The Second Expedition Attempt - Page 9 Empty
PostSubject: The Second Expedition Attempt   The Second Expedition Attempt - Page 9 EmptySun Jan 04, 2015 8:14 am

First topic message reminder :

Missions:

Jet glanced down at the papers in his paws that he had taken from the Grassveil Guild's bulletin boards. He had been out here on a mission before from the guild but it had ended in a failure. However, this was one Buizel who was determined not to let this one defeat get the better of him. This time, however, Jet had decided to be a little bit more bold. His new mission as to rescue an Egg that had been stolen from a Beautifly. This one was an Outlaw mission, and it was one that he knew that he needed to start doing to try to toughen himself up. Perhaps, he figured, a more drastic situation could spark the strength he needed, rather than sticking with a safer escort mission. His other mission was all-too-familiar, however. It was to rescue a Meowth's "beloved." A side note had been placed on the latter mission's note saying that this "beloved" was actually a bag of money that needed to be returned. He recognized this mission as the very same one that he had failed previously, and this was his chance to try again.

The awkwardness of the second mission aside, Jet knew that these would probably be the perfect missions to take for now. Not only was he slightly familiar with the contents of the Pecha Forest, due to a previous excursion into these woods once before, but it was a very straight-forward mission with very little that would interfere with him, as far as he was aware. Sure, the layout of the woods was sure to change due to its nature as a Mystery Dungeon, but that didn't concern him. He was always good at mapping terrain in his head anyway.

The only thing that worried him was this gang of Pokémon that had supposedly taken the Meowth's bag. Hopefully, he would not have to deal with them directly...but was he actually that lucky...?

In any case, he made his way between the trees, finally entering the Pecha Forest, and started hunting for his mission's objectives. He was slightly nervous to be heading off on a mission by himself...but he wanted to get stronger for when Team Mizuchi took on their first mission together as a full team.

Jet nodded, smiling as he began to take the first step forward. He wished that he hadn't lost Zephyr back in all of the commotion earlier, but at least he had found somebody else to help him keep up with the mission at hand. Had he not come across Aaron, he wouldn't have even managed to get past that Tranquill. In fact, he probably would have gotten robbed himself! And even if he DID manage to win that battle, he'd never finish his next mission without getting knocked out. And now, all thanks to this Deino, even he could feel motivated about going to fight against Pokémon that completely outnumbered him. He wasn't sure what exactly it was, but something about Aaron really made him feel better. He felt like he could finally accomplish something. And whatever it was, it was obviously more than simple battle tactic lessons.

Whatever the case, though, Jet was just extremely happy that the Deino had come to his rescue.

However, the Buizel's elation eventually came to a screeching halt. About five minutes had passed before he suddenly stopped walking, eyes widening slightly as he realized something had stepped out ahead of them. Roughly twenty meters ahead of them, a purple Pokémon roughly the same size as Jet had stepped out. The most striking feature of this other Pokémon was definitely its eyes; gleaming, pale blue gemstones where a normal Pokémon's eyeballs would be. On top of that, it had a large red gemstone on its chest and four sharp-looking, horn-like prongs sticking out from the sides of its head pointing backward. Jet could identify the Pokémon almost immediately as a Sableye...although this one was quite a bit larger than an average Sableye.

"So..." the Sableye murmured hauntingly, a wide grin starting to cross his face. His eyes gleamed in the light as he shifted his gaze to the Buizel in the front. "Where are you boys off to in such a good mood and pockets so heavy...?"

Jet audibly gulped as the Ghost-Dark hybrid Pokémon spoke to him. "A-a-are y-you p-p-part of the S-Sableye bandits that kidnapped a Meowth's girlfriend away...!?" he asked, very clearly nervous and suddenly very uncertain in his demeanor.

At that accusation, the Sableye frowned, almost looking rather confused for a moment. "...Kidnapping?" he repeated. There was silence for a moment, as though he weren't sure what to make of this. But then, he then let out a loud, cackling laugh. "Oh, I see what's going on. Trust me when I say that we're not kidnappers."

And then, a moment later, three more forms dropped from the trees. There were now four Sableye surrounding the two of them, obviously trying to block off their escape routes. They had remained perfectly hidden, not making a sound up until this point. Their sudden appearance caused the Buizel to let out a yelp of alarm. Well, at least these ones were normal sized and didn't look as strong as the one that had stepped before them.

