Framed Not Foolish Empty
PostSubject: Framed Not Foolish   Framed Not Foolish EmptySat Nov 30, 2013 5:49 am

The Shop owner seemed even more outraged at the sight that the presumed thief had suddenly sprinted into the forest. He screeched at the scraggy, demanding that he go and capture the 'disgusting, no-good, apple-stealing crook'. For added effect, the owner shook his stick-weapon threateningly. The dark type was obviously unfazed by the pathetic display, but did not speak back as he dashed after the runaway Purrloin.

Through the bushes he ran. The Purrloin didn't seem to be bent on hiding, as the scraggy could easily tell what direction she was heading to. The chase continued, disrupting the peace of the forest. The reptile squinted his eyes, keeping focused on the purple blur in front of him. He nearly trampled over an oblivious Rattata as he hurried through the trees. This Purrloin was pretty quick, he had to give it that. But sure enough, he'd have to catch up to her. He just needed to wait until she tired out, is all.

In his mind, however, he was doubting. Why was this Purrloin asleep when they had found here? Surely even the most absent-minded of thieves would know to search for cover instead of taking a nap in the open. Thinking back, this feline had said she was framed. It was possible, yes, but he couldn't be sure. What if she was only pretending in order to grab this chance to escape? It seemed to be expected from such a species to trick and manipulate pokemon. If she really was trying to trick him, then she had to be put down one way or another. He couldn't let this thief just run away, and he wasn't sure if she would run out of energy before he did.

Thinking quick, he opened his satchel and drew out a single long, thorn of silver. He was still behind her, not too far. Focusing, he began preparing his arm for the throw. Quickly, he sent the thorn forwards, aiming for the feline. The thorn wasn't sharp enough to cause serious injury, but would cause enough damage to slow her down and give him the chance to arrest her. Or at least get some answers.

Purrloin was giving chase to the paw prints. She was beginning to get tuckered out, but it wasn't the time for another nap! The Purrloin had other mission on paw. It was important to her, she didn't want to rot in a jail cell for something another Purrloin did. She turned around a few times to see if the explorer had gone after her. He was a slow one, but what did she expect from one with an eye-patch? Patchy the Pirate? The Purrloin slowed down her movements in order for him to catch up. The scent was still on her snout. She hadn't gone far, after all, Purrloin isn't common in these forests, nor ever showed up here unless going into town.

The thorn had been shot, and it hit. Right on the base of Marya's tail! The Purrloin yet out a high pitched hiss of pain as she stopped running completely. She got on her four legs and looked at the thorn. She gently used her tail to remove the thorn and look over to the catching up explorer. The Purrloin gave him the paw motion to come closer as she sat down to wait for him. She sniffed the air before her, it reeks of peach berries with the faint scent of apple juice going in the north direction. She knew where the Purrloin was going, this bard doesn't plan on letting her get away.

Once the Scraggy got close enough to the bard to speak. Marya got up and walked towards him, having no fear to wait for him to slow down to a stop. The Purrloin blinked as a face of determination lights up from her face. "Why would I be a thief if I bought a apple frrrom the sssame sstorrre lassst week?" She questioned the Scraggy. "I can sstill smell the ssccent of apple juice from the true thief, ssshe went norrrrth!" The Purrloin stated to the Scraggy. "Tell me explorrrerrr, do you have a wanted posterrr of the thief yourrr looking forrr?" She asked in a calm yet worried tone.

Framed Not Foolish Empty
PostSubject: Re: Framed Not Foolish   Framed Not Foolish EmptySat Nov 30, 2013 1:50 pm

Mordred watched as the thorn hit its mark. The Purrloin stopped completely, taking its time to pull out the thorn. He felt a little bad for the feline, but couldn't allow himself to pity, not when she was still a suspect for the crime. He raised a brow, seeing the cat suddenly motion for him to come closer. She sat down, not seeming to be at all panicked or under pain. Eerily calm and collected, two things that were not to be expected from a crook trying to escape from authorities. How odd.

