But something is bothering me, You said you can use Echolocation? How on earth did you manage that? Is it something I could learn?"

Aaron Have few questions now from all the Ekan boosting. One particular question though gotten the Deino nervous.

Silverdawn's Energy: 20 - 5 (entry) = 15

"Heh, I admit, it was a stupid thing to do. But something is bothering me, you said you can use echolocation? How on earth did you manage that? Is it something I could learn?"

Silverdawn nodded out of habit, even though she knew the deino was blind. "Yes, you should be able to learn it. Pretty much any pokemon who is blind and able to make a noise can learn echolocation; its just really difficult for a pokemon who doesn't naturally use echolocation to learn it. It took me quite a while to get a handle on echolocation, myself."

"So... I could be able to navigate myself on my own if I learn it?" Aaron had the biggest smile you'll ever see from a Deino. He have to learn this trick, if it mean not having to rely on others anymore. but that brings Aaron to another question. the very question that's making him nervous. His smile turned into s serious one. "Um... excuse me, would you mind teaching this?" Aaron stepping back a little bit. As he did so, he stepped on something... squishy. Ignoring it, Aaron hold his breath. He know she would say no, in fact, whats in it for her to teach him in the first place especially when she already helping him with getting out of this Forest. But there a small shimmer of hope in the Deino mind that regardless of that, she would still be able to teach him.

"I know you don't have any reason for teaching me, but..."Aaron's voice trailed off.

"So... I could be able to navigate myself on my own if I learn it? Um... excuse me, would you mind teaching this? I know you don't have any reason for teaching me, but..."

Silverdawn paused as she felt the vibrations of something rolling in the dirt as the Deino stepped on it. She slithered forward, moving the deino's foot out of the way to sniff at the object. She identified it as a Pink Gummi easily. "Do be careful of where you step, dearie," she chided gently. "Gummi's don't grow on trees, you know."

She moved the gummi aside for later and then pondered on the deino's question. She wasn't sure she was qualified to teach echolocation, really. She knew how to use the ability, sure, but she didn't know much about deino anatomy, or really how their senses worked. She wasn't sure she could explain it well enough to help the dragon type out.

But just as she opened her mouth to respond, a caw rang out, interrupting her. Silverdawn ducked just in time as a Murkrow swept just above her head, claws extended out, clearly trying to make a meal out of the snake pokemon.

Energy: 15 - 4 (Stamina Band) = 11

Aaron gave a surprised gasp when the Ekan move his feet away to get something under it.

"Do be careful of where you step, dearie, "Gummi's don't grow on trees, you know."

"Oh sorry..." Aaron look at the dirt, having a thoughtful look on his. She's probably think it over, wondering or not if she should teach him. If she will, He'll work seriously as if he was training his combat skill. However, he soon heard a caw coming toward Silverdawn. It must of been a feral Pokemon. "Hey watch out!" He had a huge grin on his face as the Ekan dodge the Murkrow. Finally, he can train now, for the sake of his brother. He focus his hearing on the Murkrow, mostly his breathing. a trick he learned by his mother. With a deep breath, he prepared to use his dragon rage attack.

Silverdawn hissed at the Murkrow, launching her body towards the sound of its wings. She opened her mouth and as she hit the bird's body, she bit down and held on as it shrieked and flapped around, trying to dislodge her. Silverdawn hung on and worked to wrap her coils around the flailing bird, managing to pin its wings and send the two pokemon onto the forest floor.

"Ha! Let do thi-!" Before he could say anymore, he was tackled by a Hoothoot. Aaron staggered by the blow, however he isn't down and out yet. With a smirk, the Deino spit out a ball of draconic energy at the Hoothoot. fortunately, the Hoothoot took the hit, effectively and efficiently knocking it out. "Too easy." He isn't about to get cocky yet, there might be more feral to tend to. for now, he'll let Silverdawn take on the Murkrow.
