Tip, tap. Tip, tip, tap.

Marion would have strenuously objected being called as such, but right now, she was being a bit of a coward. Not intentionally, of course. But she was being a coward all the same. The Mawile had spent the last fifteen minutes staring over at the next hill, where the building of the Guild rose up on the horizon, comfortably away from the main square of Grassveil Town itself. And now she was tapping her claws on a bottle she held close to her chest - a bottle stuffed full of vinegar and peppers.

Tip, tap. Tip, tip, tap.

"Okay. You can do this," she mumbled to herself. The large maw on the back of her head made a gargling whimper, and she rolled her eyes. "Seriously? For real? You're going to be like that? We can do this. We can do this!" She all but shouted to herself, pumping her arms in the air before realizing that people were likely to be around to spot her. Then it was back to tapping the bottle of pepper vinegar.

Tip, tip, tap - pwOP.

With one swift jerk, she ripped the cork out of the neck of the bottle, only to bring it to her lips and take a gulp. Apparently it was formidable enough to make Marion squeeze her eyes tightly shut, wrinkling her nose, the great big mouth on the back of her head twisting into a grimace. After a few long moments she splutteringly exhaled. "Phew!" A few cross-eyed blinks, and she recorked the pepper sauce with much more firm sense of purpose. "Okay. OKAY. Let's do this."

The great mouth at the back of her head panted, its long pink tongue drooping out between teeth to nearly touch the ground.

Even as she broke out into a sweat - from pepper sauce as much as nervousness - she marched down the interconnecting valley and then up to the Guild itself, stomping her feet and swinging her arms as she held her head high. "Hello?! Hello!! Is anyone there?! I'd like to register for the Exploration Guild, thank you!"

A Little Liquid Courage Empty
PostSubject: Re: A Little Liquid Courage   A Little Liquid Courage EmptySat Jan 18, 2014 12:58 am

Luckily for the Steel type, the guildmaster had just returned from visiting a relative of hers in the nearby town of Rainfront, approaching the building she knew so well with a smile on her face.
But between all the familiar faces, her many friends and guild members she spotted a single Pokémon she didn't recognize right away. On second glance she couldn't remember its name either, which most certainly meant, that the young Mawile had only recently arrived here.
The warm smile the Meganium had plastered over her face grew even wider at the prospect of meeting a new Pokémon and most likely making a new friend in the process.
While the Grass type still was a bit tired from the journey, Faye was determined not to let that little obstacle get in the way of socialisation and friendship.
With a cheerful gleam in her eyes, she approached the swaeting Pokémon, introducing herself:
"Hello, dearie. My name is Faye. Is there anything I can do for you?"

"Y-yeah!" Marion bleated out immediately before clapping a hand over her mouth as if to push the awkward greeting back in. "I mean, uh. Yes! Yes, ma'am." Marion wiped a little at her brow, her gaping maw at the back of her head still panting. "I'm here to sign up! To be an adventurer! All of that good stuff! And, uh, um -" She scraped at her forehead again. "Maybe to get a glass of water. Before the adventuring, I mean. I'm not going to go adventuring specifically for a glass of water. That's not a very good treasure. I doubt there's, like, even a cave of glasses of water or something. It's all really neat treasures and oh goodness I'm rambling, aren't I? Haha! Yeah, yeah, I am SO rambling. Sorry, I do that. When I'm nervous, I mean. Not that I'm nervous now. Okay, I'm a little nervous, but - I'm still rambling, um..."

Marion sucked in a breath, puffing herself up. "Okay. Let me, um. Let me try this again." She squared her shoulders, trying to look as fierce as possible, before declaring in a clear voice: "I'm here to join the Guild and learn how to be an Adventurer!" By rote instinct, she flung her paw up in a salute, open-palmed and straight-fingered just above her brow.

Upon seeing the Mawile's heartelt enthusiasm, the guildmaster couldn't help but chuckle.
Others always took her position that seriously when all she did was to organize the guild.
There really was no reason to treat her any differently because of her title or anything.
"Sure thing, sweetie! If you'd like to, we can get to it right away. Don't worry, it shouldn't take long at all. You should be able to take your first mission by tomorrow already. If you could please follow me so we can begin, my dear?"
With that said, the Meganium slowly walked towards the guild, stopping again after a short distance to add:
"And by the way, you'd be surprised, which caves actually exist. In my younger years I discovered the cave of nacho cheese once."
