| Twayblade didn't really know what to say to the Riolu as she revealed why she harboured her dislike for exploration teams. The Treecko merely listened in silence, until Kira too fell silent at the sound of the enraged Seel. Blinking, Twayblade smiled hesitantly, "Ah... uhm... Is there any way we can just apologise and be on our way?" she asked. The Seel merely began to charge at them, head held low in an attempt to use Headbutt. "I'll take that as a no!" cried Twayblade, leaping out of the way of the charging Seel. | |

| Kira was struck with the headbutt instead, she was thankful for her ability at this point. She could never flinch with this ability, and enabled her to use Counter with this seel. The seel smashed its head into her as she held up her paws to take the impact. She was pushed back a bit, but only an inch. She used this opportunity to use Counter and gave the seel a roundhouse kick on its cheek. The seel screeched as it was kicked aside, it got up though, and only looked even more enraged that before! | |

| Knowing about Seel's typing was certainly a help. As Kira attacked it, Twayblade prepared an Absorb attack. She waited until the Seel and Kira were distance from each other once more before she struck. The green tendrils were launched from her fingertips, swirling around the Seel and taking the Sea Lion Pokemon into it's grip, sapping it's energy quite drastically due to the super effectiveness of the grass type move. | |

| The seel was breathing hard when the absorb attack finished. The pokemon turned to glare at the treecko before taking a deep breath and breathing out an icy cool air towards the treecko, using Icy Wind. Kira decided that she needed to get in close again. She darted in towards the Seel, leaving behind a white trail of where she used to be as she used Quick Attack and collided with the Seel. The seel attempted to use headbutt on her once more, but she had used the move quick attack once more to get away, forgetting about her first plan to utilize her Counter attack. | |

| Twayblade hadn't expected an ice type attack from the Seel, though after feeling it's effects she knew she probably should have. The Treecko landed in the snow, taking quite heavy damage from the ice type move. Twayblade shivered, the chilly winds biting at her skin. The attack stopped when Kira charged into Seel with Quick Attack, though Twayblade lay shivering for another few moments, wrapping her cloak around herself to try and warm her chilled skin and recover a bit from the attack. She hated that she was so weak, even to the attacks of Pokemon native to the places she'd grown up in. | |

| Kira knew that the treecko had taken massive damage, and had an idea. She just hoped the pokemon would get it. She planted herself in place and set up an endure attack while the seel was focused on her with another Icy Wind attack. The seel was a good distance away from Kira, and Kira was taking less damage because of the endure attack. The Seel was vulnerable to an absorb attack and would most likely be finished off with it. Problem was, the Seel's attack was pushing Kira backwards, and closer to the river! | |

| Twayblade pushed herself to her feet and quickly analysed the situation in front of her. Though she could still feel the effects of the Icy Wind attack, she knew she needed to do something before Kira realised that she was getting ever closer to the frozen surface of the river. Using the only attack she knew that could hit the Seel at such a distance, Twayblade used Absorb again. The green tendrils once again surrounded Seel sapping it's energy. This time the Treecko could feel Seel's energy replenishing her own. She then stumbled over to Kira, trying to make sure she didn't get too close to the water and terrify herself as she had done before. | |

| Kira was exhausted, but didn't let it show. She had no clue how close to the river she was, "Are you ok?" she asked the stumbling Treecko even though it was obvious that the treecko wasn't. Her body was shivering and she swore there wasn't a single bit of heat in her body, "W-We should get moving...get the blood moving and warm ourselves.." She suggested. | |

| "I'm fine," she replied quickly, even though it was clear that for the moment she was not. How could she have underestimated Seel in such a way? Keeping her cloak wrapped around her she slowly moved forwards, her body still shivering despite the Treecko trying to stop it. She hoped that Kira was right about them getting warmer if they kept moving. | |

| Kira kept herself moving, every once and a while unleashing a blaze kick on a unfortunate mound of snow to try and use the fire to warm herself up. She finally felt the some warmth seep into her when she used one more Blaze Kick, and looked to see how the Treecko was doing. If the treecko wasn't looking too good she would suggest maybe stopping and maybe making something like a torch to have some kind of portable source of warmth. Would a torch even work? she wondered. | |

| Twayblade kept herself moving too. She moved slowly to begin with, her muscles feeling stiff from the effects of the cold, however as the ice began to let up and her shivers began to subside, the Treecko began to feel a lot better. As warmth spread through her body from the combination of movement and the occasional burst of heat from Kira's Blaze Kick, Twayblade began to cheer up a little, her grip on her cloak loosening until she didn't hold it around herself like a blanket any more, instead letting it flow out behind her as she walked. "How are you feeling?" she asked Kira, realising that neither of them had spoken for a while now. | |

| "Better thankfully.." Kira said, "I now officially hate Ice Type attacks though," the riolu joked. Kira was glad to have company with her, it made her feel less alone and this pokemon was friendly to her. It was a nice change after being held captive by ground and dark pokemon, which was embarrassing for a fighting type like her. It wasn't her fault that the pokemon were a much higher level than her at the time. She looked ahead and asked, "How much longer do you think we have until the snowy part of this place ends?" | |

| Twayblade smiled, chuckling at the Riolu as she joked. She then replied, "I've never been very far downstream, so I actually have no idea how much longer. It can't be too far now though, especially since we left the forest behind for the most part ages ago." The Treecko paused for a moment to rest, taking an iron thorn from the pocket inside her cloak and stabbing at the very edge of the ice covered river. She didn't want to scare Kira again, but it was a good way to check how much further until they'd be walking alongside water that wasn't frozen. Plus they could get a drink at the same time... if they were careful. | |

| "What're you doing?" The riolu asked curiously, she stayed well away from the river, but curiosity begged her to go near. Kira didn't know that much on survival, just the heat thing with moving that she had figured out through sweating. She knew that working out caused sweat and you sweat when it gets hot, so she figured that working out generated heat somehow. Kira looked at the treecko with a clueless expression, was the pokemon getting something to drink? Wouldn't that be a bad idea because of the water's temperature and they were trying to conserve their body heat? | |

| "If I can judge how thin the ice layer is, we'll know how far away we are from where the snow is gone," replied Twayblade, "The thinner it is, the closer we are to Grassveil..." She stopped as she broke through the ice, the thorn being pulled out with water dropping from it's sharp tip. With a few more stabs, Twayblade had broken off a very small section of ice, holding it up. It was rather thin, especially compared to what she was used to. "Well we're getting closer, that's for sure," she smiled before dropping the ice on the ground. Sh dipped her paws in the water and splashed a little over her face to cool herself down. After all, being a grass type she didn't exactly cope well in serious heat either. | |