"...But we are probably the Sableye you're looking for." the larger one added before letting out another loud cackle. Once that had finished, though, he shot a quick glance at the Sableye that was behind the two encircled Pokémon. "Oh, and don't bother with that little strategy you two had cooked up before. Our lookout Kageru was so kind as to fill us in."

"heh!" the Sableye behind them, presumably Kageru, laughed. "Yeah, I happened to overhear you runts talking about trying to find us. So I decided to stick around and keep an eye on you for a while."

"'Grats on beating that Tranquill, by the way," the larger Sableye added. "We never liked him anyway."

The Second Expedition Attempt - Page 9 Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Second Expedition Attempt   The Second Expedition Attempt - Page 9 EmptySun Oct 04, 2015 6:09 am

Aaron could only smirk when he heard one of the Sable's voices. Unlike Jet, Aaron confident enough to stand his ground, getting ready for combat. He didn't really say anything while Jet questioned the Dark type. He could only wonder what he meant by not being kidnappers. Before he could ask what that means, three Sable dropped from the tree and surrounded the two of them. However, Aaron wasn't fazed by this at all. "Smart..." He mumbled. So this Pokemon spied on them, and listened in on their plans. So to counter that, they trapped them in the middle of a circle. He had to admit, they had some had the upper-hand, but again. This is just a mind game they're playing. "Listen to me." Aaron whispered to the water type. "Stick to the plan, if some goes wrong, adapt and change tactic, understood?" Aaron ask with that confident smirk. He then turns his head towards the Bandits.

"Heh, pretty clever. You got us figured out." Aaron complimented. "However, this is simply a mind game. Nothing more, nothing less." Aaron took his step towards this Kageru Pokemon, challenging him to counter his statement. "Truth is, you're arrogant, otherwise you would pull off this ambush successfully." Aaron tried to speak as loudly as he could, lecturing the water type further without them knowing. "Ambushes are purely for Mind games only. It just makes us panic and make stupid mistakes. Just like how you surround us right now is a mind game. If you were real combatants, you would of strike us down now while you still had the chance. No talking, no taunting, a quick and swift sneak attack. Again, clever, but your arrogance screwed it up. So you have two choices. One, give up and give us the girl. Or two, fight us. Just so you know, you're not winning this fight."

The Second Expedition Attempt - Page 9 Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Second Expedition Attempt   The Second Expedition Attempt - Page 9 EmptyMon Oct 05, 2015 2:17 am

Jet was clearly frightened at this point. He had expected to come at the gang of Sableye and strike from the outside. That would have made using his speed to use hit and run tactics around them a lot easier since he'd have more room to move. But instead, he was now stuck on the inside, with much fewer movement options. If he got too close to another Sableye, even with boosted speed, he might not be able to get away in time. His nervousness was beginning to rear its ugly head again, noticeable by his slight trembling. He wanted to act and sound brave...but he couldn't do it. How could he? These guys were obviously out of his league...!

But when Aaron finally spoke up again, Jet's eyes widened slightly. he looked at the Deino out of the corner of his eye, listening to what he had to whisper at him. He wanted him to stick to the plan...? H-how could he do that when the situation was much different than before? Plus, they would be expecting the attack, wouldn't they...? And it was easy enough for an experienced adventurer like him to say to simply adapt...he was still new to this whole thing! "B-but-" he started, only to stop when he saw the look on Aaron's face. Hi confidence had not yet faltered. Not even once. Well, if Aaron was so sure that this would still work....

But a moment later, Jet's eyes widened when Aaron turned toward the bandits. And his words clearly surprised not only him, but the large Sableye as well. They all paused, taking in what Aaron had to say. Kageru, who had been behind them, took a hesitant step away when the Deino had taken his step toward him. This Deino's confidence was very hard to stand his ground against.

But then, on the opposite side of where Kageru stood, the larger Sableye let out another loud cackle. "That's quite an intriguing theory you have there. Gotta hand it to you, it makes sense." he said in response. Then, his expression suddenly shifted, from confident and playful...to a rather dark, almost sadistic-looking one. "Or maybe we just like ensnaring our targets and drawing things out. Maybe we like to watch them squirm uselessly as they fall at our feet. Maybe 'quick and swift sneak attacks' aren't really our thing. An ambush is just more fun. So, I'll return the ultimatum to you. Either drop everything you own on the ground now and never come back, or..." He then raised one of his arms, displaying his claws. "...we'll make an example out of you."

