Marsh Mishaps Empty
PostSubject: Marsh Mishaps   Marsh Mishaps EmptySun Jan 25, 2015 10:08 pm

The Tepig was walking through the mud, his feet getting dirty, but he didn't care.  It was in the sake of adventuring, something he could do any day of the week.  As Jake moved across the marsh, he looked to see if he could find any items, but the mud didn't allow him to find any easily.  He continued down through the swamp, searching still, but finding nothing.  The sounds of his feet squishing in the mud and the popping sound whenever he pulled out were the only ones he could hear, other than his own breathing.

Sosio flew above the weeds that grew about the soft wet ground, sprouting a furry substance that often fell off and drifted, spreading more of the invasive plants.

"This will be a breeze!" Sosio chirped cheerfully. "Now that I can finally fly again, I can literally just fly above this dungeon and make it closer to my goal."

Jake soon heard the chirping of a bird Pokemon, and it was right above him. He looked up to see a Fletchling flying high above him. He knew that it could be dangerous, but he was itching for a fight if it was. "Hey, you!" The Tepig called above him, "Get down here!"

Sosio jerked, startled by the loud sudden voices as she flew. She switched her flapping pattern in order to hover and see who could've said that. A Tepig. At that, the Fletchling flew down and landed on one of the many cattails that crowded the marsh, cocking her head at the pig Pokemon.

"What goes on?" she inquired peculiarly.

His sharp tone somewhat indicated the Tepig wasn't quite the kind of Pokemon Sosio would want to be around, but she always gave everyone a chance. And a second chance. The Fletchling was kind to everyone, but there were some random 'mon she would hate for little reason, but the first meetings were always the same.

Jake looked at the Fletchling, who he was hoping to make his friend. From her voice, he could tell she wasn't one of those feral Pokemon usually found in dungeons. The Tepig, still partly stuck in the muddy ground, explained his situation, this time in a more soothing tone. "Oh, nothing really. I'm just looking for some items." The fire in his eyes starting to appear, he grinned, "By the way, I'm Jake. What's your name, if I could have the pleasure?"

Upon Jake's question, Sosio moved her wing up to her breast in a sort of noble pose.

"I go by Sosio, the greatest Fletchling there is!" she stated at first with her eyes closed, which opened with the excitement.

She then attempted to bow, which only resulted in her losing her balance on the whimsy growth and falling face forward into the muck. She lifted up her head, covered in the gooey substance, spat, and began to laugh. She tried to shake off the mud, but it stuck to her feathers. Looks like she was grounded until she could get this stuff off.

The Tepig chuckled a bit when Sosio fell face first into the murky ground. "The greatest, eh?" Jake grinned a bit, "You've gotta show me why sometime. You should also be a bit more careful, here. The mud is pretty sticky here." The Fire type looked at his own feet, still partially stuck in the mud.

"Well, I've gotta get..." He started to say, only to be stopped by his thoughts, "Hey, you could join me. You must have come here for a reason, and now that you're grounded, you'll have to go through the marsh the same way I have to, anyways. So, what do you say?"

Sosio lifted one leg after the other; an involuntary action due to the sticky feeling on her feet.

"Well, I was the first Fletchling to come here, I discovered a new dungeon, all that cool stuff," she claimed pridefully, knowing she would intrigue some questions.

Upon the invite to join the Tepig down in the muck to explore the marsh, Sosio nodded.

"Of course! What else can I possibly do down here? I'm looking to pass through this dungeon to the other side, where there's a cave, so I heard, but behind it is a forest. That's where I need to go next, in order to get to the mountain range."

It's amazing how much she can learn from one map.

Jake was in awe, not really thinking that Sosio's claims could be falsely told. "You discovered a dungeon?!" His jaw was dropped, but he soon got over it when he heard that she would join him on his quest. "That's great! Now I could get another friend and more help with the swamp!" The Tepig continued moving on, still slowly because of the murk. "Well, let's get going!"

Sosio nodded, proud of her achievement when she discovered Fallen Leaf Copse.

"Yeah, let's get going!"

Noticing that Jake was taking charge, Sosio set her mind to following him. After all, the ground was too mucky to listen to where to go. At that, most of the pokemon he would probably fly over the gross substance, like Sosio would've if that pig hadn't called her down. If she saw anything, she knew she would charge ahead–if it were even possible to run in this sticky stuff.

Soon Jake was starting to realize that Sosio would've been able to fly to her destination if it wasn't for him. As he was moving through the muck and grime, he looked behind him to see the Fletchling following him. "I'm sorry that I brought you down here and that you can't fly anymore." He said with a small frown, "I'm just very energetic when it comes to meeting new Pokemon."

Sosio giggled in response.

"If I hadn't bowed, I wouldn't have fallen. My silly pride-filled self..."

If Sosio were any less childish, she wouldn't be Sosio. What other birds sat on everyone's heads, danced around dungeons, and squawked wildly? The Fletchling knew she was queer and juvenile, but she liked that about herself.

Due to the fact that the bird's knees bent backwards in comparison to most pokemon, including Jake, it was especially hard to trek through the mud. Since Sosio's wings had just healed, they weren't strong enough to pull her out again in order to fly, and even at that, her wings were weighed down by the nutrition-filled sand.

"That too," Jake replied to the Flying type, "But that doesn't mean that I didn't bring you down here." He said with less of a frown. As they walked, the mud got thicker and stickier. It was even hard for them to move, but they were able to manage it. "I think we're almost into feral Pokemon territory, Sosio." Jake stated, him having been here a few times before, "Be careful, you never know what could be lurking around here."

Sosio trudged behind Jake, her feet gradually having a harder and harder time lifting up in the first place. This was definitely far worse than when her wings were broken. At least then, she was able to walk on solid ground.

Once she heard the Tepig's words, the Fletchling looked up from the ground and squinted ahead at the Cattails. Behind them, the tall growth was knocked over into a path they formed. But elsewhere, when they stopped, Sosio was sure she could hear some noises...

The Tepig looked around, for he too heard a noise. He didn't see anything at first, so he put it off as nerves. But soon, Jake was hearing more noises, and he couldn't ignore them anymore.

"Hey, Sosio, did you hear something?" He asked the Fletchling, "I just want to make sure I'm not hearing--- ARG!" The Fire type was sent flying from a Bubble attack, which, although normally very weak, was super effective on the poor Tepig. A Surskit and a Masquerain had appeared from behind the bushes, and they were ready to fight to protect their territory.
