When the Sun Rises... (Open)

Across the sandy dunes and stretches of seemingly normal desert, the rising sun had peaked just over the horizon, dyeing the desert golden in it’s morning light. The sky was a light, soft pink. The only disturbance came from the dunes, which cast long, faint shadows over the golden desert when the light hit them.

A small Vulpix looked over the sight with an unreadable expression. Job number two, and it had taken her to Scorchfall Desert. She had to admit, she hadn’t been here before... And that was probably why she had underestimated this place. Just coming here had tired her out (although the Oran Berry she had scarfed down recently had helped). The fact that she needed to move quickly hadn’t helped save her energy, since she had to get here before night fell.

A Solrock was in this Mystery Dungeon, somewhere. And she needed to find, and save it, before a Lunatone it was trying to save took it out. It was a bit of a sad tale, honestly, but the Vulpix supposed things like that came with the career. Though she felt a bit of sympathy for her client, she wasn’t going to cry them a river - she didn’t know them personally. She was just here to do a job.

Shifting her shoulders to adjust her bag, Lumina looked out over the golden desert. She needed to find Solrock before nightfall, and while it was only sunrise now, her time wasn’t infinite. She needed to make tracks, and save the Solrock from their own doomed quest. ... A bit morbid, wasn’t this?


Energy: 14 (20 - 16 from entering the Mystery Dungeon = 4, + 10 from eating an Oran Berry = 14)

Lumina had managed to shake off the Sandile, who was now snapping it's jaws at her wildly, trying to use Bite again. She fired an Ember or two, but it hardly seemed to harm the small crocodile. Then the Sandile suddenly turned around and kicked sand in her face, and the Vulpix gritted her teeth, having gotten some in her eyes. While she couldn't see clearly and was trying to blink it out, the Sandile took it's chance and used Bite, sinking it's fangs into her leg again.

Energy: 13

Noel had managed to get.over as she saw the sandile hitting her she rushed over and grabbed the Pokemon by the tail it was shocked though it was feral he had not expected Noel to take out the sandslash as fast as she did it opened its mouth slightly giving Noel all the time she needed as she threw it by the tail luckily it hit the sandslash that had not been knocked out but launched slightly far away as it hits the sandslash just as it had emerged from it's hole "man I'm lucky"

Noel then turned to lumina "you good" she says with a worried time bites were pretty bad and sandiles were rude "if so then switch opponents" Noel added quickly

"I'm fine, but maybe we should just run." Lumina added, watching the Sandslash and the Sandile carefully as she blinked the sand out of her eyes. She wouldn't be taken by surprise again. "After being thrown aside like that, they might not follow us. Plus, we've got a Solrock to find." If only she had saved the Petrify Orb, she could've used it now to get away. Well, hindsight was 20/20.

Noel pet out a small growl she didn't like letting people like that get away but luminaries l was right they had a mission and though she didn't want to let them get away she pushed that aside as she noticed they were backing up Noel turned around and walked to the middle of the area taking the items she showed them a cold glance that made the two feral Pokemon back up.

"Yes let's go we have.to save them" Noel responded as she started walking opposite of the two feral Pokemon.

Lumina nodded, making a swift pace away from the two feral Pokemon. She squinted, sure that she could see something in the nearby distance. ... and was it levitating? "Speaking of the Solrock... Noel, I think I see it over there. Can you check with your aura vision?" She asked, hoping that it was the Pokemon they were looking for.

Noel had used her aura sense and looked right at them her eyes staring right at the levitating Pokemon as Noel stops her sense and looks over to lumina "I think it is whoever they are they are not feral" Noel replied as she turned to walk there the sun was still low in the sky and they might of just found who they were looking for seems like a good thing though Noel kept up her guard just incase

Lumina nodded, that was a good sign. She kept up her pace, approaching the stranger - and sure enough, they were a Solrock. "Excuse me!" She called, and the floating sun-shaped rock seemed to turn in her direction, but made no move to follow. "I'm from an Exploration Team. I'm here to help." She added. Only then did the Solrock start to hover towards them.

"What's an Exploration Team doing here? Are you on a mission?" The Solrock asked curiously. Lumina nodded simply, and it's face seemed to light up. "That's great! I know this is out of the blue, but you need to help me. It's my friend, Lunatone! I just can't seem to get through to him lately, and then he ran here, to Scorchfall... I know he needs my help!"

Noel was right next to lumina as she was about to get the floating rocks attention lumina had beaten her to it as she listened to what lumina said decided to add her intro "I'm Noel a wanderer just along for the ride" she said blankly

Noel looked at the soulrock thinking that he was being a little Moronic he could not know if the lunatone needed him or if he left to hide himself though she didn't voice her opinion

"Yes... I'm the only one really on an Exploration Team. Apologies, Noel. My name is Lumina." She introduced herself to the Solrock, dipping her head politely. This was going to get awkward quickly, wasn't it? "We're here to help you."

"Help me...?" This seemed to confuse the Solrock. "What would I need help with? I can manage this Mystery Dungeon just fine, see? I've been here since morning looking for Lunatone. ... unless you're here to help me look for him?" It wondered, brightening up once more.

Noel scratched the back of her head she shouldn't of said that things were getting pretty awkward fast considering she was lead to believe that his friend was going to kill him as Noel looked at lumina she inched closer and whispered so only she could hear her "so what do we do should we try to help or tell him his friends gone feral" she says either way would be.pretty strange well there was one way Noel and lumina could knock him out but that seemed a little extreme

Lumina took a deep breath, trying to act diplomatically about this. She looked over at Noel and silently shrugged, unsure of what, exactly, she planned on saying. "Listen... I don't know your friend, Lunatone, but I do know he's in serious trouble. I hate to say it, but I think you're in over your head with this." She let that sink in, hoping it didn't sound too insensitive. "You need to get out of here, me and Noel can escort you out."

Noel nodded agreeing with her "ya it would be best just to head out" she said silently but loud enough to be here she knew how that felt to want to save someone but he was in over his head with this she didn't know where the lunatone was but she felt like leaving it alone would be best

The Solrock was silent, looking at the sands. It sighed, it's cheerful expression fading. "... I know. ... I'll go with you..." The Rock type nodded as well as a floating rock could. It's black and red eyes narrowed slightly, and it looked over at the two explorers. "... If you promise to save Lunatone in my place." It added, and on that, it wouldn't budge. If it couldn't save it's old friend, then someone would need to.

Noel looked down and then at lumina she knew that they had two choices it was either knock him out or try to stop a Pokemon from becoming feral Noel just looks down they would have to wait till nightfall until he woke up they could try to find him now but she could not sense Pokemon well while they were sleeping "I think we should at least try" Noel said to lumina he was not going to budge and fighting a Pokemon that was not feral is something Noel hates doing

"I can't promise we'll succeed, but I swear we'll try." Lumina told the Solrock, hoping that would be good enough for it. She really didn't want to have to knock it out, even though the option had crossed her mind. But if it came down to that, it was to save the Solrock's life... she hoped, once more, that her answer would do. "But first, we need to get you out of here."

The Solrock had an unreadable expression before it finally nodded, although a bit reluctantly. "... okay." It said simply, looking between the Vulpix and the Riolu. "I'll come along. I'm ready to go now. Just keep your word and come back for Lunatone." It said once more, trying to tell if the two were being honest or not.