Jet let out an audible gulp. He couldn't deny that they had a point. Aaron's argument was fundamentally flawed in one area...he seemed to have worked on an assumption that these guys wanted to only accomplish their goal. But if what this Sableye is saying is true, then they could just want them to be trapped like this for the sake of seeing them trapped. "A-A-Aaron, I-I know from experience that some Pokémon do like to just hurt or mess with people for fun," he murmured lowly, somewhat nervously. It was something he couldn't NOT know from growing up a victim. "A-a-are you really sure w-we can do this...? I-I'm not th-that strong, r-remember...?"

The Second Expedition Attempt - Page 9 Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Second Expedition Attempt   The Second Expedition Attempt - Page 9 EmptyMon Oct 05, 2015 4:43 am

The Deino didn't utter a word while the Sableye behind him spoke, absorbing much of what he said. He claims that they only did this for fun and messing around with helpless Pokemons. The arrogance knows no bounds. The flaws with their tactic was so atrocious, he couldn't help but feel bad about it.  Aaron was quiet for a moment, letting the tension build up. He didn't even respond to the frightened water type as Aaron shook his head in disappointment. "More Arrogance. I thought we was going to win this, but now I'm sure." Aaron deadpanned. "The fact that you guys did an ambush, just for the sake of fun is stupidity. Especially if you deliberately drag it out. It tells me that you're not taking this fight seriously. You think you know you're going to win, just because you think we're some helpless goody two shoes who wants to stop Pokemon like you."

Aaron took another step, his smirk long gone. In its place, a scowl. "You're just bullies, a disgrace to every true combatant out there. You think you can go around stealing from weak Pokemon and ganging up on them is true combat? It's some kind of fun and game? That will be your downfall! Why? Unlike you idiots, I take fighting seriously! Every attack I do, every berries I eat, every movement I make are crucial in combat. I take it seriously because I don't think of it as some kind of game. It allows me to test my limits, fight for what I believe in, and defend myself against someone like you!"

Aaron got to his battle position, getting ready for a four on two fight. "Jet, don't worry about it. These guys are a total joke." He called out, but this time a hint of anger in his voice. "Kageru or whoever you are, I won't tell you again. Stand down now, or we will force you."

The Second Expedition Attempt - Page 9 Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Second Expedition Attempt   The Second Expedition Attempt - Page 9 EmptyTue Oct 06, 2015 3:13 am

If the jeweled eyes were capable of such an action, there would be no doubt that the larger Sableye would be narrowing them, affixing a cold glare onto the Deino. He was clearly not happy with what the Deino had to say. His smirk turned into a darker scowl and his claws curled, flexing themselves in preparation for tearing into this stupid Deino's flesh. This was now something he was going to take personally. No Pokémon ever insulted his gang and got away with it. This was now more than simply defending their prize. Now, it was all about teaching this upstart what it meant to underestimate them just like that.

Jet watched Aaron carefully as he addressed the Sableye again, clearly only egging them on and making them angrier. He wanted to tap his companion on the shoulder and ask him to stop. However, he didn't find a chance. As soon as he had considered it, Aaron's voice had become less of a confident teacher to more of an insulted explorer. In all honesty, the subtlety of the anger in his tone actually made it somewhat scarier in his opinion. Of course, it certainly didn't help that Deino was a Dark Pokémon, which were generally a bit scarier in the first place to him. He even flinched slightly when Jet told him not to worry about the situation in such a stern way. He said nothing in response, but turned to look at one of the other two Sableye that hadn't moved or said anything yet, on the right. He guessed that he had no choice at this point.

Meanwhile, the larger Sableye scowled and stepped forward. "Well, I think you take things too seriously then," he muttered. "Fine. You want me to be serious? Then come at me and I'll fight you. I'd like nothing more to knock you out and show you who the real idiot here is. That is, if you've got the guts to actually back up your threats against me. I promise you that I won't even need my gang to cut you down to size."

Kageru stood his ground this time, though. He scowled, glaring at Aaron. Even he seemed to take offense at his words. And just like his leader, he wanted to make this Deino pay.

