PostSubject: Definitely Not Candy Crusher   Definitely Not Candy Crusher EmptyThu Oct 02, 2014 5:45 pm

Akuroma yawned a bit as he made his way to Blackmist Mountain. The sun had yet to rise over the mountains and the Kirlia had spent much of his night planning out this hike through the dungeon. Surprisingly, Akuroma rarely approached the dungeon. After his two failed hikes through it with Enzu the Pawniard and Cracker the Aipom respectively, he's been avoiding coming back to it as much as possible. Sadly he could no longer do that. The Black Spear Mountain Range was showing less and less interesting finds thanks to him living there and he still felt that he was nowhere near ready to tackle the Obsidian Cervice.

So here he was, standing in front of Blackmist Mountain. At least this time should be easier than the last two with him being evolved. Perhaps not having someone around that he'd have to watch out for would provide better results. Not to mention he'd have no need to share anything he might find on unsuspecting Pokémon on the mountain. With another yawn and a small stretch, the Kirlia began his hike up the mountain.

Amazing! Absolutely Amazing! Those were the only words running through Brian's mind as he gazed at the sight of Blackmist Mountain. One location that he always wanted to visit was a mountain like this. Most of the coolest stories he had ever heard from his parents took place in mountainous terrain. As soon as he heard that there was a mountain around the area, Brian immediately dashed off in that direction. Now that he finally got the chance to see one, he was glad that if met his expectations.

The insanely large size, the vastness, the swirls of mist surrounding it, simply everything about this place was incredible to look at. Out of all of the places he has traveled too on this journey so far, Brian had definitely found a favorite. "Wow, this place looks so cool! I'm getting so excited!" Brian said before he dashed off towards the mountain, wondering what awaited him in this place.

Akuroma blinked as he heard something behind him. It sounded like someone was talking, but he couldn't quite make out the words with the distance he made from the foot so far. However the sound of something running up the mountain was as clear as day and the last time something came running at him, Akuroma got a face full of Rampardos. Turning towards the direction the sound was coming from, Akuroma swung his arm back. A glowing green energy began to flicker across his arm, the light creating a dim light through the mist as Akuroma held the Psyshock, ready to blast it at whoever appeared to be charging at him.

As he dashed forward towards the mountain, Brian saw a small glowing light in the distance. He couldn't tell specifically what it was from this distance, but he had the hunch that it must have been another Pokemon. With the dark mist shrouding this area, it couldn't have been some object reflecting the sun's rays or something like that. Therefore, the only other thing it could be was another Pokemon using some kind of flashy move. This both intrigued him due to the potential that thiscould be an awesome display, but at the same feeling a bit cautious due to the possibility of it being a wild Pokemon. However, his childish curiosity made him think more about getting a potential friend. So he stopped running and tried to communicate to whoever what over there.

"Hello? Someone over there? Hello?" Brian said, trying to verify who the Pokemon over in the distance was. Even if this could pit him in danger if it was a wild Pokemon, Brian was confident that he could handle it.

"Yeah, who're you?" Akuroma responded to the voice calling out from the mist, his psyshock still ready to launch out towards the sound of the Pokémon. He slowly began to approach the direction the voice, seeing as it sounded as if it were from a child. He had no idea why someone so young would be here unless it was a cocky young explorer. If anything he could use the explorer as a distraction in case they were attacked and possibly take any items of value from it.

"I'm just a normal guy who wants to explore Blackmist Mountain. How about you?" Brian said cheerfully, knowing from the response he heard that whoever the Pokemon over there was definitely wasn't wild. However, he had no idea why it would be using some flashy move for no reason. It obviously wasn't fighting another Pokemon as if it was, it's response wouldn't have been so nonchalant and there would be more sounds. Maybe it saw Brian as a threat for some reason. While he did love to fight, he wouldn't just randomly attack someone unless it was a wild Pokemon that could potentially do the same thing to him.

Speaking of wild Pokemon, Brian heard a growl coming from the direction he saw the glowing light the other Pokemon was. He couldn't tell specifically what it was, but he knew that it was trouble. "Watch out, I hear a wild Pokemon over there." Brian said, warning the other Pokemon about what he heard.

Akuroma frowned a bit at the Pokémon's response. To be in such a dangerous place yet be cheerful about it? It was either brave, stupid, or both. "I'm a researcher. I'm studying the dungeons within these mountains and I just so happened to be beginning my study on this one," he said as he lowered his arm, the glow disappearing as he waved some of the mist away, finding himself staring at a Chimchar.

Akuroma turned as he heard the growl, the Chimchar warning him of it at the same time. Pulling his fist back again, his arm erupted into green sparks, the Kirlia preparing a Thunder Punch to greet whoever was approaching.

After a while, he saw the glowing light disappear as the other Pokemon responded, with Brian being intrigued by his researcher status. He knew how cool it was to see new places, learn new things, and other such activities, so it definitely sounded like a fun job to have. With the light not blocking his vision, Brian could finally see who the Pokemon was. It looked like a smaller, more feminine form of a Gallade he saw his father battle against in the past, most likely a pre evolution. He then saw the Pokemon, who he assumed was a girl due to the appearance, begin to generate electricity around it's small hand. From what Brian could tell, it seemed to be using some king of electric variant of his Fire Punch, which immediately made him amazed.