He stopped, placing enough distance that he could hear her, but just enough that he didn't have to worry about being suddenly pounced. He watched as she stood and began to approach him, looking very determined. He prepared himself, not wanting to be caught off guard. To his surprise, the feline began to speak. She didn't talk like someone trying to plead for mercy, nor anyone trying to taunt him. In fact, she seemed to be trying to question him. This all seemed very suspicious, but not in an accusatory way. More of a 'Was this Purrloin really framed?' sort of way.

"I'm not one to know the motives of thieves," He replied, "Though there have been casualties when bandits tried to steal food for their gang." He had heard stories from some mercenary explorers when he spent the night at the guild. While most spoke of reaching distant lands and finding treasures, there were still an abundance of stories pertaining to the formation of vile gangs and clans. The world of criminals was definitely an odd one, but the scraggy couldn't be sure. After all, he wasn't a criminal.

He seemed to hesitate for a moment, deciding whether to trust this Purrloin. All the evidence she had presented so far didn't have much solidity, the tone she had was very convincing. The scraggy wasn't sure if this was sincerity or just the natural manipulative abilities of the Purrloin species. Sighing, he reached to his satchel, though did not take his eyes off the cat. He took out a poster, unfolding it and presenting it towards the suspect. The Purrloin on the page had a very malicious look in her eyes, though had a mischievous smirk. She wasn't very different from most Purrloins, but her ears seemed longer and her face seemed sharper.

Marya took note on the poster. This didn't look at Marya at all when paying attention to details. The bard had a more kind and innocent tone to her facial features. No malicious facial features, and her facial features were softer at best. She looked for the name of this Purrloin. She pointed over to the name of the thieving Purrloin. "This Purrrloin's name is Trrixie, my name is Marrrya." This Purrloin noted to the Scraggy. She looked up at him. "Also, her earrsss are longeeeerrrr then mine." She said holding on her wooden flute. The Purrloin in the photo didn't look like any Purrloin she knew. All the Purrloins from her past live beyond here. She knows that, but he didn't.

"Purrrloin aren't common in this forest either." Marya noted. "Trrust me, I've tirrred to find sssome. How about we make a deal?" Marya asked him. "How about we team up to find the trrrue thief? If we can't find her...then...I'll accept the misplaced chargesss and you can arrest me instead." Marya told him in a sight sigh. She knew this was unfair to her, but the Purrloin can't help to remember that the Scraggy is just doing his job. He needed the award, at least she was doing a noble thing. The Purrloin placed her paw up slightly at the Scraggy. "Do we have a deal?"

Framed Not Foolish Empty
PostSubject: Re: Framed Not Foolish   Framed Not Foolish EmptySat Nov 30, 2013 2:34 pm

Mordred took a moment to inspect the poster himself. His eyes darting from the picture to the Purrloin in front of him, he found that what she had pointed out was indeed, correct. The thief's face was very different in detail, and if he were to see the two beside each other, he had no doubt that it would've been easy to decipher who was who. Such error on his part made him feel ashamed, and guilty that he had accused the feline for such things. The fact he had attacked her with a thorn didn't make it any better.

He placed the poster back in his satchel, his mind in a flurry. What was he to do? There was a very high likely that this Purrloin hadn't been the thief. He had attacked an innocent pokemon, paying no attention to the details that had been proving her innocence. And what's worse, by now the real culprit would be far away from them. Had he really just failed his mission? It made him feel even more ashamed. Maybe he didn't deserve to be a part of the Guild, especially if he couldn't even catch a dumb apple thief.