The Sableye was angry, he could tell in his voice. Aaron didn't think that this would go well as it did. He was mostly speaking out of anger. However, maybe now he can use this situation to his advantage now. Aaron stretched his neck and smiled again. "That's more like it. I expect you to fight as though you mean to kill, holding back would be an insult." He took his step towards the larger Pokemon, eager to fight. Jet won't get any combat experience just by watching the Deino, but hopefully he can inspire him to fight. "Sorry, jet. I promise, we'll try that little technique when we get the chance." He called out to the water type. He then focuses his attention on the Sableye. "Right. If you win, I'll give you all my stuff and I'll turn a blind eye. If I win, you give us the Pokemon you kidnap. That's it."

Aaron was a little unease. He asked for a one on one fight, but he knew better. Whatever if he was being genuine about it or not, he has to be ready for his other gang member to fight him. Hopefully, jet realizes this as well. Without hesitation, Aaron charge straight towards the Lager Sableye, his electrical teeth bared. When he was close enough, he chomp on the Pokemon. He wasn't really attacking him per se. He was baiting him to reveal one his move he should look out for.

The Second Expedition Attempt - Page 9 Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Second Expedition Attempt   The Second Expedition Attempt - Page 9 EmptyTue Oct 06, 2015 4:27 am

"Hmph," the Sableye grunted, stepping toward the Deino again. He had every intention to insult this Deino all he wanted. Perhaps at the end, when this weakling was lying at his feet, he could claim that he was holding back the whole time, whether it was true or not. Whatever it took to make this guy feel even worse. He scowled slightly when the Deino issued out his conditions for their battle. He raised his brow slightly once again when he mentioned this Pokémon that they had kidnapped. And even though his anger, he allowed a small smirk to appear on his face. "Heh...right," he murmured. "Sure. If you somehow manage to beat me, I'll release whatever Pokémon I've taken captive. But trust me...that's not going to matter to you in the slightest." He then crouched down slightly, readying his claws. "Especially not when you're begging for mercy."

Jet looked at Aaron and listened to him as he spoke. The Deino apologized to him, but truthfully he was grateful that he wasn't going to have to fight if all things went well. But of course, even he was not naïve enough to believe that they were going to get out of this without taking down all four of these Sableye. Even if they COULD trust this Sableye to give an honorable fight, he doubted that these other three would just stand there. He needed to be ready to battle anyway, at even a moment's notice. And so, his body was tense, waiting for the inevitable struggle to come.

When the Deino finally charged him, the large Sableye was ready. He held his ground, preparing to make his counterattack. If Deino was capable of seeing, he would have noticed the sly smirk appearing on the sableye's face. He then quickly raised his arm...and when Aaron finally got close enough and reached out to chomp on him, he brought his arm down, attempting to smash the Dark-type Pokémon's skull before the Thunder Fang connected...with a powerful Brick Break! "Heh! One advantage of being a bandit is that sometimes...you get to steal VERY useful items like TM's. Wouldn't you agree?"

As Aaron predicted, The Sable did an attack. However, Aaron couldn't react fast enough from the Dark type's Brick break and ultimately the move connected, resulting Aaron collapsing on his stomach from the sheer force with a thud. The move certainly took the air out of him, and since it was a fighting move, it hurt Aaron a lot more than it would on jet. However, he still had a lot of fight in him. The Dragon type slowly stood up off the dirt, stretching his neck to ease the pain Kageru had caused him. "Heh, in combat, you do what you can to beat your opponent, may it be beating them into unconsciousness, getting them to back off. Stealing is one of them." Jet wouldn't notice since Aaron was in front of him, but Aaron was smirking. "While stealing is a viable way to win a fight, It depends on the situation. In this one, you're in the wrong. However, I digress on what I really wanted to say."

Aaron suddenly took a few step backwards, getting ready to attack. "Combat Pragmatist. Remember that word." The Dragon type said, just before charging a blue energy like orb from of his mouth and fired at his opponent.

The Second Expedition Attempt - Page 9 Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Second Expedition Attempt   The Second Expedition Attempt - Page 9 EmptyFri Oct 23, 2015 7:02 am

Jet gasped slightly as he saw the Sableye's Brick Break slam powerfully into his companion's skull. "A-Aaron!" he called out fearfully. This wasn't good. The Ghost-type bandit must have stolen a TM from somebody at some earlier point in time. And worst of all, it was a move that worked perfectly on Dark-type Pokémon like Aaron. But that wasn't even the end of it. That was just one attack using one stolen TM. The Sableye still had three other moves up its proverbial sleeves. What if he had other, even more powerful TM moves just waiting to be unleashed...? And then there were the three others around them. Did they have a TM move as well? Maybe they had bitten off more than they could chew. "H-hey, m-m-maybe we should..." he began to murmur lowly, feeling the panic starting to set in. But Aaron's voice interrupted him, causing him to stop and listen.