"That's so cool. An electric version of my Fire Punch." Brian said, staring at the move and momentarily forgetting the danger that the two were potentially in.

"It's called Thunder Punch," he said as he threw his fist forward as a Mightyena leapt at them. The Mightyena's mouth clamped down onto his fist, both Pokémon taking damage from the Bite and Thunder Punch attacks. Akuroma grimaced, trying to tug his first out of the Mightyena's grip. When the Pokémon refused to let go, Akuroma's other fist sparked in electricity. Slamming his fist into the side of the Mightyena's head, Akuroma laid down a barrage of Thunder Punches until the Mightyena finally let go of his fist with a yelp, fleeing from the scene.

"Pitiful," Akuroma said as he began to walk up the mountain again, not even paying the Chimchar any attention has he stepped onto something much smoother and rounder than the mountain's normal terrain. Looking down, Aku found two orbs hidden just under the settled dirt of the mountain.

"Thunderpunch huh? That's so cool!" Brian said, excited to see a move that was both familiar yet foreign to him. It was certainly effect as it was able to fend off the wild hyena like Pokemon with just a few hits. Either it  was really weak, or this Pokemon was really strong, though Brian assumed the latter immediately as it would be more fun to meet another strong Pokemon.

"Wow, you took care of that wild Pokemon like it was nothing. You must be strong." Brian said, walking up to his potential companion. He then held his fist up and it suddenly bursted into flames. "Look, it's the same as your Thunderpunch, but with fire instead." Brian said, giving a warm and innocent smile to the feminine Pokemon.

Akuroma rubbed his hand as he looked back at the Chimchar, who was now complementing him. "I suppose I am strong compared to some Pokémon, but there's still many Pokémon stronger than myself," he said before the Chimchar showed him it's Fire Punch. He nodded a bit as the pain finally subsided from his hand. "Yes, yes, I know of Fire Punch, I have an appointment with Grassveil's dojo to learn it myself," he responded before shifting his bag on his shoulder, "Now then, if you'll excuse me, I have a dungeon to research." He then turned from the Chimchar and continued up the mountain, noticing yet another orb and a TM where he found the first two orbs.

"Oh, you're gonna learn Fire Punch too? That will be cool, having two different elemental punch moves. Maybe I should stop by the Dojo at some point." Brian said, thinking about the possibilities presented by having both Fire and Thunderpunch available in his arsenal. "You mind if I join you? I'm gonna be exploring this place too and having another person around makes things more fun. What do you say?" Brian said, trying to make friends with this feminine researcher. He figured that since they were both doing the same thing that there was no reason that they shouldn't team up.

However, the team up would have to wait as Brian could see another Pokemon in the distance dashing towards them. "Look, another Pokemon other there, I've got this one." Brian said, leaping up into the air and sending a rain of Embers at the white furred Pokemon, stopping it in it's tracks. As he landed back on the ground, Brian raised his fist as it ignited once again and smacked the wild Pokemon right in the face with his Fire Punch, being to dazed from the Embers to avoid it. It was sent a few feet back and ran away as the previous Pokemon had. "Ah man, I wanted to finish that fight." Brian said, feeling a little dissapointed that his opponent ran away.

Akuroma shrugged, "The Pokémon this low on the mountain tend to be skittish, they run when they know they can be injured by an opponent. The higher we climb the more dangerous the Pokémon are." With the threat now gone, Akuroma began to climb up the mountain again. He pulled out a sitrus berry as he did, munching on it to help in healing his hand. As he headed up, he noticed yet another TM, which is promptly picked up and placed into his bag. "Hm, lots of items lying around now."

"Is that so? Well then, I'll just have to go higher up in the mountain to find a more fun opponent." Brian said, excited to know that there were more powerful pokemon here that those cowardly ones that came up before. It was always more fun for Brian when the opponent was more powerful. "Hey wait up." Brian said as he started running to the researcher to catch up with him. He didn't know much about this Pokemon yet, but it seemed interesting enough for Brian to want to make friends with it.

As he kept running, Brian could see some on the ground in the corner of his eye. He stopped for a second to see what it was, and then grew a large smile on his face when he realized what he found. "CANDY!" Brian yelled, immediately picking up his findings with great swiftness. He usually didn't have a particular affinity to any specific foods, but his childish demeanor made candy a top priority anytime he found it.

Akuroma blinked and looked back at the Chimchar as it yelled out about candy. "What're you doing grabbing that? You don't know where it's been," he said, not paying attention to what was above him as he scolded the Chimchar. That proved to be a mistake as a rock slammed into him, a small rockslide rolling down the mountain towards the two Pokémon. As Akuroma tried to regain his footing while pushing the rocks out of his way, another Mightyena pounced onto him, the two Pokémon rolling down the mountain some from the force of the impact.

Akuroma did his best to dodge the hyena Pokémon's bites, but the Mightyena soon caught Akuroma's shoulder between it's jaws. The Kirlia cried out in pain as he brought his fist back, it sparking with electricity as he brought it down onto the Mightyena's face, trying to punch this one off like the first.