The scraggy was suddenly surprised, hearing the feline's proposition. The idea could actually work. His senses weren't sharp enough to detect where a target was at distance, but with the Purrloin's sharp senses, this could actually turn out to be a successful mission. He frowned, seeing how upset Marya seemed. This really was unfair on her part. He reached out to the feline's paw, shaking it lightly in agreement. "Sure, that sounds good," He said, his voice trailing at the end. "...But, I actually sorta believe you're not the culprit. If we don't find the thief, I won't arrest you, alright?" He didn't need the reward anyways. In fact, he wouldn't even be in Grassveil right now. He only took the mission to support the guild before he departed for another adventure.

"So, mind leading the way?" He asked, now paying attention to their surroundings. They had wasted enough time with this chase. If they wanted to catch the thief, they had to move.

Marya knew the agreement would work, it was just fair since the Scraggy was doing his job. Marya could help catch the thief and prove that she was innocent. She gently shook his hand then pulled away. The look of happiness on her face. They had a chance to catch the thief. The feline purred as she got ready to run again. She placed her flute in his satchel without his permission. "Hold it for me?" She asked in a charming purr as she got on all fours. She didn't ask for his name, nor who he was. Marya can find out later once they catch the thief.

This basic amount of trust that this Purrloin, her species known for theft, had in others. It was surprising to any other pokemon. She'd never let anyone hold her flute. It was her personal treasure. Marya smiled softly at him. She nodded and began to look north. "Of courrrse! Follow me." The Purrloin was happy that she had someone by her side. The bard was also relieved that he wouldn't arrest her. The Purrloin guessed that he didn't really need the mission.  Which was good, since she didn't like jail cells. The feline got her four legs ready and began to run after the scent. Marya made sure that he can catch up to her. "Quickly!" She said as she ran down the path. The faint scent of apple juice leading her as she looked behind her to make sure the Scraggy is not far behind.

Framed Not Foolish Empty
PostSubject: Re: Framed Not Foolish   Framed Not Foolish EmptyFri Dec 13, 2013 11:37 am

[Sorry for taking so long! ; v ; ]

Mordred didn't react as the feline put her flute in his satchel. He was much too preoccupied with the fact the item was an instrument. He'd never seen that many instruments in his life. As a child, his clan had resented instruments due to the belief that they were only for leisure and were therefore fruitless to teach. However, since being unofficially exiled, the reptile had had some encounters with pokemon who practiced and were skillful in the art of music. Having only experienced 'natural' music made by the environment and the occasional singing enemy, Mordred found instruments simply odd. This did not mean he thought of them lowly, of course. In fact, the reptile found pokemon who were able to use them either formidable or admirable depending on the situation. Disappointment stirred in him for a split second, having realized he hadn't and probably won't be hearing the sound of the flute any time soon with the issue at hand.

Mordred mentally slapped himself upon realizing he was driving his mind away from his duties. This was not the time to request for performances, not when a criminal was on the loose. Upon seeing the feline smile, his mouth tugged up ever so slightly. Sure, he felt puzzled at how she had come to trust him so quickly, but he decided it was just because he was willing to clear her name. Still, it was nice to see another pokemon's determination. Maybe this Purrloin wasn’t so bad. He couldn’t tell for sure if she was being genuine, though hoped so. She seemed to have potential; maybe she could join the guild.

The Purrloin suddenly bolted forwards, already continuing the chase. The scraggy chased after her, still not as fast in comparison to the feline but just quick enough that he managed to stay a short distance behind her.

Pecha forest wasn’t as grand or intimidating as its neighboring forests, but it still contained enough variety in landscape to cope. Trees and shrubbery of many types passed as the duo ran through the forest, filled with many inhabitants who fled as they heard the hasty stomps of running feet. The scent of apple juice lingered in the air, just enough that the keenest of noses could track and follow its source. A very solid distance away from the two pursuers was the culprit, who had yet to stop attempting to flee.

Trixie panted, looking around as she ran like a lean blur through the forest. She had practically no idea where she was going now. In her haste, she had forgotten to keep track of the path. Her ears were picking up faint footsteps at her trail, indicating that her escape was far from over. But with no sense of this forest, it would only be a matter of time before she was caught.