The Sableye sneered down at Aaron as his Brick Break scored a direct hit. This "fight" wasn't going to last long. This Deino didn't stand a chance against him. And even if he did, he still had three other Sableye more than willing to take him the rest of the way down. He was more than happy to drive that all-knowing talk right out of that Dragon-type's body. And when the Deino began to rise back to his feet again, he was prepared to strike again. But not immediately. No, he wanted the dragon to squirm before getting knocked out. He'd done nothing but bad-mouth him ever since they'd shown up. And he was going to pay for it.

When Aaron spoke, Jet swallowed hard, looking carefully at the Deino. He couldn't see his face from h ere, but he could certainly feel the confidence coming off of him. He wasn't sure how Aaron could still be so calm after getting hit like that, but it certainly helped ease his nerves slightly. It was almost as though Aaron's courage was contagious. The more he watched and hung around with him, the more confident and less tense he became. He wasn't quite sure he agreed with his methodology, but that was hardly important right now.

"Oh, I'm in the wrong am I?" the large Sableye repeated with a slight snort. A moment later, his foe had taken a few steps back, clearly preparing some kind of attack. He allowed Aaron to say his last few words, watching his movements carefully to predict the attack. And finally, he saw the opening he wanted and lunged after the dragon at a surprising speed. He thrust his claw forward, delivering a strong physical punch to the Deino's chest just before the blue orb could be fired off. His Sucker Punch was not going to be that effective type-wise. But if he was lucky, he might force Aaron to stop his attack short.

If the attack did not stop, however, he would have no choice but to fall victim to the attack. The move would strike true, and he would get blasted backward by the energy. He would let out a grunt of pain, righting himself before colliding with the ground and landing on his feet again, though a few feet farther away than he had been at the start of the exchange.

"...Combat pragmatist, huh...?" the Sableye would murmur either way. "Heh. You sure you belong on that little runt's side? If you'll do anything to stay on top in a fight, then shouldn't you join the side that has the best chance of winning...?"

PostSubject: Re: The Second Expedition Attempt   The Second Expedition Attempt - Page 9 EmptySat Oct 24, 2015 7:25 pm

Aaron couldn't react to the Sableye's blinding speed and bashed at the Deino chest. Fortunately for Aaron, he could resist this attack and thus his attack didn't get interrupted. The Dragon type fired his Dragon Rage at his opponent at point blank range, blasting the Ghost type back. Aaron kept his smirk as the Sableye got to his feet. Jet no doubt disagree with the whole "Combat Pragmatist" Thing, but that is a sad truth. If you choice Honor and fairness in battle, you'll lose against someone willing to do everything in his power to win. If Aaron's opponent called him out of his hiding spot, he would wait until he gets his chance to strike, rather than honoring his request. Aaron would be a coward by many, but in truth he's being smart.

His thought process was interrupted when the Sableye comment something that caused him to sigh. "Idiots... There is a difference between wanting to be on the winning side, vs, I'll win no matter what." Aaron deadpanned. "We want the Pokemon you have. You're blocking our way. I'm going to make sure that I get that Pokemon, and while I hope it doesn't come to that, I WILL Obliterate you." Aaron was holding back, mostly because if he did end up beating this Pokemon, the others will sure to retaliate. Unless Jet was confident with his skills, They might lose this fight. Aaron didn't want to do this, he even made a promise not to do it again. However, he might have to intimate the Other Pokemon to not attack... Let's say, Aaron's own Mind Game.

Before he did anything, Aaron lifted his back legs to signal the Water type, spelling out the word, "Mind Game" It's vague, but hopefully he'll figure out what Aaron is trying to do. "You know, out of all the outlaws I fought over the years, you're the most, Arrogant." Aaron smirked in a sinister smile, slowly stepping towards the Ghost type. His tone suddenly change from confident, to more of a dark, aggressive demeanor. This was an act obviously, he wasn't going to do anything malicious. Hopefully, Jet would see that too. "You and your little gang think you're all high and mighty. Thinking you can get away with this without being punished, huh? Tsk, Tsk Tsk. You never considered the price of getting caught, do you?"

The Sableye remained quiet as Aaron attempted to step forward and intimidate him. He glanced over at his companions, all three other Sableye exchanging concerned or otherwise worried looks. It would seem that this Deino's intimidation tactics were at least working to some extent. The larger Sableye frowned, looking at the Dark/Dragon hybrid Pokémon's expression sternly. So there were two possibilities that could be going on right now. On one hand, there was the possibility that this Deino was just as aggressive and forceful as he was trying to seem to be. And he had to admit, if he wasn't like this, the Deino was quite the talented actor. He clearly had the rest of his gang fooled. But on the other hand was the possibility that this Deino was doing just that; putting on an act of some kind. His goal would obviously be to intimidate them and back down. And if this was the case, the only reason he would do that is if he was worried that he would lose the fight. And the thought caused a slight smirk to cross his lips.

So, he was arrogant, was he? Well then. He supposed he knew exactly which possibility to believe then, didn't he? "Heheh...well then, if I'm so arrogant..." he replied. "Then I suppose I should believe that you're only attempting to intimidate us because you're afraid that we'll defeat you. Maybe you are pretty strong. But you can't beat all four of us. And even if you aren't lying through your teeth...you would still have to be able to beat us to do anything at all." He then looked behind Aaron, looking at the Buizel behind him. "...Besides. I doubt that a coward like him would hang around with you for this long if you were really so overbearing."

Jet gulped slightly when he was directly mentioned. He had already figured out Aaron's bluff. After all, the two had already battled with that Tranquill earlier. If Aaron had a darker side like this, odds were that he would've shown some signs of it back then too, even if not to this extent. After all, that wasn't an easy battle either. He just hoped that his lack of a shocked expression wouldn't tip them off to the truth completely. Still, he remained quiet. He didn't want to say anything and end up accidentally saying something in a way that would cause Aaron's gambit to fail.

Aaron snickered as Kageru called out his bluff. The other Sableyes were getting worried, but apparently the leader isn't convinced. He just had to fix that, now does he? "You're right. It's a fool's errand to even think I can take all of you on. Hell, even if I did beat you one on one, that isn't going to stop the rest of your little gang from attacking us." And then, there was a long silence, adding more dramatic tension in the air. "Tell me, have any of you seen... Death?" Aaron grins evilly. "I have, and let me tell you. It isn't pretty. But here's the funny part." Aaron soon started to pace around the circle, stopping at the nearest Sableye. "The more you seen death, the easier it is to get used to it." Aaron realizes this was getting a bit morbid. After all, who even talks about stuff like this? Mad Pokemons, that's who. it was perfect!

Aaron kept on pacing, making sure he made every Pokemon in the area are uncomfortable. "I want to know, how many Pokemon did you... Get rid of? I mean, you are Outlaws after all. So this type of stuff would be common for Pokemon like you." Of course, that obviously isn't necessarily true. He just wanted to see how the Outlaws react to this. The Deino eventually walked back to his partner, placing his paw on his side to reassure him that nothing wasn't going to happen, in the outlaw's mind, to Jet at least. "I would never act this way while I'm with my friend unless the situation calls for it. I only really do this to idiots like you."

Kageru and the other three Sableye all continued to watch Aaron. Kageru allowed his smirk to widen slightly when the Deino admitted that he wouldn't be able to take on all four of them. So, in the end that was it, wasn't it? He was just trying to scare them away from just knocking him out right then and there. He knew that they couldn't win against this gang. And now, he was trying to find another way out. The three other Sableye members exchanged quick looks, actually seeming slightly reassured by their leader's assertion. Or at least, they did until Aaron began to speak yet again. And then, their uneasy expression returned all too quickly. Not a single one of them had expected the Deino to suddenly start talking about death as though it were an everyday occurrence. But...what exactly did that mean? Did this guy actually...see or deal with death consistently...? W-was this Dragon Pokémon insane...!?

Jet watched Aaron carefully and felt a shiver run down his spine. He knew it was all fake in the back of his mind. But still, even he couldn't help but feel uncomfortable by his companion's words. Sure, maybe they couldn't win in a battle, but was all of this really necessary? Even he was starting to get freaked out by the Deino's demeanor. Not even the Deino's reassuring paw was enough to steady his building nerves. Still, he tried his best not to show it. All he knew was that he just wanted to get this mission finished as quickly as possible now.

Kageru scowled when Aaron finished talking. The larger Sableye glared at the Deino, knowing exactly what he was trying to do.

"U-um, Boss...?" the Sableye scout from before murmured, the one behind Jet. "M-maybe we should-"

"Shut up!" Kageru snapped, glaring across at the scout before turning his gaze back to Aaron. "You've already admitted that you don't stand a chance. You don't have any room to intimidate here. You're the one that's weak. Even if you were as dangerous as you seem, you don't have what it takes to follow up. WE are the strong ones. We're the ones with the advantage."

Aaron raised an Eyebrow as the leader continued to call out his bluff. He certainly is a smart one, but that isn't going to stop the Deino from continuing his threats. Then he remembered the time he did this last time. He made a bad impersonation of himself by doing that, and he regretted it ever since. However, that's only because he took it way too far as to hurt a Pokemon who was confused with his life. He really hoped Jet would still like him after this. "Yeah, I don't stand a chance, but after I kill you, I don't think your little gang could stomach the thought to fight me anymore." Aaron mentally gulped as he said this. Jet would Definitely NOT Approve of this, but hopefully he understands why he's doing this. "I'm giving you a chance here, Kageru, you really REALLY don't want me to resort to that, do you? I'm sure your friends don't want to see me putting you into so much pain and misery. Give us the Pokemon and lets keep this whole thing between us. We get the Pokemon, and you get to walk free without dying, and we'll never talk about what happened here again."

Aaron rubbed Jet's back up and down. "Sorry, didn't think I'd resort to that. I hope you understand, in our situation right now, we couldn't win this." Aaron whispered to Jet. If the leader still calls out to his bluff, the Deino still had one trick left. Hopefully Jet can go along with it.

Kageru smirked as Aaron paused for the moment. Clearly, he had hit the nail on the head. These guys were nothing compared to them. They had the advantage and could easily stomp these two travelers. That Deino didn't stand a chance against him, and that Buizel likely couldn't even beat just one of his subordinates, let alone the other two. But when the Deino began to speak up again, still sounding just as confident and ready to kill as before, he hesitated and started to reconsider his options. If this Dragon Pokémon knew he was going to lose, then how could he possibly still have such confidence that he could kill him? He scowled, gaze narrowing slightly as he glared at Aaron. What was this Pokémon's deal? Was he stronger than he seemed? If they did fight, would he really kill him?

"...Hmph," he muttered at last once Aaron had finished. "You sure sound like you have room to squirm, despite your weakness." He cast a quick glance to his side, at one of the Sableye who was standing to his right, closer to Jet. And then a sly smirk appeared on his face. He had just had a wonderful idea. "Heheh...well then, if you're so willing to kill me, then let's see you try." He then pointed a claw forward, directly at Aaron. "But you seem to care an awful lot about that runt beside you for somebody so ready to kill. And since I still have some doubts on whether or not you can actually do it, let me give you some motivation." He then moved his arm so that he was now pointing directly to the Deino's side at the nervous Jet. "...I want you to try to kill me before one of my subordinates takes him out. Kill me, my gang will let you go. But take too long or fail...and it's your partner that pays the price."

Jet, who had been looking down even as Aaron rubbed his back in comfort, was suddenly taken aback when he was dragged into the conversation. "Wh-what...!?" he suddenly exclaimed. The Sableye wanted Aaron to kill him...? W-was this just the Sableye calling the Deino's bluff, truly believing that Aaron wouldn't have what it takes? And then there was that extremely vague wording of "taking him out." D-did that mean that they were going to try to kill him...? "N-n-now wait a second, I-I don't w-want to-"

"Too bad," the Sableye sneered, looking quickly back at Aaron. "What will it be? Are you going to kill me to protect your little companion? But then how will he look at you from now on, knowing that you've just killed somebody in front of him? And that's all assuming you have the strength and the guts." Truth be told, it was just as Jet suspected. The Sableye had decided to call Aaron's bluff. But he took it one step further. He wanted to see to what level this Deino would take his supposed bluff if he threatened his friend. This deino was an interesting Pokémon...and now, he wanted to test him.
